Hello Oppo users,
I have a oppo reno ace gundum edition.
Just got it before 2 days and cannot enroll in color os 7 beta as quotas is full.
But my question is, has anyone received the march security patch update?
Not yet I'm still on February
I'm currently a beta tester for ColorOS version 7 and have the latest rolling security patch (March 5 2020).
ColorOS 6+, still on February's patch when I was on it before the upgrade.
ColorOS 7 is a bit buggy, occasionally freezing when browsing websites on Chrome but overall good experience.

I noticed all other Mate 9 variants are receiving regular security patch updates but MHA-L09C432 is still stuck on January 2018 Security Patch on EMUI 8.0.
UPDATE: HiCare confirmed end of support for all Mate 9 devices by April 2018 with final update to disable project treble support as the Kirin 960 will not be compatible to support new android versions.
Source? Where in hicare?

Can you give us more information? I can not find anything about it

LOL, here in the states, "officially" we are still on 360. I was on the beta 321, and got 360 in early January, but many
didn't get it until March.
I find this hard to believe, especially the 'Kirin 960 will not be compatible' bit. They are using the 960 in several of the tablets they just announced at MWC last month. I could see them saying that some of the hardware in the phone might not be compatible without updates, but saying a chipset is not compatible is like Intell saying the celeron will not be compatible with any further windows updates.
And huawei has been just as bad as most other devices at security updates, so that is no surprise that you are still on the january security patch. Heck, before Oreo, most of us were stuck on april of 2017 security patches

I can't provide more information as this was a discussion with HiCare support.
Also the mate 9 is still on sale...
Got this today...
I wonder if development has indeed stopped for the Mate 9. I can't see anything new in FF for C432 after 366 which was dated 12 March 2018 (another firmware with the same version is dated 27 March 2018)
If you look at the track record of releases, there isn't a single month without one or more new firmware out for the C432 region.
I hope someone here can weigh in on this
USA variant, April security patches in any case, don't really care about the updates, all phone manufacturers suck at this, if more come, cool, if not, also cool, there isn't any consumer protection out there, so oh well
There is a post in Mate 10 problem with widgets not updating on Emui 8 (same problem we have) where guy talked with Huawei support about problem and he got answer that fix for that is coming in next update scheduled at May 16 to May 22 for Denmark (and EU region probably) - https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/help/widgets-stop-updating-t3703572/page26
Update is for Mate 9 pro but I hope we are in their plans too

I think you 'd better hide the IMEI of your device in the screenshot for security purpose.
Why is mine still stuck on MHA-L09C432B198?
EMUI 5.0.1
Android 7.0
November 2017 security update.
It was bought SIM free and is factory unlocked.
Updates are set to automatic.

For reasons only known to Huawei some IMEI never end up getting approved. I was in the same situation. SIM free, factory unlocked C432 variant.
A couple of weeks ago I gave up waiting and used Firmware Finder. Worked like a charm, now running 8.0.0.366. I suggest you try it.
I'm just concerned about how safe it is to download firmware from basically unknown sites through an app that seems to be getting some pretty poor reviews (and some good ones, admittedly).
EDIT
I've now found the original FF thread on xda and withdraw that comment. Lots of reading to do to be sure I understand how to do it, as some users seem to have bricked their Mate 9s

Yes do read the whole thread and watch a couple of youtube tutorials before using FF. Then make sure you select the correct firmware for your region and always FullOTA.

Yes, I agree all manufacturers are guilty of that. But if the rumors are true, it would be 6 months before the expected end of support for the Mate 9 which was launched in November 2016. More importantly, we've got Project Treble and still see a lag in security updates, although by just 1 month usually.
On a positive note, firmware finder is now showing a C185 B363 dated 6th of May with May 2018 security updates!
On the downside, there's still no sign of new firmware for C432, the last one being 366 dated 12th of March
---------- Post added at 08:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:14 AM ----------
Here's a quote from XDA's article just published hours ago (from Google IO):
“We’ve also worked on building security patching into our OEM agreements."
Just baffling and very revealing on how much has this aspect of security patching been ignored so far!
OK, I spoke too soon. Firmware finder now lists B368 for C432, dated 8th of May.
This update also brings May 2018 security patches, and adds face unlock as well as AppGallery.
Hallelujah (for security patches and continued support)!
Update (no pun intended):
There's a B374 for C185 and a B369 for C567, both only listing May 2018 security patches under what's new.

I checked it out on another site and it said it was released on April 4th. Which more or less would've tied in with me getting the notification. But no bother. I've got it and I ain't complaining.

I posted here that I'd got it on the 2nd and I suspect it was released on the 1st.
How are you finding it?

Don't notice much difference tbh. I did notice in the settings menu the option to change the default installation location it may have been in there all along but I hadn't seen it before. I'd been having problems trying to open documents from remote locations with es file explorer when the sd card was the default location but since I changed it to internal memory everything works as it should.
Anyone got it on c440? Which is the Lte model, still on nov patches and no updates whatsoever
Got mine. March 2019 security patch included
Still no sign as yet for my ex EE WiFi and LTE CMR-AL09, unrooted, plain vanilla. I've been spoiled by my Essential PH-1 phone that gets just about the fastest Android updates out there.
I`m on 10.8 model, got it about 4 days ago.
I got m5 lte 10.8 and I still on emui 8.0 with Feb patch. It's normal?
Just brought 8.4 M5 WiFi and happily updated through 8.0 to 9.0.1 pie with march security straight away.
Just had April security patch update on my UK MediaPad M5
https://cdn1.imggmi.com/uploads/2019/5/1/51f18bf8334d83035f1269934323c0e9-full.jpg
Got my 8.4 mediapad today (wifi only) and it just upadated via OTA to Android 9 (EMUI 9.0.1). Security patch March first.
Compilation number 9.0.1.160
No sign update for LTE users
Just wonder any one had update or heard official news on LTE variant getting EMUI 9.0 my pad is on EE and check daily and still no updates , I know network level devices have to be signed off network related software wise ..... But it's been long enough
Just got 9.0.1.182 with April security patch on my 8.4.

Question in the title- as the 4a launches with android 10 out the box but so close to the android 11 release ( in fact in most countries it's only available on the 1st of October, when android 11 will have been released and so it should ship with it), do you think it will get android 14? If it stops at android 13, for most pixel 4a owners that will only be 2 OS updates and even then it isn't really 3 years android updates for those who got it on 10. Also with the 4a 5g launching with 11 and so will 100% get 14, surely the 4a should too?

I guess the two trains of thought would be 3 years from release date vs. 3 years from release year. 3 years from release year would be best, from anyone's standpoint. My Pixel XL got one more final OS update to Android 10 at the end of 2019, which was both unexpected and very nice. :good:
If it comes out within 3 years, yes..
I was trying to register my pixel 7 pro for the android beta program but it's not listed as one of the eligible devices. Any advice?
I tried the same thing earlier today. I'm assuming we just need to wait?
I tried the same thing. I have so many tiny software complaints that I'd like to see changed. I'll be checking weekly for eligibility
Probably won't happen until the next beta is released, unfortunately.
Beta program for 7 pro , will start around February, with the first DP A14

Where did you hear this?
I believe that's the standard practice where new devices join with the following beta? So there's a precedent set.

Where did you hear this? Last I read, the A13 QPR beta program ends in March 2023. Are they skipping the QPR beta program for the Pixel 7 series?

I doubt it. I think it'll get on beta next beta release.
