Notification LED not working - ASUS ZenFone 6 (2019) Questions & Answers

Hi, I recently bought this phone, made all updates then a factory reset.
While testing everything is working correctly, I noticed that the LED didn't work with notifications, instead with a LED testing app the LED lightened up, so I guess the hardware is fine.
I enabled the LED under the display settings.
Currently I'm on android 10 firmware with all latest updates.
Has anyone had the same problem? How did you solve it?

I am using my ZF6 for 8.5 months now and I've never had a problem with notification LED. I started with A9 WW_16.1210.1904.116, now I have A10 WW_17.1810.2002.133.
Just now is LED green blinking because I have got a new SMS message in Messages app.

Hi, I just found that the blue led is not working and the telegram app uses that color for new messages. Any other app that doesn't need the B led works fine. So the LED is working as intended, but not as needed.

It is a pity that you did not mention in what application you have a problem or with what color you have a problem. It's not that blue doesn't work but we don't have it at all

ZF6 have not RGB LED, but rather just RG and it can be combined to show Orange/yellow. Same design as Zenfone 5

Problems encountered after flashing to hero rom

Hi everyone,
Thanks to KarrdeNZ's well written guide, I managed to flash my rom to
********Hero ROM for Magic modded for TW users (based on Fatal1ty2787's releases)********
07/18 myhero-08 by redglasses
I just noticed that my phone's LED lights are missing. The LED doesnt light up while charging, and it doesnt light up when receiving SMS as well. I think the LEDs just disappeared completely.
Anyone encounters this and is there anyway to solve it?
Thanks!
Hero ROMS currently have the following issues
Bluetooth headset/mic support is broken, though Bluetooth headset playback works fine - no known solution.
TouchFLO sluggishness - don't use it or minimise widget use - especially clocks.
LEDs mapped incorrectly - no known solution.
Camera flipped/oriented wrong - need to reinstall old Camera package to fix

I got my sms led working, via chompsms.
Charging still doesn't work but tats not really.important I guess
Yeah you can use chompSMS or SMS popup to get the message notification LEDs working again.
Also the LED does work while charging, well sort of, it will turn green when it's 'charged' but won't glow orange like it used to whilst 'charging'.

[APP] Light Manager Compatibility

I am the developer of Light Manager. It is an app to configure notification LED color and its flashing frequency for different notification types. Quite a number of people reported that it is not working properly on Samsung Galaxy S 4, however at the same time there are people reported it is working perfectly. I am confused since currently I do not have a device to test.
So I created this thread to gather more comments about Light Manager on Samsung Galaxy S4. If things go serious, I would consider getting a S4 device for testing. I would like to make it compatible with S4.
For more information, you may go to the original thread at Samsung Galaxy S IIII section at:

Works ok for me (i9590, rooted stock) except for Aquamail notifications.
Using it for missed calls and SMS , works fine
Using it only for SMS, calls and battery states and works fine. Only sometimes when I plug the charger, "stock" LED indication appears instead of Light manager indication...Very randomly. Im on stock MDM firmware with kernel 3.4.0-526204 if it helps.
Alternative mode is working fine on my GS4 but it would nice to have a little break before swiching color between to different notifications.
example: green green green break break blue blue blue ecc...
Working fine for me too.
Another thing that isn't working (also on GS3) is the battery pergentage setting when the led should start to blink to aller that the battery level is low. Also if I set 5%, the led starts blinking on 15%.
Using it for missed calls and SMS; works fine. But doesn't work with whatsapp!!
Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 16Gb..

The best way is to turn off "stock" LED indicator for battery in your phone settings.

After you have granted root permission, remember to click "Restart light manager". For whatsapp, you need to turn off the notification LED in whatsapp settings as well. Let me know if it is not working.
It is working fine for me on the t-mobile variant of the GS4 in the united states. Wicked v2 with faux's kernel

THX for advice, I will monitor it...
For the most part, the app is working fine!
I don't know if this is normal, with these leds, but some colors are way off. Red, blue and green are fine, but yellow is greenish and white is blueish. So sometimes it's hard to distinguish which notification is showing...

I have also noticed this on my rooted att sgs4
sent from my black at&t sgs4
I will test it out shortly, I have been using it on my S3 all the time but after upgrading to CM10.1 it didn't work too well, it clashed with the system led settings...
Just found this app because of your thread. Tested it and it works with whatsapp, sms, calls !
I'm reallyhappy right now because I was used to LightFlow but that app has to be enabled in de accessability settings and ruins the gallery.
Yours Sir is just perfect!
Thank you! :good:

I guess this is some LED hardware variation for different devices. You may adjust the hex color code in Advanced Setting to suit your S4 device. Could someone help to post a set of accurate hex color code for S4? Then I might be able to add a one-click button to preset all hex color code for S4.

I thought Samsung has fixed the accessibility issue on S4? The talkback issue is still there? This is the main reason I am not using accessibility in Light Manager but might include it when Samsung fixed the issue.
I have the 9500 not rooted /stock do I need root to get this application to work for whatsapp?

[Q] LED Notification bug?

Hello,
I've been using Nexus 5 since 2 weeks and I got an issue with the led.
Sometimes (actually 3 times) while the nexus is charging and I recieve a whatsapp, the led blinks forever and only solves if I reboot..
I don't know if this happens only with whatsapp and neither tried to use Light Flow instead native LED app.
Somebody got anything like this?
Thanks
The LED is inconsistent for sure. I'm using Light Manager and it seems to help, but it's still not perfect. Often I find there are just no notifications for various apps. A reboot seems to solve the issues. I've never had the issue with the light not stopping though, but I don't use WhatsApp.

if you are stock, i'd imagine there may still be a few apps out there that are not currently optimized for kitkat yet. check into that. cheers

[Q] LED Light Acting Strange

Normally I have been running the latest ViperROM. I noticed that my LED does not light up when using the Snapchat app. I have enabled the LED in the settings, and the LED seems to work fine on other apps. I tried switching over to a GPE ROM, and the LED works on Snapchat, but instead of the default green, the LED is yellow for Snapchat notifications. I noticed that while using Cyanogenmod nightlies my LED was working fine for Snapchat as well, so it has led me to believe there is something particular in the ViperROM that is not allowing my LED to light up. So my two questions are:
1. Why is my LED only working on the GPE and AOSP-based ROMs and not the Sense-based ROMs?
2. How do I enable it on a Sense-based ROM and how do I make the default color yellow (I kind of like the yellow for Snapchat LED)
Thanks for any and all information.

This has happened to me many times. Had to factory reset using stock recovery to get it back to normal. Happens after roms/apps that can modify led behavior were loaded.

Try this: LED notifier on
From the Google Play store. Wont let me post a link since Im new.
My LED wasn't working, works instantly after using this. No need to factory reset. No need to do HTC LED system diagnostics...just works
Stock Recovery
Do I have to reflash stock recovery? Or can I just select the factory reset option in settings?

LED notifier on worked for me.
Thanks a bunch.

Light Manager&Telegram LED not working on Nougat

Neither of those apps works properly. Light Manager seems to have no effect at all on notifications, and Telegram settings simply don't work. Led is working, but it does the hell he wants.
I really don't know how to control this led, I can't find something useful in settings...
Sry for my english
I'm using Light Flow to control the led, and it works quite flawlessly.

Me too
I've tried Light Flow, not working.
Are you on Nougat? Because I think this is a software problem of Honor 8, not Light Manager or Telegram's fault. (I've used it on another smartphone with Android Nougat and it has always worked flawlessy...)
Yes, I use Light Flow on Nougat without any problems.

Used Light Flow in MM and now in N without problems.
I really don't know what to say, neither Light Manager or Light Flow are working for me (yet), and I've led notification only for groups on Telegram. I'm confused
Telegram updated several times, but the issue is still here; I really don't know what to do...
I use light manager in emuli 5.0 and it works
I used both Light Manager and Light Flow but did not work (MM B131).
I'm still fighting with this Telegram thing. I really cannot understand why led is working for groups, but not for single chats, I don't know even what to do right now... don't know if it's Telegram's fault or it's a phone problem.

I use Telegram and I have no problems with LED notifications.

I already know that for a lot of people led notification is working, but for me it doesn't. I'm not crazy, this thing is not working, period.
However, this morning I found out that Light Manager has been recently updated, I tried it again and this time everything is working perfectly; so I've finally found a workaround for my problem, for now.
That's good
