Please help! S10e can't enter download mode... - Samsung Galaxy S10e Questions & Answers

Please help!
Hello! This is a distress call, because I think I brickered my S10e, through my own fault ...
Trying to install the TWRP according to the instructions given in the Hades Rom, I made two unforgivable mistakes, since years of flashing roms ...
1) I took the wrong installation file (I have the G970F/DS, and flash the beyond2lte file, instead of beyond0lte)
2) I omitted to force boot of TWRP just flashed.
Result: I cannot enter download mode as I did before (the phone does not blink), and trying to enter recovery, out of 20 attempts, it only turned on 2 times and does not go beyond the warning screen that the oem is unlocked, and it is not a safe state. I press power to continue as it says, and the screen turns off. Of course it doesn't start normally with the power button either.
I found out recently that been connected to the PC, it is recognized by it, and I even could access to it though the Windows explorer... Ergo, it's not dead, but the screen is in the infamous "black screen of death". Tried the usb jig emulator, by sugestion of denon480, but it didn't work (see screen capture).
Is there a way to force it into download mode, to flash the correct recovery, or eventually an official firmware? The cell phone is immaculate, I can not resign myself to it turns paperweight !!!!!
I put this here, because the problem was in TWRP recovery flashing, I didn't arrived to the Hades ROM installing process, and this way I can reach more people...
I appreciate any help.
Cheers

I don't even think it is possible to brick Samsungs like that. Are you following the right steps to download mode? Ergo,
Step 1 – Turn OFF your Galaxy S10.
Step 2 – Now press and hold the following buttons on your phone together: Volume Down + Bixby Button.
Step 3 – Next, plug in one end of the USB-C cable to a computer and the other end to the phone. As soon as you will connect, your phone will power on.

I have the same problem. I do not know if the OEM unlocking has something to do with that as I can not turn on OEM although it is not missing but it is not active and can not be turned on. I tried all the solution available online but it looks like no one knows what to do even the so called experts know nothing at all and the only things they know is the direct easy way. So disappointed

Same problem here... any solutions?

How to unbrick the soft bricked Captivate

NOTE:
So far this has been the only sure fire method I've found to 100% get around any brick situation regardless of firmware, etc. This only works for the captivate, not any other galaxy s variant.
Situations: phone-!-Computer / no download mode
Black Screen / RST_STATUS 0x0
Procedure:
1. Remove the battery, external SD card and SIM card.
2. Wait 10 seconds.
3. Open odin3
4. Connect usb cable.
5. Hold volume up + volume down + Power.
6. Insert battery.
7. Release POWER BUTTON ONLY.
You should now be in immediate download mode.
Please forgive me if this is duplicate some where, but I tried every procedure I could find on google to no avail, then accidentally found this method just before I was going to box it back up and see if my buddy at AT&T would make me eat it or not.
My situation was: Launched Odin3 to flash H3 firmware, died twice in the middle, and on the third time locked up half ways just at the beginning of factoryfs.rfs -- Then the phone did nothing. Blackscreen is all. Interestingly enough, while in the state if you hold volume up + power, it will give a hw diagnostic screen. Beyond that I could get no where. Just a black screen, no acknowledgement when connected to PC, no charging indicator, nothing.
If this is a dupe Im sorry but this method I could not find and hope to make it readily available to people who may think their phones bricked.
Update 12/22/2010:
How to BRICK the phone / WARNING!!!
If for whatever reason you decide to use Odin to flash a stock GTI9000 ROM and manually add the kernels and modems using a "pure" 2.2.1 sammy rom. BEWARE.
Researching a lot, it seems the consensus is that the sbl in the 2.2.1 versions of the GTI9000 has *hard* download mode crippled.. Meaning if there is a software screw up YOU CANNOT USE A USB JIG OR ANY OTHER METHOD OF GETTING THE PHONE IN DOWNLOAD MODE!!! To fix it you'll need a new one or JTAG to replace the bootloader.
As far as I can tell, beyond getting completely rid of the AT&T logo, there is no need to flash boot/sbl to get the "purity" of the 2.2.1 sammy roms.
Extract all files from the tar EXCEPT boot/sbl and re-tar and flash just those to avoid overwriting the stock captivate boot loader.
Also, it does not appear the boot/sbl from the captivate 2.2 leak suffers this same problem.
For any one iffy on bricking their phones, stay away from roms that remove COMPLETELY the AT&T logo on boot. This generally means the boot loader has been messed with any you may be screwed if you soft brick the phone. Most CWM roms dont overwrite the boot/sbl, but some can and do. Watch yourself.. if it the AT&T logo goes away COMPLETELY, I recommend flashing JF6 with One click while the roms alive using adb reboot download and try another rom.
thanks!
worked...took a few tries but some trick with this captivate to get it into download mode.. i was totally bricked too, diag screen with PC/Phone icons and exclamation mark. for me 1.) plug usb, 2.) hold power and vol up/down and connect battery (it fell out) and i was in download mode
I guess a similar procedure was on the odin3 one click thread, but there is something different in your procedure, it's not my case but it would be nice if some people confirms this as this may be useful and if it really works it should be included in odin thread
What worked for me was: Pull the battery, sim and micro sd card. Open odin on the PC. Insert the battery. Hold vol up and down then with the buttons held connect the usb cable. Just remember to plug in the usb cable with the vol up and down held in and odin must be open on the computer.
I also ran into the vol up plus power red text screen. Interesting to note that one of the fields will change depending if the usb cable is connected or not.
mine is dead
mi samsung captivate was working great but, suddenly it go black and only the touch bottom have light, when i plug it in the a/c it show is charging. i'm mac user and a read that i ned to use odin3 but it not work on mac. how i can unbrick the phone???
is rooted with one click lag
the dbdata was modif to
thats all
HEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP
Odin will not open on the mac?
Cant you use a virtual machine and use Odin on a Mac that way?
Or else take the odin 3 single click for JF6 and use on a friends Windows Computer.
Please help - unable to flash back with Odin3
I have pretty much tried it all at this point and am trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I followed the directions just in case get to the big yellow triangle with the droid shoveling and the screen stays at "downloading, do not turn off target..."
Of course I had Odin3 open already but its not seeing my phone, USB drives are installed am using Odin3 ver. 1.30.
Any help would be appreciated, TIA!

Best way to get download mode is use adb and type adb reboot download.
Or follow the volume up/down held with odin open on the computer, then you plug in the usb cable to the computer.

Just sharing the info! Makes you think twice about trying something else don't it?
does not seem to work because as soon as my battery touches the contacts it goes to the diag screen. do I have to release the power button in super human speed times there?
looked at all threads here, looked elsewhere -- there are some that are not fixable. Wanted to add that in case others come here and think that they might be the only ones that can't get it to work.
Ended up sending mine off to Samsung to reset today. :/
I love you! I called AT&T to send me documentation to sign and it was going to cost me 125 dollars to get it replaced even with warranty. And you fixed it !
i have tried just about every single method detailed in these forums, and nothing works.
Trying what OP suggested just sends me to the battery charging animation screen.
Anybody have any ideas ?
file analysis
I keep can get to the download screen and I hit start and it does the same thing everytime it just does File analysis i cant figure what i am doing wrong here somebody please help me
I think the issue was it had something to do with 64 bit windows 7 i just re did the stock rom one click solution and it worked fine

Thank you for sharing your experience.
I don't have a Captivate yet but am doing research on it and hopeful of getting one. I am confused about one thing.
Every where that I have read about how to enter Recovery mode or Download mode on the Captivate using the 3 button method, it says holding down both Volume UP + Volume Down (plus Power button) will enter Recovery mode. But you say it enters Download mode which is confusing to me. As I recall, to enter Download mode you must press the Vol Down only (plus Power button). Could it be because the phone won't go into Recovery mode, it goes into Download mode instead? Am I missing something?
Thank you!
Download mode is for updating the phone's firmware.
Remove battery, plug in the usb cable to the phone, open ODIN on the computer (need usb drivers installed before hand) on the phone hold volume up and down then plug the phone into the computer. Your phone will say DOWNLOADING. This method works even if you run into problems and the phone refuses to boot properly.
Recovery mode is for installing Update.zip. The method is tricky but involves holding volume up/down and power, the phone will show ATT then go black. It will repeat that but after the second time it goes black let go of power.
If that doesnt work, android debug tools ADB reboot recovery will work even better.
Or root the phone and use Clockwork Rom manager to boot into recovery, just press the menu item.

Thank you askpcguy! I understand the difference between Download and Recovery modes.
So the procedural difference here is having the battery in + Power button, versus battery not in (use USB cable instead) and no Power button. Can the phone get power from the PC via the USB cable? This seems to differ from what the original poster said about download mode. Perhaps OP could edit his original post for clarification? Or am I still missing something? Thanks to all
The phone does get power from the USB cable.
The difference is one procedure uses the USB cable (download mode) and the other does not (Recovery mode).
The volume up+down method does not use the power button, the phone is powered on into download mode once you plug in the USB cable.
We say pull the battery to get the phone powered off. If a firmware flash stalled or doesn't complete, pull the battery and try again!
I now understand the precedural difference.
Thank you askpcguy!

SM-G955FD can only access Download Mode

Hello everyone,
I apologize that my first post is directly asking for help but I've spent days reading and trying to figure out my issue to no avail.
I have a SM-G955FD and a few days ago it just turned off (battery at 40% and charging) and wouldn't turn back again (stock firmware, never rooted).
Recovery Mode (Pwr + Volume Up + Bixby) doesn't do a thing (Black Screen)
Download Mode (Pwr + Volume Down + Bixby) opens the Download Menu, if I proceed (Volume Up) , the device shows up in Odin.
I tracked the same firmware I had to flash it and found it. I load up the BL,AP,CP & CSC and proceed with flashing the device through ODIN.
Everything completes and I get a "PASS" from ODIN. However, when my phone reboots I get a blank screen with no vibration or logo or anything, it seems as if rebooting is actually turning the phone off.
Do you have any suggestions on what I can do? The device is still under warranty but I'd rather try everything within my ability to try and fix it.
Thank you so much folks.
Edit #1: Took it to a Samsung Repair Center and they told me I've voided my warranty because I installed a custom firmware. I clearly show them the "Download Menu" and how it's clearly marked "Official" & the Warranty Void bit/hex is 0 (I only flashed the same exact firmware from Sammobile using Odin, nothing even related to rooting which they claimed I did). They tell me this doesn't matter and that it's now out of warranty and if a software flash doesn't work then they would have to charge me 380$ (American Dollars).
I have a gut feeling that it's a software related thing at this point but my realistic assumption is that since the power button isn't causing the phone to vibrate it's probably a hardware issue.
What do you guys think?
I really apologize for the long posts, but I'm really pissed since the phone is barely 6 months old and I bought it unlocked.

did you try soft reset ? this is how :
To soft reset a frozen Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus you need to hold the power button and the volume-down button for roughly 7 seconds. Let go of the buttons once you feel the device vibrate and see the Samsung Galaxy S8 logo on the screen. Your phone will then reboot, and hopefully, start working properly once again
One thing to note: On the forced reboot/soft reset, you will be given four (4) options. Use the volume keys to navigate, and the “Bixby” key to select. Option 1 will do a normal boot, as if you’re turning the device on.
i hope your phone work again... try another Samsung repair center and don't explain anything just told them that your phone worked fine and one morning this problem appears... and nothing else don't mention Odin flash or....
i think this its storage problem or a hardware fail...

Hi there! No solution other than changing the motherboard. Went to another repair center and they did that in less than 2 hours and around a day to complete the water test.

Unbricking HTC U12+

Hey guys - I hope you're doing well.
I recently got an HTC U12+, but wanted to try using a custom ROM due to all of the bloatware . Unfortunately I think I've ended up bricking my device. Here are some things I've since tried:
- Restoring to the backup I made beforehand in TWRP - restore works without any errors, but then just hangs at the boot screen
- Method 1 from this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/u12-plus/how-to/collection-htcu-u12-ruu-firmware-t3794664) - TWRP always says the zip files are corrupted for some reason
- Method 3 from that same thread - this actually worked before, but I tried installing a custom ROM again, somehow messed up again, and now this method no longer works as it just hangs at the "HTC" boot screen for eternity
- Both methods in this thread (https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-htc-firmware-ruu-and-zip/) - the first one leads to a "failed remote 99 ru unknown fail terrible mishap" error, and for some reason my PC doesn't see my phone when I try the second despite being able to see it in file manager
- Probably many other methods that I've now forgotten
I know this is a whole lot of information, but I'm in desperate need of some help. I typically like to troubleshoot things myself, but I've been trying to fix this for quite some time now and could definitely use another set of (much more experienced) eyes. I greatly appreciate any help you guys can provide.
Thanks.
Flash RUU with SD card method
Download RUU from here(important:check your CID): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wIRrVQawd5rD-t9VKPQ-SdRK20RcJVZhwD7lhmPIK8w/edit#gid=0
1. rename RUU to 2Q55IMG.zip
2. copy zip in the root of your sd card. - external card / not internal - it will not work
3. reboot to download mode,
4. your device will pick up the zip file and flash it.
5.follow on screen instructions and enjoy your RUU(this method erase all your data)
I'm having an issue with my u12+ where it just continually reboots to a message saying "The boot loader is unlocked and the software integrity cannot be guaranteed. Any data stored on the device maybe available to attackers, do not store sensitive data on this device" and then it shows the white HTC logo that says Powered by Android down the bottom of the screen, it stays like that for about 5 minutes and then reboots and does the same thing over again.
Holding the power down button does nothing, it will not turn off the phone. Holding power and volume down does nothing either. The phone just does this every 6 minutes and reboots and cycle and that's it.
I've tried putting the file 2Q55IMG_IMAGINE_DUGL_O80_SENSE10GP_hTC_Asia_TW_1.53.709.1_Radio_sdm845-000201b-1807311356_release_531499_signed_2_4.zip (renamed to 2Q55IMG.zip) on the root of a 8gb Fat32 formatted SD card, but I just can't get into recovery or download mode.
I've tried holding down all 3 side buttons for minutes, or just the power button, or combination of buttons, they all do nothing to the phone. (it's as tho they are disabled, but sometimes holding a combination of the 3 will make the phone vibrate a little bit, but in no particular time or order)
When the phone is in either state (locked bootloader message or white HTC logo) my Windows 10 PC sees the phone plugged in as a "USB Input Device", not an Android Phone or Android Device. So using ADB or Fastboot commands do not work to it. I've tried to force the driver to the HTC driver but that does not work.
I also tried using the RUU_IMAGINE_UHL_O80_SENSE10GP_NA_Gen_Unlock_1.30.617.2.exe file, but once again it doesn't detect my phone.
Any help would be kindly appreciated.
Cheers!
EDIT: So I was finally able to get into download mode by waiting until the phone done its 6 minute reboot and then holding power down until it vibrated once, then held volume up until it vibrated again, then let go of the power button, I was then able to choose recovery, download etc.
So I managed to get the file 2Q55IMG.zip to install, it said it installed 100% okay. The phone rebooted and now I'm stuck again just at the white HTC logo and Power by Android down the bottom of the screen.
This time the phone is not automatically rebooting itself and no key combinations will make it reboot. I've tried holding them all in certain combinations for periods of time, the phone will not reboot or turn off.
EDIT 2: So maybe I didn't wait long enough after installing the 2Q55IMG.zip file, I finally got the phone to reboot and now I've got a working phone again. happy days

Not sure if I'm game enough again now to try and put LeeDrOiD and Magisk on it.

Unable to boot, enter flash mode or enable USB debugging after 'succesful' flash

I use this forums a lot for info but in this case i can't find any leads of whee to go with this, so wondering if someone can chip in some ideas?
I flashed a ROM via flashtool but wasn't happy with it, so i thought i'd just go back to stock and so used flash tool AKA emma to flash one of the options given there.
First attempt to flash it said "flash failed" or something like that and had the "flashing failed, connect to computer" note in the phone when booting it. (I'm sort of making up the terms, not that much into the tech ). Anyway, i tried flashing the same FW again and this time it went through really quick being 'completed' in a few seconds.
Now when i try to boot it gets stuck in the 'Sony' logo. Can go into Fastboot but no Flash Mode (nothing happens using the vol down key), and USB debugging seems to be off now as well.
Emma only works in Flashmode so can't do anything with that. Flashtool doesn't offer anything useful in Fastboot and Xperia Companion recognises the phone when in Fastboot but asks that i unlock the screen and enter MTP...
Any help of where i can go with this?
Thanks
P.s. While keeping buttons pressed randomly it went once into flash mode, but trying to flash a ROM with flashtool it got stuck at "reding device data" and i haven't been able to enter the mode again. Is there an alternative key press combination that i stumbled on by chance? I think i just kept vol up and power held for a while and let go at a random number of phone vibrations
Just tried: Flashed twrp via fastboot and then rebooted into recovery. Same thing. It still opens to Sony splash screen and stays there
Ok, i'm kind of talking to myself here, but mild success and something that might help someone.
Managed to get back in flash mode. Don't know if it's a fluke, unique to this phone, or how it's actually meant to work, but the sequence is:
From the freezed up splash screen, and the USB connected, press and keep pressed power+vol up (hard restart/shutdown)
You get a single vibration, if you let go here it restarts. Keep pressing
You get a triple vibration, if you let go here it shuts down. Keep pressing
You get a single vibration, if you let go here it starts in fastboot. Keep pressing
You get a second single vibration, if you let go here it starts in flash mode.
Possibly a fluke but don't want to have to try again!
Anyway, i managed to flash the last working firmware and it's all good, yet this is the unwanted one. So issue is i still need to downgrade the phone to 7.1.1

I Flashed My Note 20 Ultra With Recovery.img And Now Its Stuck On Orange State "Bootloader Unlocked" Warning Message!

Ok Guys So I Shouldn't Have Done This But I Used Fastboot To Flash Recovery And I think I Did It Wrong. It Said "ok" And Finished And I Rebooted Phone It Resetted And Then Stuck On The Orange State Bootloader Message. I Do The Recovery Mode And Goes Black And Nothing Is Responsive For a While, Sometimes Longer Than Others. This Happens If I Start Phone Normal Or Try Fastboot Or Download.
Because Of My Mistake I Cannot Connect To Pc Software And Im Not Sure Of What I Can Do. I Feel Like Im Not Going To Like The Answer For This But I Got To Take The Blame For This.
Btw i Have A Samsung galaxy Note 20 Ultra Sm-N986u
I think your phone is hard bricked
so you can't get fastboot using volume up+power or via adb?
rescue from manufacturer site pos or just device not being recognised?
It isn't hard bricked it's just way of Samsung trying to make life of simple people more difficult, people who paid for Samsung phones lots of money.
To sort that screen issues what you can surely do is,
Simply press volup + voldown buttons at the same time, no matter if you're on that orange screen or whatever just press those those two buttons at the same time and keep pressing them while you connect your phone to pc. you will boot into download mode. Then flash stock firmware for your phone. After stock of flashed Reboot and start your phone, go to developer options see if oem unlock option is there if it is then oem unlock it if it is not then go back to settings manually change date to year ago, then go to updates disable auto update, connect to WiFi, and press on update several times untill window shows up saying no updates, then go to developer options you should see oem unlock, unlock it.
Then boot into download mode and make sure you have working copy of recovery.
And make sure you follow instructions of whoever recovery you installed on how to boot into recovery. I have S20 plus and too had troubles with it, and the only working recovery for my phone is twrp customised. To boot into it after flashing recovery from odin auto reboot disabled I pressed voldown and power, USB cable connected, then after screen goes off I changed from voldown to volup while kept pressing power button and cable connected. Orange screen with warning showed up for 5 sec I kept pressing and it bottled to twrp and then I was able to install custom rom beyond rom and while installing in aroma I was able ti choose option to remove orange screen.
That's it.
I ran into the same error. I mistakenly loaded twrp's recovery into userdata instead of ap section. The phone was stuck at the orange screen and nothing was happening whatever i pressed. I waited till the battery to dry out and with 0% battery, i directly connected to pc and was able to get into download mode. Then i flashed stock and everything is now back to normal.
