Hello all,
I would like to transfer Viber chat history from my old phone - LG V30 to Huawei P40 Pro.
As I would like to do this without installing GMS, I'm a bit stuck, as the only easy way to transfer history Viber has implemented is over Google Drive Backup, and I cant access google drive backup
Thank you.
Huawei clone application did transfer Viber history for me from my old P30 pro!

Apparently it works if you transfer from another Huawei phone, but from LG it transfered pictures, but not conversations.

Hello,
Has anybody found an alternative solution to Wazzapmigrator (as it is not free on android play anymore). I am looking to moving all whatsapp chats and media from an iphone to a new samsung handset. Or is this not possible at all?
Look forward to your comments.
cheers!

But ISO on the iphone has iCloud as Default to backup Whatsapp. Plus As it's an 8gb iphone i cannot complete a full backup? Will appreciate if there is a solution!. Will Whatsapp on android recognise ChatStorage.sqlite (Chat saves on Whatsapp) if it is saved on google drive?
I downloaded Backuptrans iPhone WhatsApp to Android Transfer to switch my whatsapp data when I got my Galaxy Note 5. It is also a paid one but worked smoonthly. If your whatsapp chats are important enough, just purchase the program. No free one can help currently.
Google 'LatestOnNet.com' guide on transferring WhatsApp from iPhone to Android. I've recently done this. It works. Sorry, I'm not allowed to post the link here. So, you better Google the article.

Google control on exchanging WhatsApp from iPhone to Android. I've as of late done this. It works. Apologies, I'm not permitted to post the connection here. Along these lines, you better Google the article.
I have just purchased a Huawei P20 Pro and it should be with me any day now.
I have been an iOS user for the past number of years and I have some questions about transferring some stuff.
I read the tutorial here and am wondering if it's really that simple?
I am also wondering if I need this contacts app instead of the one the Huawei has installed (presuming the Huawei comes with one installed!)
Any advice is appreciated!
First things first, what do you want to be transferred? Phone book is simple enough, sync to google account (gmail) wil do.
Whatsapp is slightly more tedious, download the database then export to android whatsapp.
What others do you need transfered?
Photos and videos i assume you can transfer from iphone to pc.. gen from pc to your new phone.
Having said that, this app looks interesting.

Hi vash_h
I don’t use a lot of apps. I do think use Whatsapp and it would be nice if I could get all my old messages and pictures.
Hi.
Wife has Moto G5 Play. Recently got her a Samsung A30S. I had installed SMS Backup and Restore on her phone years ago, was expecting to use that to transfer SMS. Looked at her phone and the app was not there. Checked on Google and the most recent SMS backup was 18 months ago. Tried to reinstall SMS Backup and Restore. Wouldn't install. Looked for Google Play on her phone. It was gone too (!!) I tried installing other apps for transferring SMS and Google Play on my laptop said the apps had been installed, but nothing ever appeared on her phone.
So... how can I get her SMS messages from her old phone to her new one? Is there a way to hook the phones up to my laptop and transfer them that way? Through the filesystem?
Thanks in advance!
Visit the website of Google Play on your laptop, and login with your wife's Google account on the web page.
Then find and install some app for transferring SMS on the web of Google Play.
Now, go to that Moto G5 Play, and make sure that you login with your wife's Google account in Settings - Account. Later, you will find that app on the Moto G5 Play.
At last, take advantage of that app in order to transfer SMS.
Hi James,
Thank you for taking the time to reply with some advice. Unfortunately, the process you describe is exactly what I mentioned in my original post as not working. Sorry if I was unclear (I left off that I was using her Google account). I tried to give as much detail as I could but the bottom line is that Google Play on the web says it has installed apps as I requested but they in fact do not get installed. So I'm hoping to be able to manually copy the SMS file over or possibly get a PC based application that will connect with the phone over USB and do the transfer. Thanks again for your insight... perhaps you know something that will work with these constraints?
Thanks,
Alan

I know that software, don't ever install it, if you read what data it collects you'll have goose pumps. It uses adb and sideloads an app while you're using it. Don't ever use it, honestly it's not worth it. (And yes it collects transactions info such as your card number)
Thank You

Thanks dude,
And I'm really sorry for that dangerous information. I felt really guilty after realizing it. Thanks again for providing the correct information
You can use the Bluetooth that comes with your phone without installing additional tools.
Turn on the Bluetooth on both your phones and have them paired by confirming the passcode.
Once the two phones are successfully paired, you can go to the Messaging app on the Moto G5 phone and choose the text messages that you want to send to the new device.

Don't worry now you know
But be careful with Wondershare in general, they're pretty sketchy with their privacy policy, and please take the time to read pricy policies, it's really worth it
i'm having the same problem myself.
Hi all
I tried to install GMS a few times but didnt work and couldnt be bothered with ongoing issues - part of the reason to get the P40 pro was to get further away from google. One thing that is a pain though is updating and syncing contacts. I had all my contacts on google and would like that, if I update a contact on my phone or on "contacts. google.com" that they are in sync. Without GMS, is there a way of doing this? I have outlook installed on my phone but that doesnt seem to be doing the job - what am I missing? Thanks
Don't suppose anyone knows the answer to this ?

Export them and use Huawei backup to keep them backed up.
Use an old Huawei phone (with GMS) to import your contacts on Huawei ID.
Then, in the new phone, choose Huawei ID as default place for your contacts (show/save).

Sorry for ignorance. Is huawei backup windows based?
FYI the way I ended up doing it was to export VCF contacts by going to contacts.google.com in browser in the phone. Then imported using the Huawei contacts app. It seems to work but merges imports. So if you have deleted an email address in a contact in google contacts, then use my method, it won't reflect that after import (i.e. you still have the email address on your phone which you deleted on google contacts)

Not possible, though if you have Google Photos installed, they might have automatically been backed up to cloud. You can check by going to photos.google.com when logged into your google account

Hi, nice to meet you. If there is no backup of the deleted photos and videos, first stop using it. Cause if they are overwritten by new data, there is no way to recover them back. Then you can ask help from pro shop. Or if you are good at computer, you can also use Samsung data recovery software to help you recover the deleted videos and photos back. There are so many such software online, but they are not free, too. Just have a try, and good luck to you.
