What are the implications of the LOS 17.1 problems on unofficial builds - General Questions and Answers

So according to https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/fpfpva/broken_lineageos_171_builds/ all official 17.1 builds are or were "broken" and got pulled.
Ok, 17 is fine so far as well and I very much appreciate, that you are working on 17.1.
My question is: What about unofficial builds? Like this one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8/development/rom-lineageos-17-1-t4029753
Should I avoid all 17.1 builds unless I get a confirm on the fix?
Might other android 10 builds (like "PixelExperience for Redmi Note 8/8T") be affected as well or are they safe from this issue at least?

Question: CM 13 to CM 14.1 to Linage OS 14.1 (Samsung S5, klte)

Hello,
I like to upgrade my Samsung S5 (klte) from CM 13 to CM 14.1, so I can eventually upgrade to Lineage OS 14.1 using the available experimental image without losing my current settings & data (there is no experimental image for Lineage 13 I am afraid).
Unfortunately, I cannot find the CM 14.1 image for obvious reasons as the servers shut down and would like to know if anyone knows a secure & trustworthy source. I would hate to reset my phone and spend hours and hours setting it up again.
Tough question, I know. Thank you anyway.

Since I was not able to find a CM 14.1 image I decided to go for a fresh install. It was painful, but I guess the only thing I could do under the circumstances.

What's better for espressowifi? LineageOS 13 build or LineageOS 14.1 build?

Some experience lag in los 14.1 after a few reboots. However the answer depends on whether you like m or n android more. Also don't forget there are other roms too.
I have the Samsung Tab 2 10.1 and tried latest weekly LineageOS 14.1 and found it super laggy and slow. I tried wiping all the caches, data, etc, but even looking through the settings menus was slow.
Then I tried 13.1 and it was significantly better. I also tried slimrom 6.0.1 with no problems, but seeing how the last build was March 30 2017, I decided to stay with LineageOS 13.1 as they have weekly builds with security patches.

Release LOS 15.1?

hello,
LOS 15.1 is released, is there any information, when the One will get the version official?
thanks
If you mean CyanoGenOS 15.1, released by CyanogenInc, the answer is pretty clear: NEVER. COS is updated to Android 6.0.1, that's it. CyanogenInc doesn't work on OS anymore, Oneplus is never going to release an Oxygen OS build for OPO, so if you want install LOS or others custom ROM, but do not expect anything official at all.

Hi,
i mean lineageos , the offical 15.1 was released at 26 february.
At the moment the lattest official build is 14.1 but for the oneplus 3 and 5 lineage released an official 15.1.
I know that lineage is no "official" release.
My question is when will there an official release for the one?
I want no custom build.
Thanks
So you better check the title of the thread you started, becouse you wrote COS! Anyway, we have to still wait for an official release of LOS and any custom ROM based on it, as there are few problems with camera (not working) and other things not working, so they plan to solve them first and then release. The other roms using Android 8.1 use Sultan Blobs or other to make camera works etc, but it is not the same. You just have to wait.
Feel free to testdrive my LOS build from the official sources at https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/rom-lineageos-15-1-unofficial-t3758211

Hello, I recently saw that lineage is supporting the OnePlus 9 pro and am curious if anyone knows (rumors or not) if lineage is being worked on for the standard 9?

hey guy,
for m7 (I also own one) it's an oldie device who might run with LOS 14 maximum, as I have several devices from 2012/2015 year ranges, believe me it's running very slow with 2015>android versions. I failed to run PMOS on it, LOS 14 runs very well, Im testing since an hour DivestOS if you want to compete me in tha way lol!
good luck
hello, thanks for yr input. My M7 with LOS18.1 and a gapps nano works fiine and is not slow. Of course it is an old phone with dito hardware and not too much memory, but it works still so well that it would be a pity that upgrading to the next android (12 or13 when that is ready) would not be made anymore.. Also I think of the security patches.
