My Note 2 (GT-N8013) has recently been going into the video screen saver when it locks. I'm not really sure what its called but whenever I lock the Note, a video plays showing the features of the Note 2 and such. This didn't used to happen, but since my little bro is the main user of this tablet he might have changed settings. How do I turn this off?
It looks like your brother installed one of the apps that samsung uses for marketing or turned on a feature he didn't really need. Look on the device and see if there is an app called screensaver or samsung screensaver. If it is there there should be a setting to turn that off. Also see if there is an app called demo mode, but I don't think that should be the issue. Others have reported this basic problem and had success by turning the screensaver feature off.
I assume this is a feature and not a bug (and not a problem with my Mate 8). When I open the Messaging App, Chrome App or some other apps it would appear the screen brightness is reduced within that app. This has nothing to do with the normal Auto Brightness settings but appears backed into the phone's software.
Has anyone else noticed this?
UPDATE: Setting the Power Plan to Performance changes this behaviour! Wonder what my absolutely Amazing battery life will be like now?
For me it's the converse. When I open Whatsapp after unlocking the phone, increases the brightness. I'm not using auto brightness and use only performance mode

I have same problem, in messanging app, dialer or browser display brightness is reduced noticeably. Tried with different themes, power plans and brightness settings.
i noticed it happening but i couldnt care less as long as everything is readable

I have this issue and after updating to Android 7.0 Nougat i can't find Power Plans anymore. How can i set it to performance?
Change to performance power plan. Smart plan does stupid things. Not that smart huh..
Anyone? This happens on my Mate 9 pro as well...
It did happen after updating to nougat , plus a strange YouTube issue when playing in 480p and less the video appears stripped , and these strips disappear after switching to 720p
After upgrading my Samsung Galaxy S7 from Android 7 to 8.0 Always On Display is very dark. It's annoying especialy outside during sunny days, the clock is invisible then. Before upgrading it was automaticaly adjusting to the light, in dark room the clock was dark, in the very in illuminated surroundings was very bright. Now auto-brightness doesn't work. Any solution for this problem?
If not is there any chance to roll back to Android 7? I didn't find even one advntage in Android 8 and the problem with AOD is very BIG disadvantage for me.

I had this same problem. I just turned on the automatic brightness.
BTW in my case oreo just prefected my experience with android more smooth interface, longest battery life so far etc.
I have automatic brightness turned on but it doesn't work in AOD mode.
I think the AOD pictures are too dark for sure. i was trying to show someone my siamese cat one i bought outside in the sun and i couldn't see anything. not even the time.
I don't use any picture in AOD mode. I was always using it as a watch to check the time. Now I can't, in sunny days, because the clock is invisible
Appears to be an issue with the Always on Display. Disabling that should resolve the issue.

Solution : enable developer options, and enable keep screen on while charging.
yup screen on = no Always on display..
though also battery and burn in aint good...
Screen will remain on, but brightness will drop to minimum level as the phone is left idle. When looking at the phone while driving, it looks almost off, the home screen is barely visible.
would be great if someone could build a tasker or Automate task that turned off AOD when AA is running.. though you prob need Root..
Anyone having a issue after C62 update of it just now not connecting at all?
jipp here.
android auto refuses the connection after the update.
My head unit is trying to connect while oppo is asking which usb type should be choosen (load/ android auto/mtp or so)
Selecting android auto results in a connection abort and a short vibration.
Already cleared app data, cache and even reinstalled android auto with no effort.
wow oppo really sucks..
just got CPH2025_11_C.53 - android auto is working flawless again

Hi guys,
I have a Find X2 Lite with CPH2005VF_11_C_78..
after the android 11 update android auto start to freeze switching apps (ex from maps to spotify a 15 seconds black sceen) or when navigating has to turn direction (the cursor start flickering and after a while the navigation resume).
Is this a similar problem to yours? any suggestion?
my oppo f1s always turn off even after restart, how to fix my boss?
Images on the lock screen, crash the Android Auto. It is an OS problem. Here is what to do, till the problem is solved :
-Go to Settings, Security, Smart Lock and and your car a trusted device. That way you have your phone unlocked while driving and fingerprint disappears.
(You can also remove fingerprint from lock screen by going to Settings, Passwords & Biometrics, Fingerprint, Screen-off unlock and select off, but then you have to wake up your phone before being able to use fingerprint)
-Go to Settings, ..Always-On Display, Always-On Display and disable it. (You can also select Always-On Display with battery saver, which turns off image after some seconds, but on those seconds, the Andriod Auto is crashed)
@[email protected]$#[email protected]& OnePlus, OPPO and Color OS...
Same thing at OnePlus 8T with OxygenOS 12 (which is ColorOS 12).
After update to 12 I still have some problems with AA. Now phone is totally unusable (totally laggy or black screen) when connected to AA and after when disconnected - must wait ca. 5 min or restart phone.
But... After reading this tread I turn off AOD. And stil same. Then I turn off also fingerprint reader at turned off display. And... Everything works perfectly
Will test AOD on, FP on and Smart Lock at my car. But OPPO is a joke...
Hello. I want to use some programs such as strobe light, metal and RF signal detector apps in background to alert with sound/vibration on my Huawei P20 PRO even when display is off but phone keeps killing apps after the locking screen. I tried already using several options shown in some guides but setting to „Manage manually“ and disabling power saving doesn‘t do anything. Is there something else I can try? I really need those apps running. Strangely a third party apps such as VLC player will continue playing sound but others wont.
Android OS is Q 10, EMUI version 10.0.0
