Hey guys,
trying to install my office's work profile, which requires encryption.
however when pressing "Encrypt Tablet" i get a quick animation and then it is gone, without encrypting anything.
Does anyone have any idea if this can be resolved?
thank you!

So who's used the Encrypt Tablet option in the Location & Security settings? It tells me that it can take an hour or more to encrypt.
I'm not sure I'll need to do it, just interested to hear your thoughts.

Fellas,
In order to connect to the wifi at work (eduroam) I need to have the proper CA certificate installed. Ok, no prob here.
In the case I reboot my phone... I have to go to settings and re-enter my passcode in order to use the secure credentials. I can then connect to eduroam again. If I try to bypass it and connect to eduroam directly, then it fails... and have to reboot again and start the whole procedure.
Kinda annoying doing so almost every morning (yes, I often reboot my phone in the evenings).
Funny thing is I dont see it happening with all roms. For instance, was using gingervillain and no need to do anything. Now using mildwild and I have to going through the whole procedure...
So I wonder: does anyone know how to fix it? How to avoid it? (besides trying different roms )
Much appreciated.
I recently bought myself a transformer prime tf201 and i have had a pattern on it for a little while. A few friends attempted without me noticing to unlock it and eventually got to the stage where it asks for my google account username and password.
However even when i put those in its says invalid username or password, i have read this is a bug to do with multiple accounts.
I really dont want to factory reset the tablet. Ive seen apps that i can remote install to temporary bypass the lockscreen, however the tablet has wifi completely turned off so i cant do anything like that. Is there anyway over the usb connection to turn wifi on, install an app, or some how bypass the lock screen. Also if there is no way of doing that can i root the device and somehow get all my stuff back. I have had no luck so far, please help as i have no idea how i can get all my stuff back without resetting it. It would be greatly appreciated for an answer to my problem and if i have to root it a link to something helping me to do that.
Thanks heaps Brent.
ps. when the device is locked the usb connection is useless as nothing comes up on the computer
I have the same problem! my password is refused!
Hi,
I just installed VPN software on my Moto X 4.4. Upon starting it, it pops up ""Type the password for credential storage". I've never set up such passowrd. No matter what I type, it will reject and ask again.
I searched a bit. One suggest is to enter 5 times to get it clear thes storage. Does it and no change. Another is to set the screen lock to none and it will ask to set up the screen lock and etc. Did not work either.
Is there any way to get over this one?
Thanks

Struggling with the same on my S5 - any assistance will be greatly appreciated
vpn only works with some form of lock enabled: activate a pattern lock, leave it enabled, and try entering the vpn menu again.
Hi all,
Everywhere I looked online said that the only way to reverse encryption is to factory wipe. Yet, today, when I went to change my lock screen pattern, I was offered the option to choose whether I still wanted to encrypt my phone with this pattern. I chose no, for the heck of it, and on reboot, it didn't take me to the decryption screen. Went straight to Android.
I'm guessing that the encryption is still there, but it's somehow just bypassing it. Any ideas on how to verify that it's still encrypted?
This is on Stock Lollipop 5.0.1 with no root
EDIT : My phone's encryption status still says "Encrypted" even though it doesn't ask me for a pattern
First, take a pencil and draw an outline of your phone on a plain piece of cardboard paper. Second, this isn't helpful goodnight.
Wrong section dude, you wont get answers here. Go to the Q&A section.
Thank You, bor3d2damax for pointing out the incorrect section! Now that it's in the right section and NolenUmar has shown how childish he can really be - Any ideas as to how to verify that it's still encrypted?

In Lollipop it lets you encrypt without a security method (its even enabled by default on a Nexus 6). A little pointless since it'll just slow down read/write and hardly provide any security, as well as having the usual encryption issues, but whatever.

I see. So it simply goes back to that method. Thank You for clearing that up.
