They Do have different Kernelcode. The Kernel for the Mi 10 is umi and Mi 10 Pro is cmi. So there will be different Custom-Kernels, Custom-Roms, maybe different Modems and so on.
It's great that you mentioned it, because there arent any Threads in the Mi 10 Pro Forums. Maybe a Moderator could separate the Threads and move them?

I have been looking all over the forums but I cant find anything (specially interested in Development) for what will be my new device on Monday: MOTOROLA PRO+
I have seen something (very little) on its predecessor (the Motorola Droid PRO), but thats no good. I understand this is a new device and things take their time (specially for what it already looks to me to be a "minorities" phone! ) but I was wandering if anyone can give me some links to related pages in the interim. This can't be done, some developers has ROMs/Mods that work not only one device...or he cretea for more phones in the same thread (no one will create same thread for every device M/T/F etc

Most of the ROMs works for G900F and USA models because they have same hardware more less, so they can be in the same menu... I think it's right to create a "G900H android development" because it has specific roms that work only on it
I don't mean to sound rude but if you don't understand you shouldn't be rooting. Search the forums, check your device model, ask devs if need be. However you are at risk of bricking the phone if you do it wrong.

But where is the Forum for the Gen 2 Variant? Should it be in here (with edited Forum Description) or should it be somewhere else? Looks like there isn't even a custom Recovery or something aside from MIUI yet!?
