Please tell me devs are working on custom rom. please

One Ui is actually a great.. you definetly shouldn't be desperately needing to remove it as nowadays it's great... I think it's more of the fact that you enjoy the process of flashing..

All this says it that they will say when it is coming out next week - not that the official rom will be out next week

yes but now we'll have the kernel source code!
Wrong section bro. btw ya really good news...also my GB with sense 2.1 odex nand fit version is done will upload it soon...after first boot data partition has 110Mb for apps data...
I believe 10 days ago HTC announced Desire won't be getting Gingerbread, because of memory problems.
@htrx, they said htc will remove some of the app so they can fit GB.
Great news, if we get more out of the official version.
And 9 days ago they retracted that statement following a massive rollocking by the community
great news i think
Hope for a better kernel (and for snq´s extras on this)
also for better radio, ril, wifi..and battery
with kind regards..Alex
"Exciting" news for the ones not rooted LOL
Reading the above statement correctly though just says they will be announcing when the update will be coming next week. So for all we know they could say GB for Bravo will come next year!

Biblically epic! Just remember to exclude that bloatware you are always including in your ROMs...
My phone is rooted, and i have GB already, but this official+Our dev's edits will rock in the air, i mean no bugs at all...
Mmmm...
I think you'll find the only thing of interest are the Kernels... anyone who wants Gingerbread on their device has had it for months... they sure aren't going to add any Sense 3 stuff either which I've been enjoying for a long time. Good job we have techy wizards in this community who know how a ROM should be put together

But it will be a proper Desire GB rom, not a patched together mix of other Roms. I havent switched back to a sense rom due to this.
Im happy with Redux, but with a proper Desire GB Rom Ill be interested

+1 for this, i know what you mean...essentially all hd gb sense are based on rcmixhd or neo´s rom...(include mine..as i have not the time to patch the hd rom complete to make it work for desire)
and if we get it...it´s make/done for desire...so i think it have better performence..
with kind regards...Alex
I would love to see this rom somewhere in XDA, stock GB from htc on the desire

Just got my B60 updated no youtube lag no probs should i mod?

I got my B60 today very happy although its now been on charge 4hours still isnt full so havnt unplugged. Alot of people complained on here about youtube lag keyboard lag etc etc i havnt had any of this has asus fixed in latest update if i mod will i encounter these probs i want to overclock but want it to stay as smooth as it is right now or better
As long as you're happy with your stock TF, why mod it?
And btw, I see no reason for overclocking!
So why not wait for Android 4.0?
i wanted to root for overclocking and alot of apps i use that require root permissions super user etc but i dont want youtube etc to lag like some people have had on custom roms at the mo it all seems snappy but i know i could make improvements and i do miss some of those root apps sixaxis root explorer being able to change buil.prop etc
i want stock stability but my mods if and when i need them what im asking is is this true atm or should i wait till future for rock solid mod?

Once again, overclocking is not needed. Sorry, I see no reason for that. But I understand the wish for root. So why not root with stock rom? That's maybe the best solution currently.
How safe is rooting the tf because the prospect of ubuntu and a custom rom with full root premissions does sound extremely nice i just want it to run as smooth as stock though once i do mod is development far along enough now to make this a realistic thought?
also when ice cream sandwhich is finally released im sure somebody will port it right?

Chances are good, that Asus will bring 4.0 by firmware update and that new custom roms will be developed as stock rooting too.
ive read most of the forums and nvflash seems bullet proof to bricking but i was asking more for real world experiance wise my previouse android device was a lg gt540 well still is my phone but you get my point and that couldnt brick without me knowing how to fix and this seems the same just need a real world view not thread view

Need Testers for Multitasking fix

Looking for a couple of testers to test the multitasking fix I came up with, it's based on 2.23 but it should also work on 2.20 also. This is only a deodex'd version, so if you don't know what that means, please don't ask to be a tester for this.
PM me if you interested but I will only take a couple sorry

I hope you get this fixed and it makes it over to the EVO 4g lte. This issue is so damn annoying!!!!
I'll be willing to test.
do you have enough testers already ?
Hey !
I've been waiting patiently for some news about your findings on this issue.
Do you have enough testers already ?
Thanks for awesome work !:good:
Hi Calkulin. Any updates on the Multitasking Fix? Any chance there will be a stand alone fix to use on other roms? Dont get me wrong i'd be glad to use your rom if that's the only way it will be released but i haven't heard much in that department lately, the rom thread in general has been dead a few weeks now.... I remember reading that you had it completely fixed, working like previous HTC devices but memory was still an issue. Now that we have source on the newer Kernel that freed up some ram, do you have any plans for that? There really is a bunch of great roms out now but the absolute only thing wrong with this phone is the multitasking, and you appear to be the only one that has figured out how to fix it. Here's another $25 for your time so far. Thank you. Confirmation number: 7CY84011DR4762823. If you do anymore work on this that would be wonderful, If you dont thats ok too. Not many phones out nowadays that have only 1 bug, i can live with that
He completed awhile ago. It's pretty much perfect when I tested it on a 2.23 rom. Makes it on par with my N7 in terms of multitask.
With that said, I haven't had any multitasking problems with the newest base Roms like KingCobra or Viper.

Has it been released? Am i over looking it? I know his rom had it implemented but i was hoping for a flash able fix possibly :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
The ROM is just about done, I'm just testing a couple of different configs to see which I like better. As for releasing the fix as a standalone zip, I might but that decision will come after I release the ROM

This is simply a deodexed version of Tachi91 ROM.. if you just wanna use it I'd suggest flash his since it's odexed (slightly better performance) this is for themers/devs
however feel free to flash it, it's just as safe as Tachi91s version
edit: and yes, we will be working on multiple updates for our ROM's. I'm working on a Merge update as we speak

This version is running great for me, very smooth and very fast. I got my SMS/call log restored and used TB to restore my 105 apps with user data :good: Thanks Chongo.
I'll be uploading a version of MergeX shortly... this will be tweaked slightly and debloated. Just in case you guys were wondering #shamelesspromotion
I noticed this build isn't properly rooted yet... feel free to flash the SuperSU zip after. I thought something was finicky lol

Flashing the SuperSU zip doesn't fix it. You still don't have write access in /system.
This problem reminds me of the old days where some phones didn't have write access in /system unless they were s-off. Very odd, considering all the pre-JB roms don't have this problem on our phones.
so even though you have root access in root checker you dont really have root?...my supersu is working.. i can allow and deny stuff? and supersu stuck when i rebooted..

Correct. It's not actually working. There is no write access in /system, despite the presence of supersu/superuser and the binary.

Most stable ROM for the long run?

I want to give my unused nexus 5 for a friend, but it's been almost a year since I visited these forums. I want to give him nougat if possible, but are those ROMs stable? Basically I need a stable ROM with good battery life and that's it. What would you recommend?
I recommend flashing the phone with the latest stock MM so it will receive security updates.
Stock will be the most stable.

Thanks. But he doesn't really need security updates. And when I was using it, I'm sure XtraStock and XtraSmooth were really stable, no reboots and no bad stuff happenning. Also, multi window support would be cool, so what is the most stable Nougat ROM?

Try PureWhite6.0.1 Rom, it is very stable as it is based on stock rom.
I am using it since long time.
It's a Nexus, they're all stable. Some have some bugs, but I cannot consider any of these ROMs unstable, like so many of them were on my Galaxy S back in 2011. Me personally, I use Nitrogen 7.1.1, and not only is it stable, I can't even find any bugs in it.
AOSP 7.1.1 by @Santhosh M is great. Also The Fakenexus 7.1.1 is going yo get update soon i think. it was my favourite rom, but i lacked updates for last month. Right @ganachoco ?

Sure? I thought the N5 won't receive any security updates any more.
The n5 won't get nougat but I thought it would receive security patches for a little while longer.
Edit: Looks like the n5 was supposed to stop getting updates three years from the date of introduction or 18 months from when it stopped being sold. Maybe the security updates have stopped?
They have.
I am also searching for a ROM for my N5. I dont want to flash again and again. Lets say I want to choose between AOSP 7.1.1 by @santhoshm and the LineageOS Rom. What are the differences? For Updates: I think the LinageOS will have an integrated Update Feature. And in the Rom by SanthoshM I will have to flash manually in TWRP each Update? And besides that, one is completely the Stock Rom and CM hat some extra features but looks ans feels nearly the same as stock. ...?
Thank you guys!
