I inadvertently asked this in my other thread, but I feel this deserves its own thread as it is quite a big issue?
I have tried multiple camera apps, including stock and none of them give me a HDR option. All of them just have the timer, flash and photo size at the top of the screen. I cannot see any option for HDR in the settings tab either.
Any ideas? I feel like HDR would make a big difference for the stock camera and GCAM. I've only had the phone for 2 weeks (bought used) and haven't noticed HDR since I've had it.
Thanks
(I am running the latest OOS, fully up to date)
Go to OOS Camera Settings ( You can find settings in camera modes) and enable Manual HDR Control. I forgot how to enable it in GCAM but I think it's pretty similar.

Genius. So simple!
Thanks very much.
Hi!
So, long story short, before having shifted to Lineage OS 16 from the stock ROM, I saved the stock camera apk, so that I could install it after I flash Lineage OS. But now, with Lineage OS working fine, I can't seem to install from that APK. It says something like "The app couldn't be installed".
Please, can someone help me? I really loved the stock app. I can use GCam, yes, but all ports of it have saturation and contrast problems, and that's why I need the stock camera badly.
Help! ?
Don't even bother. Stock camera runs with it's own oppo libs. Just like gcam ports run with Google libs injected into the apk. Same is required with stock camera apk. Someone who knows how to do that needs to inject oppo libs into the apk and make the app think they're provided there.
Can anyone then teach me to tweak the image's color correction in Google Camera? I can tweak it to look life-like, the only difference is that there's no settings visible to the user in GCam except for the Saturation and WB.
GCam is too desaturated here, with unwanted Chromatic Abberation too, and very less vibrance. I wish there were sliders somewhere in the app. ?
Download and install this minikon gcam version. It feels really professional and if you know how to tweak it you can take great shots. Set AWB to Pixel 3 or Pixel 3a for great color.
The app was really great, I tested it. The only downside was that i couldn't find a way to change the Aspect Ratio to 16:9, so I had to go back to the port I was using before, the one you shared as the best port till date.
I could tweak the rear camera settings by changing the overall settings, the only thing that remains is the front camera, because there's no explicit options for that.
Is there a way to change the settings?
Regardless, thanks a lot for replying.
Hello! My gf has an s10e exynos, and now I have an s21. The camera difference is pretty big. I remember I used to install some roms in an old note 4 that had the note 8 camera port.
Is there something similar for galaxy s10e to install a port or the stock s21 camera?
I am asking this because it seems that the camera app has some software processing improvements.
Thanks!
Hello, there is some Android 11 port with oneui 3.1, i think they have the same camera that your S21.
Personnaly i stay on android 10 with the fabulous Zero Camera mod (allow bitrate, sharpness and denoise modifications).

Where did you find the mod for the s10e android 10 ?
I've asked the dev of the app directly and he said he stopped developing it after android 10 and i couldnt find it in the google play store , would you mind pointing him in the right direction where to get it ?

I have disabled sharpness and noise reduction on my stock Android 11 camera app but the output is too noisy. Better use stock app without noise
How did you do it and can we have a go to try it out ?
I plan on testing out the various Google Camera ports out there when I get this phone, but I was wondering which one anybody else had the most success with and whether there are any existing configs that should be used with it. Thanks in advance.
I'm using (MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1w_ENG), works great and is stable.
Tried many of the other 8.x camera ports but had trouble with green tint pictures.
Have not had time to mess around with configs yet, happy with default settings.

Thanks for this info..
Google camera mgc.8.1.101_a9....ENG. .
Working perfect on GSI android 12 pixel experience...
I was already fairly impressed with the stock moto camera quality (Moto G Stylus 5G 2021 / Android 12) but I installed Gcam and it's consistently taking better photos when comparing stock app vs gcam, even indoors.
Very nice and it was simple to install, using default settings so far, version is MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV2a_ENG
EDIT: Ok when testing further out focus outdoors it seems the stock app is a little better focused in the distance but so far that's the only negative i'm seeing. I'll have to mess with it, also not using any config files (yet).
You should try the Greatness 8.2 and I still think I get better results with the latest Butchercam. I think it's a GCam 7.x but I think it looks better.
Bumping thread, with some "new" info. I've had good luck using
SGCAM_8.8.224.10_STABLE_V8Fix_googlecamera.apk from the link below

The settings I had to change to get it to work was turning on auto white balance (pics were green without it turned on), then I went to the advanced->ancillary camera settings to turn on the ID2 and ID4 cameras so the buttons would show on screen. Renamed ID2 to wide lens, and ID4 to Macro lens. I don't know if I used correct terms for names, the ID2 is the 0.5 camera and the ID4 is the flower icon camera from original camera. ID1, ID,3, ID5 options seems to crash app so I couldn't figure out which one goes to the physical 4th camera on back, so no clue how to access that particular camera plus I don't know what it's for.
Video and everything else appears to work without crashing. It does crash as I play with setting to get it to work better, but
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 pro. I changed OS from MIUI to PixelExperience, but it was too buggy (although the cameras all worked), so I changed to LineageOS. Now, even if I install gcam (using gcamator) I can't get access to the ultrawide camera or the macro camera any more. I don't have ultrawide lens option in the app (even in OpenCamera). Have I missed something? Is there a custom app that will find my cameras? Is there a better forum to ask this question?
TIA!

Camera is always an issue with Custom ROMs because stock camera is proprietary property, the developers that create custom ROMs can not use and do not have access to canera source to include in the ROM. Virtually all LOS ROMs have camera that doesn't work when the ROM is first released, sometimes the camera is fixed sometime after the ROM is released but often it never gets fixed. The only working solutions other than fixing it during the ROM building process is to try various camera apps from Playstore but it won't have your stock camera's features. If you want to use your stock camera's features, you need to go back to using your stock ROM.
