I recently tried the Pixel Experience Rom and while going through the settings, i noticed a toggle to turn off the fake pill-shaped notch. Is this a Rom-specific setting or does other custom Roms have this?
And to our brilliant developers, is there a possibility to add this toggle to Stock EU rom? Perhaps a flashable zip or a Magisk module? I tried the Theme "android q stock v11" and it hides the fake notch but the theme is ugly.
Thanks for any info!

I've installed nova launcher on my s-offed/rooted verizon htc one m8 to go over the sense launcher.
One thing I've noticed since changing to nova is that there are black translucent bars behind the navigation buttons down the bottom. Seeing as I've enabled the transparent option in the nova settings, I'm not sure what else I can do to hide those bars. It seems to affect every launcher other than sense, and it extends to the lockscreen having translucent bars underneath the navigation.
Does anyone have a quick fix for this? I'd really like to have a clean look and the bars breaks the image too much

Xposed module Xblast will take care of it.

I gave XBlast a shot and it seemed to work up till the point where you click a button and the black transparent bar appears again. The lockscreen bar never disappeared either.
It also managed to change the "back" button into something odd :S
Maybe mess around with the settings some more. It works fine for me.

I disabled all my other modules and it still came up with the odd button and translucent bg. Do you have pictures of the settings page for the it?
I'm also on stock rom so would that have anything to do with it?
I am on GPE ROM. Here are my settings.
Yup, definitely have the same settings and still no luck. I'm guessing it's got something to do with the stock sense rom since that bar appears on every launcher I've tried other than sense.
Hopefully there are other options out there for this
Hey, here's what you do:
-Flash Viper rom
-Go to the Venom Hub market
-I'm not on the rom anymore, but I think its under Addons > Other > Transparent Navbar on 3rd Party Launchers
-Flash the module
-???
-Profit!

So technically there's no way to do this without flashing a modded rom? Feeling a bit uneasy about going away from the stock sense

You can use Cleanrom or Viper and they are both modded sense roms and they work perfectly normal. There is nothing to be uneasy about using either or those roms.
Yea, guess that would be the only way. I'll probably look to flash one of those roms after the I/O updates
SO that's it ? There is no modification can be done from the system file to get a transparent navbar on all launchers ? Cuz on Lollipop there are no Xposed ,, so are we outta luck ?
Look for the thread "old school mods" in the unified m8 XDA section. Has exactly what your looking for
Save the Manuals!
For Nova.......Nova settings -> Home Screens -> last setting, uncheck "show shadow''

Im not sure about this, so dont take my word for it. But something tells me that you can change the navigation bar with the System UI Tuner.
Keep me up to date about this matter!
Have a nice day sir,

Get substratum working first.
You'll need one of the many navigation bar themes to change the icons.
As for that animation, you'll need a lot more work (custom ROM, or flashable ,zip at the least)

Substratum is one thing, but how to change the placement of the buttons so they are just like on a Pixel instead of the ugly narrow Huawei-like ones?

I know the nav bar tuners you can add a blank button that takes up space. Straddle the home button with a pair of those and it would probably look better
I had Pixel navbar icons with proper animation done just through substratum on my stock non-rooted S8, so it should be possible to do here too. No need for custom rom or anything
I don't think you can get the home animation (the one with four dots) without a custom rom, but you can try custom navigation bar on play store, it works with and without root

Thanks for ur answers.
I'm planning to root the device once I can clean flash oos beta which will be the setup I plan to use
So I hate the massive Navbar in Pie, but unfortunately I'm order to use Quickswitch the Navbar must remain. After testing countless options, I only came to one solution I was happy with. You'll need Substratum lite, and Substratum Samsung System Mods from the play store, as well as Natcho Notch. Yes.. Samsung System Mods...it works with LG. After installing these 3 apps, open Substratum and Samsung System Mods and go to the last option.
There are only 3 overlays to choose from, but various Mods under each of the 3. Select the first option "Android System" and scroll down to Navbar Height and choose something reasonable like 28dp. If we make it too small we have issues triggering it and the pill looks ridiculous. Install the overlay and reboot. Open Natch Notch and select "blackout Navbar and round corners on bottom. Set the status bar height to 0 unless you want to hide the Notch but that kind of defeats the purpose here which is having the most screen space possible. Move the sliders until your Navbar is black and your corners match...here is the result:
Screenshot cut out the notch. CHRIST! of course the photo is sideways and I can't rotate it.
Screenshots using the latest version of Librechair as my launcher and recents provider
Fullscreen gesture navbar
See this
How did you do that? Quick switch still works correctly on any page or app?
Navbar
Thanks for this. Was awaiting the gesture control. Since LG is fast on update I'd use this for now
SystemUI tuner won't work to hide the status bar. does anyone know any method to hide the status bar via a magisk module or anything else?
You can auto-hide the navigation icons from within Settings, but I think you would need the Global theme app rather that the limited CN theme app to make most changes to the status bar. If you do experiment with the Global themes app, change your region to India because Xiaomi restricts most Themes functions by region and India enjoys the most extensive theme options.

you can only hide the nav bar in the stock launcher from my experience. I found a magisk module that hides the nav bar though. I want the status bar to be gone in every app, hidden away only available to be pulled down only if you need to see it. i've found many threads all over without a way to do it in the newer android versions thus far

I think I can create magisk module to change status bar size to 0px (= hide completely), but then you can't pull down it since the size is 0 and there's no area to touch.

that sounds awesome to me. if the size is 0 - couldn't we still use a custom gesture to pull it down even if we can't see it at all? that would be amazing as I use custom gestures like this already.

thanks so much, this is awesome. right now it just hides where the status bar was so that it leaves a blank space where the bar was. is there any way for the full screen to fill up this space? either way I am using this and thank you for trying.
also, have you had any luck getting ok google to work with the screen off?
just sent you a donation as well, thanks so much
Edit this is perfect when unfolded it takes up the full screen all the time

Fullscreen/Immersive gestures q-t
This module worked perfectly thank you! Is there a way to set it to like 1 or 2px that will still make the status bar show if I tap that area? I can set custom gestures for the notification shade but the status bar and icons don't show. Thank you

In android desktop mode, there will be two display,
is there a way to only hide the status bar in external display ?
Yesterday I went into Verizon to play with a Pixel 7 pro to make sure I'm on board before mine arrives. I turned off the stupid gesture navigations, switch to the navbar icon, and I saw that in typical pixel fashion, the back button is on the left. I despise this. I am currently on Android 10 using AOSP mods, and one of them is modified navbar icons with the icons flopped. The back button is on the right. Is there such a mod available for the Pixel 7 pro yet? Perhaps a magisk module?
Swap back and recent buttons?
I know there was a way using Custom Navigation Bar from the Play store, but support stopped at A10. Is there any way to swap back and recent buttons for our P7Pro?
