New Control Center and Notification Shade in MIUI 12
MIUI 12 brings several new UI improvements to Xiaomi phones. I wanted to go over some of the changes made to the notifications menu and the control center. I have MIUI 12 running on my Xiaomi Mi 9T and have been using these new features over the past few days. These are all of the new changes you can expect with the control center and notification shade.

To access the different menus, you'll swipe down on your screen. Swipe down on the left side of you home screen to bring down the notification shade. Swipe down on the right side to bring down your control center.
Control Center
This menu is a collection of toggles and sliders that act as quick shortcuts to bast phone functions. This menu is where you will find the following controls:
Mobile Data
Wifi
Bluetooth
Flashlight
At this point, if you expand the menu, you'll find more toggles below that include:
Mute
Screenshot
Airplane mode
Lock screen
Location
Rotation
Scanner
Reading mode
Dark mode
DND
Battery saver
Ultra battery saver
Cast Mi Share
Floating windows
Screen Recorder
Vibrate
Hotspot
Sync
NFC
Focus mode
Bedtime mode
This entire list is customizable. There is an edit icon in the top right corner of the control center which you let you add or remove different toggles.
Some of the best features of the control center are being able to easily access a list of available WiFi or Bluetooth connections, without having to open your settings menu.
There are more customization options for the control center in the settings menu under Status Bar. In this settings menu, you'll be able to toggle the following options:
Show notification icons
Show connection speed
Show carrier when device is locked
Use control center
Edit carrier name
Battery indicator

Notification Shade
The notification shade has also been revamped to include new features for MIUI 12. This new notification system is simple, cleaner, and more organized. There are three different types of notification options. You'll have lock screen notifications, floating notifications, and notification badges.
In the notification settings, you can choose which apps receive each kind of notification. So if I want my messaging apps to receive badge notifications and floating notification, but not appear on my lock screen, I can do that.
Screenshots:
The default setup for the notification shade doesn't require any customization to work as you'd expect it to. However, there are now enough extra customization features for anyone to set things up exactly how they prefer.
How it Feels
These updates create a significantly better experience compared to the previous situation in MIUI 11. Being able to quickly bring down the notification shade or the control center, based on which side of the screen you interact with, makes daily use of your phone mush easier. I have found that managing my notifications has become much better after updating from MIUI 11.
Control center for MIUI 11 and MIUI 12
Notification shade for MIUI 11 and MIUI 12
With the new update, I can quickly see my email notifications without having to view my control center. I keep my chat notifications as badges and only have my less sensitive notifications show up on my lock screen. This would include YouTube, system, Snapchat, or call notifications, etc.
The new layout of the Control center is much easier to use than in MIUI 11. My flashlight is something I use every day and having the larger icons in a more organised space makes using this much simpler. The brightness slider is also improved and easier to use, since they have made it much wider. For my shortcuts, I keep screen recording and night mode at the top, since I use those most often. Overall these are very welcome improvements over MIUI 11.

On Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Global 32GB 3GB, the swipe down on left/right side only brings Notification shade with 5 toggle butrons, you can then swipe down another time and you get the full toggle buttons. The advertized "New way" has not been fully tested.
Also MIUI 12 is alot heavier than previous versions, I barely get 970MB - 1.2GB Ram free if I close all running apps. With only Google App(assistent, voice and search) and the MIUI running, its taking up 2GB Ram - That is in my opinion stupid, as your UI is not suppose to take up so many ressources that other Apps will have trouble running!!

Any screen?
the onscreen buttons are ugly and useless, i think it's better to get rid of them or make an on/off setting in menu
bugs:
- 2g/3g button is unchecked after a restart
- can't flash with twrp recovery (bad md5) (works with ra and cwm)
- some crash in settings menu

Woah, now that looks slick. Will give it a go!
Loving this. Been using since yesterday and I have two notes on it.
First, for some reason the blue notification bubbles that explain immersive mode (see screen shot) reappear every so often even though I select OK to acknowledge them.
Second, some way to indicate the swiping direction to unlock versus open the camera would be cool, even just a single arrow next to the "unlock" text. After a day I've become accustomed to it, but at first I kept opening the camera.
Other than that this is awesome.

1) Apparently there is no way to control this behavior. This is controlled by the new Android 4.4 "Immersive mode" that allows hiding the navbar. We don't know why it keeps showing up again yet. This may be a bug in the build, it's only supposed to show up once per app install.
2) That's a good idea. We will try to implement this.

As far as I'm aware you have to swipe to view a notification, and swipe the other way to dismiss it. I think press to view and swipe either way to dismiss would be more intuitive.

Falling in love with this lockscreen. My major complaint is that it apparently continues to close as I've had several instances throughout the day when it didn't open until I opened the app.
Is this being worked on? Also is there an option to open a custom app instead of just the camera?

Wow, that looks cool! Reminds me of iOS's lockscreen.
App is great and after five minutes I bought the pro version. But one problem for me. After unlock there's noticeable delay in showing the home screen. I see the full empty lockscreen wallpaper for some time before fully unlocking. And maybe the clock could be little lower since it's almost touching the clear status bar

This may be caused by a memory leak, we are on it. About the app shortcuts, we don't know how to implement this in a classy way yet.
Hello,
Really nice app.
I have the same problem as Gnaver on my Galaxy S4, it take quite some times after unlocking to display the homescreen.
Great lockscreen, but I would like to see music controls, and polish language (I can help in translating)

Nope, only the first message is displayed, if there are more than one then there's something like "whatsapp - 2 messages"

I've used many apps similar to this, this one is by far the best one (for me at least) and it's only in beta..
I am getting notifications on my lock screen and notifications for dismissed notifications. Other than that works pretty smoothly.
Excellent, waiting for updates. :victory:
Just three more settings and the app will be perfect, lookscreen notifications, multiple notifications and wake up screen when incoming notification.
Is it possible to have floating notifications ONLY in full screen apps?
Can a quick reply be configured for text messages?
Works great so far.
A few feature suggestions:
-Open notification with single click
-View headsup notification in expanded mode by default
Keep up the work!
Hey man great app, could you add an option to not show the content of the message/notification? I wouldn't like the content to be displayed to my friends when they use my phone for a bit .
Sort of like a privacy option.
Thank you.
Great app! working on Moto G, I would like to see a privacy option aswell. Good work! :good:
Is it possible to disable notifications from showing in the status bar so that only heads up notifications show?
Here is the change log for beta 3 so far:
Code:
* Fixed problem of notification showing when device is off.
* Fixed problem of notifications showing over lockscreen.
* Fixed bug that caused notification history to crash if not small icon is associated with notification.
* Fixed bug that caused crash when trying to view expanded notification.
* Added an unselect all and select all options to whitelist and blacklist.

This is a feature I would really like to add to the app but I have not yet found any solution that will allow the notification service to determine if the currently showing app is in full screen mode or not. If anyone knows how to detect if the currently showing apps is in fullscreen mode from a service please let me know!

Awesome work, thanks!
I noticed something earlier when using my phone in landscape. The headsup notification is still the same width as if it were portrait instead of filling the screen.

Currently I have it set so if the device is in landscape mode the it will make the notification half the size of the screen because on tablets I though it looked kinda distracting if the notification took up the whole top up the screen in landscape. I'll go ahead and add a setting to this off.
Nice work!
In the first time, i would say thanks to :

Is this for snapdragon? What about cdla earphones? IR? Quick charge? Please answer
The Presentation of features makes it rich and quite a head turner.
Currently i cudnt find any posts with neither with screenshots or any current bugs.
I guess without a visual representation ,it will be little be missing the OOOMPH factor.
The contributors are very well known guys trying to keep the x526 as a special device effective, Please consider my above pointers.
TIA
Can anyone tell me about the battery life on this ROM? For moderate usage.
