MIUI 9 on Xiaomi Mi A1?

Hello guys, I know the device's proposal is to have pure Android. But I just saw this video and I find it interesting to debate. Do you think that is true?

yes you can. in indonesia someone make it happen by flashing miui 9 using ufibox.

and that tool prize is about same with 5x prize ???

Very nice Puksom. I'm planning on trying the 9.15 on Mi website. They do not point this ROM as chinese or global.

Probably it is compatible. They did not mention because the 8/256 has limited avaiability.

EDIT: And it is stock! System UI is continuously crashing when the language is set to English though
EDIT2: Doing the setup in chinese and then switching to English works

Didn't got it to work, as I have a Mac. Tomorrow I will install a Windows version to use the flash tool. On a different of I didn't get to install .net framework..

You need unlocked bootloader

Does this mean that when Android P fully releases it'll be completely stock or will it MIUI? Or would you get the choice between the two?

I remember the poll that Xiaomi done on twitter were more people voted for stock Android over MIUI, I don't see how they can get users to adjust to stock with dev previews but then on full release switch to MIUI, that would be dumb

Curious - why did you feel it was necessary to switch back for this?

I have my bootloader unlocked but I don't want to install twrp though. How can I flash the 5.1.6 update nevertheless?

Yep got 186 this morning. Just curious what are you hoping it'll fix. As I'm not having any issues...

Dark mode is not available as a toggle in pie. Still have to use a dark theme to compensate for this. The volume of the dual speakers is not as loud as in Oreo. Just these minor issues. Overall Pie is working well.

OK. I never needed or wanted a dark mode so I guess I'm not missing or wanting it.
I mentioned on another thread that to me the volume of pie is about the same as Oreo. Maybe it's just me.

I didn't need to. Everything is working fine. The only thing I had to do was sideload Google Play Store apk as the new firmware doesn't have it.

Seems OK for me.... But I have only had Pie for a couple of days. Too early to tell. But from using the phone it seems OK.
A few people on this forum have said that Pie is worse than Oreo for battery life. And speaker volume is quieter also....

I have so many issues with my phone. Apps are managed terribly. Battery drain and battery health, some apps don't work on wlan and notifications don't work for standard apps like messenger and outlook until I open the app. Basically the most important parts of a smartphone don't function properly.

with 186 I can't activate Google assistant with voice command 'ok google', spent 30 minutes still couldn't find where the setting was. Any help?

firmware finder says my version of emui is not supported.
Also, mi just got my Honor note 10 4 days ago, dyou think that is why theres no OEM Unlock in the developer options?

I got the update via OTA. Bootloader is locked by default. I've never seen on unlock in developer options..
