OnePlus clock problems oos 10.x.x - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

So I have multiple issues with the clock
- timers do not pop up when finished, nor does the notifiy take me to the app.
I set a timer (either manually or via hey google) and leave the app, and lock the screen. When the timer finishes, the screen lights up, but doesn't take me to the timer screen so I can stop it, I have to unlock my phone, navigate to the clock app, go to the timer tab (sometimes) and stop it manually
- alarms don't play after the first alarm, the first alarm works normaly any subsequent alarm doesn't even wake the screen and then a persistent "upcoming alarm" notification sows up, and when tapped it takes me to the alarms tab on the clock app and a toast notification appears and says "your missed alarm was deleted." The alarm is not in the app, yet the notification is still there, and I am still late.
I reinstalled 9.5.x and the alarm and timer both behave as expected.
After an update, back to broken.

Could it be that you have installed several clocks?

Nope just the one clock

[Q] ICS ROM Alarm Bug

Here is an issue I have noticed that is not unique to this ICS ROM.
I frequently (every night) use voice actions to set my alarm. It's amazingly convenient. I have noticed that the voice action completes, you click set to confirm the correct time and the dialog pops up that says "alarm set for x hours x min". But the alarm does not always 'stick', you will notice the alarm clock will not appear in the notification area. Under clock > alarms it will show the correct alarm created and the box checked but the system does not really have the alarm set ( it wont actually go off). If you uncheck and then recheck the alarm will 'stick'. This doesn't happen every time but often enough to force me to check before I go to sleep. Any ideas what may be causing this?

Default clock app deskclock soemtimes does not start alarm

Hello,
I am having weird issue. I am using default CM12.1S rom with all updates + xposed with few minor modules.
Default clock alarm sometimes does not work, if it is set after few minutes from putting phone it works every-time, but if I use it to wake up in the morning sometimes it does not launch it all ~2 from 7 times.
I can see in status bar that clock is set and time is shown correctly, but sometimes it just does not go off.
And I am not missing it because I can not hear it, alarm goes off just fine on tablet (backup plan to not miss work), then clock should launch it after minute in the phone, but it does not do that.
This started one week ago.

Alarm clock screen wakeup?

On my old Nexus phone, when the google alarm clock would go off the screen would automatically light up to dismiss or snooze the alarm. On my F8331 on 7.0, the default sony alarm clock seems to require one of two things: either unlock the phone then find the alarm notification, then dismiss or snooze; or press a side button. I'm new to Xperia devices so forgive my ignorance but am I missing something to allow the alarm to wake the screen for dismissal? Trying to stick with the stock sony clock here too...
It's lighting/waking up the screen correctly on my 7.0 XZ?
Perhaps stamina mode is causing that effect if you happen to have it turned on.
Definitely not normal behaviour. Did you try clearing data/cache for the Alarm or Clock app?
Figured it out. It's bc of do not disturb+block visual disturbances+block when screen is off in the settings, sounds. Google clock ignores this (wakes the screen at alarm) however Sony clock does not. Just have to set the off time for do not disturb before the alarm goes off :good:
Thanks Racejal, it works now

Xperia Z3 Compact: Marshmallow: Missing Alarm Notification

The built in alarm clock in Marshmallow is working fine for me. However one function has been disappeared.
I often snooze the alarm, and then want to dismiss it before the end of the snooze period.
Example: Get alarm or snooze display at 10 o'clock. Choose snooze, so alarm will go off again at 10:10. But at 10:05 I decide I don't want the alarm any more and want to switch the snoozing off and dismiss the alarm.
In previous version of Android, this was easy. Whenever phone was snoozing, there would be a notification in the notification pull down screen that I could just tap, and that switched off the snooze and dismissed that alarm.
In Marshmallow this has disappeared. There is a workaround by going into clock settings, switching the alarm off and then switching it on again so it would work the next day. But this is very clumsy.
Does anyone know how to get the notification back so it works as before?
Solved
After hours of changing app settings, and system settings, I finally tracked this problem down to Clean Master. There's a setting for battery optimization in Clean Master which had been switched on and which I switched off, and the snoozed alarm showed up in Notifications as it always had before.
Warning: I had never used Clean Master although it had always been on my phone as I downloaded it early on. Something changed this setting, it wasn't me and it was not using Clean Master.
I have noticed that changing certain settings can populate other apps with changed settings. No way of telling this has happened or which apps. I would say this is a major drawback with Android. Or downloadable Apps.

Question Replace Alarms app by Google Clock

I'm trying to replace the stock alarm on the watch by Google Clock app.
In order to do this I need to disable the Samsung Alarm app on the watch (via ADB commands), that's easy...
Also I have installed Google Clock app on the watch via the Play Store but when I add an alarm to the watch and is triggered,
the sound and vibration is played but the screen is not turned on and the activity to snooze or dismiss the alarm is not displayed and,
in order to stop the alarm I need to go apps list then enter into the Google Clock app and, when I enter the app, the activity to snooze or dismiss the alarm is displayed.
Any solution to this?
Thanks
Since the timer app from Samsung needs alot of battery power, I´m using the Google Timer. There is no need to disable the Samsung app and I´m able to start the timer by doubleklick on the home button and stop the timer by tapping the display.
Maybe the Google Clock needs the Samsung Clock (in the background) to function properly?

Click to collapse
Thanks for the reply.
I have tried also not disabling stock alarm but no luck: the alarms I create in the phone are aplyed fine in the watch and the watch displays the dialog to dismiss/snooze it, but the alarms I create on the watch only plays sounds and the dialog is only displayed when I enter the Google clock app
Finally got working by manually grant a permission to the Google Clock app (in the watch):
Code:
pm grant com.google.android.deskclock android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
