Hi,
I have the Media Pad M5 Pro (CMR-AL19) with the firmware 8.0.0.199 (C431).
I don't get any update for a higher version, I also asked Huawei Support they told me they pushed the update but if it is still not there I should bring it to Replacement.
Well, I don't want to replace it so I wanna ask what's actually the safest method to root my Version of the tablet and if it is possible to "manually" update it to higher firmware via recovery?
Thanks for answers.

Hey guys does anybody of a root and rom for this tablet, i looked on these forums and couldn't find anything.?
you can root with motochopper method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228613
you can do it with 4.1.1 or with update 4.2.1 too it works as well
for roms we must wait a dev who could unblock our bootloader
So currently there are no roms?

where to find 4.1.x firmwares (not anymore available on asus.com) ?
Hi,
I have a problem.
My memo pad is running 4.1.1 firmware and i'd like to upgrade to 4.2.x. But seems there are lots of troubles with this upgrade version (wifi/bluetooth/touchscreen pb, root with modchipper not working anymore, ...).right now absolutely unusable.
So in case i'd want to roll back to 4.1.1 after the upgrade, i'm looking for 4.1.x firmware whole files (.zip).
Does anyone could tell me where to find 4.1.x firmwares for memo pad 301t because i didn't find it anymore on asus.com web site(the only one available is for "jp" and i'm looking for "us" versions) ?
Fast solution: I want to downgrade from 4.2.1 to 4.1.1, (the software works fine on 4.1.1)
but asus has removed 4.1.1_US firmware versions from their website. (there is only the 4.1.1_JP version)
Where can I get the 4.1.1_US firmware?
I checked sites like drivers.soft4pedia.com and drivers.downloadatoz.com for version Asus firmware 10.4.5.27.12_US but they all are now blocked from the asus download site.
suggestions?
Thanks for your help.
Have a nice week-end, all.

Why not load cromi that is what I'm running on mine.
Motochopper didn't work for me so I just used the Asus unlock tool and then I installed the official drivers on my PC and pushed twrp on via fastboot mode in ADB then I just flashed the superuser zip from inside twrp and after a reboot and had root. I created a backup and loaded a rom already.

Hello,
a few weeks ago I updated my phone to Android Marshmallow Beta by putting a file in the dload folder and selecting Local update. It worked great but now I want to go back but I don't know how.
I downloaded the firmware (Honor 4X Firmware (CherryPlus-L11, 5.1.1, EMUI 3.1, C432B310, West Europe)) from here:
hihonor . com / de / support / details / ?DOC_ID=74988
I put in in the dload folder but I don't have the option to do a local update. I wanted to flash via adb but I don't know much about it and since I haven't unlocked or rooted anything I don't think it is possible.
Please help me. I just want to revert to official stock rom of my Honor 4X.
Thanks a lot!!!!

Hi
Thank you for using xda assist
You may create an account and you can post this questions here regarding your concern

Does anyone have or know how to get this firmware? It would seem that flashing the 5.0 fw using this thread gets you a tablet thats un updatable through the Asus procedure. The reason for downgrading is to add another user to the tablet.

Yaaay but still we need custom roms or at least a proper root for the device
I wonder if desktop mode will be available as in media pad m5
You think we will still get Pie due to ban?

The update is for both M5 10.8" and M5 Lite 10.1"
Has anyone received the update?
Has anyone received this update ?
Spoke to Swedish support and they said that M5 lite was not scheduled to be updated to emui9.1
/Jakob
I didn't received Pie till this moment (Germany) Latest update was only a security patch for Orego.
Last hope, that an update jump direct to 9.1

Spoke to Norwegian support, they said Android 9 would come, but they did not have a date yet.
According to the UK support the Mediapad M5 Lite is not scheduled to receive Android 9 upgrade, only confirmed for M5 and M5 Pro.
I will never buy a Huawei device again. Only a single Android version, what a shame...
Hi guys
I'm going to buy it, could you check if 9.0.1 update is available now?
I found the guide on romprovider.com (google romprovider.com huawei mediapad m5 lite jordan2), I cannot send the URL due to guest restrictions.
Thx

As far as I know there is no 9.0.1 update.
Still a good tablet that I would consider if going for a new one.

Thx for the advise Joakob, I'm going to pay 180€ for it.
I also found a German guide to install custom ROMs. Just google "android-hilfe.de Custom Roms MediaPad M5 Lite".
I will be wonder if someone already tried to do this
Yes, thats my Guide.. But there are two different Tabs. One is main, it`s an BAH2-W19C432 and the new one is BAH2-W19C431. The guide in android-hilfe.de is only for BAH2-W19C432 cause maybe you need to revert your Firmware to an older one.

good to know mcc, thx for your guide, if I'll try it I'd like to add a specific topic on xda
Just to add a comment about tab versions and its latest firmware: I bought mine from Amazon.de for about 200 euros a couple weeks ago, and indeed it's the newer C431, running v215 firmware (still emui 8.0).
Pretty dumb, because it's my understanding that CUST 431 is for potentially-branded phones (not this) and 432 is the open, "unlocked" European version (should be this case). I heard C432 devices tend to get faster updates, so if anyone has information about switching my C431 to C432, I'm all ears.
I got a Xiaoxin 2022 with unlocked bootloader.
Current ROM is
TB128FU_S000020_220309_ROW
Is there any way to get L1 and watch Netflix with a decent quality?
I flashed a different rom (global) but it wasn't compatible with my device, since it is supposedly for Chinese market only.
I've read that LE widevine is a common issue, but I haven't found a fix yet.

Do you know any compilation I could try?
Are the cn ROMs only ZUI versions?
You have to use Chinese VPN to grab the OTA update(s) which fixes Widevine issue with Netflix. If you have (fake) global rom and unlocked bootloader you cannot do this. Other members are working on getting their fake global rom back to Chinese official rom and re-locking bootloader to get OTA updates back. When they are successful and give a tutorial/download links, you can do the same.

It was already unlocked when arrived. I'll wait until we can safely relock.

Hello, I'm not from the area but I have a little knowledge, find out where the home country settings are located. But the difficult thing is to find a tool that makes it possible to change without rooting. I saw that this configuration is found in the build.prop file on Android, but it does not allow changes to this file, would anyone know how to make the change without performing a root?
