Dear Great Developers,
I am unable to root the new android phone from Redmi 8A Dual using Magisk 20.4 (20400) and Magisk Manager 7.5.1 (267).
I have tried Patching Boot.img (From official Mi Rom) with latest Magisk Version in normal mode and recovery mode too. But there is no success. The weird part is the TWRP 3.3.1 is also not giving any kind of error. Process Completes Successfully without any error but after rebooting in normal mode, Magisk Manager is showing no Magisk is installed. Bootloader is unlocked. MIUI 11.0.6.0 Stable (PCQINXM)
direct magisk zip flashing or flashing magisk boot image doesn't work on miui. You've got to patch your boot image differently in order to successfully install magisk on your device.
Patch your bootimage via https://patcher.yaalex.tk/. flash it using fastboot or custom recovery, then flash magisk zip.
Note: patch and flash only the boot image of your specific rom, if your rom is 11.xx.6 then flash boot of that version only, don't flash boot image of any other version of rom.

I dont know why, but with rmn7p (violet) I can directly flash magisk then the device is rooted, but rm8a is failed, I tried your way but failed again at the patch site, it said something is wrong with boot.img
finally I find out a youtube clip that has links of patched boot.mg of some MIUI versions of rm8a, I tried the 10.3.3.0 one and got successful

Hello excalibur
I already tried patched boot image.
Boot.img is from official Stock Rom which my mobile is currently using (So there is no issue with boot.img)
Next I patched boot.img with the link you provided as well as Patching via Magisk Manager.
Flashed both patched Boot.img files using TWRP recovery and orangefox recovery.
Both didn't showed any errors, infact the flashing result showed was successfull.
But when I switch on in normal mode magisk manager showing magisk not installed.
(
Mobile phone Model = Redmi 8a Dual
Bootloader status = unlocked
MIUI 11.0.6.0 (PCQINXM)
Codename of Stock ROM = Olivewood
MIUI ROM (treble)

Yours is the ONLY relevant post I found on redmi 8a dual rooting. Could you please send me the link to the custom recovery you used ? I flashed unofficial twrp and OrangeFox for OLIVELITE (8A); thought both 8A and Dual must be same. Now my phone is stuck at fastboot screen. Fastboot flashed recovery successfully but couldn't boot recovery later.
Waiting to hear from you. You're probably my only help at the moment.
Also, if you have it, could you also give me the stock recovery image for this phone ?

Thanks ! I flashed vbmeta. The phone boots in recovery mode but touchscreen doesn't work. I think this is because i flashed recovery of Redmi 8A. But my phone is Redmi 8A DUAL. Could you please send me the link to the recovery for 8A DUAL ? I've tried a lot, but couldn't find.

Is the touch not working for orangefox as well, i faced that problem with unofficial twrp of redmi 8a in 8a dual, but orangefox was working, currently no recovery specifically for 8a dual.

Yes, tried twice. Touchscreen not working in Oraangefox either.
Is there somewhere I can find the stock recovery of this phone ? My phone is not even booting normally, it boots straight to recovery. My phone has been rendered completely useless at the moment. Could you help ?
I should mention that I used OrangeFox beta version. That was the only orangefox I found.

This problem of touch not working in recovery, an other user is also having this same issue on 8a dual. he flashed another version of fastboot rom but the problem still persists. I've provided the link to download stock recovery for 8a dual.

You, are a life saver ! I never thought I would ever be so happy to see a stock recovery.
Flashed it, wiped all data, and phone has now booted successfully. I would never have found this stock recovery if it weren't for you, since there aren't even ROM download links for this phone.
There are virtually no rooting resources for this phone. Sticking to everything stock for now.
Thanks again !
You wouldn't have boot.img for this phone would you ? Reckon I can still root this thing by patching boot with magisk.

There are rom links for this device, you probably haven't searched enough. Its not yet listed in miui rom website, but the rom links are official. I've got bootimage for 11.7, 11.4 and 11.5 , which one do you need.

Yes, sorry it seems I did not search for rom hard enough. Perhaps because my focus was on trying to get recovery working.
My rom is global 11.0.6. There are no updates.
I guess the reason there are no OTA updates because I have unlocked my bootloader and did change the recovery. Never mind, I'll download the updated fastboot rom and extract boot image from there. Thanks for everything, mate!

Download the Sony's flash tool then
Try going to fastboot then flash a recovery (try both flash tool and command prompt).
If it works format the system partition using the recovery and reinstall the new ROM
If it didn't work go to flash mode then flash the stock ROM using flash tool (you need to download the rom file your self) after flashing you will boot into stock ROM
If you already know what I mean good luck if don't try googling or reply:angel:

https://www.xiaomiauthority.com/2019/06/download-beast-rom-for-redmi-note-7-pro.html
https://sourceforge.net/projects/beastroms/files/violet/
Flashed ROM and worked good. But tried botting into TWRP it doesnt shows twrp instead stucks on REDMI logo.

HELP HELP. What to do?
How to flash stock rom using MIFlash tool?
Which roms will I need to flash--- Recovery or Fastboot??
If you want to go back MIUI means use miflash tool
Or
If you want Custom rom means boot into fastboot mode and flash twrp boot into twrp do a clean format. And flash what rom you want(Miui also)

you can't flash the Recovery ROM because you can't boot to TWRP, therefore download the Fastboot rom and flash using Mi Flash tool, on installing the TWRP simply try flashing the vbmeta too, this shall make the TWRP persist and not roll back by the ANTI-Rollback security used by Xiaomi.
also don't forget to flash the FCrypt Disabler zip after flashing the ROM.
hit thanks if it works !
Hi,
I have a Redmi note 7 pro, I followed a YouTube video instructions, I unlocked my bootloader and then flashed TWRP without rooting my device and then installed pixel experience ROM of September security patch on my device.
But now when I'm trying to boot to TWRP to flash android 10 Pixel Experience ROM, TWRP is gone!
It's not booting into TWRP at all , it just gets stuck in the Redmi Logo screen.
What should I do for this? What's the solution? Please help me out someone.

Same problem here and when I tried to reinstall the twrp recovery ,my whole ROM was destroyed and couldn't even flash ROM again, so I had to use MIFLASH to flash in fast boot mode.
I installed the pixel experience ROM again, and again I can't open the twrp recovery, but this time I didn't try to reinstall the recovery to prevent my device form brick.
I really want to install the ANX camera mod but can't do it , because I coudn't install twrp.Installing twrp is bricking my device.......what to do
Please someone help me!!!!

Hello guys
My realme U1 is stuck in bootloader after installing DOTOS via Twrp. can anyone guide me? and also can I install custom ROM at all? I tried multiple times but same thing happens...
Thanks in advance.... Please help
Mod Edit: Merged
I installed TWRP recovery via fastboot. Cleaned everything, tried to install DOTOS and it went successfully but my phone doesn't boot normally. It goes into bootloader and if I try to shutdown through TWRP it goes into bootloop. I thought maybe I bricked my phone. So I installed another ROM(linieage OS) and it also installed successfully but again booted into bootloader and after shutting down in TWRP via fastboot, it again went in bootloop. Tried different ROMs nothing seems to work...
Can you enter twrp?

Hi there
My phone is Realme 5 pro (4 GB RAM)
I've tried to flash Pixel Experience Plus ROM (Android 12), so I got into their website, and followed the instructions (including that: they put a link to a custom recovery, I guess it's TWRP, but when I hit the link, it said: Error, Not found! Or something like that.. Then I installed the TWRP from an external website and flashed it, then flashed the ROM without problems facing me)
But after the process and hitting "Reboot system" , the phone is stuck on fastboot mode and doesn't proceed to the system normally!!
I tried the process with: TWRP, and OrangeFox 12.1, and PE recovery that's attached to the A12 ROM at their website! And the same happened every time!
In addition, when I tried to flash the PE custom recovery itself, the phone also is stuck on fastboot mode, even if I tried to get into recovery mode!! It doesn't get into the recovery mode, but reboot again to fastboot mode!! As if I didn't flash the PE custom recovery!!
Any explanation and help please?!
