Root Android 10 - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Questions & Answers

I wanted to know if someone successfully rooted Global MIUI with android 10. I tried flashing via twrp and patching boot.img (Magisk 20.3), but both failed, giving me bootloop.
Edit: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/issues/2492#issuecomment-593149828 This solved the issue.

Was this on miui 11.0.3.0. (QEEMIXM) I've been trying the normal way but the bootloop is happening.

Something weird with Root.

Hello.
I have a Pixel with stock Android that was rooted with Chainfire SuperSU 2.78SR3
Last night I've noticed that the phone isn't rooted anymore and has installed the Feb security update OTA. (I only had the Nov update installed).
I've tried rerooting using the same method (Fastboot boot) and got stuck in a bootloop.
I had to flash a clean stock rom to get it out of the bootloop.
Next I installed TWRP. That worked.
Next I tried installing a ZIP version of SuperSU 2.78SR4. The Zip installs but when I boot into Android SuperSU says that the phone isn't rooted.
Anyone had anything similar happen to them?

You might need to flash back to stock to fix this. If you do let us know so we can help you save your data and apps.
You used the wrong SU. You need 2.79 SR3. Note the 9 on there, you used 2.78.

Copy it to your phone and boot to TWRP. Then INSTALL it from TWRP.

Ota and twrp

Hello guys, i have a question. What is the proper way of flashing miui updates from twrp. Atm i am on 10.2.2.0 but a new pie udpate has been released and i want to update to it. Also, do i need a certain recovery? I am on pitchblack atm.
I just don't want to brick my phone. Thanks in advance.
You can flash with no problem.
But after flash you lose twrp (it will be stock recovery). Need it reflash.
I successfully updated to pie, but a problem emerged. I can no longer flash magisk. Flashing magisk results in a bootloop and when i uninstall it from the recovery, the phone boots normally.
Any suggestions?
Did you flash that zip "lazyflasher"? For the dm verification thing.

Xiaomi Poco F1 touch not working after installing TWRP!

Hey guys i have an issue,
i was running Pixel Experience 10 but on MIUI 10, i couldn't update the last one so i thought to get back to stock rom, update to miui 11 and then get back to my Pixel rom. I DID A F*CKING MISTAKE. I installed the Miui 11 Update through TWRP without restoring the stock miui 10 rom. It worked but i had lost my Pixel rom ( i have a backup), ok then i installed TWRP at the MIUI 11 because recovery mode got me at Xiaomi Recovery for some reason. Inside the TWRP i flashed Disabled forc Encryption, but it didnt flash the Magisk, i reboot to system and after 100 bootloops i tried to go back to recovery mode, it boot at TWRP but since then, the TOUCHSCREEN DOESN'T WORK.. I used xiaomi mi flash tool to return to stock rom, it did, locked the bootloader etc...the touchscreen still doesn't work though... I can connect a mouse with OTG Type-C and i can do anything you tell me in order to fix it.. i have already update to MIUI 11, unlock the bootloader, installed TWRP and have Root. Has anyone any idea or a solution to try?
Thanks everyone in advance.

No OS Installed... Error 7... E1001...

Hi,
I have a Xiaomi Redmi 7 device. Originally, it used to have a Chinese Rom. A week after, I changed it a Global Rom. I got curious about Magisk, so I attempted to install it without having TWRP. I followed the tutorial that I've watched on how to do it. I was under the impression that I'm on the right track. After the installation, I reboot the device and that started the problem. I was stuck on Redmi Logo. I was told to flash a Rom using TWRP. So I installed TWRP and started flashing the Rom my device has. 1st attempt FAILED. 2nd / 3rd / 4th and until now, it's still the same, FAILED. No OS Installed... Error 7... E1001... Cannot flash any Rom's after. Tried the one where you need to edit the "Update-Script" using notepad++, still unsuccessful. Tried using other TWRP versions and flash other Rom's, no luck at all. Is there any other way to fix the issue? I badly need help. Thanks!

[OP7][OOS11] root not working with Magisk patched boot.img

Hey,
Yesterday i received the official global version of Ogygen OS 11 (OnePlus7Oxygen_14.E.35_OTA_0350_all_2103221233) for my Oneplus 7 which made me happy and i installed it on my current TWRP and root Ogygen OS 10. Afterwards my root and TWRP was gone. I read many threads now about that TWRP is not available currently for Android 11. So i was stuck with extracting the boot.img from the stock zip file and patching it with the latest canary Magisk (66e30a77 (22006)). The patch is successful.
After i flashed the boot.img to boot_a and boot_b via fastboot the phone restarted but there was still no root. (Magisk still showed that its not installed and superuser rights for Magisk also weren't granted->notification during start).
After trying and validating that i used the latest version of everything and also did a factory reset and tried the same handling again, i tried to use the latest beta Oxygen OS11 stock image for flashing the boot.img (same handling as before). After flashing i gained superuser rights and magisk was installed but no bluetooth and WIFI was working so there was an issue (is clear because it was not the same stock zip).
So does anyone of you might have already an solution for this?
Rgds,
Matthias

Hello,
Did you see this thread right below yours?
Android 11 OB4
Just installed OB4, anybody got a boot.img file or magisk patched boot image file? Also any news on TWRP for Android 11? Thanks in anticipation OK I was just lazy hoping somebody Elese did the work. Ended up using my OB2 patched boot image file...

Magisk canary can also cause a lot of issues. I'm using 22.0.
Hey thank you! I already saw this and tried it out before to get TWRP working as in the Oxygen OS 11 Beta but this TWRP version does not work with the official OOS11 for the Oneplus 7. It's strange that on Open Beta it works and now its not working.
Watching this thread because I'm stuck too. I either need locked bootloader or unlocked with Magisk
Does anyone already has a solution to this one?
I got the OTA today for 11.0.0.2, rooted fine with Magisk 22.1. Check out my guide:
