Change your ROM to something more current - LineageOS 16.1 for example - as developers are now required by Google to target current versions of Android with their updates. Otherwise search APKMirror for old versions of Peel.

Not liking it is fine, but speed is more an issue of ancient hardware, not software. That said, any AOSP ROM will run circles around a Touchwiz one. That isn't opinion, but fact.

Artic Dream UX v2.0
It is what makes the phone cramp and slow
As for lineageos
Even she has problems when she wants to share something. You will not find bluetooth options or direct WiFi in sharing options
I apologize for the language errors, because I am not fluent in English. I only use Google to translate
I would accept the sharing issues over the speed penalty. Oh wait, I did. I have to remember to update my S4 to 17.1 today.
What do we choose in Open GAPPS 10?
mini
micro
nano
pico
Or something else to fit my device to avoid problems
Knowing that my device is

Thank you for your effort. Give me time to help me

The OpenGapps wiki describes the differences between the various packages. I personally use stock, but I also know how to set up a .gapps-config file to prevent apps I don't use from being installed. The minimum size package I recommend is micro, as it includes all the basic elements found in the other packages.
How do I hide this from the top of the screen
Microphone icon
And the trebuchet launcher

Search in settings for status bar options. That should allow you to remove the icon. Then install a launcher from the Play Store of your choosing, e.g. Nova Launcher
How can I send via WiFi Direct?

Can't help you there as none of the Galaxy S4 devices have built-in FM radio. You'll need to use a streaming radio solution like IHeart or TuneIn for that.
P. S. I don't know about WiFi Direct as it's a feature I don't use.

Hi everyone.
This is my very first Rom bundle.
It's based on Cyanogen Mod 6.1.1 (The latest stable release),
Despite all standard Google apps, the following Google apps are added into the bundle:
Chrome To Phone
Finance
Translate
Listen
Authenticator
YouTube Remote
Google TV Remote
Scoreboard
Buzz & its widget
Shopper
Gesture Search
Reader
Goggles
Books
Sky Map
Removed apps:
Dev Tools, Spare Parts
(Please have a look at the attached screenshot)
I've been using it for one day, tested all the Google applications, have encountered no stability problem.
What is not working:
Although "Panoramio Uploader" app exists, but it doesn't show when click "Share" in Gallery application.
Thank you for your attention
Grab it here:

gone give it try.
Downloading.....

Why?
Why would you remove spare parts? Its small, and allows you to customize the various window speeds, check battery time and life, and various other functions.

I'm very new to Rom modification, so I thought I start with something easy.
As a big fan of Google, I use almost all Google applications on Nexus One, so I decided to put most Google applications into one Rom package.
If someone is also big fun of Google and uses a lot of Google applications, then this Rom bundle might become useful
Sorry if I am wrong, as I said, I'm very new to rom modification.

Hello,
I was wondering if there was an Android app like Activator on the iPhone? I have searched to the best of my abilities regarding this question but have not found a clear answer. The closest I have come to finding this answer was the app "LaunchKey." However, it does not seem to fit what I am looking for.
Reason for this search is due to my brief episode with the iPhone 3g and yes I know...(after finding out, android system is definitely better in terms of customizing and freedom) Thus during that time I came upon this app called "Activator", which is basically amazing. Now that I am back using the android system I realized the only I miss about the iPhone was that app.
So if anyone can help that would be great! Thanks!
BTW:
Background information on the iPhone jailbreak app "Activator." Basically you can launch any apps and system actions via gestures or hardware buttons. (such as long-press, short-press, double tap,etc...)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464
and for gestures Im not entirely sure where I saw it or or what it was called but it does exist.
Reply
Thanks for the reply, however, I did stumble upon that app but it does not really support long press, short press, double tap and other various hardware buttons. As for gestures, I guess it does not matter as much as the hardware button configuration. Basically can a button have more functions than just one ie: home button-going to home. Thanks
I'm hoping that this app exists, as its one of the first apps I discovered years ago that was auto installed after jail breaking my previous iPhone. The app basically allows you customize a very large range of settings as shortcuts.
http://m.lifehacker.com/5899492/mak...hen-you-connect-or-disconnect-your-headphones
not strongly related but here's an app which I found very useful:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tora.mamma.swipestart
Thanks!
Thanks for your input I however have found the app "SwipePad" to be extremely useful, albeit not the original application I was looking for but it does the job Thank you again!

Widgets are great but you still have to unlock the phone and look at the screen and press it. With activator you can, for example, press the power button of the phone twice and that will initiate the flash light... this is much better when you are in need of the flash light quickly...I wish android had something like that...

I believe since the time I have posted this question to the present, there have been alternatives as well as actual implementations to the hardware tweaks. Currently, there are baked in hardware tweaks in custom ROM such as CM10.1 (lock screen long press buttons do variety of different things) or software programs such as swipepad, or Trigger app (Both of which I use a lot)
My current ROM CM10.1 has the capability of accessing the flashlight from the longpress of home button while in lockscreen. Or even changing music volume and music track by volume press/longpress. This I consider the equivilent of what you were referring to.

**ATTENTION: any of the information I have provided are based on my own experience/knowledge/research. IT IS IMPERATIVE(important) that you do your own research to double check my information and advice. If ever in DOUBT, ask/research around. (or dont follow through is usually the safest option) YOU are ultimately responsible for what you do with YOUR device, if you don't believe this, please do not continue dabbling in this area.
You should be able to do that, to "unroot" your phone, but it depends on the device as well as the instructions that other developers/rooters have given. (meaning not 100% probable, you need to do more research)
*JUST NOTICED YOU SAID YOU ARE ROOTED
-To get Stock ROM, just download the appropriate ROM zip files and then flash it.
-if you want to get warranty back, you will have to follow instructions for your device on how to unroot. (if even possible)
Follow the instructions given on the cyanogenmod website, usually involves flashing and wiping. (sounds like you have a samsung phone )
Based on question 3 statement, I believe you have to do MORE research. (as this is an extremely basic idea of rooting, unless of course I misread or the question was mistyped) Here is where you can start:CM about
Again, you have to do MORE research yourself, google is your friend for that. There is no one size fits all unrooting method.
Cyanogenmod (also known as CM) has an software release life cycle. (not counting the M snapshot nor experiments) You have Stable>Nightly> Release Candidates(RC).
Taken from this Forum
bassmadrigal:
Stable is after all the features desired by the CM devs have been put in and the code has been tested. Snapshots (M builds) are builds done roughly once a month that has had some testing to make sure things are mostly working and released to the public. These are the first builds that allow official bug reports on the project manager site, https://jira.cyanogenmod.org. Nightlies are automated builds that are built, well, every night. There is no human interaction with these and they are largely there just to see if the code added throughout the day will compile. As far as the devs are concerned, there are no bad builds with the nightlies, because if it doesn't build, that is news to let them know that something is screwed up in the code. They don't accept any bug reports on these builds.
Generally, the nightly builds, while extremely experimental and considered bleeding-edge, tend to be relatively stable and mostly bug-free. Many people use the nightlies as their so-called daily-driver, meaning that any bugs that they may have aren't so severe that they want to switch to a different version. For my Nexus 4, as soon as I got it I switched to a nightly build and haven't had any bugs pop up.
Also, all builds are full builds, so if you switch to a nightly, you aren't required to flash every single nightly. You can do it as you see fit. I've been known sometimes to flash a build every day, but then I've gone a month in between updating. Just grab the latest version you want to flash and flash that one.

I am starting this thread for open discussion of the nightly builds for Fugu(Nexus Player) by the AICP Team. I am in no way affiliated with AICP, but I have used their ROMs on several devices and they offer a huge feature set. Their builds for the Nexus Player are based on Android TV as far as I can tell. My experience testing has not been terribly smooth but i see a lot of potential. I've reached out to the team in hopes of getting more information about a maintainer and who to provide logs to. I have only been successful in booting the ROM using dhackers PureNexus leanback gapps package. Many of AICP's benefits and features are not related to the AndroidTV Launcher interface, so try it out, report back your results.
If anybody knows of a NON leanback gapps package (android x86_64) for MM 6.0.1, please share its location as I think a non leanback package will resolve all of the hiccups I've encountered while testing the nightlies.
As of 3/10 build, I get freezes of the launcher, sometimes the AndroidTV settings will not populate images when navigating(back out and reselect a few times and it fixes), backdrop.apk FC's and will not run(can replace with another daydream app), and mic search does not work.
Anything else not working? Lets share with each other.
Link to nightlies:
http://dwnld.aicp-rom.com/?device=fugu
Hopefully we can show AICP that there is enough interest for this and they will join us in discussion or perhaps open a thread in Nexus Player Android Development.

My apologies, I was on mobile and did not see your banner and realize
My first question: who is maintaining builds for the Fugu? I have tested the last 3 nightlies and it doesn't appear that anything is ever mentioned in the changelog that includes Fugu.
Second, is it possible to build a version of AICP based on AOSP rather than AndroidTV? while the android tv interface is nice, you can use the Android TV launcher installed on top of a regular base build of android. but when you build from source AndroidTV base, I think the rom is very unstable. I think an aosp tablet version would do the community a great favor.
Third.... can you direct me towards a suggested gapps package to flash with the Fugu nightlies? the only one I can find that advertises it is leanback for the fugu is a package by dhacker. I am hoping someone knows of a gapps-non.leanback-6.0.1 compatible with x86_64 hardware.
So
This just happened:

So far I am experiencing the same behavior while using both leanback and opengapps packages. This was similar to my previous flashes prior to the switch to tablet ui....
I get immediate and constant FC's from playstore and play services. If left alone long enough, I suspect that with internet connectivity... It updates in the background and FC's stop after 15-30 minutes.
I have not seen a status bar and or navbar.... So a little confused about the tablet ui?
When attempting to flash with opengapps.... Would not get through initial setup... Stuck at checking for updates. I am going to flash again with no gapps in hopes of seeing status/nav bars
Same here with open Gapps, going to try leanback next.
Leanback gapps will flash and boot fine. Initial setup requires manual.
The AndroidTV settings interface remains buggy. Getting stuck on home screen of leanback launcher or while in settings. In settings the screen goes just to background and doesn't load the selected settings. Can hear ui sounds when navigating, but have to back out and reenter multiple times before anything loads
Tablet ui does not appear to be activated or present
I'm about to throw my Nexus Player in the trash and buy the new Chromecast lol. Even on the stock ROM my cast is hit or miss, still a pretty good gaming device. Has anyone on this thread tried VLC player on the Nexus Player, thinking about putting my movies on a flashdrive and just playing the file on my NP?
VLC or MX player work great. You could just leave your media where it is on your network, and set up a Plex server. And I haven't tried to cast something on AICP yet, ROM wasn't stable enough that I got that far in testing.
The ROM is not ready for prime time.
But on stock, have never had an issue trying to cast and it not work

Having to send your local media to a cloud server and then back to your nexus player isn't as efficient or reliable as keeping the stream within your local network. Video stream has to go through multiple servers before it reaches your "play-to" device.
You can even set up a samba share on your PC and enable that directory in Kodi. Is an option under settings/services/samba in Kodi.
I use Kodi everyday on my Nexus Player, so it is easier for me to set up that way where it can pull the directory from my main PC in the house. However, Plex server essentially does the same thing, just its own interface.
I've never used the VideoStream extension more than a few minutes to test so I can't give ya any input in it not working well for ya.
All that said, none of this is related to the AICP rom. If you are trying to do all of this from AICP ROM you are bound to run into issues because the ROM is not ready for primetime use

Anyone having the latest pro version of mi tv with Android 8.1?
A very useful tool which shows all the required information for identifying the correct firmware in case of something went wrong with the OS. So, keep in mind to place the screenshot of it somewhere safe. The app shows the detail of your display panel id, rom version, platform id...... All this is data is required before flashing a new rom as MiTv has so many many variant like MiTv 4a 49" has more than 4 variant, like wise for MiTv 4 55". So, on every model has some different variance, all because of having different display panels and for other reasons. Some display panel will be from LG or Samsung and two other brand from Chinese manufacturer.
Mi TV is a better option for limited budget. You will get more features for less budget.
If someone could share the rom and recovery dump file from the Mi Pro android 8.1 series, it will be a great help for the other previous Mi Tv users in porting the rom. Or at least share what you find for MiTv like rooting, custom recovery or anything for others.
Btw i found a way to root MiTv but its a long process and it needs UART device. And also to block the adds by using adb without root.
Again, so many MiTv owner pass by looking for some development for our Tv but find nothing mainly because no one is interested in so little interacted thread and not able to start any developments (at least in my view). Start sharing your experience, may be starting with your best optimal display setting.

First you need a UART device and then open the tv back panel and you have to make a connection at the diagnostic port on the motherboard directly.

I do have the 43" global with build in Chromecast. Works nice and pic is also very good. No way to install Netflix for android tv and I cannot cast Netflix from my phone to the tv.. Everything else is castable.
Honestly I do have 43 inch 4A model. But the only concern here is do we need custom rom for this TV? I mean we already have one of the best stock firmware. Also, there is a way to sideload app from usb and once you install aptoide store then you can directly download apps from it. I have good amount of apps installed for me but few of them need mouse like Netflix and Amazon prime. Some of them need google play services so they do get installed but when you try go ahead they ask for play services. Also, regarding the UART port, opening the back panel will surely void the warranty, are people willing to go ahead with that?
I'm fond of mods and custom roms but here it is bit complicated as a TV is not a personal device which is used by only one person like a smartphone. I heard we will get the oreo update soon does any1 knows when it's scheduled?

Honestly I do have 43 inch 4A model. But the only concern here is do we need custom rom for this TV? I mean we already have one of the best stock firmware. Also, there is a way to sideload app from usb and once you install aptoide store then you can directly download apps from it. Dear Friend,
I'm not concerned about custom ROMS here. But I want to enhance possible supported features in product not given by Mi.
I have Mitv 4a, and it doesn't support bluetooth speaker, while there is bluetooth in hardware. So by rooting and patching some firmware to make it working is my concern.
Another thing is, As phoneix rom and older Remix os were having support to replicate touch with Keyboard and mouse. If one can mimic that feature in patch ui firmaware than our MiTV will be more amazing:fingers-crossed:
I used to do same with Octopus app but its annoying for many apps.
Most important feature for me is supporting external sd card as internal storage. Which would not be possible without rooting MiTV.
What do you and others say about these?
I understand that you want to make optimum use of the hardware and explore all the possibilities. I personally feel it's a step we must take provided we have the source code and stock firmware readily available. Also, I have bought a wireless mouse and keyboard combo from Flipkart and it works like a charm. Regarding external hard drive support as internal, I feel the current version of android on MI TV 4A doesn't supports it natively. We should wait for the Oreo update and then should work towards it. Though my wife will kill me for messing up with the TV, I'm all in brother. It's just if anything goes wrong we should be able to put our **** together again

First you need a UART device and then open the tv back panel and you have to make a connection at the diagnostic port on the motherboard directly.
If you are ready for this steps, prepare for the next move and let me know.

I am using Samsung A51 running on Android 12. My device is lagging since last few days. I want to debloat my device. I had debloated once, but it stopped working settings app when it was running on android 11.
I need the debloating list which don't crash any essential app.
Please help me.
hello, for more comfortable debloating i will recommend you to use ADBAppControl.
i do not know by what way i debloadted my phone, but in that programm you have a feature of backing up the .apk file of the application you uninstalled.
You can debloat your phone by this tactic
1. Debloat your phone without uninstalling system applications;
2. Debloat your phone by uninstalling samsung applications (samsung free, samsung galaxy friends);
* If you want more, you can follow this site: https://www.alliancex.org/shield/apps.html
or (i do not think, really) flash a custom ROM, like elementary OS
If it was help, let me know)

Thanks a lot. I'll give a try.
Hello, by the way, now I want to go back to the custom ROM, and I may make a video about what I will be able to remove from the phone avoiding future bugs and problems. if you want

Ok, give me the video link.
hello, wait about 30 minutes
THE video is done! But I am sorry about its quality
Leave a feedback, if it helps)
Just debloated by this way. But the ram usage is same.
i would say it is the problem of the ROM, because it uses another frameworks for modules of wi-fi, for example or of mobile communication.
When I used SuperiorOS, where the most programm part has been built as open-source, the usage was at least 2 times less.
But you should not only focus on RAM usage, because those apps drain you battery and internet traffic, too

Any bug free custom rom?
Sorry i did not get you, can you type it in another words?
Do you have any custom rom without any error/faults?
If you ask me, I do not have, but I can advise ROMs from another users of XDA
They are like SuperiorOS (with custom kernel installed, for avoiding MTP issue, with GAPPS), ElemantaryOS or Refined UI
Other ROMs I simply do not perceive as something needed to do so (because of its quality).
But you need understand, that nobody except of the manufacturer will create a bug-free OS for the certain phone, I think.
But custom ROMs like ElementaryOS and Refined UI ones seem to be a good choice, because they has been created by modifying the stock ROM
And there is also the question you need to ask youself: why do I need it?
If answers are like I want a faster experience or new features then I would say that it's not worth it
I think the problem is, that you do not want to use your device as it was intented to be, but you want to play with it by modifying and so one.
If it is, then I would say that this way of spending time is void and meaningless

U didn't get me. I want a minimalistic lightweight OS with less ram and battery usage. I used elementary os running on android 11. I have come to stock rom for android 12. And i did very wrong.
So then, I will recommend you SuperiorOS, but there are some bugs with Bluetooth and MTP. Although, I think, there are no official supported custom ROMs for SM-A515F.
But if you want to flash this ROM on your phone, you will need to downgrade (roll back) your Android version to 11 (as I tried on 12th, it did not work).
