So Xiaomi devs dont know anything about same phone but different specs.
Probably Xiaomi send them one phone to work on it for Android 10 update and they started working on these specs.
LCD:
oncell,vendor:bird,IC:lol898
TP:
[Vendor](TP) + EBBG(LCD), [TP-IC]GT917D,[FW]Ver501c,[CFG]Ver0x55
Back Camera Sensor:
Sony IMX486
Update worked on that cheap specs. It worked but update caused black spots on the bottom of the Screen.
Source
On the other side:
Mi A2 Lite has 2 different hardware versions. Xiaomi forgot their cheaper then the cheaper policy.
LCD:
oncell,vendor:csot,IC:hx8399c
TP:
[Vendor]Ofilm(TP) + CSOT(LCD), [TP-IC]FT5446,[FW]Ver12
Back Camera Sensor:
OmniVision 12a10
People who has cheaper then the cheaper specs on their Mi A2 Lite, they get Black Screen Of Death. Because Kernel dont know what to do with that hardware. Xiaomi forgot to implement some drivers.
Source
Now Xiaomi pulled the Android 10 update. They said its partially released but who knows.
This is new:
" Xiaomi is aware of the Android 10 update issues in Mi A2 Lite and the launch to users of that device has now been suspended . Our teams are now working to solve the problem and our goal is to implement an update via OTA throughout March. Affected users are recommended to take their devices to authorized Xiaomi service centers for post-sale assistance."
Source
So theyre gonna release new version of the Android 10 in March 2020.
Another thing related with this:
60 fps Video Recorder doesnt work on OmniVision 12a10 Camera Sensor it works only on Sony IMX486 sensor.
First release of Android 10:
V11.0.2.0.QDLMIXM (Bricks the phones)

So the Devs got the better one with Sony camera, right? Not necessarily more expensive to buy, but to manufacture.
As far as I know the specs were random and the price didn't differ, so the only "cheaper" version was the 3/32 one, which had a lower price tag.
The post is a bit unclear as you stated that both the cheaper and the cheaper version did and didn't work at the same time.

Its just a theory.
I dont believe specs were random thing. It cant be. More profit cant be made randomly.
If it uses OmniVision Back Camera sensor instead of Sony, yes i can tag that OV sensor as a cheap and i believe there is a some kind of philosophy behind that choice which is more profit. I cant compare easly other hw like that. But when i look with that philosophy its not that hard to tag them as a cheap.

My install was via OTA was straightforward and my phone works. The only issue is that i can't write on the SD card via an explorer app. The camera stores pictures on the external storage but i can't even access it through Total commander or any other.
LCD: oncell, vendor: bird, IC:lol898
[Vendor]Biel(TP) + EBBG(LCD), [TP-IC]GT917D, [FW]Ver501C,[CFG]Ver0x55
Back camera: ofilm_imx486_i
I have the same black bleeding at the bottom as in the picture.

Panasonic ???
iPhone | ??? | GSII
Specs are actually unknown but they wanna make high end devices. All we know is that it will be dust/water resistant. Perfect for me. If I get any opportunity to change my OB, it will be a "PanaPhone".
CES 2012 will be great
It looks so much so like my old HTC diamond
Panasonic announced plans to launch its first global smartphone in Europe next year in March. Company has not sold mobile phones in Europe since January 2006.
In the announcement company has not declared its name but did say that this slim bezel phone features an ultra-slim D-shaped design for easy portability with a 4.3-inch qHD OLED screen and would be waterproof and dustproof. Other specs are undisclosed...........

Good to see them getting back into the smart phone game. More competition means better quality phones for all.
I look forward to seeing what they release in March.
panasonic phone looks like the Prada phone
That actually looks pretty good
they arrive a little late, hoping this won't affect their ambitions. It will also be very good if launch prices are not too high. I'm very interrested of that.
the price and how commen the components are would sell me on them.

Have to wonder how waterproof/dustproof will relate to repairing devices.
Some companies have made it easier (apple) but every android phone I have opened has been a hassle! Maybe they will just glue them shut so nobody can open them
I should say Jp's industrial design is great
It is a interesting sharing........
Always been a fan of Panasonic, let's hope these continue their line of excellent products.
The last and only time I had a Panasonic phone was back in the days when phones had external antennas!!
if panasonic can somehow get their LX5 camera with phone capability running Android ICS, I would buy that phone in a heart beat.
I like their design but sadly they never have a single phone that's run on my carrier's frequency band.

New opponent on the way...

Maybe you heard about it...
Meizu is releasing mx5 pro mini soon...
This is what I believe will be the best Mi4c's opponent... Anyone here had or has any meizu to share the experience of having a meizu vs a xiaomi...
A while ago I've been tempted to buy the mx4 but for some reason I was afraid to go for it while for the Mi4c I didn't even think twice... I had to buy it no matter what... Maybe I'm a weird guy
Hmm it's just rumours though, I wonder what the final specs be. Won't beat Mi4C software-wise anyways because Meizu locks all of their roms and the bootloader :\.
Is that the 4.7" phone? 1080p screen but mediatek cpu
A friend of mine owned the MX4 Pro. He said the biggest downside was the Flyme OS. It used to have so many bugs.
But specswise it was a great phone. Even the fingerprint sensor used to be one of the fastest.
I have Meizu Note 2 and it's good. There's an option for it to be rooted so it's kind of easy and it's affordable, too.
Mediatek MT6797 Helio X20 look like an interesting SOC. The top performance is pretty much defined by the 2xCortex-A72 and Mali-T880 MP4 at Antutu score at 70,000.
I am more interested in the efficiency of the Tri-cluster. http://heliox20.com/ has some really nice graphical info

Tri-cluster:
Yes till now only rumours... But if these specs are real it'll be another nice machine... And the X20 looks powerful... But I also think I've seen somewhere and it will cost more than Mi4c... But definitely is nice to still have smaller but powerful devices because not everyone likes 5.5/6.0 phablets... To me, 5.0" is perfect size if fited in a compact body like Mi4c.
Anyway, so it means that there isnt much to do regarding costumization in meizu's? That's a NO GO for me... :/
Custom roms would be non existent like Samsung's exynos based phones
That phone will cost at least $400 and at least $500 to import. It isn't an opponent of the Mi4c, it is an opponent of the Mi Note Pro.

I dont think it'll cost that much... That's not price for a brand like meizu in that category... I've read that it's around 300 and if it's the case it will the 3gb version's opponent... Anyway, IMO it will be very hard to beat the Mi4c... This phone is just too good to be true... I wouldn't swap my mi4c for any phone available in the marke right know... And I mean no phone really...
I think it's not a direct opponent of 4c. It'll also cost more.

[NEWS REPORT]Nokia Will Unveil 5 New Phones At MWC 2017

Hey everybody. Just want to let you know that my Uncle William, actually works at Nokia in the UK at the moment, for helping Nokia release their 5 New phones. (Just like Sony..) He will probably be attending as one of the Nokia section host's at Barcelona, bit I'm not 100% sure on that, as He hasn't made a clear statment yet on that, and also that I live in NZ.[emoji14]Below are 2 phones that he knows about that are being released soon, and announced at MWC 2017. The other 3 will have specs between the first and second phone below.
A lot of leaks toward another Nokia phone, the Nokia 8, is also going to be one of, but since most of the specs are already leaked, I won't share that info.
Also note that all 5 of the phones that will be unveiled at MWC 2017 will have 4G LTE Connectivity.
The first phone will be called the "Nokia IP1." The Specs are as followed down below. (Note that * means may/may not.)
-6GB RAM
-4G LTE
-Android 7.1
-Selection up to 256GB of built-in storage
-QHD Screen*
-3400Mah Battery*
-Snapdragon 835*
-Water & Dust Resistance* (The name "IP" sort of hints it.)
My uncle basically told me these info above about how it will definitely have 4G, Android 7.1, 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but unsure about the rest. I can definitely say however that this will be certainly the new Nokia flagship phone of 2017, as the specs of the IP1 is miles ahead better than the already out Nokia 6. The price he told me will just be a little more than the Nokia 6. Having said that, he hasn't told me by how much "little" nore it will cost, but I would guess that it would cost under $350US, or even lower if were lucky.
He didn't send me any photos as he hasn't seen the phone for it self yet.
...Now the second phone is actually a fun one. The next phone is called the Nokia Retro, or alternatively called the new Nokia 3310. Now there aren't yet any official specs given on this phone apart from it's 4G Capability, price tag and RAM capacity, as he doesn't know much about the specs by himself, (He hasn't been given any info.) however, we may see this phone in the lower spec section than the IP1 as the price of the Retro/3310 will be ~168 Pounds. The specs are as followed..
-2GB RAM
-4G LTE
-Snapdragon 650/652*
-2800Mah Battery*
-Android 7.0 OR 7.1*
Having said that, he has also sent me a picture of what the phone will probably look like. Note that the picture he sent me, he had explained that the image is a mockup of what the actual phone will look like, which why I asked him why there was a picture of the Android Lollipop Homescreen in the phone. But personally looking at the design, I do like the nostalgic design of the phone! (Please don't start and say that I have photoshopped this. I'm not that good with photoshop. ) Hope you guys enjoy this news post. If you don't believe me, then I guess we can just wait and see what happens at MWC 2017 at Barcelona on the 26th February! Cheers.

[Discussion] Are 48MP rear camera plus 25 MP Selfie Camera the best KSP of View20?

One of my friends asked me how about Honor View20, what is the 48MP+25MP, Is it worth buying? What's your opinion?
Ofcourse if he can afford it. Its real 48 MP and front cam is amazing too
There's a video review from Ben's Gadget Review, and the photos look really impressive, especially low-light photos when using "pixel binning".

Used this phone during Honor 10 lite launch on 15th. Camera is amazing
Been using the phone for 2 days now, given the price, it is absolutely mind blowing. It is easily at the same level of phones several hundred pounds more expensive.
The camera quality is amazing, and the AI focus/item recognition is great. The only thing I don't like about this phone is the lack of a baked in dark mode, but there are plenty of themes that fix that problem with a few taps.
The processor the phone comes with is currently the fastest on the market until snapdragon release a new chip I believe, and it really shows. I haven't hard closed a single app since turning the phone on for the first time (just keep them in the background) and it's not impacted it at all.
Magic UI can take some getting used to, but the non-Chinese versions of the phone allow launcher changes with no hassle if you want to use something else.
The phone doesn't have built in contactless charging, but at the asking price, there has so be some sort of downside (if contactless charging is an advantage, it never works well for me)
So far there's absolutely nothing bad I can say about this phone other than I wish it supported standardised expandable memory, but I got the 256GB model, so it's not a big issue for me. There are rumours that the phone might support Huawei's proprietary SD card, but no confirmation.
It's got a beautiful design (I'm sticking with the clear case that comes in the box), it's amazingly fast, it has one of the best camera sensors available on the smartphone market and the battery life is fantastic (4,000 mA). If you aren't a brand loyalist and are looking for a phone upgrade, there's no reason to not buy this phone unless it's out of your price range (buy on contract!!)
It's balanced smartphone, it check lists every users needs & fulfilled the demands without spending too much money! It's a win-win for Manufacturers as well as for the Consumers. Honor View20 is one step ahead in Camera, Performance, Design.

Oppo Find X5 Pro Specs, Price, and Availability

Information is starting to come out about the upcoming OPPO Find X5 Pro. This flagship phone from OPPO is likely to be one of the biggest launches of the year. Shipping with ColorOS 12.1, this phone is going to come equipped with all of the latest features in the smartphone world. We are likely going to learn much more about this phone at the MWC 2022 event, but for now, we are already starting to see some information on specs and pricing.

The specs below are what we are currently expecting to see in this phone, but these are subject to change after the official launch.
Some leaks suggest that OPPO will be collaborating with Hasselblad on a camera with two Sony IMX766 sensors for the rear setup. This is going to be a fantastic phone for mobile photography, and the camera features included in ColorOS 12.1 should be able to take that experience to the next level. You will likely be able to configure your phone to have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which is on par with other flagships coming in 2022. Of course, everything will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is one of the most exciting chipsets we have seen in a while. Expect to see a 120Hz display, to be paired with all of the top-notch processing power. We will know more information after the official launch on the 24th of February
OPPO Find X5 Pro Launch Event [02/24/2022].
The next big mystery is the price of this phone. There will likely be three available configurations for RAM and storage, meaning three different price points. Some have speculated that this phone will cost upwards of $1,200, but nothing is confirmed yet.
When it comes to availability, there is no information yet on pre-orders or general release dates. So keep an eye on XDA's coverage of this device, as more information becomes available.
Update: The OPPO Find X5 Pro has been officially launched! We now have a complete list of the confirmed specs.
