AOD settings in MIUI 12? - General Questions and Answers

In MIUI 12, is there any option to make AOD ONLY active when I have new notifications, just like the good old notification LED?. The purpose of this question is that I don't want AOD to be running 24/7 coz I barely get notifications, and at the same time, I don't want to turn AOD off completely which will force me to unlock my phone just to check for any notifications.

Notification popup with preview on AOD.?

Hi all I've just made the switch again from iOS to Android last Android being a note 3.
Really loving the s8+ such a nice device. One thing I do miss from iOS is whenever I get any notification the screen turns on with the notification and a small preview.
At the minute I keep missing emails as all I get is a icon with no preview on the always on display.
Is there anyway of having all notifications popup and either turn the screen on with the notification (Samsung bubble popup) or have a preview on the AOD
Thanks

Yes there is.... Just turn off AOD and install for free from playstore "glimpse notification".It just do exactly what you want. I had it on s7 edge, Note 7 and now on S8+ and is working perfectly with more less battery consumption from AOD. You will not see any deference in you battery consumptiont. Just activate it, give him all permissions deactivate app notification (you only need notification from all other apps) and from settings choose as white list which apps you want to turn screen on (to show notifications) and click to led notification light to work together, run the test and you are done.
It's working perfect and all the times
Thanks I'll check it out
Just having a play with this and it works well. I do like the always on display though. Will this work with that still enabled?
Thanks

I think that yes it must work...just try it out, but maybe with this 2 activated you will notice deference in battery consumption

how do you disable peek heads up notifications in 8.0?

in nougat, you could set app priority for notifications, but of course Google in all its wisdom completely removed a feature to turn off a "feature" that so many of us can't stand. if you disable heads up via adb, it ruins the ambient display in that it won't light up when a message comes through anymore... don't ask me why, but Google is full of morons coding nowadays. anyone have any idea?

First time in android lollipop devices introduces heads up (Peeking) notification feature. When enable this feature, you can see notification on home screen. In android Oreo, you can also reply from home screen without open app. In android 8.1 Oreo devices, you can disable interruptions of app if you don’t want to show pop up notifications on screen, sound and vibrate when receive any app notification. Different android device has slightly different settings to turn off peeking notification in android 8.0 and 8.1 Oreo. Also disable heads up notifications on android Oreo 8.1

Notifications in Lock Screen

How to prevent notifications appearing in Lock Screen of Realme 5 Pro with Stock Rom and unlocked Bóotloader?±
Settings→notifications&status bar→allow notification bar in lockscreen(turn off).
Idk
I tried everyting - turn off batery saver, battery optimization, allow floating notifications, allow background apps, turn off app freeze, notification wake up just everything... and I can' t receive notifications on screen off. It' s so stuped!
What more I can do ?
My phone is a Realme Q

Issues with horizon lighting

For some reason I can't get horizon light notifications to work on my OnePlus 7 Pro on Android 10.3.0. When I receive a notification (SMS, for example), my screen turns on and shows the notification on my lockscreen. I don't want this, I only want ambient display & horizon light to come on. Here are screenshots of my settings... Am I missing something? I found an answer somewhere else that animations must be enabled, and I've verified that mine are enabled both in accessibility & developer options.

Android 12, disable wake for notifications

I bought a new phone, that comes with Android 12, it has an amoled display (moto G42), but notifications keep waking up the screen (the always on display). Before updating the OS there was an option to disable that and it worked, after updating the option is gone, and it's annoying the hell out of me, it even wakes for silent notifications, does anyone know how to disable that?
I've rooted the phone in hopes to enable doubletap to wake and disable completely the AOD but the kernel does not support it.
TIA
maybe open this in your devices Xda section?
