Possible to get "OK Google" working properly? - Huawei P40 Pro Questions & Answers

I've got my phone working properly with GMS and have the assistant installed even but I cannot get it to respond to voice commands. OK google/Hey Google don't work but if I manuly press the assistant app it brings everything up?
I've been in the assistant settings but somehow Voicematch is turned off and greyed out.
Every other Google service is working perfectly though aside from Google Pay obv
Any thoughs?

This wont ever work. Its a service thats deeper in the system just like google pay. Installing google without root access will not install this background service.

it shows the "teach the assistant to recognize your voice" menu every time

Hi, everyone
I'm using fake nexus 7.1 rom, and enabled google assistant, the problem is , even though I've already saved my voice model, when I say ok google, it shows the "teach the assistant to recognize your voice" menu every time-_-
and when I choose "do it later", google assistant will come out normally.
Does anyone have the same issue?

It's a known issue on nougat ROM. The developers cannot patch it, it's a Google bug, or possibly feature. Lol.
Is anyone looking into this. Its really annoying.
Same here on Marshmallow with Assistant Enabler Xposed Module. This is so annoying that I might actually go back to Google Now.
Download app "ChopAssistant" from google play. It fixes the problem, trust me

It still shows up in the background behind the Google Assistant Dialog box anyway around that?

"ok google" issue.

When i say "ok google" i get a google bar and keyboard opening up instead of the google voice assistant.
If i say "ok google" from here it'll work. It didn't do this before, mind you i only have the phone for 4 days now.
Any help would be appreciated.
Did you configure google assistant or not?!
IF you mean did i train the phone to my voice by saying ok google, then yes.
I think, you should clear data and cache of the google app and try again
Unfortunately didn't work....
Just wait couple of days, I think it needs to be activated from their side (google server)

"OK Google" not working anymore on LineageOS 15.1

Hi there,
for some months now I have a Honor View 10 with LineageOS 15.1 installed.
Recently I also got a Huawei smart watch which I coupled to the View 10.
On both devices, it was working perfectly fine to talk to the Google Assistant by just saying "OK Google" if the screen was turned on.
It automatically unlocked and followed my commands.
Since some weeks, though, the "OK Google" detection stopped working and I cannot find out, why.
When trying to activate Voice Match in the settings page of the Google app, there's a message that the service was not available in my current language...
(But I already tried many different languages - of course including "English (US)". And: it used to work until some weeks ago!)
I already changed many settings, tried several combinations of different settings unpaired my smart watch, deleted the cache and all updates of the Google apps, but I was not able to get OK Google back running...
I am not sure if this is a device-specific issue or a LineageOS-specific issue, but on my device with LineageOS it does not work anymore...
(Btw, when tapping the microphone icon in Google's search bar, the voice recognition is working fine!)
Any ideas?
Anyone having the same problem?
Anyone already fixed that?
Best,
Tom
I have the same problem with my stock phone.Ok google/Hey google not working.

Try this:

Unfortunately, this did not work.
Still all options for voice match are greyed out...

Try to delete google app data after you pushed those files. Here it works as expected.
I don't get that.
The Google app is part of the gapps. It's installed in the /system partition.
After deleting it, how should I re-install it?
From the Play Store (is it available there?)?
Or in the /system partition again (how?)

Not the app eheh, only its data from Settings - Apps and notifications - Show all apps - Google - Storage space - Manage space - Delete all data.
I've done that several times already.
Now again, with the two apps installed in /system.
I deleted all the data of the Google app.
I've even tried to delete all data from Play services which meant re-configuring all the accounts and settings and so on again from scratch, but that didn't help, either.
This is really weird.
Check also if it's not a gapps issue, try this within Lineage: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=674106145207491329
Otherwise i'm out of ideas, you could try my build (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962339331458996492) and see if you can enroll Ok Google again. Then, if it works, you could even try to flash Lineage again and see if it still works (you know, Google server side voodoo lol).
Completely stock here and having the same issue. I am starting to regret getting this phone.
I've tried now to
- re-install Lineageos 15.1
- install another build of Lineageos 15.1
- using different versions of GApps
but nothing brought my voice match back...
Now I'm a little bit frustrated

Google Assistant not working when device is locked or unlocked

When I use "Hey Google" and speak a command the assistant says it needs a little more information before it can help, then navigates me to a screen to enable permissions. I already agreed to those permissions when I set it up and no matter how many times I agree and complete the Assistant setup it still persists.
The weird part is that if I unlock the phone and use the voice prompt the same thing happens BUT if I use the Google task bar on my home screen the commands all worked!
It's very frustrating when I'm driving and trying to use it to make a call because I keep ending up having to unlock it and perform it manually.
the only way around it is connect a bluetooth then add that bluetooth to trusted device bra

Question Unable to got call screening to activate.

Hello everyone, i line in the UK and had call screening working and then one day it decided to deactivate and now it refuses to activate again. I can't figure out how to fix it or get it to activate. I'm in a supported country on a supported device. I am rooted but didn't think that would have anything to do with it but I used magisk to hide your from the phone app as well. Any tips would be grateful.
This happened to me once...
What I did was I force stopped, clear cache, & clear data.
If that didn't help, I uninstall updates. Then I updated from the Play Store. But when I did this, it was on Android 11 and stock phone app didn't initially have call screener. I imagine the Pixel 7's have it on the stock phone app, but doing this still might reset things and re-activate it.
Note: If it wasn't immediately available -- it didn't show the option of "Spam and Call Screen" -- it did take a while for it to somehow activate. Within the hour it all of a sudden popped up an alert when I opened the phone app spouting the feature. It might be that it takes activating through Google or your carrier somehow before it's enabled and displayed on the app. Then, again, this was on my Pixel 5 A11, so Call Screen isn't natively available off the bat -- so I imagine it would show up right away after uninstall updates and/or updating it from the Play Store.
If that isn't enough, you might consider clearing the cache & data from Play Services and Google Play Framework maybe....
Good luck and hope this helps...
