OTG adapter and SD card help - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running an old 4.4.2 firmware and i was trying to access my SD card from my digital camera to review pictures, but i keep getting an error message along the lines of “high powered device, cant connect”.
So is there a way to use the OTG adapter to read an SD card? Do i need a custom rom? Is it not possible?
Thanks for your help.

The simplest suggestion would be to remove the SD card from the phone and use a card reader to place a new ROM on it.
If this doesn't work for some reason, you can connect to your computer via Wifi and use ADB to push a new ROM onto the SD card. However, if your phone won't mount the SD card when you plug in the USB cable there is probably something wrong with the way it is communicating with the SD card.
An external card reader is your best bet.
Just to double check - can you access your SD card when you boot the phone in recovery mode?

ICS does not support USB mass storage. I know with the official version you use MTP (media transfer protocol) but I'm not sure if it works with custom builds.
One way around this is if you have an micro SD card adapter and SD card slot on your computer.
Okay thx. i have a external sd card and can put it into my computer. But i thought i've done something wrong.

Can't access to my files from tablet to computer only old photo not showing all

Hello guys. I believe before I would able to go Computer, GT-N8013 then select both hard drive and able to access all my pic and video now it doesn't show new pic and some of older pic i had this problem for a while. I'm not sure if it's because I upgraded the version but I did remember
I did a factory reset. Also seem to be a bit slow to load up preview in gallary. Os I use is Windows 7 and Window 8. I want to view all the files. Any idea? Yes the new photos is in my gallery.
Have you installed Samsung USB drivers or Kies ???

I had a problem recently where I could see photos in the gallery on my Note but the PC could not read the SD card either by USB connection or by plugging the SD card directly into the PC card reader. I only realised there was a problem when I could not delete a photo from the tablet!
The solution for me was to reformat the SD card on the PC (the format card option on the tablet had no effect) and then (sigh) copy all 16gb off photos back to the card.
If your problem is with the internal storage then this doesn't really help but ultimately it may be worth considering reformatting the internal SD storage.

Well I am able to delete photo on the tablet. Problem is I am able to access the internal and external memory except the new photo it wont show up if i connect to computer but does show up the old picture. Another thing is on my S2 once i changed back to stock rom i have same problem. What I can do is zip all the pic of internal then upload to a host website. I didn't had this problem with my Samsung Galaxy note tablet on 16gb now I have the 32 gb tablet since i got rid of 16gb version in Mexico. Kies is a no go. I'll try samsung driver but thing is my computer do detect the device and able to access the old files and files i put in.

[Q] SD Card Error

Hi, I'm trying to copy over some ROMs to my SD Card from my PC via a SD Card Adapter and the following message comes up. I have moved all files from this 8 GB SD Card to the PC, and formatted but when I try to paste the files back or anything back on it keeps saying the same message...Please help, it's really annoying...
The message that comes up on the computer: 'An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the folder. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem.'
'Error 0x8007045D: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.'
Check the adapters write switch on the side

Stop posting unusual problems on XDA! Your adapter is not connected properly. Try to reformat sd card & plug adapter at differnt port.
want to taste Jellybean 10.1 for LG-P500, have a Look at my Signature

Just got the same problem myself today and I can tell you that you're wrong. In my case the adapter is connected properly, a different micro-sd ( wth a lower clas- 2 instead of the 10 class 16gb that I now have) works without any problems and offcourse the write protection is off. So the card reader port is doing it's job and plus, the strange thing is, that both of the cards work great in the android smartphone.

Android's external SD not showing up in Windows

Hello,
I recently came across an issue, I couldn't solve by myself. Maybe someone out here knows a solution.
I have a Samsung S7 (European version, Stock ROM 8.0.0, rooted with TWRP and SU). The phone works fine with its external SD card, that I partionated to two partions (first: fat32/primary, second ext4/primary) for using Apps2SD options to link apps to the second partition.
Now, when I connect my phone to my computer (Windows 7) via USB, the internal storag shows up in Windows, the external SD won't (see pic #1).
If I put this very card into my old S4 (European version, Stock ROM 5.x, rooted), it shows up in Windows just fine (see pic#2).
Does anyone know how to make the S7 to show up the external SD card when connected to Windows?
Cheers,
doclouis

Thanks for your answer. Yet I am wondering, how an adapter should fit into the device's SD slot
