Global ROM? UK usage

Hi all.
I know the 8th November Xiaomi UK launch is rumoured to include the Mi Mix 3, but I'm not confident that it will. Besides, if it does it will probably be priced in line with other handsets oof similar spec in the UK.
I'm thinking of buying one from a Chinese source such as AliExpress or Gearbest, but I'm now questioning if I'll be able to load a global ROM on it or not?

Does anyone know if this is the case? When I got my original MIX I was able to flash Global with no problems.

You can flash a global rom on a China device, but you can't relock bootloader

Ok thanks... So if you can't re-lock the bootloader, I guess apps like Google Pay won't work?

Sorry for the double post.
Do you have any detail about that? Or a source?
My original Mix 1 bootloader was unlocked, Global flashed, and then re-locked.
Has this changed recently?

Yes it seems a recent change.. Maybe you can have Google pay running with Magisk hider?

Thanks for your help. I believe the UK release is rumoured to be the Mi 8 Explorer. So I will probably order a CN Mix 3 and hope that the China ROM is fully compatible with the UK after GAPPS are installed.
I don't think UK apps such as google pay, and most mobile banking apps, will work if the bootloader is unlocked. But I may be wrong. Anyone know?

Banking apps (atleast mine) run fine on a bootloader unlocked rooted device. I didn't try Google pay

I also have an unlocked bootloader on my Mi Mix and have no issues with Banking apps (when using Magisk).

Mine should be here anyday, with mi mix I have no problems with any apps, Los 16 coming soon apparently for mi8, which will need minimum twerking to work on mix 3, don't forget there's also twrp to test. How I can unlock instantly

Think if you get the 256/8gb you are covered for everything, which network you on. I'm on EE/bt even get volte

Yeah EE. How about the ROM, any issue with just selecting english when you boot the phone up. Can you download google services or do I need to tinker with it a bit more

I got mines today and no problem with selecting English, you can install play services easily with Google installer 3.0 apk.
Might need to set some apps as system apps to ensure notifications come through straight away.

This and maybe EU rom out soon, tomorrow global without unlock if you believe the rumors

You guys think there's going to be major hardware differences with the new Global 5g version coming out in 2019 (besides the 5g capability of course) ?OR the rest of the specs should be the same? I'm not sure on ordering one now or wait for the global one to be released. But I'm assuming that the 5g should be more expensive.

Same everything works.

I have the mi mix 3 Chinese version 256gb.. Love the phone but I can't get Google Assistant to work. I read in another post that we have to root the phone but I think the Global version will have it all preinstalled and allow the Xiaoai button to control OK Google... This is honestly the only thing I'm waiting for assuming we're able to flash the Global rom on top of the Chinese one...

There are some workarounds to get assistant working on Chinese rom. I had no issues w assistant except using ok Google voice command. EU room has it mapped to AI button.

Simply download gmail app if it is not pre installed, then login with your credentials. Open play games app which would be pre installed or you can download it via play store and login with the same credentials.
Open any game and it is connected to the play games.

I bought a Chinese version of Huawei Honor 20i. I didn't find the Google Play Store in my smartphone and would like to install the Play Store, but I didn't find a tutorial or guide. Does anyone know a procedure for installing the Play Store? If someone also knows how to literally change the rom, I'm willing to change it.

I had the same issue and I got it fixed by having the chinese honor 20i converted to Honor 10i global version by https://ministryofsolutions.com/ After that, Play Store comes pre-installed and other Google apps work. To convert the phone you must downgrade EMUI 10 to EMUI 9.1 using a computer with HiSuite.

To fix the Google Play Store not working problem and all bloatware chinese apps removal from Huawei Honor 20i, you must have the phone converted to Honor 10i global version. Note: Honor 20i and Honor 10i are the same phone. To have the phone converted you must first downgrade EMUI 10 to EMUI 9.1 using HiSuite installed on a computer. Then https://ministryofsolutions.com/ can convert the chinese Honor 20i to Honor 10i global version that has Google Play Store pre-installed and no chinese bloatware apps.

Sell it, buy international one = easiest way.
Software method: unlock bootloader and convert it but seem you can not do it now
Anyway I love to use Chinese version more than international one: intergrated high quality call recorder and get updates earliest

I don't know why you want to change the Chinese version to an International one: The Chinese one has call recorder, video recording at 7680 fps and receives the software updates very fast and before than the International one.

Lo guys.i found a link from huawei chinese forum for latest harmony for Mate 30 pro 5g..took me 3 days to dl due to low speed from server.Question how should install it?P.S .if anyone wants it inform me so ill upload it to mega or Gdrive..

Havent found for p40 pro..even the link for mate has disappeared from cn forum.it is uploaded on "115.com" cloud.difficult to have access on it.i did it via cn sim card i got.but my Q is how to install it??

Other operating systems have already tried and they have all FAILED.
Even I need to download apps for my work that I can't use if I don't have Google services installed ... and downloading them from Petal Search is absolutely worthless because they don't work without the libraries and Google Services components.

Need to use myHuawei app which is the equivalent of support on international devices, the beta app allows you to join beta programs from what I understand, the sign ups for the beta was on the forum I thought... If you have a cn device you can still get it upgraded to hos 2.0 check yt

I have a Huawei P40 ANA-LX4. Base version is ANA-LGRP2-OVS. Version is 10.1.0.173 now. I want to downgrade and install Google, somehow I couldn't find any firmware is for my model. Do you guys have any idea that I can downgrade my phone. Can I install ANA-NX9 firmware?? Appreciated!! Cheers!

no you can not downgrade. that may be the initial version on P40 and no google out of the box. only way to get it is install googleThere are videos on youtube on how to do that.

I installed dualspace, but it's not every apps can open. That's why I want to downgrade and install google service

You can not install firmware from other variants. It will fail.
This can only be done via rebranding which is not possible anymore due to no bootloader codes. Also, this device was launched without Google so no official ways but only other tweaks.
