Under my order status for Z Flip it says 'Redeemed' under phone trade in status.
Under order status for S20 Ultra it says 'Initiated'. Neither phone has shipped yet and I haven't sent in the trade ins yet. What does 'Redeemed' mean?

Wanting to order a unlocked Samsung s7 edge for AT&T. Don't want to get stuck with a locked down phone like the AT&T Samsung s5 I have. Been reading about the sim card locking to the network. And about getting a code to unlock the phone. Like to have the option to root/mod my s7 in the future. Am I just better off to wait it out?
First off what do you mean by locked? AT&T will unlock a fully paid phone from it's network upon request to be used on any other GSM carrier. If you want an unlocked phone with unlocked bootloader your best bet is to buy a T-Mobile variant as it has Snapdragon 820 and open bootloader. The Global unlocked version of the device is unlocked but is also Exynoss 8890 so less likely to get ROMs or root.

Not every international s7 phone comes fully unlocked. Some are locked to certain regions of the world or country. Make sure to ask from a seller in email if it will work on your country before ordering. Some will have to open the box to make a call or something as part of some unlocking process. At least that was the case when I got my s6

Except for the "Global" version which is g390/5F. The phone are not region locked this time but you should check the bands to make sure it's compatible with your carrier.
Thanks for the repls . I live in the Eastern US. By Unlocked, I really just want to be able to root my s7. I don't see me leaving AT&T any time soon. I had an International unlocked Samsung s4, never had any trouble with rooting and installing CROMS. Bought the Samsung s5 striaght from At&T and never could get it rooted. For me, being able to root and play with the CROMS is a big deal.
I ordered from a different seller, it's supposed to be "att tmobile unlocked" but then in the description it says "LG G5 LS992 RS998 VS987 (Latest Model) - 32GB - Gold Titan 4G LTE (GSM Unlocked) " none of those models seem to be ATT or Tmobile so idk what's going on there. I'm guessing it's using the software unlock nonsense that appears to be an issue. Am I going to be able to unlock this thing and put on custom roms? is it even going to work on Tmobile? http://www.ebay.com/itm/182588725106 This is the listing I ordered from.
Why not return it and just use Swappa

Hindsight. I suppose I can return it once it arrives, though I'm sure I'll be in it for shipping then as well.
I got the unlocked version straight from Samsung. Took the SIM out of my S10+ and popped it into the new phone, after which it restarted and activated.. Everything seems to be working fine but when I go into My Devices on Verizon, it shows no info about the phone, whereas before it recognized my phone as Samsung S10+. I think this is also preventing FindMyMobile from working.
Anyone with any ideas how to fix?

I haven't tried the Find My mobile part yet, but I see what you mean. I just have a blank where my device should be, but it does show my correct IMEI number.

Well yeah, I imagine if IMEI info was wrong the phone wouldn't even work.
I think this is my 4th or 5th unlocked Sammy in a row and I've simply transferred the SIM every time. It's always shown model number and my S10+ worked with FindMyMobile with no issues. No luck so far with the Note 20 Ultra.

Interesting. My unlocked S10+, using my old SIM card, just showed in the Verizon app or website with my phone number no specific identifier as to what the phone was. Same thing with the Note20 Ultra using that same SIM. However when I called tech support at Verizon to ask what the story was about 5G on the unlocked 5G phones she knew I had a Note 20 Ultra before I mentioned it. So I guess they know it through the IMEI. The only issue I've had is that Verizon call filter will not install on the unlocked Samsung phones. At least that was what I was told when I couldn't install it. My son has the Verizon version S10+ and call filter installed fine on that.

Yep, that's correct. Same thing happens with iPhones. If the phone wasn't sold as a Verizon device (that is, sold by Verizon or from Samsung with Verizon fw), it will show up with a generic, gray icon. The IMEIs of Verizon branded phones are automatically in their whitelist database which enables the icon.
Thats weird, my unlocked note 10 plus has worked fine since day 1 and my unlocked z fold 2. Tried an unlocked note 20 ultra for a few days with no issues awhile back. Another note 20 ultra on the way so we will know soon.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra unlock from att to open network. I bought a note 20 Ultra on Facebook and everything comes back clear Blacklist clear still under warranty but insert another SIM card and of course says please enter the network unlock code I fear I cannot receive code from AT&T due to when I put in for the unlock request on their website it says it's still under the profile of someone else but I don't know who that someone else is next to AT&T's no help what can I do?

If you can't get the original owner to remove the device from their account, then just go on ebay and get a code - search in "specialty services" category.. it'll run ya max $30, but its your only option besides trying to get your money back from marketplace.
Not long ago I bought this model of the S22 ultra and I wanted to know if it is possible that it can be rooted
No it cannot be rooted. The bootloader needs to be unlocked, and that is not possible to do either.
i dont understand on how come samsung always do this with new S series until next model comes out and a dev comes in understands that all the lights are shyning on the phone so it should be way esier to get around the OEM toogle missing from developers tab....i would be happy runninh simple but effects very strong to just be able to control whats running and wahts not,use shizuku for highger APis previleges, ice box is great to frezze in case you cant remove via ADB ,Nevo great as well,greniffy,etc....but come one someone find the solution to root the american vertion variant and ill pay whoever can do this favor,on any network in the US im on t-mobile....but willing to witch if is t-mobile the problem ill switch, its unlocked

Why not switch to a pixel then? The issue isn't you or your phone the issue is Samsung deciding that what you paid for the phone wasn't enough to allow you to do what you want to a device you supposedly own.. The response you received here is disappointing. I dont own this phone but I was thinking about it until finding this out.

So you can buy a Pixel in the US on any carrier with an unlockable bootloader?
I live in the UK and don't buy new phones very often and have a Samsung S4 mini, S7 and S9 which I still use.
The S4 mini came with an unlocked bootloader out of the box, so no toggle needed in dev options. The S7 and S9 have the toggle.
Regarding the S4 mini, I read a post from 2019 that stated Verizon and AT&T were the only US carriers that locked the bootloader, so I don't know what is going on

Qualcomm is the one to blame. You need an exynos version to unlock BL

Not true. The non-US Snap Dragon variants are rootable. Qualcomm had nothing to do with the bootloader being locked down. That was because North American (primarily US) carriers required it.
Samsung's US and Canadian Snapdragon phones do not allow unlocks regardless if the phone was bought from a carrier or not.

I honestly didn't realize that was even a thing. No surprise. We don't own our devices Any more. The 1000+ dollars you pay for a phone is just to use it. I've been using an iphone as my primary device since early 2018 which is how I didn't realize this bootloader f#ckery.
Putting on my tinfoil cap: do the US carriers collude with the government to put some type of backdoor in the stock OS that you just won't find in a custom roms source code?

Ummm... Go ahead and take off that tinfoil hat and read the 4th, 5th, and 14th Amendments. You should also cut back on the Dan Brown books.
