Why would you ever contemplate doing that?
What exactly did you expect to happen?

I explain that my Motog7power has no IMEI or null, so I had a copy of efs imei of my Motog4plus. I wanted to restore that imei in my motog7power by twrp already when I restored it, it went out and didn't turn on.

Persist is a device specific partition with unrecoverable information.
And you replaced that with not only another devices data, it wasn't even the same model.
I can't fathom why you thought that was a good idea.

You flashed G4 persist on a G5?
All I ever saw was some that flashed a different G5+ persist on a G5+ which causes problems later.

Thank you so much! I was sure it was dead!
By the way, if you're getting errors when running blank-flash.bat, try holding the power button for ~10 seconds, then trying again.

if someone leaks a new blank flash, send the download link, because I am looking for the xt1955-1 that gave brick in the PPOS version29.114-134-10 retbr

successful blankflash on xt1952-4

so after many, many, many hours of tinkering with the blankflash from various devices. i finally got the right combination of files for the singleimage.bin using the blankflash for river. i couldnt say exactly how i ended up getting the device to take it. its failed many times, but i was running 2 command windows in linux "blankflash.sh" and or "qboot port=YOURDEVICEPORT blank-flash" at the same time and finally my device was revived after weeks of being bricked. but here is the blankflash, and may the odds be ever in your favor
Thanks!
Just out of curiosity, anyone have any luck with this ?

You'll need to install Qualcomm EDL drivers, QPST/QFIL, and a firehose programming protocol. It's a fairly in-depth procedure, but here is a link to a thread that can get you in the right direction.

Nice. Thanks for confirmation on that.
Step by Step Unbrick: Moto G7 Play
1. Install QPST programs and utilities. Reboot your PC. QPST.2.7.472_2018.zip
2. Connect your phone to your PC, open the device manager in Windows, then hold Vol↓+Power until you see the unknown device (your phone...) get removed and returned as QHSUSB or qdload.
3. Navigate to the installation folder of QPST. (Ex.) C:\Programfiles_x86\Qualcomm\bin\...
You want to be where all the hex files and exe's are at. Copy all the blank flash files for your phone to here. (Overwrite files if prompted.) Double click the ".bat" file. You'll reboot into fastboot.
4. Flash your stock firmware. Reboot. Congratulations you're no longer a brick!
Tip: If you get an I/O error when running the .bat file, disconnect and reconnect your phone and try again. -- This definitely works on Windows 10. (Windows 7/8 & Linux, your mileage may vary.)
Model Tested: XT1952-4 RETUS
Can you help me, im searching for the firehose file trying to use QFIL
, also i have no idea where to get the firmwarefile but i got the stock rom xt 1962-4
Can any one upload blankflash with a .exe, i found one but it asks for firehose
Thanks
@Spaceminer this is excellent work! It will definitely reduce the xt1952-4 fatalities that would normally end up in the proverbial Android graveyard. By the way, email me your PayPal address so I can send you a little something. [email protected]

There is no blank flash for other models of the G7 Play. Try the one for the xt1952-4. Worst case scenario it just won't flash, best case scenario, you get into fastboot and get your phone back.

Try using a different USB port. Make sure it's one that's connected to your motherboard. Try different types if you have them available, USB 1.0, USB 2.0 etc. Also try running the bat file as admin and without.

You could try renaming your stock bootloader.img to bootloader.bin, and placing it with the flash files. It might work.

if you are going to extract the bootloader with star and replace the files in singleimage.bin, I already did that and got the same error.

[HELP] Blank flash for Moto g7 Power

Alright so i got my Moto g7 Power hard bricked (XT1955-4), and i'm kind of getting desperate to get it working again. So there's a working blankflash file for the XT1955-5 (https://mega.nz/#!tVd1VaoZ!epk2yLEqnQBKEwT2QbQaOe8-4675pfj76Hs7pC5kbQE -here's the link if you need it), but it doesn't seem to work for my variant.
I've heard people get a blankflash file from other devices, swap some files in it with the ones from a bootloader.img for their device using star.exe, and get it to work on theirs. So i have two questions:
1) Is it possible for me to swap some files from the blankflash linked above, with some other files from a boatloader.img (from either stock rom, or the LineageOS file that hard bricked my device), to make it compatible with mine?
2) If possible, which files need to be repacled to make the blankflash work?
I'm really hoping someone can help me with this, as everything i haven't tried so far was to no succes, and a repair isn't really in my budget. Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert, but I played with blankflashes a while before this blankflash was posted, and this posted one worked to bring my bricked XT1955-5 back to life. My guess is that Lineage did something that the blankflash programmer doesn't like. Even though your CPU is being detected correctly by qboot (MSM8953, CPU ID=186), once the programmer comes into the equation you're ending up with:
[ 0.307] Handling things over to programmer
[ 0.309] Identifying CPU version
[ 0.314] Waiting for firehose to get ready
[ 60.430] Waiting for firehose to get ready
[120.535] ...MSM8953 unknown
[120.540] Waiting for firehose to get ready
[180.651] ...secure = no
For reference, the following came from my successful blankflash using these files:
[ 0.290] Handling things over to programmer
[ 0.290] Identifying CPU version
[ 0.300] Waiting for firehose to get ready
[ 3.324] ...MSM8953 1.0
[ 3.324] Determining target secure state
[ 3.340] ...secure = yes
It looks like the programmer is having issues identifying the CPU since in the successful blankflash the programmer ID'd the CPU in about 3 seconds; yours took about 60 secs then timed out/failed then took another 60 seconds to fail on target secure state.
I can tell you from first hand experience that the programmer.mbn in that blankflash is the only one as of 3 weeks ago that correctly IDs and works with the stock G7 Power/Ocean, since I tried several programmer.mbn files from many different Moto blankflashes while trying to build my own blankflash. I don't believe that changing the gpt/bootloader files in the singleimage.bin will make any difference at the moment since the programmer isn't even progressing to the flashing stage.
Considering the working blankflash/programmer.mbn came from the Telegram group, I'd probably keep checking there, or check Lineage forums.
Good luck!
Thanks for the response. Seems like i'm gonna have to wait, or send it back to Motorola for a repair. Contacted them and they said i could send it in, but i don't know how much it's going to cost. Thanks again for helping.
anyone know why the blank flash debricked my phone but now the speaker doesnt work for calls etc?

Glad all is fixed, but I'm kind of curious about the mismatch of ROMs since it looks like there was a flash of a Tesco Mobile (GB) ROM over a US retail ROM. IIRC the general advice is to if you're going to switch ROMs then it's safer to flash a ROM from within your phone's market.

My model is the 1955-5 Metro by TMobile Qualcomm.. I already wrote some posts here and explained best I could what I did exactly to get it to complete. It never was a fast set down and run the blank flash and I'm done thing. It took a lot of time for me every time I did it. What I mean by it took a lot of time is I ran the blank flash for about maybe 10-12 hours (not on a row haha! 30 mins here and there) and tried various things such as: switching ports on my laptop, switching USB cables and holding button combos and releasing them at different times. There was no secret or pattern , not for me anyway that I saw. It was always random when they'd finally finish and my phone would turn on. Just don't give up. And whatever the terminal tells you as far as errors don't even pay attention to it because the six times I got mine to complete it had all kinds of different errors and I looked them all up and researched what they meant and whatnot but in the end that meant nothing because they all finished eventually regardless of what the terminal read about all the errors.
What I believe worked best for me and got them to finish was not closing terminal windows. And I read this here and on Lenovo Moto blank flash forum and some other forum I can't recall but when you open a window to run the blank flash and it starts and stops, freezes up on you for say 40 -50 seconds or so .. I would minimize it and open another and keep running it and switching USB ports and cables. Every time it finished it would be the USB cable that didn't work the last time or a different port. There wasn't ever any patterns but leaving the windows open , that's how mine finished 5 of the 6 times. I only ever got to actually see visually the blank flash complete once so all the other times it finished in the background in another window. See what in saying....
Just whatever you do don't smash the phone with a hammer or your computer or scare the dog though. ?? During the times I did this it would be somewhat frustrating after what seemed like a never ending run of the blank flash occured and had zero results but in the end many months later after I had first bricked it I have my phone back because I didn't stop. Hell at one point I thought for a second that someone was on the other line messing with me. Haha! The operator as it says on the file. LMAO!
The last two times I did my button combos like this: I would run the ./blank-flash.sh on my laptop and have my USB plugged in to Port but not my phone. So terminal read: waiting for device... I held down power button and volume either up or down and counted to 10-12 in seconds in my head. Then I would still holding the buttons down plug up my USB to phone and release the buttons at the same time at different intervals. Like once I plugged phone back in while it was going I would watch it start in terminal window and count out seconds , sometimes I would release button combo at 1 second after I plugged back up as soon as the blank flash started, other times id release buttons at 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 seconds after I plugged back in while it was "waiting for device"... Try that and see. I could run that **** left handed drunk with one eyeball now I ran it so many times before. ?? Thank God for the blank flash and the person who released it to the public!

Bricked G7 Power Installing LineageOS

Hi,
I bricked my G7 Power trying to install Lineage OS. I copied Lineage OS to the SD card. I then used TWRP to wipe my device and attempted to install Lineage thru the install from zip option of TWRP. The install did not show any error warnings. Upon reboot, I was left with a unresponsive brick.
The device model number is: XT1955-5
The last working Official Android OS I flashed was: OCEAN_PPOS29.114_134_10_cid50_subsidy_DEFAULT_regulatory_DEFAULT_CFC.xml
The Version of Lineage I tried to flash was: lineage-17.1-20200302-UNOFFICIAL-ocean-robson-sz.zip
I had bricked this device once before about a year ago and found a blank flash file, but it will no longer work. The old blank flash was: blankflash_ocean_PDOS29.114-134-2. I downloaded a new blank flash: BlackFlash-MotoG7power-OCEAN-SDM632- PPOS29.114-134-10, but it will not work either.
Both blank flash files give the error: qb_flash_singleimage<>saharah_greet_device<>->change_mode<>->do_hello<>->IO_error.
I assume that I need a new blank flash file to fix this. The phone is recognised by my PC as: Qualcom HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM4).
Please give me a link for a appropriate blank flash file if one exists for my situation or advise what steps to take to revive this dead Moto G7 Power.
Thanks,
Tim

Have you tried the latest blankflash file here? https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ocean/blankflash/
I just tried both files listed in the above link and no joy. Still get the "qb_flash_singleimage<>saharah_greet_device<>->change_mode<>->do_hello<>->IO_error" error. I tried each about a dozen times.
Thanks,
Tim

Just post them here and stop trying to recruit for that discord channel...
Also, OP, I seem to remember it taking multiple attempts to recover when I bricked mine. Run that same blankflash program a few more times.

Not recruiting people I can't get the files to post here but I can on the other site it only took me less than 5 min to get unbricked when I found this one program and then the right blank flash I been bricked twice this program and right blank flash worked

EDL blankflash failed.

After having my G7 power lock up and boot into EDL mode, using blankflash resulted this error. What can I do to fix this? Here is my qboot_log.txt it generated after failing.
