Things already tried include:
1. 6 different types of USB cables which show charging from the car. Note 4 shows on the phone that USB is connected.
Note 2 phone shows charging but shows USB is not connected.
2. Compared settings between phones, updating to the latest software release from Xiaomi
3. Have Developer mode turned on for both Note phones.
4. Allowed all permissions when installing Android Auto.
5. The Note 2 phone connects fine to Win XP, Win 7 and Windows 10 by USB.
6. On the Note 2 phone, tried going into “Developer” choices and turned off “MIUI Optimization”. Phone rebooted and USB shows it’s connected! Was surprised that it connected. Turned “MIUI Optimization” back on, phone rebooted and USB shows not connected. Turned off “MIUI Optimization”. Phone
rebooted and USB shows it’s connected again! Feeling good that I had found the problem, I repeated the process for the third time. Unfortunately “MIUI Optimization” on or off no longer will get USB to show it’s connected.
So problem isn’t the Android Auto program. Still something about how the Note 2 and Hyundai car are doing USB that aren’t allowing them to connect to each other. Is there an app that will assist in getting the Note 2 to consistently
connect to USB? Maybe an app that checks the handshake data difference between the Note 2 and Note 4 phones while trying to connect to the Hyundai car?
Thanks,
Hi All,
I'm about to buy a phone to use Android Auto in my car, but on the internet i sometimes see that Android One isn't supported for Android Auto. Is there anyone with a Android One phone that does work with Android Auto?
Thanks!
Dennis

Quick post to check if anyone has workarounds to the annoying issue where by my Mi Box is turning off when I turn the TV off.
It seems to be related to HDMI-CEC.
If HDMI-CEC is enabled on the Mi Box - I control it using my Samsung TV remote perfectly fine but regardless of whether this is on or off on the Mi Box - my TV remote seems to turn the Mi Box on or off.
Seen lots of posts about this but no obvious workarounds. Have tried developer mode and preventing sleeping etc. but still no luck. Seems as if the signal being sent from the TV to the Mi Box turns it off!
Any ideas? or custom ROM's that fix this?
Thanks
Has anyone tried to install and launch Android Auto on Gspace
I have a Huawei Mate Xs, without GMS. I installed Gspace, then Android auto in Gspace.
But nothing happened on the car screen when plugged with USB cable.
The only way I found to display AA navigation on the car screen is to plug my old Huawei Mate 9 (with GMS and AA) to the car. As the Mate 9 has no SIM card now, it is connected to the Mate Xs by WiFi sharing... Rather complicated, no ? But it works.
So using a cheap Android phone, with GMS, is my indirect solution.
If anyone finds a software solution, I stay interested.
