Please, looking at the page on the begin, can someone help me to improve my android driver for my replaced touchscreen?
My phone is the Samsung Gt-i8320 and i replaced my digitizer with another not of the same brand of the previous.
When i install android this touchscreen is not recognized and is the same as the second page of the link shown before. Weird, it normally works in Limo SO. So, what i have to change in my driver to make it work on android? What file have i to edit?
A common place to discuss and share for MI Tv.
Please share your comments regarding your MI tv.
And anyone succeeded in rooting or porting of custom rom or recovery?
Root can be done ( following a Russian site).

Anyone having the latest pro version of mi tv with Android 8.1?
A very useful tool which shows all the required information for identifying the correct firmware in case of something went wrong with the OS. So, keep in mind to place the screenshot of it somewhere safe. The app shows the detail of your display panel id, rom version, platform id...... All this is data is required before flashing a new rom as MiTv has so many many variant like MiTv 4a 49" has more than 4 variant, like wise for MiTv 4 55". So, on every model has some different variance, all because of having different display panels and for other reasons. Some display panel will be from LG or Samsung and two other brand from Chinese manufacturer.
Mi TV is a better option for limited budget. You will get more features for less budget.
If someone could share the rom and recovery dump file from the Mi Pro android 8.1 series, it will be a great help for the other previous Mi Tv users in porting the rom. Or at least share what you find for MiTv like rooting, custom recovery or anything for others.
Btw i found a way to root MiTv but its a long process and it needs UART device. And also to block the adds by using adb without root.
Again, so many MiTv owner pass by looking for some development for our Tv but find nothing mainly because no one is interested in so little interacted thread and not able to start any developments (at least in my view). Start sharing your experience, may be starting with your best optimal display setting.

Yes, it is there but it needs to be install through UART from the diagnostic port.

First you need a UART device and then open the tv back panel and you have to make a connection at the diagnostic port on the motherboard directly.
If you are ready for this steps, prepare for the next move and let me know.

I do have the 43" global with build in Chromecast. Works nice and pic is also very good. No way to install Netflix for android tv and I cannot cast Netflix from my phone to the tv.. Everything else is castable.
Honestly I do have 43 inch 4A model. But the only concern here is do we need custom rom for this TV? I mean we already have one of the best stock firmware. Also, there is a way to sideload app from usb and once you install aptoide store then you can directly download apps from it. I have good amount of apps installed for me but few of them need mouse like Netflix and Amazon prime. Some of them need google play services so they do get installed but when you try go ahead they ask for play services. Also, regarding the UART port, opening the back panel will surely void the warranty, are people willing to go ahead with that?
I'm fond of mods and custom roms but here it is bit complicated as a TV is not a personal device which is used by only one person like a smartphone. I heard we will get the oreo update soon does any1 knows when it's scheduled?

Dear Friend,
I'm not concerned about custom ROMS here. But I want to enhance possible supported features in product not given by Mi.
I have Mitv 4a, and it doesn't support bluetooth speaker, while there is bluetooth in hardware. So by rooting and patching some firmware to make it working is my concern.
Another thing is, As phoneix rom and older Remix os were having support to replicate touch with Keyboard and mouse. If one can mimic that feature in patch ui firmaware than our MiTV will be more amazing:fingers-crossed:
I used to do same with Octopus app but its annoying for many apps.
Most important feature for me is supporting external sd card as internal storage. Which would not be possible without rooting MiTV.
What do you and others say about these?
I understand that you want to make optimum use of the hardware and explore all the possibilities. I personally feel it's a step we must take provided we have the source code and stock firmware readily available. Also, I have bought a wireless mouse and keyboard combo from Flipkart and it works like a charm. Regarding external hard drive support as internal, I feel the current version of android on MI TV 4A doesn't supports it natively. We should wait for the Oreo update and then should work towards it. Though my wife will kill me for messing up with the TV, I'm all in brother. It's just if anything goes wrong we should be able to put our **** together again

All i need is google service to use voice search. I saw some methods but they did it for inbox and TV3 series. Havent for TV4 series. Just wait and wait ?. Talk to a developer who did for tv3s (root, install google services, voice search...) but he hasnt get TV4 device.
Hi all, haven't been here since Windows Mobile 6x :silly: You were all great support back then, maybe you can help me with this.
I have an Alcatel A30 Fierce. I wanna know what my options are in terms of going "off android" and onto an entirely different OS. I still use Steepshot, KHUX and LINE, so I still need apk support... but then again I've never used an alternative, perhaps most still offer apk support? Big thing would be de-googling. I'm not sure if the OSes I'm about to mention are still heavily tied to google or are a kind of breakaway from it. I am doing this as a type of experiment for myself, to see how often I can avoid the big G whenever possible (if not, that's fine, at least I tried).
-First up is Sailfish OS. Not sure if this will be compatible with my device. I could only find the X version, which is specific to Xperia devices, don't see anything else out there, unless custom roms exist here on the forum or other's sites?
-Next up was Plasma Mobile. Can't seem to get specifics on it, seems I have to ask in a forum like this to get more useful info.
-Lastly there's Lineage. Do you know if it has the ability to cut presidential alerts (grayed out on current android). Also to simply side-load APKs and keep the appstore and other Gapps off the device (along with those automatically google opt-ins that you have to dig around to disable)? Please don't ask "why" I just want to see if this can be done.
Thanks for your time!!!
EDIT: If this can't be done, please recommend the "cheapest" phone that can do Sailfish, I will probably buy it and do that.
Hello, first of all, thank you for accepting me in the forum.
On the other hand I need help here, we have developed a Custom room in Android 11, which we are focusing on the maximum privacy of the user, for now everything is fine, and working
We have a small problem because of that and that is that we want to block the USB device in some way to give the phone more security, not being able to install programs via USB, and not extracting data, since the Room goes without Google services, but not we got it, in Android 9 we were able to, but in Android 11 there is no way to do it, can anyone think of it or know how to do it? Since we do not want to resort to EMM or UEM software from external companies to achieve that.
Thanks
PD. Room is working on Xiaomi poco X3
No one can help me ?
Can you test this Tap,Tap port on your Galaxy A32-5G please?
It's not my app. It's an app that is posted on XDA at that forum page on April 6th, 2022.
Let me know if it works for you as it might save a lot of people time & effort in that it sounds like a great idea for an app to backport Android 12 features.
EDIT: I was asked to further explain what it does!
Note: That means nobody clicks on links! Sigh.
As far as I can tell from the XDA thread in that first link (that nobody ever seems to click on, sadly) the app just adds the Android 12 tap-on-the-back feature to earlier Androids.
Nothing more than that (as far as I know).
1. Side load Tap,Tap version 1.3 from Github.
2. Walk through the setup steps
3. Let us know if the Tap,Tap port works on your A32-5G please
a. Please let me know WHICH Galaxy A32-5G works (mine is the SM-A326U).
b. Also let me know which settings work, for example:
Device Size = for example, "Legacy 160mm [6.3in] (Large)"
Sensitivity = for example, "1st Very High" indent
c. Let me know what application you launched with the double tap on the back
(and whether or not you removed the case to get it to work)
Again, I repeat, this isn't my app. It's an app on XDA developers. I'm just a user. Like you. I tested it and it seems to work for others (according to the XDA thread) but it didn't work for me.
It could be me. It could be my phone. It could be anything. That's why I'm asking for others to add value. It's not any more complicated than that.
I tried it on mine, I also have the SM-A326U and it didn't work. I tried the same sensitivity settings and the device size settings. It might have something to do with the fact that I've heavily modified my phone(debloated, disabled, etc) but I was unable to get it to work.

Hi platless,
THANK YOU for responding as I spent a lot of time testing this and documenting it and asking on the original thread and even asking the developer (who, I know, is busy developing), and I just couldn't get it to work on Android 11 either.
I didn't know if it was just the way my phone was set up, or, more likely, whether it was due to the specific phone model (the developer told me he can't test every model and I easily concur with him on that).
Like you, I've debloated my phone, and mine is also heavily modified (I use no Google apps nor is the phone set up with a Google account for example), so we're both kind of similar that way.
What I did NOT know (until you posted) was whether anyone else on the SAME MODEL as I was on got it to work, which is an IMPORTANT datapoint which you just provided.
Thanks. I'll give up on trying to get it to work for two reasons:
a. You confirmed it won't likely work on ANY SM-A326U, and,
b. I moved the SM-A326U to Android 12 which has the feature!
The only thing left, I guess, to help others, is for those with the SM-A326U who are still on Android 11 and who have NOT heavily modified their SM-A326U to test it; but at this point, I will give up on trying to get it to work for the two reasons stated above.
Thanks for being kind hearted though, and testing it out for the team!

I forgot to mention I'm also on Android 12. I was unable to get it to work, how were you able to get it to work on Android 12? And no problem, I'm always down to test stuff!
