My software version is 10.3.3 and i'm having a weird lag issue with dualshock 4 controller connected over bluetooth. It connects fine and the first 10 seconds is always smooth. After that it starts to skip input and lag once every 10-15 seconds. Ive tried many things, the bluetooth auto connect software, different controller etc. Nothing seems to solve my problem. Im out of ideas ro be honest. Any suggestions? Is there anyone who has the same problem? Thanks on advance.
I have the same problem
Strangely enough, I found when you connect it directly thru USB OTG and then disconnect it, it works perfectly over Bluetooth! ?
Granted, I did try this on the OnePlus 7 port.

I'm trying to get my Xbox 360 wireless controller and wireless receiver (Chinese knockoff that works perfect on PC) I had laying around to work with my OPO. Sadly this has been harder then I expected. I have ran into the following problem. After I reboot my phone and the receiver is connected through a OTG USB cable, my controller is connected to my OPO and I can move in menus and play a SNES game for example. The problem however is that this connection remains for a very short amount of time, it seems that the phone stops seeing the USB device that is connected. When trying other USB devices this problem does not occur, I tried a USB stick and a USB mouse. Once the connection is lost the only way to regain connection is to reboot the phone.
I have no idea why this is happening
I've tried many settings and tested a lot of stuff:
I followed the steps in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792531
I also messed around with other product ID settings related to xbox 360 controllers: http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids
On my Windows 7 PC I used USBview.exe to see with which ID the receiver/controller combination was identified which was: 045e 0291 (Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows)
I used the app USB Device Info to see if my OPO was detecting anything via the OTG cable. As mentioned above after a few seconds ~ < 1min it just disappears.
I've searched in general with Google and specifically on XDA and the OPO forums but I've not found a similar problem with regards to the disconnection problem.
Anyway, if someone here has experience with wireless xbox 360 controller on the OPO or USB devices that disappear. Help would be appreciated!
I think I might have found why this will not work correctly, the default kernel of the OPO doesn't have xpad.ko.

The problem is that there are no drivers for the Xbox 360 control pad.
You need xpad.ko for the controller to work and ff-memless.ko for the vibrators.
Unfortunately these have to be built for the kernel you are running and as far as I know nobody has built any for the nexus 5 yet

This OPO kernel has xpad.ko included, I might check it out and see what happens.

Tried the kernel, switched on the xpad module, rebooted.... Still the same problem
I've connected my DS4 to my Z5 using bluetooth and there is noticable input lag. Is there anyway to fix this?
Would a cabled connection help (or even work)?
Couple of things to make sure:
- PS4 is hard wired to router
- Direct Connect is off
On Z5 experiment with:
- 5ghz vs 2.4ghz
- turn off location services when playing.
Not playing PS4 games, just games on the device itself.
More specifics about the problem? Is the lag immediately noticeable after pairing the phone with the controller, or like ~30 seconds after?
A USB cable would eliminate the lag, but you'd have to try it out yourself to see if it works (you'll need a Micro USB Male to Micro USB Male cable).
You may want to try the "Bluetooth Auto Connect" app on the Play Store and trying out some settings. It's reportedly helped other phones just by using it to connect (you may need to try connecting to it a few times). I can't say how it will work with the Xperia though.
Downloaded the app you recommended, what settings might suggest to reduce lag? Can I play wired using a Micro USB male-to-male cable?
Have you found any solution? I have a xz1 compact on Android 9 and I have the same problem - dualshock4 v2 connects with no issue but works with terrible lag, missclicks... The same controller Works like charm on my other old devices by both bluetooth and cable. Cable solution doesnt work with my xz1c... How can it be even possible? Some incredible negligence from Sony's side... Such a shame...

It's definitely the downside of xz1c , no otg for connecting ds4 and no way to fix input lag from bluetooth ..
Hello everyone!
I recently experienced problems with my Mad Catz’ C.T.R.L.R Mobile Gamepad on my Mate 7. The gamepad is connected via bluetooth to the phone and can be switched between several operation modes (mouse, gamesmart and Xinput modes). Untill LP 5.1 the controller was working just fine with my Mate 7 but after upgrading to MM it just stopped working. I Can connect to it via bluetooth and the connection seems to be established butit just seems there is nothing "arriving" on the phone, just nothing happens. I checked the gamepad on other phones with MM and on PC, it was working - so it is probably something with the Mate 7 MM software.
Does anyone have an idea about it? Am I missing some security option which blocks the input? Btw i already noticed this loss of function during MM beta.
Did you manage to solve this? Im seeing same issue with honor 6 on android 6.0
Unfortunately I did not manage to solve it. Huawei just messed up input drivers with MM i guess. Only workaround i see so far is downgrade to LP or switch phones (as I will do).
Hi,
Back when I first got my phone, it was running Lollipop. One of the first things I tested was controller support with my PS4 controller. It connected fine. There was a slight bit of lag, but the app Bluetooth Auto Connect fixed that. However, after about 30 seconds of connection, the phone will disconnect the controller.
After updating to Marshmallow a while back, I decided to test out controller support again. And alas, I'm having the same issue. I can connect my phone to my Bluetooth speaker just fine, but controllers don't seem to be working. The last thing I want is to use an OTG cable.
I have OP7 PRO running android 10 and stock Oxygen OS (not root).
When I pair my device to my car bluetooth set everything works fine, but once the connection is lost it will not auto-reconnect the next time i'm in my car.
Moreover, in order to connect again i need to do the pairing again (not just select the device from the existing devices list).
I saw tons of threads online about this with no solution, some mentioned they think it's an issue with android OS and not the phone itself (this is supported by the fact that my wife just got a new Xiaomi and have the exact same problem).
Does it make sense that this is a global Android issue and has no fix for such a long time? did anyone experience it and managed to fix it?
I would guess at an issue with the car Bluetooth. May be theres a firmware update for that ?

That was my first thought, but it seems that the issue is on the device side as i can see that after connecting the device doesn't appear in the previously connected devices list.
As if the phone forgets it for some reason.
I've had occasional problems too. I'm using Launcher 10. Just last week, I turned on my wifi before starting my car as usual. It connected, then disconnected 2 times and then was stable. There's been times where I'll restart my car to fix it. It's irritating but who knows what can be done about it.
I have a rooted stock op7pro and I have a Samsung active2 watch that randomly disconnects and reconnects once or twice an hour. I have battery set to all Samsung apps on my phone to not optimize battery usage and I have no idea why it does this.

I have understood that it's also possible that it depend on the order in wich you connect.
You should first have to connect the car to the phone instead of the phone to the car.
Iow have the car lookup the phone
Yes, i head a lot about people with flaky connection but i hope that was the situation, for me it won't reconnet 100% of the times.
Changing the order of connections didn't work.
