Of course there is. What does the phone do right now?

You sure you bricked it? That's the consumer version right? If you have acces to the fast boot on then we can help but if you have you boot loader unlocked then that's tuff cause we still learning not to brick for the hd . I'll tell you what though, If you boot loop or have a black screen try holding power and volume buttons until either the screen freezes and reboots or until it starts up again. Then you can access boot loader mode and or fast Boot we can flash something.

Thread moved. I know this is solved, but please do not post questions in the development section again.

Hi! After a year this topic will revive, as my phone will do I hope.
I tried to boot my phone, but it didn't work, and I cannot recover my xt925. I have the fastboot, and it says : flash failure.
I tried to unlock the bootloader from Motorola website but it said my device was not compatible...
What should I do to make it work again?

any successful flash should clear that off. just grab your stock software from sbf-developers and flash it with rsd.

Hi,
i've bricked my xt925. I've bootloader unclocked from motorola website. I wanted restore stock rom using RSD Lite v.6.1.5 but flash process had stopped to (17/22) system_signed for 1 hour...and I stopped him!! Now if i try to start phone it show only the bootloader unlock screen.
I'm able only to go into fastboot mode and if try to flash yet stock rom it stop at first step.
[UPDATE]
After several attempts I managed to get back to the starting point, Step 17/22 flash system "system_signed"...but now i'm locked here.
I have lost forever my smatphone?

My first post due to a death
The death of my XT925 was probably on the cards since I decided to wet my appetite and unroot it and also unlock the bootloader. Everything was sweet at this point, but then I decided to upgrade to kitkat. A big risk, as it turned out, since now I have a smooth attractive-looking brick. My mistake was downloading a rom, which after _nearly_ completing, failed (after many attempts to get it). I repaired it, and then installed it using some root software. I'll have to look up the names, but now I have no response after a lot of frenzied button pressing. Bootloader / fastboot would allow me to get RSD Lite fired up - but I have nothing. The last thing I did was leave it on overnight with the recovery menu on the screen. Should I get my shopping pants on?

Sorry to hear this.
Flashing is a risky process one can easily flash something that is corrupt, or have something not complete.
One user is trying to restore his with this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551113
Things to try.
1) Flashing the fxz/xml using the snapdragon fastboot command line
Last resort thx to SamuriHL
2) In custom recovery, you could attempt to wipe the system partition and see if that then allows you to flash the fxz/xml.
3) If not, wipe the system partition and then flash a known working rom in custom recovery (4.1.2).
Im kind of a noob when it comes to this stuff so bare with me.

whats your phone model L04 - L02 - L??
what was the last software version you had working
You need to download a full update package for your device from Huawei's website, unpack UPDATE.APP into a folder on an external SD card named /dload/ ("/dload/UPDATE.APP"). Get a stock recovery image for your model and firmware, plug into computer after setting up ADB and fastboot, "fastboot reboot bootloader". In bootloader with RECOVERY.IMG in the same folder as ADB and fastboot, "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". Power off phone, hold down vol up + vol down + power until you see the phone update dialog, then release, and all will go back to normal.

Now, I could go back to Marshmallow B130. But, no way forward to upgrade to Nougat. Downloading any version (B140, B150, B161) from Firmware finder results in same problem. (No Keyboard, No Factory Reset, testkeys build)
Now I have downloaded 2 FOTA zip file from hicloud
1. UPDATE.ZIP
2. update_data_full_FRD-L02_channel_in
Now, how should I proceed?

It's hosted on bigota.d.miui.com which means it's official. That is Xiaomi's OTA server.
Thanks for the link, but did you try with the mi tool? If you tried and the message about the bootloader persistis, then my suspects are true: You have to wait to unlock the bootloader in order to flash even with an Official ROM and this official tool. I was hoping this could be avoided if you have both: xiaomi tool and Official Xiaomi Rom.
Well, on this link it does not mention you need to unlock the bootloader for it: https://androidmtk.com/use-xiaomi-mi-flash-tool

this tool only fastboot rom
does this require twrp to install or a normal way to install this room
I've just tried it. Yes, you need to unlock your bootloader in order to install it. The rom doesn't seem to be complete because it keeps bootlooping after you set your location during initial setup, I guess we need to wait for a fastboot rom for now, or for Xiaomi to officially announce it being available.
EDIT: Yes, you'd need TWRP to install.

But I remember in old xiaomi devices you could flash the rom directly from updater /settings. Why Is this not possibile now?

Now it warns you that you can't install older version on top of a newer one. We can possibly get around it by flashing V9.5.4.0 first through MiFlash, but I can't find it anywhere.

I've just tried it and the bootloader has to be unlocked, otherwise the phone will not boot. But thanks for your guide, I have succesfully installed Global, many thanks so to sum things up, to install Global rom you need to:
Unlock your bootloader
Flash TWRP from Xiaomi.eu
Flash Global from first post and WITHOUT rebooting flash region fix from carburano's guide
Now you can reboot to system
A small yet important edit as I've seen my post being quoted multiple times: you need to format the data partition (which means erasing all of your user data, including all your files) during the installation process, otherwise the system will not boot. A normal wipe (without wiping your personal files) is not sufficient since the data partition is encrypted and thus unreadable for the newly installed ROM, leading to a bootloop.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on as well, probably dm-verity kicks in and prevents booting because you can see the bootanimation with the MIX logo. I hope fastboot version will get rid of such problems
P.S. If you try to boot with locked bootloader, it will reboot to recovery with a red "This version of MIUI can't be installed on your device" text.

You are correct! Here is the official blog post I just found:
https://twrp.me/site/update/2019/10/23/twrp-and-android-10.html
This is super bogus and especially since this phone (at least mine) does not seem to have a stock recovery (I get a no command dead android). I think I am going to return this phone. Shame. It's pretty slick, but no way I am going to have one that has no viable recovery!
It sounds like they'll get there, just not quickly. If you read that link closely, this seems to apply to all phones shipped with android 10. So jumping to another phone is not necessarily a solution.

why do you need a recovery when you can unlock the bootloader and use the factory recovery to flash what ever you want and they have a nice recovery option using the rescue and smart assistant software for pc mac or lin. i fail to see why you would want a custom recovery.

I haven't kept up with the android modding scene for years so I'm kinda out of the loop, but the general rule of thumb is to not do ota updates unless you're flashing full images with fastboot or using an OEM recovery software (Lenovo\Moto have one here)
As for the patch, I got the boot.img from the recovery software I linked above and installed magisk manager on my phone to patch the img which I then moved to my laptop to flash in fastboot

Hi,
First download Rescue and Smart Assistant from Motorola website, make sure activate the developer options and usb debugging and download your phone's software with Rescue and Smart Assistant (it will find it automatically), find boot.img from inside the downloaded zip file and copy it to your phone, download Magisk Manager to your phone, and patch the boot.img with Magisk Manager, copy patched boot.img to your computer and flash it with adb.
If you have a desire to get TWRP, you should write to Telegram @mauronofrio and raise some donate to develop TWRP for this device.

Same issue, I've had the same provoking anger problem with this phone and previously a Moto e5 plus. It's rooted yet no Magisk module seems to work. This phone I can't even get lucky patcher to work. Android 10 sucks, I miss the good old days of Android 6 and 7.
Anyone else notice the modules not working at all but it's rooted?
Also to do a backup, adb backup and adb restore are your friends.
Rooted you can clone the device at least with adb commands. Slower but it's an exact copy at least.

I bricked my OP7 after what seemed like successfully installing and using Android 11. I am getting the Teamwin blinking brick.
This(
) seems like something I can do- flashing Fastboot ROM(even though I'll lose data, but wth). Can you please tell me if this comment of yours applies in my case- i.e. is the link you are suggesting for Android 11 Fastboot ROM valid?

As a rain check, as I am new to this, and don't want to screw up more,
You mean I can use this method-
Restore OnePlus 7/7T/7T Pro to Stock via Fastboot Commands - DroidWin
to flash the latest stable build on OnePlus support, i.e. this-
https://otafsg1.h2os.com/patch/amaz....P.35_OTA_0350_all_2103221240_3e944b9d067.zip(OnePlus7Oxygen_14.P.32_OTA_032_all_2101280019_b2a62765ba0c485e.zip)
??
Or do you suggest to use the Android 11 firmware available on XDA?

You can do it with the fastboot zip but you need to download all the firmware, in some threads you will find the stock/rooted boot.img from stable and OB, I shared both in this message

If you ended with a blinking TWRP just flash the stock/rooted boot.img if you are using stable you can obtain it here(Post in thread 'Android 11 Release - Finally!' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/android-11-release-finally.4251267/post-84717089)
Or if you are on a Open Beta here: Thread 'OxygenOS Android 11 Betas (OnePlus 7 Pro) released (Open Beta 4 now available)' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...o-released-open-beta-4-now-available.4221067/

I am pretty sure I know my OS, but is there a way to find out?
I was running the stable, but flashing stock boot just led me to a boot loop with the Original Recovery, it's giving me options to
1. Wipe data and cache
2. Reboot to fastboot
3. Reboot to recovery
The fastboot flash commands above to flash stock OS didn't work, due to one error or another.
Anyhow, I had read somewhere fastboot continue works(here: it wasn't working before for me), so I tried that again, and now I am just stuck on 1+ Fastboot screen. I will wait it out to see if it boots into system.
Otherwise, I am thinking I reload fastboot and flash stock boot just like I did- and from there wipe data, but what do I expect then??
The way I see it, I am just stuck in some serious boot issue, and might eventually have to go down the path of msndownloadtool, any suggestion?

Flashing the stock boot.img should be enough to boot into system without problems because TWRP can't decrypt data in android 11.
In this point you can try a factory reset from stock recovery this will keep device files but will erase all your config and apps
To figure out what version of firmware you had you can run this command in fastboot
Fastboot getvar all

Flashing didn't work to boot into system, I was just getting stuck in the Recovery boot loop, it finally booted into system once I wiped my data(files, music, etc -option);
I did try factory reset, only once I cleared the partition, did the boot loop give way to boot into system;
It booted back to Android 11, but it's all glitchy: Boot taking too long, WiFi not switching on, Call not working, Data is working though- basically it's very screwed up, got a couple of errors too- it's like watching an amnesiac old person.. if you get the gist.
So, now I am considering a stable build from Oneplus support website as a local upgrade and booting back to that..
I am hard pressed for options, let me know if you think something else works better, thanks!

I guess msmtool it's the best way to restore your phone, remember that msmtool will re-lock your bootloader so if you want root you need to unlock your bootloader again.
Use msmtool and instructions form Here(there's an android 9 and android 10 for Global and Europe versions, use android 10)

This is the OnePlus 7 pro forum so, I assume you was a 7 pro user, now all makes sense you don't flash the correct boot.img for your device so all woes wrong.
You need to use msmtool from Here

Hey, I am on Mac, I see that Msm is windows-specific.. any way out?
Update: I have been roaming around the corridors of this forum since about a week now. Thanks @RokCruz !!
Finally, used msm tool, although I suspect I still had the option of flashing TWRP and Magisk as I had access to phone and fastboot, but the system was super glitchy.
