[Q] Android Help!

i have a starmobile astra, same as the celkon a200, after rooting
i installed a new font using font changer in advanced mode, after booting
my phone stucked at logo, i tried formatting/wipingdata/factpry reset,
none these works..
i can't update rom, my default dir of sd is the internal not the mmc,
these are the item in recovery:
reboot system now
apply update from sdcard (w/c is the internal memory)
apply update from cache
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
backup user data
restore user data
how can i fix this? or there's any chance to fix this?
replies will be much appreciated..
maybe you can download a rom put in your SDcard .then select apply rom from sd.good luck!
First of all, I think that is important to mention what is the recovery that you have.
When you are in recovery, you can not access the device via adb? If the answer is yes, you can push a ROM to your internal sd-card and flash it.

[Q] Format data/media and internal without losing ROM flash.zip

Now that the Note 5 has NO external SDcard support, how are we suppose to do a FULL and complete WIPE inside TWRP ?
I am talking about when I want to wipe data/media ( Format Data ) to install a new custom ROM on a completely wiped clean system.
I know it is not needed allwas but I like to format data sometimes to really remove all of the old system when I install a new ROM.
With the Note 4 you could just put the new ROM onto the SDcard and format the internal memory safely, and just flash the ROM
from the SDcard.
What can we do now ? If I format via TWRP it will wipe the internal SD area and wipe the new ROM also so I cant flash.
Thanks for any ideas.

Easy, do an advanced wipe in twrp and don't check mark internal storage or the OTG, only
check mark system, data, cache and dalvik and nothing except do a factory reset in twrp.
(doing it this way will not delete anything on the internal sdcard.
Good luck!
Have a nice Thanksgiving!
Haven't tried on this phone as I haven't rooted but adb push should solve your question.

[Q] FORMAT Data/Media... ?

I would like to format my /dat/media.. and then I would like to re-flash the ROM I am using. Since we all know the Note 5 does not have a sdCard port/reader
I can not figure out were to put my ROM that I will be flashing. There is no safe place to store it is there if I do a full FORMAT of /data/media. If I
format /data/media wont that wipe everything ?? even my image file of my ROM. Normally I would store it on an external sdCard then format /data/media..
and then copy the ROM image file back from the sdCard to the phones internal sdcard.
Bottom line .... I want to WIPE my entire phone EVEN /data/media then re-flash my ROM.
Thank you for any tips help.
My phone currently is Rooted and running [MULTI-LANG-6.0.1] TEKXodus HYBRID N5/S7Edge URv7.5E 5/04/16 N920X/G928X

If you have twrp recovery, it will not touch your internal sdcard or any of it's contents unless
you purposely click on the advanced wipe option indicating that you actually want to format it.
By default the internal sdcard in twrp is not check marked.
Simply doing a "Wipe" and a "Factory Reset" in twrp will not format, wipe or delete anything
located in your internal sdcard.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Yes BUT you missunderstand what I am trying to do. I want to WIPE internal memory. I want to wipe all traces of old programs located both on the internal SD and also located in data/media
Make sense ??
If I do it your way it will still leave all the stuff in the internal area and without doing a format DATA ( YES ) the stuff in /data/media will also still be untouched.. I want all traces of old user installed programs gone.
Help ?

With twrp thats easy too, simply click Wipe and then click "advanced wipe" and there you will see options
for each individual type of wipe, Wipe Data, System, Cache, Dalvik and "Wipe Internal SDCARD".

I am so sorry, but I am still confused. So were would I put my image file (my new ROM) so it is safe from a wipe since you are saying it is ok to do this:
Wipe: cache devcache data internal system and then FORMAT DATA ( data/media )
??
To me this seems like it will wipe the ENTIRE PHONE ... were would a safe place to put the ROM be so I can flash it after ..??

Copy the image file into your computer then after the wipe copy it back into the phone while the phone is still in the twrp screen.
The new twrp 3.0.2 allows USB file transfers while twrp is running.

[HELP] Internal storage 0MB twrp

Hey guys.
I recently decided to root my Samsung Galaxy S7 and my first attempt I think i soft bricked my phone so I flashed back to the official firmware and then I successfully rooted the phone so I continue and download rootchecker to check if the root worked and begin downloading and backing up my files through titanium backup.
Now here's the problem: When i put my phone in recovery mode, going into the twrp, I can neither wipe system, clear cache, dalvik or data it gives me error something about "Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Unable to locate storage device.
Nor can i find any zip custom roms I've downloaded either, it says that my internal storage (0MB) that can't be true.
I don't really know what to do, I've searched as much as I can.
Edit: I am very sorry in case there is already a thread for this type of problem I was very quick in creating this thread, looking around the forum atm for something similar to mine.
Sincerely ~ Guardian

Hi
Did you do step number 10?
Only if you want internal storage or data to work in TWRP:
Go to [Wipe] -> [Format Data] (not advanced wipe) -> type "yes".
WARNING: This will wipe your internal storage, disable encryption, and factory reset your phone!
Go to [Reboot] -> [Recovery].
Hi guys, is there any way to back up my internal storage before I wipe via flashing with odin or something please? I only backed up using Titanium Backup thinking it was all going to be alright just like all my other devices in the past... I cannot access the system since I get blocked with verification has failed please reset your device" sort of message and thus cannot back up as I am now.
I want to root my galaxy s7 running Android 7.0 but I do not want to lose data. Please help. Does chainfire autoroot package work for 7.0?

Hi mate
CF autoroot is not working yet as far as i know you have to use Super SU zip and TWRP but you do not have to loose your data..
depends in what you want to do, you can install TWRP , root and not format the data partition you only need to format the data partition if you want to access it from TWRP , like to flash mods from the data partition. This is valid if you pretend to just root your stock rom and stay with it.
If you want to root and flash a custom rom then you have to format your data partition
But on autoroot.chainfire.eu a package is available for s7 running 7.0
Not sure if I must flash that.
Plz help me

Hi
As far as i know is not working correctly.
Search Chainfire thread
As i said....you can flash TWRP + Dm Verity+ SuperSu zip and root your stock rom without formatting your data partition, you ONLY need to formatt your dta partition if you want to have access to it from TWRP
THANK YOU!!!

thank youuuuuu!! Took the plunge, wanted to install twrp to make a backup, since i was 3/4 there and either had to install SU or verity disable, i decided to just for for it and install SU... but then i couldnt see the SD card or internal at all. i was so scared it was bricked due to being unable to read!
thank god i decided to mess with rooting and such before any personalizing!
My data partition can't read by twrp. I want to enable data in twrp without format data. In this case, if i only change data partition image from ext4 to exfat in twrp, can this action erase my data?

HELP! wrong sdcard size after flashing rom

I have flashed a new rom on my phone with twrp 3.4.0.0
When I got to the new UI I had no free space (both internal and sdcard)
Back to twrp I took these steps:
1. Boot into TWRP recovery.
2. Select Wipe » Advanced Wipe.
3. Tick/check the Data partition.
4. Select Repair or Change File System button.
5. And lastly select Resize File System button.
that solved the internal storage size, but the storage of sdcard shows 80MB when it should read 128GB.
I tryed the same method for sdcard but it cant be done on sdcard selection.
Is there any solution without formating sdcard?
if not please provide a solution with formating on twrp.
I have searched for a solution but no result...
Please help! i have no time to search right now!

Problem solved by replacing twrp with pitchblack ver.3 and repeating the procedure mentioned.
