Thanks for quick updates and stability.. keep up the good work.

Great kernel. I use the HMP version. It gives great battery backup. Don't play games so can't say anything about the gaming performance. But should be good.
Keep developing for whyred.

Hi Dev, I am using your kernel and for the moment I am very happy. However, I would ask you to check the functionality of the Front Cam on Gcam, a problem that practically everyone is having Now ...
many say it depends on the kernel ...
can you consider for the next release ???? thanks and good job !!!
P.s. panda kernel, latest build, says:
Merge LA.UM.8.2.r2-01100-sdm660.0 (Gcam front camera working fine now).......

thx mate,
nice work and good kernel for BB.

which one to download.?
good battery backup is main preference.(almost no gaming). most of the time spenton IM apps & watching videos.
on DerpFest rom 22/3 build. (google cam 7.3 working fine now, on stock kernel.)

thanks for the reply.
i have one more doubt. does this kernel support oreo firmware?
ie; I'm on Derpferst latest build (10.0) rom. I'm planning to flash oreo firmware (which provides better battery life) and flash oreo fw supporting kernel (in this case stormbreaker) so that Q r works on oreo fw.
does it work?

1) Oreo fw doesn't provide better battery life, it's a myth
2) yes Storm breaker is unified, it supports both fw

how can that be a myth?
i used to get 9-10 hrs screen time on pie rom+ oreo fw.
but now with similar use I'm getting 7-8 hrs scree time on Q rom + pie fw.
ie; easily 1.5-2 hrs difference in screen time.
i have read some posts here that in pie fw it shows more accurate battery but thes should that decrease screen time?
decrease in screen time means more battery usage, right?
I'm a bit confused

Kernel features:
Build with custom toolchain blu_naro-7.3 (cortex-a57 targeted, build with latest Crosstool-NG from developer snapshot Linaro GCC 7.3-2018.04)
Full -O2 build with device and target flags enhanced, linaro build improvements, etc
Less is more: stockish OP3/OP3T unified builds based on OnePlusOSS/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8996
Systemless installer (doesn't touch system partition, OTA friendly - Nougat only)
Removed some debug and logging options
ARM enhanced performance and battery patches
CVE security patches, general upstream and CAF fixes
Several CPU Governors (blu_active modded own governor by default - fastlane mode available!)
No OC, set 300HZ base timer frequency
msm_performance input boost toggle on/off (enabled by default), tweaked cpu_boost driver
Enhanced TCP methods (westwood is default), Network and Wifi tweaks and updated drivers
Several I/O control tweaks, added schedulers FIOPS and ZEN v2 is default, tweaked and upstreamed filesystems (F2FS, ExFAT, NTFS & CIFS)
Removed verify and forced encryption, Set androidboot.verifiedbootstate=green
Stock thermal driver by default (custom tunables available for ROMs with no thermal daemon)
Disabled hotplug on low battery levels
Optimized crypto routines
Swap and adaptive LMK off by default, 60 apps on background by default
Vibrator Strength tunable and Gesture Haptic Feedback control (touchpanel)
KGSL fixes and reworked GPU driver (use 133MHz min freq to save juice, goes to idle @ 100MHz)
sRGB and KCAL - Advanced color control for Qualcomm MDSS v2 (RGB calibration and post-processing features)
DASH charge and USB Fast Charge (USB mode up to 900mA with MTP on)
Battery/Notification LED control
FS fsync toggle on/off
Wakelock blockers available
zx2c4's wireguard support
CDROM emulation on mass_storage (compatible with DriveDroid 0.10.36+)
init.d support (put your scripts in /system/su.d or /su.su.d [systemless SuperSU], /magisk/.core/post-fs-data.d [Magisk])
Compatible with Kernel Adiutor and others
DOWNLOAD KERNEL ZIP and RECOVERY (No mirrors please)
Warning: If you come from other kernel or have any issues, you should dirty flash your ROM before flashing blu_spark zip to avoid problems.
Reflash ROM -> if you want root flash SuperSU or Magisk (default, no plugins/modules) -> flash blu_spark.
If you are already rooted or upgrading between blu_spark versions, just flash the kernel zip. Also uninstall or clean data of any kernel control app you're using.
Builds for OP3/3T are unified (so can be flashed in both devices).
About bugs and troubleshoots: don't bother to post if a log isn't ready or without steps so the behavior can be replicated. I only active support stock OOS with NO mods whatsoever (apart from root). That includes NO support if using xposed, Magisk with modules, etc.
If you're using custom ROMs (including OOS based ones) or Open Betas you're on your own. I'm only interested on debugging stuff in stock and stable OOS.
Save the SOT and battery stats/screenshots for general threads, here we deal with development, not personal tastes and results.
Also don't spam this thread with CM or other ROMs stuff like "this don't work, my app doesn't open, etc" , no OT about OTAs, apps, ROM bugs, Recovery/TWRP troubleshoots and other userspace stuff. There's threads for it, use them.
Going back to stock: This kernel installer doesn't change your filesystem (systemless in case of Nougat). Oreo builds touch system partition.
You can backup your boot & system (Oreo) with TWRP before flashing blu_spark if you want to go back to full stock or just dirty flash your full ROM.
If you like my work, donations are always welcome.
Don't forget to hit thanks and rate the thread nicely, it's free

I've used blu_sp★rk since OPX and don't need Dash so... I've got r17 running fine on OxygenOS 3.1.3
wow i've read a lot of good things about your previous kernel. looking forward to trying this out on my recently rooted OP3.
Thanks!!
and as an aside, it's awesome to see how much development is already going for a phone that *just* came out. awesome!!
Would love to try but I need the stock kernel to switch back.

I've been around developing for other 2 or 3 devices
nevermind, i was reading the OP wrong, it says soon for blu-active gov.
I know it's not supported but for anyone on CM13 I gave it a go. On the A3000 I didn't have WiFi or 3g/4g. Just thought I'd let anyone considering testing it what I found.
thanks for the contribution brother

thanks dear for update
Satsuki Single Sim is now finally supported
Your PDesire
Finally Flashed it! (on a clean stock rom), E6883, came from a Lollipop rom, didn't upgraded before as afraid of a too hot/drain battery/not stable phone. Now, although Stock rom is not that pretty and customized as custom roms, I will love the battery and stability. (Successfully restored most of the apps with settings, so look the same but feel smoother)
Nougat(32.4.A.0.160) was out of my expectation, it is fast, just hot sometimes, after with this kernel the battery really last longer, and super stable (Looking forward for the EAS version). Thank you PDesire!
Now I want to know if you guys recommend Greenify and antivirus for this? (you know, Nougat + DevElite kernel sounds more secure and optimized than ever)
First, thanks for all the hardwork
Flashed in a stock clean room 6853. So far
the boot is way faster than before.
Runs smoother
Runs faster.
I'll keep you updated
Kernel works like a charm, very smooth! Is it possible to use it without root though? I use Samsung Pay and it's getting upset at SuperSU.
After 24+ hours of normal use, I encountered that some Google apps close suddenly when using, especially Gmail, it happens more frequent than others. (These apps came preinstalled with Nougat and I can't uninstall and install them again). Any idea about this?

Back again!
You may remember me from my SkyDragon kernels for N6/M8/M7/G3 among other devices, I've been off XDA for a year or so, quietly making kernels and roms for myself and personal friends. Decided to come back to show the OP3 some love under my own moniker while the team is on hiatus.
This is the kernel I use as my daily driver, I'm not really looking to add things so if you want more, please find someone/thing else. My goal here to get as much performance out of our device(s) as possible without sacrificing any battery life or stability whatsoever. No Ofast or ffast-math flags that break IEEE and math operations. No beta toolchains. I compile my own toolchains from recent stable release, build them optimizing and targeting a specific processor instead of the whole architecture, and then I use those to build my kernels that are optimized for that same processor. So this kernel is meant to be as stable stock, all the performance, and none of the loss in battery. Anyways, on with the show..
~*~*Information*~*~
Kernel supports all OP3/OP3T devices running OOS Stable 5.0.x or OpenBeta 32-3x(OP3) and 23-2x(OP3T):good:
Kernel source is based on official OnePlus 3/3T openbeta source code :good:
Kernel has been compiled targeting msm8996 specifically :good:
All but C++, AR, objdump compiled with my custom-built Linaro 6.4.1 toolchain with LTO targeting msm8996/SD820/SD821 :good:
C++, AR, objdump from Qualcomm SnapDragon LLVM v6.0.2 targeting kryo :good:
Using ld.lld from clang 7 for linker :good:
No user setup required - optimal settings already applied :good:
~*~*Features*~*~
No user clock-speed modifications
Flar2 sleep/wakegesture features (Disabled by default, no vibration, enable with EX App)
Stock wake gestures still have vibrate functionality
Swappiness set to zero by default (we have plenty of ram)
vfs_cache_pressure set to zero by default (we have plenty of ram)
ZRAM disabled (why write to slow storage when we have all the ram)
Maple IO Scheduler set to default (IMO best balance of performance/battery life)
Westwood TCP Congestion Profile set to default (Personal preference)
CRC Check Toggle-able (disabled by default)(~%30 performance boost when disabled)
FSYNC Toggle-able
Boeffla's LED Notification
Boeffla's Wakelock Blocker
Savoca's KCAL Control
Fast Charge support for PC charging (1amp instead of .5amp)
Tweaked Alucard Governor (not default, will need to set manually)
DTS Eagle+DTS Ultra
KLapse-Livedisplay Support

HDK-Mod - v1.0.0
This is my own modified build of Grarak's Kernel Adiutor app. Now unified for all my kernels.
I have added a few extras that were missing for sound control, pdesire audio, DCI_P3 mode, tbalden's kcal modificaiton, sultan's battery cycle/charge commit for msm8996, and Tanish2k09's KLapse-Livedisplay.
You may need to disable Play Protect temporarily to install, working on adding to the play store to negate this issue.
Also changed the theme, and updated some stuff.
Work in progress but needed something to fully control my kernel.
Full credits and much love to Grarak for putting in all the hard work on KernelAdiutor, wouldn't be here without his work.
My source for it is here.
This is an OOS Kernel yes? Or is it for Custom ROMs that are not based on OOS too?

Thanks ! I'll give a try just for the badass name

Now I understand why my device was soft bricked ?
Fortunately a dirty flash of my firmware was enough, no data loss.
I'll try the new one !
---------- Post added at 12:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 AM ----------
Okay so :
- I flashed the 3.7 version and got stuck to OnePlus logo with "Powered by Android"
- I dirty flashed my ROM (BETA 29) and flashed the Kernel immediately after without rebooting and next I flashed Magisk 15 --> It booted
I'll see how the kernel run now.
Looking forward to trying this out! The name alone is pretty cool!
Hi, thank you for your effort for the kernel
Wanna ask, which apps I need to configure the kernel? Kernel Adiutor or EXKM?
Can It work on the H2OS?
Loved your work on my good 'ol M8, so I'm pretty excited to see you here. Thanks (as) always for the work!
Great to see a new kernel! Didn't see any mention about encryption or dm-verity. Does it bypass encryption and dm-verity?
Thanks
Excellent kernel it seems like solves the unbelievable, not compatible with Oreo's mobile phone game Caton problem.
By the way, what will happen if I use it on 7.1.1
Thanks a lot for the new Kernel, dude!
But, I would request you to add flar2 gestures, because in SA Region, it's kinda uneasy to use fp in winter!
came from a custom kernel on an encrypted 3T with magisk 15.2. managed to install this by first restoring stock versions of my system (system.img as opposed to just system) & boot (flashing Xennet's boot images w/ disabled dm-verity also works) backups. booted once to check everything's fine then back to recovery to flash the kernel. didn't need to reflash magisk as the system i restored from was already rooted. HTH someone who wanna try this kernel
thanks for your work, OP. will test & revert
Flashed on beta 19 but it broke wifi, i was on stock kernel before that. Any thoughts?

FAQ:
Could you add XYZ feature?
I will not add features I personally think are useless. I can only promise I'll take it into consideration. If you're so single-minded about that just fork my repo and pull request - I'll pick it gladly.
"My phone freezees help meeee!!!!!!!11oneoneone..."
Description, logcat, kmesg or GTFO.
Could your changes damage my device?
I don't take any responsibility for broken devices, firing from work or nuclear wars. It's a hobby project maintained in my free time. I carefully pick up changes not to mess anything up and add features that are checked and provided to work correctly. There is a small chance you could loose your phone completely, typically it will just freeze and reboot.
Where is version for MIUI/EAS?
MIUI won't be supported because Xiaomi haven't updated their repo for a long time. Building for MIUI would bring more problems than advantages.
EAS is in testing stage and will be released soon.

Yeah, it's for Oreo.
You say it is for any lineage based and miui ...i tried it with Miui 9.5.2.0 and Lineage 14.1 and it knocks the wifi out.

You should be more attentive.
Any LineageOS based ROM with vendor partition support.
It's the first time i ever heard of vendor partition support out of the many times i have flashed over different devices. Oh well, I'll just try it out with some Roms.

Soon, now I'm struggling with some v0.2 version issues and new xiaomi sources!
I guess you would see a few 0.2.x versions to get rid of any kernel misbehavior and then version 0.3 will be released with all beloved custom changes

DOWNLOAD KERNEL ZIP
FKM download configs: HERE
(No mirrors please)
Setup and troubleshoot: To install just flash the zip on a stock setup with either TWRP or autoflash kernel app.
If you come from other kernel or have any issues, you should restore your stock boot.img or dirty flash your ROM before flashing blu_spark zip to avoid problems. Also uninstall or clean data of any kernel control app you're using.
If you are upgrading between blu_spark versions, just flash the kernel zip.
About bugs and reports: don't bother to post if a log isn't ready or without steps so the behavior can be replicated. I only active support stock ROM with NO mods whatsoever (apart from root). That includes NO support if using xposed, Magisk with added modules, etc.
If you're using custom ROMs (including stock based ones) you're much on your own. I'm mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock and stable ROM.
Also try not to spam the thread with OT. There's threads for all kind of stuff, use them.
Going back to stock: This kernel installer doesn't change your filesystem. You can backup your boot.img with TWRP or kernel app before flashing blu_spark if you want to go back to full stock or just dirty flash your full ROM.

blu_spark r20 (A11)
First build is up!
Some of you may know me from other misc devices, specially Nexus and OnePlus. Recently got a Pixel 4a, so I decided to cook some goodies for it.
I've merge some of the usual stuff you'll find on my kernels, so features in OP are mostly in, some are WIP and some I want to do but might get axed (or added :silly
Stay tuned!
You can use FKM download kernel feature, just import the link bellow in the app :highfive:
blu_spark_r20 release
FKM download config: HERE
Build with Google Clang 11.0.5 + LLD linker
Latest Google October source drop for kernel, fts touch, techpack audio, rmnet data and qcacld-3.0
Initial merge of usual blu_spark goodies (checkout github for info)
Latest Magisk v21.0 mandatory for root in A11 (beta atm)

Keep in mind: I will give no active support for custom ROMs (including stock based ones).
I am mostly interested on debugging stuff in stock ROM (with logs and reproducible steps to replicate the issue).

Thank you for the support over the years mate.
I'm deeply grateful for all the good vibes since the early days on the N4 and the specially the fun we had on the N5. What a beast of a device.
Let's see how the Pixel run goes :highfive:
So far so good. Battery life seems to be on pace for 9hr SOT and that's even with AOD enabled which I never do just to squeeze every bit of battery life. Guess I'll report back sometime tomorrow to see how the first run goes. I know kernels usually take a few days before you can really get a benchmark. Been using your stuff since I developed on hammerhead all the way to OP6T. Missed how smooth and simple this kernel is.
First charge cycle. Very impressive, my friend. View attachment 5125905
