Google pay working? - Huawei Mate 30 Pro Questions & Answers

I have a question. I have got gpay installed and I am at the stage where from app crashing to app asking for card details. Does it mean it will work? Not that I use it but just wondering where it ends for people who say gpay doesn't work. Maybe something I can help with!

Opening the app works. What doesn't work is adding a card to use in store payment.

Due to not being certified by Google.

Yup almost everyone without success

Google pay won't work unless America stopped ban Huawei

Google Play In-app Purchasing Issues

Hello,
I recently bought a Chinese Redmi K30. I tried installing google apps using the installer from getapps, but the apps are out of date. So I opted to install them individually. Everything works fine except for the payment side.
My guess is something is either blocking or not connecting with the billing servers. In one game, I get an error code 200260 when I try to buy something. I get the same code when I use a Samsung S7 with no VPN.
I have clear cache and data from Google Play, Play Services, and even uninstalled everything and started again. Am I missing something?
Thank you in advanced.
Had the same issue with MIUI CN I think it's bc Google Play Protect is not certified on the device and therefore there's some app that won't be available & payment method screwed up bc of it. So I unlocked my BL, flashed MIUI.eu and my device is now Play Protect certified ?

[Issue] Couldn't complete your transaction Gift cards can only be used in the country where they were

"Couldn't complete your transaction Gift cards can only be used in the country where they were".
This is the error Im getting everytime when trying to purchase apps with play store.
Im rooted, have xposed, have tried to mock location, change ip with a reliable vpn. Im not in US.
Any workaround for this issue? Even a hard one?
Change your Google Play country:
1. Open the Google Play Store app .
2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.
3. Tap Settings - General Account and device preferences Country and profiles.
I am having the same issue, except with Indonesia. I previously bought IDR gift cards and could redeem them just fine, but since today that has no longer been working and I get the same error. The Google account has its store and region set to Indonesia and I have tried using a VPN to no avail. No clue how to fix this

Thats not a solution. Those who change their country in play store, will lose all of their balance and even access to the paid apps, books and games that they got before.
Check my next post
It's also not a solution because my country in those settings is already correct, and yet the gift card redemption doesn't work.

This. Google messed up. It seems in their ham fisted attempt to target scammers they ended up locking the play balances of untold thousands (perhaps more) of legitimate accounts.

Yes, credit and debit cards confirmed still work but that's not an adequate solution for many, especially those who already have substantial amounts of money in their play balance.
The issue only affects play gift cards and play balances. It even affects play balances that weren't necessarily filled using play gift cards in some cases, I'm told.
I choose not to willingly give out my bank CCs or real identity to scummy spyware companies like google anyways, so I have a prepaid visa gift card set as alternate form of payment.. this form of payment remains unaffected by google's recent gaffe.

I rarely use pay apps. I have 4 on the phone.
Package Disabler and Poweramp are needed the other two I could ditch.
Best to feed the beast as little as possible (meaning Google Playwhore).
Google can't do much to a MC or Visa at least in the US as your assets are protected.

Poweramp is def worth ponying up for. I think the dev even has a non-google payment option with a separate non-google variant of the apk. That's the way to go for sure, but I also understand he probably gets more volume of sales through the play store than through his own site's vendor process. Nature of the beast.
As for payment, walking into a store and putting cash on an unregistered mc or visa debit/gift card is simple enough and works for most online purchases with the exception of subscriptions/recurring billing. If all I wanted was a $6 app for instance I would just load $10 on the card. Better to risk compromising pocket change than to risk compromising your checking account. Plus it's anon if you follow the correct opsec procedures.

Nope but I also don't live in Indonesia, I am guessing this change in Google policy is targeted at people like me. My Play Store region is set to Indonesia, I have tried using a VPN in Indonesia and setting my GPS location to Indonesia all at the same time, but Google still somehow detects that I am not in Indonesia. No clue how to activate my cards.

Question Google Pay (unsupported country, will app will be pre-installed?)

Hello!
If I am living in an unsupported country Google pay app probably by default won't be visible inside the watch? (the same thing was with Samsung pay on Galaxy Watch 3). Or does this model already has a pre-installed Google pay app in all regions and we just need to have a valid credit card?
If not, is it possible somewhere to change the region of the watch or better purchase the UK/DE version instead of my countries version?
Thanks!
No, Google pay isn't preinstalled.
Will it be possible to install it like on mobile device and use it?
I am also living in unsupported country but it I can user google pay on mobile phone with apk installation...
Could be possible..

I tried sideloading the GPay app to the Watch via ADB and its working!
I'm from Portugal and it let me add my Revolut card with no issues.
I've not tried to pay with it yet but at least GPay is opening and showing the card.
I'll update tomorrow when i try.

I might have jumped the gun on this one. After a few hours the Watch disables GPay, and its has to be enabled again via Samsung Wearable. When this happens I can no longer select GPay as a payment method in NFC settings. I'll keep investigating, but it seems its not a permanent solution...

Hi! Could you please share the Gpay version that you've used and also the region set on your watch? I've tried sideloading multiple Gpay versions and while I was able to install it, it always crashes when I try to open it. Really curious to learn more about your particular setup.
After changing my watch's region to UK and sideloading this version of Google Pay to it, I was finally able to make it work (I'm in the Netherlands, where it's not officially supported on wearabels).
Were you able to pay with it?
I set mine Watch's region to Germany and sideloaded the Gpay app on the phone. I was able to add a N26 card (it didn't pick up the existing card I had), but after a while it simply was not in my watch's app drawer anymore. I was able to re-enable it in the Galaxy Wearable app and tried to pay with it, which failed (could have been the store I was at).
But now the Gpay app is gone again and I'm unable to re-enable it heh.
Ok. Installed gpay via adb, configured my visa. No problem or error until now. Later I will try to pay with my watch and see what happens.
After few hours gpay app is gone from my watch, and can't push it back via adb. Adb says "succes" but it doesn't apear in my watch . I read on internet that a VPN could solve the problem, I'm studing this option now...

I reset my watch and picked UK, then installed GPay from the Play store on the watch (which looks like it's the same version as the one you posted `2.135.389276953`) and GPay app still gets disabled after a while. Is the secret to side-load it instead of installing it from the Play Store ?
UPDATE: nope, still gets disabled and removed from the home screen even after sideloading
Same story here.
I have an LTE model. When initializing it doesn't list the Western European regions for selection. However I have a UK google account as well next to the primary.
Through that I am able to install Google Pay, through the watch from the Play Store, initialize it and use it.
Until it gets disabled.
The important part here is that is is not removed but disabled only.
Meaning, if I want to pay with the watch, I can find it in the play store on the watch again and enable it. Then it will work for a period.
I can live with this but it is hardly optimal....
So basically there aren't any working solutions to make Gpay working smoothly...

Yes, for me it is baffling that they are taking care of such important features as writing a process to block modules... when there is plenty there to improve upon... Like who cares if you have Samsung Pay or Google Pay on your watch? If you don't have a compatible credit card you are F..d anyway. Samsung own Messages app is bundled next to Google's. I use the later to have RCS, since Samsung does that feature region locked as well.... can I remove Samsung's Messaging app? Only if I purge it with ADB... otherwise it remains. But not the payment apps.... sigh. bonkers.

Question google wallet error

Device doesn't meet security requirements
Is your device rooted or do you have adb enabled? If the device is rooted you need to do some things to hide it. If your device is not rooted, maybe check to make sure adb is disabled.
Like the comment above says, if you're rooted with Magisk, install this and it should start working fine after wiping the app.

What's the point of Google Wallet when there's Google Pay? The Pixel 7 setup kinda tried to make you download Wallet instead of Pay. Isn't Wallet just a piece of Pay that they took out?

Is this when you're trying to pay with Wallet or just setting up the app?
If it's while trying to pay, it might be because you unlocked your phone via face unlock before paying. You might have to unlock with the fingerprint scanner to make sure it works.
Might not be your issue here and I hate to say it but man, the fact that this is an issue at all makes me mad, for any regular user such an error would make absolutely no sense, and you would never understand it unless someone tells you.

I am rooted and wallet is working. Here is how I have set mine up:
Magisk installed:
Zygisk enabled
Enforce Denylist enabled
Denylist blocking: Wallet, Pay, Google Play Services, and some other banking apps.
Install the Safetynet Fix module from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-module-universal-safetynet-fix-2-3-1.4217823/post-87198517
Then install the MagiskHidePropsConfig module. (No need to configure it).
Force quit Wallet and wipe its data.
For quite and wiped data for Google Play Services.
Reboot
Then added card.
Those were the only modules that I needed. Maybe disable anything else you don't need while doing this in case they conflict.

I think Pay has transitioned to being an app to send money to friends/family/etc like Venmo. I haven't used it since its split with Wallet, though.

As I understand it, Wallet holds all your "cards" like loyalty cards, gift cards, and transportation passes (metro, train, bus) -- hence "wallet" -- while GPay handles the credit cards for transactions for in-store/shops.
I guess Wallet is the app while GPay might be classified as the process...

Yes I noticed that GPay is transitioning to be like Venmo. I haven't used GPay in a long time, but since setting it up on my P7P, it was pushing hard to set things up so I could "easily send/receive payments to my family & friends" (like Venmo, i imagine...)...

Just an FYI, but Wallet is just a part of GPay. What @Curiousn00b had said earlier in this thread is correct. GPay can do everything that Google Wallet does - and more. So therefore, GPay can handle credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, loyalty cards, transit passes, tickets, etc.
The reason why Google has released the Google Wallet app - an app specifically for adding your payment cards, transit cards, loyalty cards, etc - is because a large swarm of people were complaining about GPay being too difficult to use (as the newer features were seemingly confusing to the less tech-knowledgeable folks - which is still around 75-80% of the global population). Google had announced this publicly on a blog post around 1-2 years ago.

Post #2 - Unlocking Bootloader / Rooting / Updating | SafetyNet | ADB/Fastboot & Windows USB Drivers:
SafetyNet
Hello,
I have a successfully rooted Pixel 7 and the November update.
Magisk modules:
AOSP Mods (Full version)
Call Recorder - SKVALEX
Systemless Hosts
Universal safety Net fix
Zygisk - LSPosed
DenyList contains enabled:
Google Wallet
Google Play Protect service
com.android.systemui.plugin.globalactions.wallet
Play Integrity API Checker
Everything was fine until now, but when I open Wallet today, I get the following information:
"Device doesn't meet security
requirements You can't tap to pay with this device. It may be rooted or running uncertified software. Contact your device manufacturer or visit Google Wallet Help for more info."
My cards were not removed, it seems that the wallet is functional, but this information worries me. This information is not displayed every time when the wallet application is turned on. Everything else works for me (banks, netflix...), I go through safetynet.
I have one more question.
I don't know exactly how these things work...
How about the safetynet? Could it happen that one day GooglePay and Bank apps will stop working for me without an OS update or some other magisk module installation??
If it works for me now, and I don't do an OS update, will it still work for me?
I ask because these applications are very important for my daily work and I can't afford to be surprised by a malfunction at an inopportune moment due to root.
Thank you very much!

I have Play Store, GPay, and Google Wallet on the DenyList and don't have this error.
And yes, Google can easily decide one day to bypass the DenyList or force hardware attestation at which point you would have to choose between your apps and root. It's been a whack a mole game for awhile now and that's just expected to become worse.

If you turn off updates, it's extremely unlikely that it would change, but you're also taking added risk when it comes to exploits and I wouldn't recommend this path.
are we talking about an application or OS update?
If it can stop working for me after the next OS update (via pixelflasher, for example), then that is acceptable for me.
But if it can happen to me after an automatic update of the application via Google Play, it's a problem.
Sorry for possibly stupid questions, I'm trying to understand how it works.
Thank you very much for your help and giving of your time.

Either can happen. There are ways to detect root that get past our attempts to hide it as it is so an app update can add further detection easily. Just ask my Security Service Federal Credit Union app that won't even open on a rooted phone no matter what I do.
Can I "quickly unroot" it by uninstalling magisk? Does it wipe my data? I want rooted, but I need planB in a crisis situation.
Thx for your reply!
Users with root are not afraid of the situation that they ask for a bill in a restaurant and Gpay won't work for them?

Unfortunately removing root just exposes the unlocked bootloader and GPay won't work with that condition either. It's why I rooted in the first place so I could pass SafetyNet again as Discover is 5% with mobile wallet this quarter.
I carry credit cards with me everywhere I go. It's only recently I've started using tap to pay as it wasn't really available in the Denver area. Even now I can only thing of a couple places that take it - namely the liquor store I go to with my husband lol. Interestingly I went to Dollar Tree yesterday and they have added it.
So if I want to unroot, I will lose data, because after re-locking the bootloader, the data is wiped. I'm right?

Correct. Honestly I wouldn't say you're at immediate risk of having an issue and that dumping root and all that just for a remote possibility isn't worth it.
You can also turn off automatic app updates for the individual apps in the Play Store. As long as you leave automatic updates on for the rest of your apps, the ones you disable individually will just be sitting there showing updates and you can choose to update them when you're ready.

Question Add credit cards to Watch Google Wllet

I have no issues adding the credit cards to P7P Google Wallet, but for 2 cards I had to use the specific app.
I'd have to add them to the Wallet of Pixel Watch, but I get an error if I do it from the Wallet app, as I had if I did it on the phone.
Unluckily there are no specific Wear OS banking apps for those cards...
I had to contact Google support, it seems a common issue. They fixed my account and now it works flawlessly.

Actually yes, but I wasn't at the time of the issue. Wallet is working fine if you hide root.
As I posted before, Google assistance solved what it seemed to be a problem of my account.
I have the same problem and can´t add card to the watch. I have a Xiaomi 11 ultra with chinese rom, managed to put google wallet working well on the phone but can´t add a card to the watch. Simply it says that cannot connect to phone.
How did you solve the issue? don´t know if it was the same problem but is worth to try..
