New to the forum. Got my first smart phone yesterday. A motorola droid mini. They put kitkat on it at the verison store. I have looked but have not been able to find a root solution. i do have a PIPO M9 tablet that I use a rileyrom on. Thanks Riley. I am also a long time Debian user but not a programmer. Does a root solution exist?
Not related to the rooting the mini but I don't seam to be able to transfer files to the phone via the usb cable. Debian Jessie (testing) mounts it as a camera device. I can look at the files and copy them off the phone but not to the phone. Any ideas. Bluetooth is borked in testing.
Thanks
Hi! There's no known root for moto droid mini, x, maxx... Etc ....while on 4.4.2 and bootloader locked. And Verizon won't let them be unlocked. So you're kind of stuck at the moment.
That said, ask the guys in this thread if what's being discussed will work on your model. I believe so, but ask to be sure. It may or may not work for you
...but there's no other options. For now.

I'll look into your other questions in a moment.

Yeah, I'm going to need more details on the file transfer issue. What exactly you are trying to do? What error do you get?

OK, searched around.... Debian questions are rare here. I found 2 threads that may help, or as fellow Linux users....maybe they can help if you ask there. Not specifically linked to your device....but i'm sure the issue really isn't device specific....more a Linux issue.

Good luck!! Hopefully you can get it figured out.

As far as getting an unlock code for bootloader......

Read the thread. Might work for you and happy days will follow!
Are there any useful CSC changes you gals/guys make to your phone once its rooted?
There was a thread around here somewhere that had "quick guide" in the title that contained a bunch of options for things to do and discussion about them. I can't find it for the life of me though!
Please post a link if you run across it

Found it. It is in the Edge section, but I would imagine much if not all applies...

I wont say its impossible but yes it is pretty difficult.
All you can actually do is to wait

Hi,
If you have an MSM8916 (Qualcomm Snapdragon processor) tablet (It has to be this, otherwise I will ignore your requests), post the name of the device, a link to the official Samsung stock ROM (you can try looking here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/deviceDesignationHere/), a link to the stock kernel ( search here http://opensource.samsung.com/recep...d=sub&sub=F&searchValue=deviceDesignationHere). Replace deviceDesignationHere with the device code (e.g T377P) and the build.prop as well (pull it from the system using adb pull /system/build.prop).
SM-T560NZKUXAR
Qualcomm APQ 8016 Quad-Core Processor
Took this info from WalMart's product info page for this product.
How about this one? It appears to be Qualcomm Snapdragon when I punched it into Google.

Also, unfortunately I was not able to pull up the device's model/rom even through filtering on Samsung's site and through the link you provided in your post.

It's right there in the OP.
Samsung always publishes the kernel, so I'll need a link to that and the build prop to get started at the very least on twrp.
I'll need either a twrp backup of the stock ROM or a link to it to build lineage os.
Here's a link to the firmware, now I finally have the device and got a better look at it through settings. Came with 6.0.1 MM
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/99679/T560NUUEU1BPI3_T560NUXAR1BPI3_XAR/
Let's hope this is the right one... I found my build.prop laying around in C:\Windows\SysWOW64
How do I post a link to the kernel?

Since I can't post a link to it here's what was pulled up on the page results
Model ; SM-T560NU
Version ; T560NUUEU1BPF5
Source Code ; SM-T560NU_NA_MM_Opensource.zip

These are all for the T560NU . You should run `adb shell cat /system/build.prop` and save that output in a file. If it still says your device is a T560NUU, then you can just go ahead and download TWRP andthe rom from the other thread.
Sure looks like TN560NUU to me.
Is 6.0.1 rootable? Is there un-root for this device if I want to un-root and flash and revert back to stock?
I put my output into a .txt this time.

My phone also have the Lollipop kernel - 3.10.72 and is an MT6591. I tried porting your earlier ROMs and everything works except the audio, Bluetooth (don't care ) and the GPU.
Any graphics is seem to be rendered by the CPU itself. And my stock rom doesn't have libaudio.primary.default.so file. I really need your help please.
