Note Edge not booting up - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, the Note Edge (N915FY) won't boot up the operating system and won't enter recovery when there's a SD card inserted.
When I remove the SD card I can enter recovery and also access the SD card's files when I put it in after booting into the recovery. I somehow managed to flash cwm recovery on it.
I tried to flash lineage 8.1.0 but it fails with error code 7.
I will try flashing twrp next and try flashing lineage again.
Edit: I successfully flashed twrp 3.1.0. I will try flashing the 3.3.1 IMG from their website for tblte.
I think this some has some kind of hardware damage. Sometimes I can boot into recovery just fine, sometimes it stays on this booting screen, sometimes the screen just turns off. Then I have to take the battery out and put it back it to be able to start the phone again.
Edit: I successfully flashed twrp 3.3.1. now the phone boots into twrp without any problems, even with SD card installed
Edit: after freezing the phone at -18°C it works for some minutes just fine, so I assumed that I have to reflow it.
After reflowing the MMC it's working fine.

Hi, how did you reflow it? Oven or pro job?
Am currently using the shim mod, and working fine, but am looking for a more permanent solution.
Thanks

Nexus S won't boot to OS

I have the Nexus S from Telus.
It was rooted, unlocked, running CM7. However I've been having issues with it freezing and decided I want to go back to the stock rom.
I ended up downloading what I thought was stock ROM for my phone (Stock GRH78 Nandroid Backup in this Tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093) however after it flashed my phone, I ended up with a phone which was essentially stuck in Airplane mode, would not connect to Telus. I'm guessing that it has the wrong radio for my phone/carrier?
So then I ended up finding a zip file someone posted Stock-GRJ22-i9020A-unsigned which should have worked, I ended up flashing the zip file from recovery.
It said it installed fine. Rebooted, and now the phone just cycles the Samsung Loading screen endlessly.
I tried to go back to recovery, and it gives me yellow triangle with !.
Is there any way to flash the recovery image back to the phone?
I plug the phone in and the PC won't recognize a device.
I installed the Android SDK
Ran the command adb devices, no devices attached to the PC.
I tried fastboot devices - blank
I don't know how I'll be able to get files back onto the phone SD Card for flashing etc...
I had the exact problem two days ago...flashed an image that jacked my phone up. Wouldn't boot past the google logo. Sat there indefinitely.
Read this thread and see if you can get it work. In a nutshell, you need the PDA net drivers installed. Since PDA net can't install the app on your phone (because it's not booted into an OS) leave the install program in limbo and voila, fast boot will work. From there, push the recovery.img (google Clockworkmod recovery image), boot into recovery and you are off to the races.
This is, of course, assuming you already have a ROM image on your internal SD card you can flash to get back up and running. I'm not sure how to install a .zip image ROM if you can't gain access to your SD card.

Good luck, I know the feeling. It blows.
Ah, just found out how to install a file on a phone that won't boot.
You do need to flash CWM recovery first though.

Good news! I tried a factory reset/data wipe and rebooted the phone.
It doesn't hang anymore, all functions restored and the phone is working on Telus again!
I guess I had to format data, clear cache, before the flash of the rom.
So relieved.
Issue has been solved!

[Q] Help needed !! phone not switching on.

Hello ,
I have installed CW recovery and CM 11 on my rooted nexus 5.
then wanted to format my sd card ,so for that i went to CW recovery from boot and did all formats mentioned in it.
And came back to the sd card to install CM 11 again from sd, but sd card was wiped off.
now i am not able to switch on my phone.
It just stays in the "google" screen itself.
Please help me how to put back it to any working state.
PS:I have not backed up phone..

Can you still get into recovery? If so use adb to push the ROM to the phone.
Why did you format everything and the SD card... That as you found out wipes everything out. Even if you had a backup on the device it would of wiped it. You should always keep a backup of the device and efs saved off the device to a PC.
Hold the power button for 20 seconds, that'll turn off the phone. Then boot into recovery and adb push a Rom to it. If you can't do that then fastboot flash the factory image
Sent from my Nexus 5
Thankyou guys for your comments~!
I finally figured out.
To fix this what i did was
1.to boot the phone , pressed volume volume down+power.
2.installed the CW recovery using adb.
3.went in to the CW recovery and selected "install zip from sideload".
4.installed CM 11 succesfully using adb.
5.done!!
Now everything looks good but
my sim card is not getting detected.
I doubt the radio software didnt install at all.
Please let me know if i need to install any other software or i am missing something here!!

[Completed] My phone only boots into Recovery mode. (CWM)

So recently I've taken my hand at attempting to install Cyanogen on my phone. But I believe something went wrong.
I installed CWM onto my phone and wiped my SD card clean. Then via ADB, I transferred the files required into my phone and installed the firmware. However, upon loading it, I ran into multiple errors so I decided to format the system/sdcard again and reinstalled it.
Now whenever my phone turns on, it just goes straight into recovery. I've attempted to use multiple ROM files to install onto my phone but nothing works. My phone is an LG Optimus G Pro ("e980") using CWM recovery if that helps. I'm honestly a little scared that I permanently damaged this phone. The only real thing I can accomplish is installing a ROM into the phone, so I know for a fact that if I can pass this loop, there's an OS waiting for me. :/

You flashed the recovery as boot, you can flash your boot img or reflash the whole rom...
You should be able to boot properly

With the assistance of TWRP in a zip file, I was able to flash my outdated CWM away.
Thank you for the confirmation, was scared if I flashed a recovery in a recovery, I would of lost something.
Great that you solved your problem.

Oneplus One TWRP Bootloop

Hi,
I've got a Oneplus One that's stuck in a twrp recovery boot loop, and I'm wondering if anyone can help. I just had my screen replaced and when I got it back it was stuck in a twrp recovery bootloop, and I couldn't boot into fastboot mode- not via recovery, and not via holding the power/volume buttons down. By wiping the system in twrp I was able to get into fastboot mode, and flash the latest stock Cyanogen rom cm-13.1-ZNH2KAS254-bacon-signed-fastboot-d194f46bee. Everything booted up fine, and at that point the phone had been restored to stock. After that, I installed the latest cyanogenmod snapshot cm-13.0-20160419-SNAPSHOT-ZNH0EAO2O0-bacon, and everything booted up fine. Next I flashed the latest twrp 3.0.2-0 and rebooted the system. At that point everything seemed to be okay. I took the back cover off again to try and line up the speaker grill a little bit better, and now I'm stuck in a recovery bootloop again, except this time I can't get back to fastboot mode by wiping the system, and I don't have consistent internet access to research how to fix this (I'm posting this from the library). I was able to install the cm snapshot again via twrp thinking that it would just undo whatever it is that was causing the problem, but the phone still boots into twrp every time. Twrp does detect that I have indeed installed the zip, it's just I can't boot into anything other than twrp. Even when I plug the phone in powered off as if to charge it, it boots straight into recovery. I am able to put files on the phone via mtp, and it shows up under adb devices as serial# recovery when I mount mtp, so if there is a magic file that I can install, or an adb command that I can run, or if you know of the solution please lend me a helping hand.
Apparently the issue is that I wiped data via twrp instead of formatting data, and that wipe data is a feature of the stock recovery that twrp doesn't carry out, and as a result there is a command written somewhere on a partition that is forcing the phone into an endless twrp bootloop. Apparently this command <dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=64 count=1> worked for a person that had a asus tf700 that was doing the same thing. How would I modify this command to get it to work on the OPO, or should it work as is?
This didn't work. I WAS able to use the colorOS flashing tool to install colorOS onto the phone, but it's still stuck in a recovery boot loop, and still can't get to fastboot, or get to the lock screen. I think that it may be a problem with the volume button since the colorOS boot seems to work, except for the recovery boot looping part. Any ideas?

Booting/Recovery issues, Need help. (yes I researched)

Going to try to give as much information as possible so it will help me figure this out.
I have been working with Renovate module and rom/ Different magisk etc.
The display within the settings has been always messed up and crashes upon using.
So someone suggested a factory reset.
Pre-reset. I did a nandroid backup as well as Titanium backup , and google sync just in case.
Then everything was fine. But had some issues with Magisk installer. Basicly it was not correct and root didn't work correctly.
Flashing some module updates and newest Renovate update.
Then going back to reboot, all of a sudden it goes into fastboot mode.
Tried restarting in recovery , and it would not. It always wants to go to fastboot mode.
Posting and getting some advice (Thanks) they said I bricked my phone.
I tried everything I could to get data that I did a backup of off my phone (This is where I with it was micro SD)
Finally got into TWRP VIA fastboot boot ( had to change active slot) and it was encrypted.....
Booted again using Bluespark via fastboot (Think it was slot b this time) and was able to get a full SD backup onto PC.
Thinking this is going good, I flashed bluespark into slot b?.
Well it never took, and just showed a white light on top , the notification light.
Tried a few flashing VIA fastboot, and last thing I did was fastboot boot an official TWRP, to a slot that worked.
Tried Msmdownloadtool, and various other ways to get stuff going.
Tried Fastboot flashall and fails as well
Can anyone help me get the phone back so recovery works or help in any way?

UPDATE: When booting into TWRP 3.2.2.0 it gives me encrypted files. When booting into TWRP 3.2.3.0 it gives me non-encyrpted files and asks for password.
Booting anything to slot A gives me a load error. failed to authenticate.
Update2: Now I cannot get Bluspark TWRP or stock recovery to load VIA Fastboot. Only TWRP 3.2.3.0 works and loads correctly
Update 3: Keep having to do different versions of TWRP to get anything going, even tried OTA and did not work.
Update 4: Phone wants to boot into Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics mode when light is on.
Found you
