Huawei ID error after factory reset - Huawei P40 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I've beent trying to install the google services/apps etc on my friends p40 pro phone, and after carrying out a factory reset earlier today I can't get past the Huawei ID section. It skips the page where I enter the login details and just instantly opens a screen saying "Unable to connect to server. Touch screen to retry" I've tried factory resetting it and clearing the cache but can't get past this. Does anyone have any ideas please. Thanks in advance.

Same problem
Hi,
The same thing has happened to me, I factory reset the phone using the power button and volume up button, and now when I try to set the phone up, it runs smoothly until I have to enter the Huawei ID but, I cant even see the Huawei ID page, it just states "Unable to connect to server. Touch screen to retry". Before factory resetting it I was unable to log in to my Huawei ID to disable the 'find my phone' hence why I had to use the button method. I've tried erecovery but nothing is working. Any suggests?

Have you found a solution?

I'm having a similar issue with my g flex 2. I did a factory reset and now it does a loop on the setup wizard. I cannot get to the recovery screen by pushing the power button and volume down and I can't get it to connect with my computer with usb. Is there another way to do a hard reset?
If you stuck on Google Account , you can try this:
When you enter your email address, select all and hold your finger to showing option. "Cut, Copy, Past, Assist"
Use Assist, choose >> No thanks . And a browser will be showing.
Enter "Setting" And the settings icon will show up.
Go to Settings then Apps.
Disable every single Google app (Chrome, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, maps, Youtube, Hangouts etc. etc anything that is Google in origin.)
Disable all Google Play everything including Play Services and Store
Disable Google Account Manager and Google App
Disable Google services like calendar and contacts sync, text to speech I think, services framework, one time init, and partner setup
Also went to Security, Administrators, and removed Device Manager
---pretty sure I covered it...
back out of menu, reboot phone.
You should be able uncheck Wi-Fi and Mobile networks and still be able to hit Next at the bottom right, FRP check is disabled. Once it boots all the way into the interface, go to Settings, Backup and Reset and do a factory reset.

That was unsuccessful. Any other suggestions?
I put in my google account info and it worked fine, but it just keeps looping through the setup instead of finishing it. At the end, if I time it right, I can swipe down and get into settings so I thought I could reset it that way, but the reset option isn't even there.
Try to Reflash the phone with LGUP using "Refurbished" mode.

Thanks. I figured out how to flash it using these instructions. http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/general/guide-lg-g-flex-2-stock-firmware-to-t3037593
My phone is working great again. I'm new at this but that seems like doing pretty much the same thing. One question though. Supersu is still showing up in the apps. I rooted my phone a long time ago but I figured that would have been deleted through this process.
Same isseue

erecovery p40 pro fails

Hello!
I wanted to downgrade my EMUI version from 154 to 148, I did all the steps with HSuiteProxy and then sync it to the phone with HSuitePc
No errors during this process,
During the reboot and final installation it did not recognise the partition so it was formatted again
The process finished successfully ( or I thought )
Now the phone is restarting all the time after the "Huawei Logo"
When I go to "update and recovery system" it can connect to the wifi, but sadly it fails "retrieving package information"
What I could do ?
Thanks!
PD: phone is locked
Mine did exactly the same hold power and volume up. When you get the option . Wipe cache and then do factory reset . Works perfectly and now have Google services working

PAX A77 - Trying to factory reset / remove third-party launcher

I recenly acquired a PAX A77 point of sale device. After booting, it goes straight to a third-party launcher which password protects the settings menu. I am unable to access any settings and unable to access safe mode.
If I hold the volume up button while powering on, it displays a firmware update screen - but I have no replacement firmware to load onto it.
If I hold the volume down button while powering on, it displays a sick android man and says "no command."
Does anybody know how I can either remove the launcher or perform a factory reset? I just want it to behave like an ordinary android device.
Settings pass: 9876 and confirm on the app, not keyboard?
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it didn't work.
I'm afraid it needs to go home to mfg to be reset. As far as I can make out the only way to reset it is from that settings menu and if the stock pss doesn't work you'll never get into it because it's a payment device..
How do you know that is the stock password?
If I managed to find a replacement firmware, would the password be erased?
No problem. The stock password turned out to be [email protected]@
I've now done a factory reset and it's all good.
