PixelDust ROM is an Android 10 ROM especially built for Google Pixel and Nexus devices.
The code is based off directly from AOSP. We strive to keep the PixelDust Experience as close as possible to Android as Google intended. We add a decent selection of the coolest custom ROM features that would've been missed if they hadn't been included.
The PixelDust Crew would highly appreciate if you would take a little of your time and leave your valuable feedback, your honest opinion or just say hello. If you should encounter a bug, or some kind of glitch that seems to be abnormal and you are pretty sure that it is related to the ROM (and not related to any special apps or mods you flashed on top), then please give as many details as possible.
Special shoutouts to Roger.T for his amazingly designed wallpapers, logos and the best bootanimation I ever had on my Pixel!!! If you like our work, please consider to buy Roger the first beer, and a few more for the other team members and spezi77. Cheers!
BTW, please consider to take a logcat, because you know that:

I can't seem to install this ROM. I've followed the directions verbatim and either get the factory ROM starting or if I change active slots it boots to bootloader. Any ideas where to go from here?

Same here. Boots to bootloader. If i don't change slot it boots to stock rom
I am on may update.

Sorry guys, I was too fast with releasing. My first build worked without problems. Now my builds won't boot. So I pulled the builds and will try to make it bootable again.
In the meantime please use the AOSP version of PixelDust.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Okay guys, we are back in business. Device boots and everything is working (calls, wifi etc). Sorry for the problems I caused.
If someone is interested: https://github.com/PixelDust-Device...mmit/7774c14551f32655481bda1540ca12bb510d0071
I accidently deleted the Android.bp file of bootctrl and that caused the device to boot into bootloader. This is fixed now.
Please use June security update as a base!
Btw: The errors in recovery while flashing doesn't matter. Just change the boot slot after flashing.

I really don't mean to complain . I certainly appreciate all your work! Just reporting my experience to see if there are any pointers! I'm on Verizon and have the June update. Followed the instructions exactly and did it twice. Phone stays on activation page then says it can't be activated.

eSIM? With normal SIM from T-Mobile Germany it works flawless. Verizon is difficult on many ROMs I guess.

Yeah that may be it. I wonder if other Verizon users have had the same experience. Haven't had trouble with AOSP Pixel Dust, which I love. Just the CAF. Normal SIM.

Additional information about the recovery on this device:
First of all we should make the basics clear: On our Z3 Compact we have got a bootloader update which can boot a recovery from powered off state by pressing volume down and the power button. Because we haven't ever had this updated bootloader and not all sony devices received the update, there have been some intelligent people who brought a special init binary which can handle recovery boots during a normal boot. This means when using advanced reboot from the ROM or pressing a volume key while the sony logo appears at boot. https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_sony_common/commits/lineage-16.0
To make this work there is this method to extract the ramdisk: https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...eage-16.0/extract_ramdisk/extract_ramdisk.cpp which uses zlib to decompress it. So far so good, zlib can decompress the default compression for recovery ramdisk which is gzip. However LZMA is more effective to reduce the size so we took it's advantage: https://github.com/omnirom/android_...mmit/885b01223a460d3f2500155ea415bdc8573679bc in order to fit recoverys compiled from recent environments (android-9.0 in my case) into our small FOTAKernel partition.
According to this change the init_sony can't handle the recovery boot anymore because it can't decompress the recovery's ramdisk so nailyk and Diewi (as far as i know) added support to decompress LZMA compressed ramdisk's with this chain: https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/device-sony-common-init/pull/20/commits
However these commits have never been merged into the LineageOS/android_device_sony_common nor the sonyxperiadev/device-sony-common-init. Since your ROM, CarbonROM, is using a fork of LineageOS/android_device_sony_common is missing these commits the recovery boot fails with a kernel panic, like this: https://del.dog/egawososux.htm
So you can either use a recovery which doesn't compress the ramdisk with LZMA (for example the one from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-3-0-aries-t3837192 or ask your ROM developer to pick the according commits into the sony_common tree/use my fork of LineageOS's one https://github.com/z3c-pie/android_...mits/fa85dfcc07f42d73f9a1abf1f4c82d8bf0486a93 which would enable you to use recent TWRP builds with a LZMA compressed ramdisk.
I hope i presented it clearly and in the right way,
Have a nice day!
EDIT: Minimized patch for LZMA is available here: https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_device_sony_common/+/252923

Hi, I can't open your thread in XDA Labs app, I suppose that's the case of many people and that's why there is not much views and comments on this thread.
I didn't tried yet your ROM but it sound great and will try it ASAP.
Also which recovery do you recommend to avoid errors like error 7 (if I remember) ?
Also will you continue to work on RR ?
EDIT : after posting this comment via browser, I can now open this thread in XDA Labs
EDIT 2 : everything is working

To be honestly I can't follow you. Do you mean that you don't know how to update the build? For this case you have to download manually and flash it in TWRP. There are no wipes needed.
Hi, thanks for this and how is the battery performance?
Any plans for making an LineageOS for microG rom?
Thanks for the ROM, I am using it right now, everything is working good except the camera. Can take photos, but video is not working. When I'm switching to video, the app is freezing and stuck. I tried to use the stock camera with magisk, it can't take photos or video neither. Tried manual camera too, it can take photos but no video.

Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.
Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it!
YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

FAQ
Why this ROM encrypting my /data partition? How to disable it?
FlokoROM enabled forceencrypt for /data partition as default to avoid the issue ( https://github.com/FlokoROM-Devices...mmit/d83e5ebd7b826d53b3aa49faa3d824c397e4ba2f )
and keep your data securely.
If you don't want encryption, you can use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389 .
note: This Disabler require formatted /data . you can use it at first time you flash Floko. DO NOT use for already encrypted /data .
first time: in TWRP, Format Data(THIS WILL ERASE YOUR DATA) -> Flash Floko -> OpenGApps(optional) -> Magisk(recommended) -> Flash Disabler .
update: Flash Floko -> OpenGApps(optional) -> Magisk(recommended) -> Flash Disabler.
What is "recommended TWRP"?
some TWRP couldn't decrypt /data correctly. we recommend mokee's one.
Why FlokoROM doesn't support "Fast Charge"?
Hardware issue. Mi Pad 4 DOES NOT support ANY "fast charge", 5V/2A is max (depend on charger and cable).

does it work with Pie??
"flash....zip"
I don't know.
I was very surprised during the booting.
I need to make a full copy int.mem. and do the format data.
Now I see into LRT TWRP thread - it has no verity, no encryption in adv.options. @1indwurm
Mokee's twrp mounts encrypted Internal Memory automatically but doesn't ask for pass/pin/etc. Encryption hasn't any sense.
I can't find option:
Quick settings pulldown - left/right/both sides.

If I flash this rom, it will encrypt my clover automatically?
Yes it will encrypt, all data will not be deleted. You can try to flash mentioneded .zip or option in LRT TWRP.
I didn't do that yet. @dyingbread

I am not a fan of enrcypted device. So i am not interested if this rom automatically encrypt my device. I just don't want the trouble of formatting data if I move to a different rom.
After installation and configurations I was forced to purchase another Mi Pad 4 to test software.
Very smooth and responsive. Thank you.
Can someone please explain the difference between this and that: https://treble.andro.plus

Ok.
First, we provide this officially and this is traditional-style ROM. Release per device, support hardware specific features, and you can flash this ROM for clover only.
...Aaaand, treble.andro.plus provides "phh-treble" style FlokoROM GSI (Generic System Image) unofficially. You can flash it for all Treble-ready (A-only and A/B) devices.
Thank you for the outstanding ROM. I've tried a few Oreo-based ROMs before, so I've had bootloader unlocked for a while. All the other Pie-based ROMs I've tried before failed to support Mi Pad 4 properly.
Flashed Mokee TWRP, from TWRP I wiped data, flashed this ROM, OpenGapps 9.0 micro, Magisk 18.1, wiped cache/dalvik cache, booted in and restored most of my apps/setup from the cloud as if Gapps were installed natively and got the Magisk Manager app after another reboot.
Fantastic ROM, granted I haven't tried BT yet, but WiFi definitely works better than on Oreo AICP Mordiford, screen has rounded corners, etc. Thank you for making this ROM available!
Rom has been near perfect, Thank you 1indwurm
The one thing I have found a problem with is charging. I have tried a few chargers and they are very slow or don't register at all, after been fast on the stock rom. I never checked the charging speed before so can't give a before and after comparison but it seems at least twice as slow. On one of my chargers it seemed to be draining the battery instead of charging it. On the charger that was reasonable speed it was charging at 950mA but that was on a charger that should do 2.4A
@stangri - BT works well, I didn't have any drop outs when I used to have occasional dropouts in busy areas

@1indwurm -- another thing I've discovered is force-landscape orientation is lost after reboot. If I disable rotation when the device is in the landscape mode it works fine until reboot. After reboot it's stuck in portrait, I have to enable rotation again, rotate into landscape and then lock rotation again.
All other roms I've tried, once you lock the device in landscape mode, it would survive reboots and after reboot would be in landscape mode again with rotation locked.
sorry for the delay in releasing a new build.
First, we have to tell you that we're working on switch to the crDroid-based version (from AICP-based) now.
crDroid use LineageOS device trees(familiar to us), so I wish we can make it more stable and work better than before...
and finally we don't have to nuke LiveDisplay and some Lineage HALs!
Done:
pass the build
flash it over old release (no need to wipe /data !)
boot
Wi-Fi
Grayscale and LiveDisplay
DT2W
Smart cover
basic rebrand
new OTA

WIP: Extra Settings is a little buggy FIXED
WIP: rebranding
TODO: fix screen rotation
TODO: fix charging speed

reproduced in the latest release and testing(crDroid-based) ver. Did(or would) you test that on Mokee? (our build is based on mokee's tree, not xiaomi-sdm660)
Looking forward to the new version!
Finally, FlokoROM v2 is released! read OP and download it (and you can flash it over older releases, no need to wipe /data).
Link not working....but I have all day to try and download.
Flashed over v1 and keep saying google play services stop auutomatically, play store either, what it is the problem ? I'll have to do a clean install?

Installation
===============
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (TWRP)
** Make sure you have latest vendor 9.2.15 flashed, can be found in lineage thread
** Always Have a full functional Backup. Just in case!
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk Latest (whatever is most recent).
Upgrades
===============
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

If you're coming from stock, extract it from the latest Chinese dev zip and flash it from fastboot. You should also be able to flash it from TWRP, although I've never done it that way, by toggling the zip/img option in TWRP.
That's great news! I've been using crdroid on my mido for a while, great rom.

Make sure you select ARM64 and android 9, Gapps version up to you but I chose Nano because I prefer to take only the google apps i want from play store
No issues for me, I did this: start with latest china stable base, install the firmware from LineageOS thread, install the ROM, install Gapps, install magisk
Everything working perfect, performance is so good

Okay, i figured it out. If anyone else has the same issue, it is caused by the recovery. I'm not sure which twrp was I using, but after I flashed the recovery by LR team 402, it fixed the issue.
Solid rom by the way, I've been running it for a day and zero issues so far
I've been using this Rom for 2 days and I find it stable very usable. Hope more testers will come on board to develop it.
Wondering when:
1. OK GOOGLE will be detectable.
2. When the 3rd button (the one on the left side of the phone) will be added in the crdroid settings and usable.
3. When the slider will be added in the crdroid settings as well and Selfie detection when you slide it down.

Code:
(boot to bootloader)
fastboot reboot fastboot
fastboot -w
fastboot update lineage-18.0-<builddate>-UNOFFICIAL-hotdogg+GAPPS_fastboot.zip
Boot to bootloader
from terminal/command prompt: fastboot reboot fastboot
(Don't forget the above step! This will bring us into fastbootd mode. Regular bootloader/fastboot doesn't have access to all needed partitions for flashing. You will see 'partition not found' errors)
Note: In order to access fastbootd mode, we must have stock recovery flashed until TWRP is fixed
if you are coming from a different rom wipe userdata by typing fastboot -w
now type fastboot update filename.zip where filename is the name of the downloaded zip. (e.g, lineage-18.0-20200723-UNOFFICIAL-hotdogg+GAPPS_fastboot.zip)

* Major Release, do a full wipe if you have problems. I actually STRONGLY recommend a full wipe anyways.
* For all intents and purposes this is a Stable release. I've done extensive testing and everything has worked as it should or above and beyond. Now on to the updates
* A lot of just under the hood optimization and cleanup. There some configuration options that weren't exactly optimized for our device, dalvik config is a good example.
* 5G support is on par with stock ROM, if not better.
* Auto brightness has been improved
* Some cosmetic issues have been addressed like status bar padding and FOD icon centering.
* Fixed a wakelock issue when using Always on Display
* Adjustable display refresh rate code has been improved.
* Updated vendor libs from hotdog Android R OB2 to allow full use of Android 11 Display HAL
* Added Stereo in call recording support
* Various audio fixups, including increasing volume steps from 7 to 15 and raising the max volume level to be on par with stock OOS
* Optimized Always on Display: fixed wakelock issue, lowed default AOD brightness, as well as enabled auto brightness when on AOD if enabled by user within settings
* Many upstream changes, fixes, and improvments.
** This will most likely be my final release as i have moved on to the Snapdragon variant of the Note 20 Ultra 5G. Thanks for the support guys and I hope you enjoy my work. Hopefully someone will pick up where I left off.
Dec 26
* Merry Christmas!
* Updated ROM base to lineage-18.1
* Notification pull-down menu now shows 3 rows of tiles as expected
* Added "Minimum Refresh Rate" settings option in Settings > Display instead of hard-coding to 90htz always. With this new option choosing 90htz will (obviously) make it always 90htz , and choosing 60htz is similar to the "Dynamic" option in stock OOS where it decides based on what app your using.
* (With version 18.1 most, if not all of the expected LineageOS features have been merged)
* Fixed "choppy" display frame rate that would happen from time to time
* Fingerprint recognition speed improvement.
* Fixed excessive battery drain when Always On Display is active
* Update dalvik configs (they were configured for an 8GB RAM devices, we have 12)
* UI: Enabled blur
* Fixed IMS from spamming system logs
* Fixed booting with SELinux Enforcing on "user" build types
* Enabled SELinux enforcing
Nov 20
* Fixed up all the small bugs from test build
* Standalone 5G (NR SA) support, requires being on 10.0.39 or newer modem. Also be aware the signal icon will show no bars when connected to NR SA, this is just a cosmetic bug.
* Updated audio configs to to match OOS 10.0.39
* Added audio volume policy , should fix the lower then normal volume when below 50%
* SELinux is currently set to "Permissive" until I work out all the sepolicy errors
Oct 14
* Initial internal test Release

Thank you
90hz not showing in display or anywhere else?
Thanks man, just showed my appreciation via PayPal. Happy Thanksgiving! This build rocks. Passes safetynet with props module spoofing a Oneplus 8. Or you wouldn't be getting that stuffing! Stable as hell, everything working for me so far. Happy Holidays to all
when tryping fastboot reboot fastboot it says "fastboot: usage: unknown reboot target fastboot"
Is there any chance this would work on the Sprint OnePlus 7 Pro 5G? If not are there any roms that do currently work for Sprints model

Thanks so much man that meant a lot to me
New build uploaded. I recommend everyone to update to it as it addresses the last few bugs i'm aware of and all the LOS specific features are fully merged
I got this installed and it's fantastic. For some reason my camera is capped at 12mp, even on other camera apps. Is there anything I can do about that?

That's normal,even on OOS
First time installing a custom ROM but when I run "fastboot update lineage-18.1-<builddate>-UNOFFICIAL-hotdogg+GAPPS_fastboot.zip" I get an error reading "Fastboot: error: failed to open zip file 'lineage-18.0-<builddate>-UNOFFICIAL-hotdogg+GAPPS_fastboot.zip': I/O error
EDIT: I got it working
I've installed the latest build (18.1, build 12/26), but I can't change notification, ringtone, or alarm through settings. Clicking on any of those restarts the settings app.
EDIT: I tried to do a workaround through tasker, but when I go to choose the sound I get the following popup:
Error: android.content.ActivityNotFoundException: No Activity found to handle intent { act=android.intent.action.RINGTONE_PICKER (has extras) }.
I wasn't able to find a working solution through google. I tried clearing the cache for settings and restarting, but it didn't fix anything. I also can't use the default launcher as it just continually crashes, but the pixel launcher works fine.

hmmm. i'll take a look. tbh i restored stock like a week back to get updated libs and then my ISP was having all types of issues , one thing lead to another. blah blah blah.. i'm back now though
does this have pocket mode? or check proximity sensor before wakeup?N im happy your back
Also I dont seem to get the same signal as on aosip or oos not sure why switched it to global and im on the new sim
Great ROM so far! Just got one thing to add. Anyone seeing low WiFi signal? My house isn't big at all but when I'm in the kitchen, which is about 20 ft away form the router, it'll keep switching between data and wifi because it says the signal is poor. My gf's stock pixel is at full bars in the kitchen. Any thoughts? Also, I reflashed and still same issue.
I've been watching this therad ever since you released it, and it looks to keep getting better,, so kudos to you man! I have the T-Mobile variant on the Mint netowork, so I'm always afraid to try anything but I haven't done much research on if you can flash it to a T-Mobile device. Let me know, thanks!

I have the same phone, also went from t-mobile to mint. You have to get oneplus to unlock the bootloader, and then you can follow the flash instructions for the rom (Probably want to do the backup as well, although that wouldn't work for me). If you try it, hopefully you don't have the issues I had with notifications/ringtones.

1. First Important Step is to Backup (though depends on you if you wanna be safe or no )
2. extract the ROM.zip
3. extract the fastboot Rom installer zip (download link below)
4. take the payload.bin and copy it to input folder of payload_dumper-win64
5. run the payload_dumper.exe
6. take all the *.img files from output and paste it outer folder with adb, fastboot and etc files
For clean flash
7. reboot to fastboot, (sometimes it doesn't work from bootloader so try going 'fastboot' from recovery)
8. run ROMinstaller.bat (see NOTES below), if it get stuck try rebooting to fastboot again while script is on
9. factory reset from recovery
10. reboot
For update/dirty flash
7. authorize phone for adb while normally booted
8. run updateKEEPdata.bat (remove the flash recovery line from script or use new uploaded)
9. reboot
NOTES:
1) recovery from v2 zip seems working fine, so should not have any issues
2) If the script feels stuck or unresponsive, try pressing enter after clicking on the script window.
3) It does use pixel experience recovery for now so do not freak out
4) if dirty flash not works, clean flash should work

Installed on a OP8 Pro just to test out Visible (Verizon MVNO) carrier compatibility. Sim card is seen as "Visible" but Network Settings is grayed out and there's no other connection.
Posted mostly for the sake of others that are on the same quest as I to get off of stock rom and use Visible that may be curious.

well, this build is for oneplus 8, and not 8 pro or 8 t. I only tested it on op8 myself
Sorry, I wasn't trying to signal it wasn't going to work, but purely wanted to see if it had the Verizon / Visible compatibility included. I'm learning quite a bit about what goes into carrier configuration and realize that expecting a ROM to have compatibility with a carrier that (I believe) requires specific vendor files above and beyond the APN settings isn't really practical.
FWIW though, it did install and boot on OP8 Pro anyway, so there's that.

I see, no problem, no guarantee but I'll keep an eye out for that
I am also having problems with my Verizon sim on my op8. I can receive calls actually, just can't call someone from my end. I can only send texts if I use the Verizon messages app. Idk if it's just certain sim cards but that's what's happening for me. Hopefully this can be fixed. But overall a great build!
welcome hycon

So your on Verizon A11 and have data/signal on this build? If it's wompy you probably just need to add correct apn's.
HHi. It is one of the few ROMs that I have not been able to detect failures. The bluetooth works well with any android compatible device. Its operation is fluid, It connects well with the car through android auto (this is not easy to find with ROMs based on aosp or similar with android 11) the battery has very good performance and is compatible with magisk and Xposed framework. Congratulations on the development and I look forward to the next update. Brilliant work. When will it be published?
