It is more fluid than with Android 9, it brings a new function to show notifications with the screen off and illuminates the edge of the screen with the color of the application that received a message or Things like that, the battery is not going to fully discharge it yet and I'll see how it is.

1. Nice and fluid mostly
2. Previously purchased theme no longer works
3. The tabbed settings option is gone
4. Enabling split screen apps isn't nearly as easy as it was before.
5. Phone slower to boot up
6. Some odd screen glitches (blanks out sometimes) when pulling down notification area
Overall, not impressed and wish I didn't take the update.

microsoft patch tuesday update

Just read on Microsoft news that were due a big update today,so just done a scan and indeed there were 13 updates ranging from flash to a hardware update but by mistake I press the update button so I didn't actually see what all the rest of the patches actually did it came in at about 120mb anyone got any info as mine currently downloading
I didn't get the "System Firmware Update - 12/11/2012" until after installing the other updates so be sure to scan for new updates a second time after rebooting.

I had a "System Hardware Update - 2012/12/11", and it was available in the first list of updates. No "System Firmware Update" after the first updates.
Can now have more columns on start screen.

You can't, it's a bug.
You can just tilt your screen

Can you see if you are still able to lock screen rotation via the brightness menu?
[UPDATE]
For some reason my screen got stuck in one direction, and the rotation lock button also disappeared. A quick reboot and she's buzzing along.

Agreed. I rebooted once and it looked like this for about a half hour
Oh, and it does appear that multitasking/switching apps works a little smoother for extended periods

You still can.
Just applied the update, not noticing any difference yet, except that IE10 asked me if I wanted to re-apply recommended safety settings, to which I said no, because I have turned off MS's flash whitelist so I can use the Napster website.
Haven't noticed any difference to tell you the truth, in fact mine seems a little slower
mine is a lot faster... placebo maybe? but i bet it is faster..

I am on a VIVO Tab RT and I noticed faster performance on my tablet as well.
I'm still unable to connect to my TV with a third-party MicroHDMI-HDMI cable, so I guess I was expecting Microsoft to correct this issue...
Can't say I notice any difference in performance either.

Nexus 6 Active Display?

What are the chances of the Nexus 6 having the active display like the Moto X?

Id say Zero, that's a Motorola-Only feature.
Also, Leaked images show the display is LCD, not AMOLED.
I'm not sure, I'm still holding out hope for a super amoled

Yes and no. AOSP is bare bones. Stock has a little more Google over and above gapps, but not a great deal
Features from moto and lg that we don't get are proprietary software with hardware dependencies too, so no we won't get them on the nexus X

Fortunately there are many 3rd party options from the Play Store such as:
DynamicNotifications
AcDisplay
Active Display
Keep in mind only OLED panels can disable individual pixels. Other LCDs require the full screen to be on or off at all times so these could cause considerable battery drain.

Franco isn't the dev of Peek app but a colombian guy. The app content has been transfered to this guy BTW and the original app is just an unlocker tool now.

Looks like PA (moreso, ROMs based off it, or ones that cherry-picked built-in Peek) need to update the code that disables built-in Peek when the app is installed, to reflect the new package name (rather than the unlocker). lol
So the real question would be what are the chances of active display being included in L? which there havent been any signs of it in the preview build so again not looking good.

None. ActiveDisplay is a proprietary Motorola software. Google very rarely have added alternatives to complex proprietary functions. It's not completely unheard of (quick tiles for example) but for something that has a hardware limitation and dependency, no way

Even if they did (which they won't because that's owned by Motorola) it would be restricted to OLED screens only. Only OLED screen phones have ever had such functionality built in, such as the Moto X and certain Nokia Windows Phones with Glance support.
What's wrong with using one of the many 3rd party options?
I used DynamicNotifications on my Nexus 5 over 6 months ago. It was buggy and quirky.
My phone would get hot in my pocket and I pulled it out to see whats going on. DynamicNotifications was turning my screen on and off repeatedly for some reason. I don't know how Motorola handles the phone lock but DynamicNotifications' way of locking the phone isn't secure. If I disable the system's security lock and enable DN's, it could be bypassed by turning off the phone and turning back it. It isn't as bullet proof as the system's.

Did you try any of the other options? I listed a couple but there are many more.
I have not tried the other two options. They were not feature complete at the time.
Right now, I am using Gravity Screen which does everything I need, except for the "breathing" notification.

my p8max mod

here my p8max (DAV-701L)
1: changed Displayglas to a black one, now complete black the front
2: removed a little bit the black color from the back of the glas to see more of the LED
(i dont know why huawei makes a 0.001mm hole for the LED)
3: non-glare (matt) Screen-Protector
Now its my dream phone (first i want buy the xiaomi max but the white front is an absolutely NO-GO)
ROM now: Android 6.0, DAV-703LC233B211 (no KangVip!) changed all to Google: Google Dialer, Contact,
Voice recording, double tap wake up and double tap to sleep (sleep i do with Nova Launcher)
No problems with Notifications coz on boot i ran one script with inside: dumpsys deviceidle disable
Now the phone is really nice and running really 100% stable!
Please dont ask on which way i put this rom on the 701, many month i try so much and i have so much
trouble and so many boot-loops ... but one day all is good. I dont know why but its working super nice.
But really i try so much, maybe flashing more then 80x times different roms and so on ...
greets, Peter
Wow nice job! It looks great. Still waiting here for a big black phone with nice specs. Yes the Z Ultra is black and kinda big, but that one is too told. I have high hopes for the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra.

How much screen on time do you get? I have a 701L I was thinking about selling it, but if I can squeeze more performance and fix notifications i'd be satisfied I think. How do I run the script?

You are the second person to say that. Obviously I'm getting much less than you guys. I think it has to do with the apps I have running. What system apps have you guys disabled/removed? That'd be a big help to me if you don't mind.

I'm not having any issues, and battery life improved significantly. Especially with Bluetooth on, it doesn't drain like it did in beta 1. I think it's ready for release, and I think Essential should start working on features beyond stock. Improve their camera, or just licence the Oneplus Camera.
Has anyone tried porting the Paranoid Android Camera?

Ask me any question about the 1+6

Like the title says, ask me whatever you want about the 1+6. This could be useful if you are considering to buy this amazing phone!
Debating between this phone and the mi mix 2s. By all counts the OP will have better development, and the headphone jack is a plus. The mix really has style and wireless charging. But unconfirmed reports that Android pay didn't work. Does Android pay work on a stock OP? Is it seen as certified on the Google store (can I play Netflix?). I don't plan on rooting or installing an after market ROM until later in life (if OP stops supporting it). Also how does OP handle the warranty in the US? Basically there isn't one on the mi mix 2s which is a big minus.
I'm coming from a LG V20 so I debate whether or not to upgrade at all considering it has almost everything lol

Q: Does Android pay work on a stock OP?
A: Yes! Google pay works with the Oneplus 6
Q: Is it seen as certified on the Google store?
A: Sort answer, yes. I didn't have any problems with the Google play store on my device.
Q: Can I play Netflix?
A: yes, Netflix works fine on my device.
Q: How does OP handle the warranty in the US?
A: I'm not sure, I haven't looked into this yet. I'll keep you up to date if I know more information about your question. But I'm pretty sure the warranty is alright.
Some extra information:
- Don't let the 1080p screen hold you back. The screen is gorgeous and you won't see the pixels.
- Screen on time is about 4 and a half hours with average usage.
- Dash charge does what it's promised to do.
- The Oneplus 6 is for my small hands a two handed phone.
I hope I answered all your questions well!
Best regards,

Hi! I'm planning on making the OP6 my first OnePlus Device.
I also plan on getting the 6T later as well. I know that seems pointless. But I like have 2 major devices from a company for a years run..
Anyway, I know the phone is brand new and we have to see how things go, but, do you think there will be ROM support for this device? Given that it had the dual partition system (A&B style) would it be worthwhile to get the OP6 for ROMs right now?
My only want is to Root & ROM the phone. I have a LG G6 & V30, both from T-Mobile and have no dev supoort or ROMs. I like them both but I miss LineageOS and that's actually why I'm buying the OP6.
In your opinion, should I expect to see ROMs like LineageOS for OP6 or should I just wait and get the 6t.
I'm just trying to justify it to myself, especially now that the Nylon bumper case is sold out and that's the one I wanted. Ha, minor detail holding me back. Obviously I'll snag a Karbon Bumper hopefully..

Wow is that the reason they say they removed fp gestures? This didn't make sense because it's the same size as the fp sensor on the s8 and so she fp features work on those devices. So I wonder if this new sensor just doesn't support gestures or if it can be added back in from a custom rom?

First of all I must excuse me. Because I live in the Netherlands, my phone's language is set to Dutch.
First go to you security settings, then press the little settings circle. Now you should see some sort of a timer. Change this timer value to something more then 0 sec (instant lock). Ow and toggle the instant lock slider for when you press the power button
