Tip for root + alternative Rom - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) Questions & Answers

Hi everybody,
I know there's already a lot of discussion about this, but I've just restarted a J330FN in Android 9 PI and I'm a little lost in the flood of information about root.
I love resurrection remix but maybe you have other rom to recommend, I like simplicity and when it's clean and fast.
But I have the impression that it has become much more complicated than with for example a ZE551 or a Galaxy Note 4 a few years ago.
Where do you advise me to start?
What do you advise me to save in the system and how?
If a french guy is passing by and has a little moment to tune me in visio or other. Otherwise I take of course all the advice in English.
I'm on a Chromebook, or Ubuntu or Windows.
Thank you in advance

[Q] New to Rooting

I will be the first to tell you I am not tech savvy at all! I have been doing some research with regards to this and have used many resources avail, including this site.
I have read most of the answers to my questions but still require assistance. I have the HTC Desire with with my local internet provider Cox Communications and I have a 10.2 inch tab through wowpad that is powered by Android supertab. It is operating on 2.1. My HTC is 2.2. I am very new to the smart phone world and tablet world.
Is there a way to just simply upgrade my tab to a new OS? Do most of you feel that rooting my phone is the way to go, because I never ever have storage that I need. I know it comes down to a personal choice. Or, will my phone eventually upgrade to a new OS?
I really want to do my tablet but honestly I literally need step by step directions in doing so. If I mess this up on my own, my wife and daughter will kill me. Thanks in advance to all of you. This is truly the best site in the world!
How would rooting your phone solve your storage issue?
More Storage
From what I understand, I will have superuser rights and that would allow me to delete some of the stock programs to free up space. Is that right?
Help
Is there anyone out there willing to help with this issue? It would be greatly appreciated.
This Sucks
Ummmm Wow! I thought I would get some help with this, but I guess not. I guess I'll try another site.
Take it easy, look up your device in the forums and look for how to root.
It's not that hard to do and most devices have a manual how to.
Take a look at this:

Thank you
Thank you krt. That is exactly what I needed. Thanks again.

[Q] i've searched and searched

hi folks, i used to come to this forum all the time back in the day when i had my original G1 and then my HD2 and other phones (i dropped off the face of the planet and also forgot my password to my old account, the captcha system is horrendous BTW)
my question is is there any root options and custom rom options for the motorola DROID PRO (verizon)/XPRT (sprint?) -- YES, i've searched and any information i've found is pretty old and seems outdated. i rather not risk bricking my phone with something that no long works. so if someone could pretty please point me in the right direction i would appreciate it so much.
other questions: if rooting is possible on my droidpro -- what custom roms can i use on it?
thank you so much for any help you send my way.

Cubot C9+ OS Options

Hi there, firstly I hope I'm posting in the correct place but if I'm not please accept my sincerest preemptive apologies and feel free too relocate me to the appropriate thread.
Here's my saga, I recently got a Cubot C9+, it's a genuinely good phone which I'm quite happy with however it's not without problems. It came with Android 4.2.2 installed, after getting it I ran the manufacturers update however a lot of my SMS messages are not getting to me, I have tried everything including new sim, alternative SMS apps etc and still no joy at all. On top of that it is a little laggy, I'm wondering if theres any alternative Operating Systems I can use on it? I found some fantastic roms for my old Xperia X8 and X10 mini pro but there doesn't seem to be much for this phone, I wouldnt mind downgrading to an older operating system either. I would prefer not to have to mess about with the firmware if possible as I managed to brick a phone or two in my past and just dont have money for another one right now.
Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated and again sorry if I have posted in the wrong place.
Many thanks
-Larry

Need suggestions

Hi everyone I'm brand new to android rooting and everything. I want to start learning how to root, upload custom os's, custom roms etc. I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 which from what I read seems to not work with rooting. I'm going to buy a new android phone and was wondering if you guys had any good suggestions? I'm looking for a phone less than $120 and is fully capable of doing everything (modification wise). I would like to know wher eI could go to find good tutorials or lessons on learning about everything from custom roms to writing custom root apps for personal use. I'm a computer science major currently learning java if that helps with anything.

Android is installed in a lot of devices so there is not a universal guide for rooting and modding, and not all of the devices are supported by the modding community. To have a modding friendly phone you need to increase your budget. The most modding friendly phone is the huawei nexus 6p(all of the other nexus are modding friendly).

[Useless] Best smart phone for porting MaruOS? (And how to start)

Hi,
I am due to purchase new smartphone and interested in Maru OS. Most probably I am looking at devices from Xiaomi, Innjoo or Oppo (due to spec-to-cost ratio) depending how much friendly it is for porting Maru OS.
1) Can anyone advise which will be the best device for this purpose? I understand major problem will come due to non-availability / locked bootlooders, drivers and working kernel.
2) Also, I am not experienced in mobile development and not a pro/full-time programmer (but can learn as I have been using Gentoo and Arch Linux, plus studied programming during school days), if anyone experienced can help me in getting started, it will be a good start for me.
Thank you.
EDIT:
Marked 'Useless' ... thanks to everyone for not responding.

If no one is interested in responding to OP, can anyone point me to how to extract device drivers from stock ROM for use with custom ROM I intend to compile? [I mean use working ROM as a base then customize it for Maru OS adoption].
