OnePlus 8 Pro Hydrogels Screen Protector - OnePlus 8 Pro Accessories

I have tested tempered glass for my OP8 Pro,but with bubbles and also can not stick on screen stable. And also "UV"tempered glass screen protector,it caused screen dust.......
i have bought Hydrogels Screen Protector for my OP8 Pro.It is great.
It's a super thin film of Hydrogels (which is fine). I was very upset as I thought I had received some sort of "screen protector installation kit". It is IN FACT a whole installation kit AND screen protector. Bonus, also comes with camera lens covers (wasn't expecting them lol).Easy to install, good value for money.:good:

Googling "******* screen protector oneplus 8 pro" (replace the ******* with the brand name visible on the pictures) gives a few results.
The pictures of one such result sure look like what Valentin2020 posted...
Other brands do sell similar products (try a "hydrogel screen protector oneplus 8 pro" Google search), including Aliexpress & like, with less expensive results (less than $2 per protector), but of course it's impossible to tell beforehand the quality of the product when you order online!
I have ordered one, will let you know how it goes when it arrives. Cannot be much worse than the bundled protectors anyway!

Been looking for a US seller for anti glare screen protectors and have been unlucky.

Me too. Great temporary solution ?

FINALLY. Thank you so much for suggesting this one. I was on my 3rd TPU protector of this style with the same application process (minus the piece to line up the protector which is genius). They all went on good but the edges never stay down. I thought this was going to be the same story but man was I wrong. Once you pull off that top layer the edges stuck on their own. This is a perfect protector while we wait for the dome glass to be released.

Screen protector

Hello All,
Can anyone suggest where can we get screen protectors for HTC touch cruise. I mean the protecter should cover not only the display but also the camera and notifications led's???
You should have 1 or 2 in the box. And you don't want it to cover the camera. The picture/video quality would be poor.

I had only one in the box and when i am trying to apply it, it didnt go of well. So, I want to remove it and apply a new one. Screen protector i am having which came in the HTC box, leaves holes for camera and notification led. Why we need to cover entire display is when we use the touch cube functioanility often ur fingers slips and it leaves finger spots there....
In the german forum they discuss about the same problem... nearly everybody is waiting for screen protectors from "BRANDO" They don't cover only the screen.

I second that! I have had BRANDO protectors on nearly all my PDAs and they NEVER got scratched on the screen or anything. The protectors are not cheap but worth it!
Brando replied to me they are going to ship the Cruise protectors within 2 weeks. So let's wait and see.
I'm in the same condition... I'm waiting Brando screen protector, it's the best!
I never owned a ppc before... For my TC is nothing too expensive Only the best.
a piece of plastic a small distant from the lense would work as
the evil opposite of another lense killing focus
if you didnt apply it ok then redo it, i took mine out like 3 times untill i installed it correctly, i washed it with soap to clear dust and stuff and re-applied, worked like a charm
I bought a protector from Veripart together with the Polaris. It has a cutout for the speaker on the top but not one for the camera, but it is so clear that it does not interfere with the camera (not visibly anyhow). I tried a photo before applying the protector and after under the same circumstances and I did not find any differences. Besides that it makes the lens easier to clean because it is now flush with the rest of the screen. I like it very much. I never use the supplied protectors with my phones. If you ever tried a Brando or a Veripart then you will know why ;-) . The protector covers the whole of the front of the phone, right until the edges of the device.

FYI, these do not cover the entire faceplate of the Polaris. They are just standard protectors (and not very good ones at that) sized to the touch screen.

I've been using the protector that came with the phone and I find that unless I keep it clean, the touch experience is not so great. Sometimes hard to get a smooth swipe. The glass on the screen however works well even when smudged. Is there a protector out there that works better? If not, I'm going bareback.

The screen protector that came in my package with the TC covers the whole dark-grey area above the soft buttons, and has a cut for the phone and the camera. Wiping is super easy, and cleaning too. I don't know what you guys are talking about

[Review] Benks OKR+ Full Screen (Colored) Tempered Glass Screen Protector - Updated

purchased from eBay: $12.99 | took about 2 weeks to arrive from China
i was excited to install this screen protector, but that excitement quickly soured into disappointment.
the packaging was nice. the outer package was made of very think and stiff paper. the sp itself was in its out paper bag. all the other stuff was in another sealed paper bag.
as you can see from the pics, there appears to be a concave spot in the upper right that just would not stick, no matter what i tried. it was not an air bubble. i squeeze all the air from the center out, but that area never adhered. also, none of the edges adhered either. it appears that the screen protector is warped.
i did buy one of the first ones that showed up on ebay, so it may be from an early bad batch. i contacted the seller about this issue and i'll update when they reply.
needless to say, i do NOT recommend this sp.
Nillkin makes an identical-looking glass screen protector. has anyone tried theirs?
Update 1 (4/27): the seller said they're sending me a replacement today. i'll update in about 2 weeks.
also, the giant anomaly/air bubble in the upper right corner seems to have disappeared overnight. unfortunately, the bottom right edge of the screen seems to have lifted up more (new pic below). with the screen on, it's actually not that bad. it appears as a slight haze at the corners. still, i'm not happy with the SP. hopefully the replacement won't have this problem.

Update 1 (4/27):
Update 2 (5/17):
I got the replacement this week. Unfortunately, it's more of the same. The SP just doesn't want to stick to the sides. Oh well ... At least with the screen on, you can barely tell. I guess I'm used to it by now. I still wouldn't recommend this SP.

yes. it was exactly like every other half a dozen screen protectors i've installed over the past few years.
they're all the same. clean the screen. peel protective plastic off screen protector. align with phone. stick to phone.
have you never installed a screen protector before?

aside from the "air bubble" how are the edges? does it fully stick to the S6 screen edges since they curve? it looks great other than the bubbles and also i'm certain Nilkin uses the same product just branded for them
Unless if I'm looking at it incorrectly, it seems that the home button is not a perfect fit on there..... Or is that just the angle?

no, at least not all the way around. look at the new pic i uploaded. notice at the corners where there are light spots (circled in red or blue). that's where the SP doesn't adhere to the screen.
i checked before installation and there was adhesive even in the colored parts of the SP. this wasn't the case in their versions for the iPhone, which eventually led to dirt getting under the sides and the SP lifting.

the cutout is precise and slightly bigger than the home button. but since the SP is thicker, the home button is now slightly recessed (refer to the new pic). it's a little different feeling at first, but you quickly get used to it. it also doesn't affect the fingerprint scanning function.
Updated
Just installed this screen protector. Pretty pleased with the results. It stuck right up to the edges.
My Spigen case caused a bit of a problem though. It lifted up the edges of protector and caused halo effect. Resolved the problem by sanding down the inside edge of the case by a fraction of a millimeter.
Is this oeleophobic? I got a decent protector without this coating and I hate it.

I'm not sure. I got it off ebay and the product info given by the seller said it is. However I couldn't see anything on the product itself when it arrived to confirm this. I've never found that oeleophobic screens work very well anyway.

Which one is that?
It's the Capsule Ultra Rugged
I have the one from Nillkin, but I didn't buy it from ebay, I got it from a local retailer. I have no problems with it.
And yes, it looks the same as the one reviewed here. But maybe at the time the OP of this thread bought these protectors they were like just introduced, maybe in the begining all of them had this problem. After all, after some months, the accesories are very diversified and you can choose a fair amount of brands.

I mean which tempered glass do you use?
It's the Benks 9H Full Cover Curved Tempered Glass Screen Protector. Got it off eBay

Any screen protectors that are cut properly?

It seems as though the trend for screen protectors has shifted towards a lazy cut where they just chunk out sections near buttons/speakers:

I think this is ugly and looks cheap.
I'm HOPING to find a tempered glass protector that doesn't have halo and isn't cut this way.
If not, I would prefer what I believe is PET (I just know that I don't like thermoplastic polyreuthane).
Normally, I would just end up going to eBay and looking at the cheapest ones on there which generally met my needs in the past, but are now all being cut like the above.
Has something changed recently that prevents manufacturers from having a more precise cut?
Can anyone help me find what I'm looking for?
It's weird, there's tons of properly cut ones for the edge but not the standard S6. I found a couple though.
How about this?

Hey thanks for the links. Unfortunately, I'm in the US.
Is it odd that all these protectors are being cut this way or am I the odd one for caring?
Try these, not glass but almost perfect fit and good price, I would have put a link but i am not allowed to not having enough posts yet anyway its on amazon UK Anker® High Definition (HD) Screen Protector. the other option is the tempered glass screen protector from Remax with the thin black, white or gold line around the outside. Possibly the best option is this from Ebay, I am waiting on it, item number 221796267947

Nope I'm the same. I also wanted a screen protector that would cover all the metal and I don't understand why they're not cut to cover all around the speaker and lens. At the moment, I've got a cheap protector on. It still means that the top area of metal is exposed to potential scratching.
Another, eBay item no 331539692284 from China.

I am the same as well. I got spoiled with my OPO and my tempered glass protector only had a cutout for the speaker. It looked very much like nothing was there. I am not a fan of these glass cut's where they have these giant ass cutouts at the top and bottom. I know you can close it out the manufacturers just don't because it requires much more precision I guess.

I also think that the screens of the devices also require some sort of attention; there needs to be special cutouts so the protector can lay properly. I'm not sure how it works, but you are most definitely correct. I know that with the iphone 6, my wife had difficulty getting one that would lay right; mostly because of the curved edges of that phone.

Great stuff Do report back with your findings, like if it's easy to fit, does it stick down or stay stuck down all the way to the edges, and does it cover both screen side edges completely. These seem to be the criteria that people often complain about. If so, I'll get one myself.

Here you go:

You might want to consider another protector though.
I asked the person who bought it if it's any good and he said "It stays down but the sticky adhesive doesn't go to the edge so has caught dust unfortunately. I'd probably give it a miss though the cutout is perfect fit.. Shame really"
Moshi tempered glass protectors are the only things I'd use on my phones. For iPhone 6, Galaxy S6, Note 4, etc, they're always edge-to-edge with professionally-looking cutouts. These are sold at AT&T corporate stores.

Nubia Tempered Glass

I ordered the Tempered glass from NubiaMart - took a while to arrive, but now that it has, I was impressed to see it's actually made by Nubia.
The quality is very good and the package includes a plastic trim that's used to help guide the glass when installing it so that it lines up perfectly.
There a warning/recommendation to re-learn your fingerprints after installing a screen protector - unfortunately, this is the biggest flaw with the glass.
The fingerprint sensor on the 5G is finicky to begin with (the first software update improved it a bit) but with the glass installed the fingerprint sensor has become pretty much un-useable. I can only hope a future update will improve the sensor further to allow it to work with the glass installed.
Update: rebooted the phone and re-learned fingerprints again - went a bit better and working about the same as before...
where did you buy the glass? I was hoping that the fingerprint would work so how many times do you need to press your thumb in order to unlock it?
I purchased from nubiamart.com
They now have other screen protector options available for the 5G, but I purchased this one:
https://www.nubiamart.com/original-...d-glass-protective-film-screen-protector.html
Fingerprint detection is still hit and miss - sometimes it'll work immediately, other times not at all. I'm not sure if it's a matter of finger positioning or pressure or star alignment...
Hi there
I buy this one...

I got a glass screen protector with the device from Cect-shop and had the same issue.
Lots of air bubbles yet I believe I did a good job of fitting!
It ended up cracking in two places, I have no idea how. Just took the phone out my pocket and it was cracked.
Anyway, I bought the following case and got a free glass screen protector.
It fitted "almost" perfectly, one small air bubble in the bottom left (off the screen itself and on the chin).
Pretty happy with it to be honest and the case is fantastic quality.

for the fingerprint, i figured out that if you learn your fp while using the provided film it works great, but once you apply the glass it will not work, so by simply relearning the fingerprints will do the job.. =)

same here... I wonder if the 3rd party protectors with the black bar on each side fits better. All full-transparent protectors I have tried, leave these bubbles over the edges

Accessories amFilm Tempered Glass 2 months review

Want to start off with saying that I did receive the pack from TechMatte for free. However I did indicate to them that I am here to share impartial thoughts even though I received the product from them free of charge. I've written plenty of these reviews in the past that have been posted on XDA.
I have not tried other screen protectors for the s22 ultra prior to this so there is no comparison, but I've used plenty of other screen protectors on the market for various devices so I have a decent idea.
Application:
There are plenty of videos and write ups about tempered glass installs requiring liquid gel adhesive and UV light curing so there's not much to talk about here. It's not the easiest screen protector to install, of course. It gets messy, takes some patience, but it's doable. Unfortunately I had to waste 1 glass because a bubble formed in the middle of the screen and it never went away after more than 48 hours. Despite the instructions says not to move the glass to try to get bubbles out after you've laid it down on the gel, I had to for my second attempt to get it to spready evenly as I did not want to waste another glass.
Coverage and case compatibility:
From past experience this has always been an issue. I like my screen protectors and I also like using cases because I tend to drop my phone, a lot. Problem with screen protectors is they either have COMPLETE coverage which makes it impossible to use with a case, or there's too much gap. I find the amFilm provides the right balance and it is compatible with the CaseBorne R series plus a few other generic silicone cases.
Glass quality and fingerprint sensitivity:
Been a bit over 2 months, I haven't seen any scratches on the glass. Usually have the phone in my pocket without keys. I have no had any touches that doesn't get registered, finger glides across glass nicely and S pen works flawlessly. However, I've had glass protectors with better finger print resistance. This is one feedback I'm going to give to them is if they can go bit heavier on the oleophobic coating, however I don't know if that will affect the fingerprint sensor's sensitivity. Which leads me to say that this is probably the best glass protector I've used without noticeable changes to the fingerprint sensor's sensitivity. The first install with the bubble performed horribly, the fingerprint sensor barely worked. After the second attempt, I've had no issues nor complaints about the fingerprint sensor. I am not sure what they did with this because I used amFilm on my s21 ultra, and the fingerprint sensor did not perform the same as this.
Overall, I'd 100% buy them again for this device. I say for this device because my experience with the fingerprint sensor was subpar on the s21 ultra and I am not sure how they do with the other devices currently on the market.

I agree with most of what the OP has stated above. I don't use the fingerprint sensor so I can't say anything about it but everything else about this glass protector has been flawless in the 4 months I've had it on my phone. I got mine on the first try thanks to a great youtube install video which I'll link below:
My first application was a dud, glue residue poured out to the side and speaker at the top. I wiped it all off and managed to apply successfully the second time. Will the liquid glue affect volume or damage the top speaker?

Installation of mine was perfect. The only issue that I had is that there is residue of the fingerprints sticker...like a big white area on where fingerprint stays. It goes when I clean and use a tape to lift it... So it's kind of surprising.... But comes again in a few hours.
Otherwise, great protector and would highly recommend.
