Hi all,
Finely I see ANDROID can save .RAW pics from camera- but which software to use to open it?
every camera has it's RAW utility- but I don't know if MEDIATEK has one.
using Engeneer Menu->Camera-> selecting PURE RAW and test- its saves .RAW + JPEG pics (15MB .RAW-2MB JPEG)
Photoshop opens them as BW side by side mirror, PAINT.NET with RGB565.DLL opens it as but all the pic in blue color(like BW filter- but blue)
who can help?
+ in this menu we can MANUALLY control the focus - so there is a way to control the focus- so why no manual focus camera app out there?
come on! first time .Raw on android and nothing to say?
What's the point? Yeah you get all the information the sensor captured, but when the sensor is fed by a crappy little phone lens you still have a low quality picture. I'd leave RAW to the real cameras.

It is as the filename suggests.
a 2572 by 1932 10 bit per pixel not normalized vertically flipped bayer pattern that starts with BG pixels image
irfanview can open it with these settings.
Only thing that needs to be done is tweak the colors
And yes there is a very good reson to do it. even though the optical hardware is not perfect, the software makes garbage from that half decent picture that is captured with the optical hardware.

you can try many programs. adobe lightroom, rawtherapee, digikam etc.
the only thing: you have to resave the raw files! nothing cam handle that 10bit format, except irfanview...
I open raw with infraview. In this software have you got a preset or way to correct colors? What option do you use?

ifranview is not able to correcting the colors, you should do this with digkam, lighroom, etc.
or make photos with processed raw option, these could be edited with irfanview too!

I shooted in "pure raw" and then I opened with infraview using setting of this thread (look the image attached please)
However colors are not good. Is it possible correcting directly colors in raw file format? Which software can I use?
I tried also to shoot in "processed raw" but I can't open the file with same infraview settings. Could you tell me right workflow?
Thanks a lot.

pure raw is not processed with any color, brightness, etc algorythms, its come as is from the sensor. the same settings should be also good for pure and processed raw, if both is "capture size".
you can just open/edit/save these raw files with irfanview. after you opened it should resave as tiff/bmp/jpeg2000/jpeg(100% quality) and that resaved file could be editable with other softwares.
I opened it with infraview, and converted in jpeg or other formats, but colors are different from reality (green, or pink). I shared a photo .jpg in my last post converted from a .raw file. Did you see?
How do your tweak colors?
Thanks.

As seen in review Redmi note 7 pro comes with camera2api enabled out of the box.
So technically we can get full manual support like
Shutter speed of 30 sec, iso, manual white balance, manual focus and most importantly RAW and DNG support. It does have the the camera hardware and processor to handle this things.
Can you all test apps like Camera -fv,Open camera or Bacon camera to see the device performance:
1:Low light
2:Light trail
3very important and the main reason of this post)
Astrophotography or Milkyway shots
Main task take photo at night pointing at the sky with stars around and take a shoot with this setting
Iso( lowest setting possible)+30 sec or more shutter speed+focus infinity( save the image in JPG and DNG)
AND PLS UPLOAD THE RESULT

Welcome bro, and I added 18 more photos to the album. Dude the camera blows!!! This the most expensive phone I have purchased in my life and I could not be more happy.
In one particular photo on 48 mp, supersampling went wrong and the photo has color bands or spots.

Can u use a tripod or use headphone so that the camera doesn't move
Then go to pro mode and select this setting for stars picture
Point the camera to the sky make sure stars are visible to u
Focus (infinity)+ISO(100-400)+Shutter speed(30 sec)+ white balance auto
THEN TAKE THE PHOTO
NEXT SETTING
Focus (infinity)+ISO(1600-3200)+Shutter speed(30sec)+white balance auto
Now try camerafv 5 or bacon camera it doesn't matter if those app doesn't support the 48 no resulution and take photo with above mentioned setting just take photo in DNG(RAW) formats.
(you can google that and get some idea how will it look or what to expect)

I don't have a tripod but I'll try out what you said. And this camera really captures even the smallest of the details. If you download and zoom in some of these building photos you can even see sunlight reflecting into spaces in the societies parking area. Even the farthest objects can be looked at closed with good details. Very surprised.

It wasn't very dark location and Milky way wasn't up , but you can se the big dipper.
ISO 1600 , Shutter 16s . I tried shutter speed of 32s but stars were trailing at that so used 16s.
I used stock camera on purpose because I wanted to see without any special efforts how is the quality.
And I can say I am impressed.
Straight out of camera image. No modifications whatsoever.
will try milky way in upcoming months.

The stock camera reduces sharpness on human subjects and boosts color to look pleasing to the eye even with beautify, AI mode turned off. So it's better to try some other camera for true experience.
If you want a proper stock, download Gcam and capture picture in RAW format.
A word of caution, the RAW images will look dull because no processing has been done on the images and they will be very large in size. Use Lightroom (Pc and Android Both) to fit it according to your need.
Added one more picture

The photos are awesome!
Can you share the exact camera settings used & whether you used the usual point and shoot mode or used pro mode?
If so the iso and shutter etc settings to get such perfect shots?
Also, were these captured on 48mp mode or default mode.?
Some issues:
My phone is just a week old while I have no issues with anything, whats bothering me is rear/main camera capturing daylight images with a yellow tint.
If I shoot anything indoors using an artificial light like cfl or led bulbs the shots come perfect and real in colors or textures and lighting.
Also, again the Red color seems isnt captured to the perfection. It is either captured as pink or orange.
I hope these are software issues or if the camera lens parses the light more in yellow.
Any expert to comment on this.

Well, this camera is working on our phones with Night Sight.
Install the camera, go to settings ---> Mod Settings ---> Fix ----> Raw Sensor - change it to RAW_SENSOR.
After that, go back to settings ---> Photo ---> Advanced ---> Night Sight and enable Alternative Config 8.1, go back to viewfinder and done. ALREADY SET!
Now comes the hardest part, we need help with the settings, because the photos are overexpoded, high ISO and things like that. To be honest, I don't know how works most of the settings, so please, if you find the right settings, share it with us HERE everyone could enjoy the benefits of this app, we're a community, so we help each other, don't forget that. The config is more stable now.

UPDATE 3:
I uploaded 2 files, one for normal shoot and the other for black and white photos.
I have to say that I just edited the files to make it work on our devices, Monochrome xml was taken from a telegram group (OP6/OP6T), thanks to Jean-Luc for this mod.
Download the XML file that I attached and save it into Gcam/Configs (folder inside internal memory).
Now, check the photo that I posted and open Gcam and double tap to restore the config.
Note: You'll need to tap to focus before take the photo, to avoid overexposed photos o errors.
I took both files (camera and configs) from a telegram group, so, Thanks to the guys who modded the app and edited the config, thank you very much! What a great job was done

click on link , go to XML page
click on "minus" before map to minimize file , it will be like "+<map></map>" , then right click on "+" and select save as .... (name)
next steps are explained in other posts here .... "Gcam" folder in internal memory , inside it create a new named "Configs" and this folder put XML file
open Gcam apk ,click twice anywhere in a place between shooter and left icon for change camera back-front , it will appear a window with restore settings "nico...." you just save it in "Configs" . That's it !

Hi All
I'm away the mo, but here are some samples I've taken so far. I've posted these up as it's hard to find original res pics. There are tons of reviews with reduced size images which is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
I'm looking for a good scene so I can take the same shot with every lens so we can do more detailed comparisons, but this is a starter:
edit: imgur worked fine at first, but now it's reduced the resolution of the files! I've uploaded them to mega.nz here:
https://mega.nz/#F!EZMxxQbJ!lAIm7Z4JIda3wN62LmSW7w
The above link contains all the images, so don't bother with the imgur links below.
At mega.nz, right-click on an image you want and choose download to get the file in full resolution. Don't bother with Preview as this is low res.
I'm not too impressed with the ultrawide image as if you zoom in to a face, the image is very soft as far as looking out of focus. For Macro shots, I found it best to go into camera settings and turn on Focus & Shoot. If you don't it's hard to get the macro camera to focus just where you want it.
The 108MP image looks quite good and you can zoom in a long way.
As soon as I see a good shot, I'll take that photo with all lenses and do some night shots.
Cheers
Steve

Next up is a comparison between Open Camera and the stock cam, including RAW files where possible. There's a readme file uploaded.

Good shots Steve
Cheers I ran outside in between rain storms
I've been doing some comparisons between crops of @TF1920's current version of opencam mods and the stock cam. The reference is the brickwork on the end of a house in the middle of the picture. The comparisons have been uploaded to mega.nz with the link below. All of the comparison images file names begin with the word Comparison and each pair of images are annotated with Opencam or note10 and the lens used.
There is also a comparison of stock camera 27mp images in jpeg and DNG format.
https://mega.nz/#F!hZUkFKgJ!8P0msMZIag0drQstokvVTA
So, here's the results:
Compare_OC_Note10_2xTele_12mp
Note 10 crop has much more detail than opencam. I tried sharpening the opencam image, but it didn't help. In my view the note10 image is over-sharpened.
Compare_OC_Note10_5xTele_8mp
The Note10 image has more detail than the opencam image. Not a great deal, but sharper.
Compare_OC_Note10_U_Wide
These images seem to me, to be identical.
Compare_OC_Note10_WIDE_108mp
There's quite a difference between these 2 images. Note10 seems to have a lot more detail. I tried sharpening the opencam image but it didn't help. Hmm....
Compare_Note10_Wide_jpeg_dng_27mp
I found this interesting. The RAW image was much softer than the jpeg so no surprises there. However, the grass and stones looked like grass and stones in the RAW image. In the jpeg, they had suffered from over sharpening and had clear 'oil painting' effect. This gives me hope that I can use a RAW file and produce an image that is a better compromise than the over sharpened jpegs spat out by most manufacturers.
Raw Files
It's worth noting that although the RAW files uploaded to mega.nz look very washed out with a green tint, if you view them in irfanview they look much better.
Cheers
Steve
Good Job Steve, at 108Mpx try OpenCam with manual focus and compare with stock, seems to improve a lot the detail even gets better than stock, but it is tricky to use since you need to zoom in first at 10X focus and revert to no zoom
One mode I'm really interested in is 12MP on the 108MP camera, if possible this would be 9-to-1 pixel binning (the same mode that Samsung is planning in the S11) and maybe provide great low-light performance. Another poster tells me that 12MP is not available on the main cam in the Xiaomi app, but is available on Open Camera.
Could someone test this? The results might be impressive

Yes I have the modded opencam @TF1920 has developed. If you check out this page:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-note-10/help/camera2-api-t4011239/page4
He's posted up a screenshot of all of the available resolutions in open camera and a couple are very close to 12MP. Over the next couple of days, I'll take a shot of each resolution and maybe you could feed back your results?
Happy Xmas all.....
Steve
Correction, the screen shot I mentioned is not the full range of resolutions in @TF1920's opencam. It's quite a long list so I tried to do a screen capture with scroll but it finishes before the end of the page. I've taken a number of screenshots of the opencam Wide resolutions and glued them all together for your viewing pleasure. It's attached to this post.
Also up are 4 shots taken outside my front door this morning at around 7am. In the UK, it's pretty dark and it's worth noting that to my eye, the sky was black and I could just make out the tree opposite so the results are very sensitive. jpeg quality was set to 100%.
The files are here:
https://mega.nz/#F!0Bsi2CKI!54RSNIlwDDEtoag7JQpYcw
I must say I can't see any difference in sensitivity between the 108MP and 12ish MP photos. Maybe they are just crops?
I also checked the ISO range in opencam by setting to different resolutions and manually setting the ISO. The result was the same for all resolutions I tried, offering a maximum ISO of 3200.
Cheers
Steve did you try manual focus instead of auto?
Hi no I didn't but I'll try again tomorrow at 7am and post the results up

To any of them, I noticed that autofocus is not working very well some times, with manual focus I always get much better results (first zoom in max > set focus > zoom out all) then shot.
Credits goes to the guys of this topic:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...ide-enable-960fps-slow-motion-7t-pro-t4101389
The mod adds to the stock camera the option to record 10 seconds of the video in 720p 960 fps.
Just wanted to let you know that in the normal one plus 7 this mod works as well. I am using the latest stable Android 10 firmware with arter97 kernel. I did not tested the macro mode.
The only one difference is that we need to add the values described in the topic above to camera 0 and 3, because the camera 5 does not exist for us. Please check carefully the screenshots.
Don't forget to install the newest apk of the camera from the link below, as well as after applying the mod don't forget to restart your phone.

Have fun!
Not working with my OP7, with camera ver: OnePlus Camera 3.10.17 and OOS 10.3.2.GM57AA.
After editing the .xml files when I open the camera app it shows nothing just a black screen.
How about enabling Macro mode, Did it work for any?

3.10.19 is the newest version. Download this version, edit the XML 0 and 3 by adding the values, and then restart the phone. It has to work because for me is working.
Not working

And pref edit is working.
Would you please share your screenshot or suggest something.

You wrote 920, instead of 960. Change the name in both to the correct number.

Hi! I am the author of the original thread. First. Camera 5 id exist on our phone. Is for multi camera. As camera 0 is for dual. And camera 3 is for wide angle. Totally not used here. The stringset needs to be added on 0 and 5 for stability reasons. I would appreciate the OP to not create duplicated of the threads please. (Thanks for the credits though, but this mod is not only mine, other people deserve credits too) and not spread wrong info please.
Hi @elmarian756
With all respect, the purpose of writing it here was to inform the users of standard one plus 7 about the possibility of using this mod. I decided to write about it here because it was important to mention that the settings in the preferences manager apk has to be different. If you think that this topic doesn't make sense, please edit your topic and include the information that the standard op7 can also use this mod with the proper settings. In that way I don't mind in deleting this topic. The idea was just to share the info, not to change/share/steal the credits from the original author.
I believe that for the op7 pro there is CameraInfo_5.xml file, but for op7 there is not. Please take a look at the screenshot below how does it look in my op7. The CameraInfo_3.xml is the "highest" available number. There is also CameraInfo_2, and 1 and 0, but there is no file which has number 5 in the title. I guess that the difference is caused by the reason that the op7pro has one camera lens more (the wide angle what you wrote about) compared to op7 which does not have that lens.
For the users of standard op7 (me including) editing the camerainfo_3 and 0 brings the possibility of using 960fps slow motion mod. If you wish, I can record and share the video showing the settings as well as the sample of the 960fps slow motion.
By the way, thanks for sharing the info about this mod!
All the best,

I am sorry i dont want to be rude but you are just misinformed. The information you are providing is just incorrect.
You can check this yourself typing *#*#1597#*#* and check the cameras IDs.
IDs are: 0 for dual
5 multilens
4 telephoto related (not sure which mode uses this)
3 wide angle
2 telephoto
1 front camera.
Oneplus can set many IDs as they need according to use.
There is no higher or lower. Dial the code and switch between modes and you will find out yourself.
Changing only 0 id works. But crashes camera sometimes. It needs 5 too. 3, is wide angle. Totally unrelated.
That is why you enable macro support on cameraid 3. Because macro uses that wide angle lens.
Again, i dont mean to be rude. But you are calling my info wrong. Just posting wrong information. It will confuse users. And you are duplicating a thread. It will only create confusion. Please do check your info. Is wrong. I dont want to report the thread as duplicate. But kinda is. Users dont need this clarification or my info doesn't need correction. With all respect. Yours is wrong.
Cheers and all the best! :highfive:
