Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Problem Resolved.

Hello! So I tried to install a custom rom called Lineage OS, version 17.1 unofficial for my SOny Xperia 10 through TWRP custom recovery. I then tried installing the GApps and then rebooted the system. Then it came up with a prompt saying that the OS was corrupted and then to factory reset it. I did just that, and then LineageOS booted up just fine. However no Google Apps could be seen. I then tried to boot in to TWRP custom recovery, however it came up with the LineageOS recovery instead. I then tried to flash TWRP and managed to get it up and running, but when I rebnooted the phone, it just brought me in a boot loop.
I tried for hours to fix it and the I finally managed to flash TWRP again, however all of my save files were gone. I then tried to flash the Stock ROM for the Xperia 10 to the "system" folder and then my device powered off. I tried to power it on again and then it came up with a prompt saying "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot. Powering off in 5 sec.". I got really freaked out at this point and did not know what to do. I know that I am an idiot for doing this, but if there is any fix at all for this that anybody can tell me, then I would be very thankful.

Flawless on I3123 so far. Really appreciate the work on this device.
Has somebody tried this on I3113?
Are all components working fine?

Considering this thread is pretty much dead, you may as well just go for it. It /should/ be fine, just make sure to /format data/ instead of wiping it and don't install /twrp app/. If you notice something broken, let me know about it and I'll probably try to fix it.

Hi, I am using it on a i4113; it seem to work fine - and appreciate this work, htanks Luk1337 - I found two strange behavior (not too critical):
- When the phone is shut down and plug it to charge, it power ON normally instead to keep it on charge only
- Connecting to my car via Bluetooth, I don't see operator and signal strenght... but phone calls, messages, phonebook and call log work fine...
Thanks in advance!

I have a fix for that, I'll release build with it soon (TM).

Theoretically SAP is already enabled so I have no idea why it wouldn't work. I'm not going to bother investigating further as this isn't really that important ( and I don't have hardware needed to reproduce this anyway ).
What gapps do you recommend? I have an i3113 and after i flashed opengapps, i always get this weird "Android setup isn't responding" "System UI Keeps crashing" thing. What can i do?

Got that fix, now charging works fine... Great!!
About Bluetooth issue, I can confirm it's not due to SAP profile, it's enabled; here is what I found more:
Using one SIM only it seem to show SIM2 status:
- if SIM is in SIM1 slot, it shows No signal / Emergency calls only as I alreaedy mentioned
- if SIM is in SIM2 slot, it shows operator and signal strength
Using two SIM, it shows operator and signal strength of the SIM selected for calls.

Yeah that doesn't sound fun. Not going to bother.
On a sidenote, next build will fix Netflix Widevine L1.
Worked perfectly in my I4193. By the way, how do I build the zip via github source code or if there is any document about how to build? I found there is no lineage_kirin-eng in the LineageOS github repository. Here is my command to retrieve Lineage OS.
repo init -u git://github.com/LineageOS/android.git -b lineage-17.1
Thank you very much.

How to flash latest firmware
[ protip: Currently Lineage builds depend on latest 8.0 firmware (50.1.A.13.123), they will not boot up on 50.2.A.0.* or newer ]
1. Download latest firmware with XperiFirm.
NOTE: When using mono XperiFirm will fail to unpack the firmware, you can do it manually using following commands:
Code:
for f in FILE_*; do unzip $f; done
unzip boot.zip -d boot
2. Go to the directory where the firmware got downloaded to and remove following files:
- kernel_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- kernel_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- persist_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- persist_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- system_other_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- system_other_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- system_other_X-FLASH-ALL-9B8D_0x00.hash
- system_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- system_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- system_X-FLASH-ALL-9B8D_0x00.hash
- userdata_X-FLASH-CUST-18AE.sin
- vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE_0x00.hash
- vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-18AE.sin
- vendor_X-FLASH-ALL-9B8D_0x00.hash
3. Turn off your phone, hold vol dn and plug in the USB cable, the screen should be off and green LED lit.
4. Run Newflasher, it'll flash entire FW to your current slot then unplug the USB cable and power on your phone.
5. Turn off your phone, hold vol up and plug in the USB cable, the screen should be off and blue LED lit.
6. Enter this command: `fastboot getvar current-slot`, it should return something like this:
current-slot: _b
Finished. Total time: 0.001s
7. Now switch to the opposite slot by entering command: `fastboot set_active a` if the current slot is `_b` or `fastboot set_active b` if its `_a`, you should see this:
Setting current slot to 'a'...
OKAY [ 0.012s]
Finished. Total time: 0.014s
or
Setting current slot to 'b'...
OKAY [ 0.012s]
Finished. Total time: 0.014s
8. Unplug usb cable and repeat steps: 3, 4
9. Profit?

Pull a kernel log (adb shell dmesg after adb root).
[ actually I think i know what it's caused by, add me on hangouts/discord whenever it's not 4am in my timezone ]
If someone wants to be helpful, let me know if flashing this kernel https://kremowka.xyz/files/b767d5e5d4817b0530914d929f7611d315afd233.img ( fastboot flash boot b767d5e5d4817b0530914d929f7611d315afd233.img ; fastboot reboot ) fixes external sdcard ^.^
Once I get a confirmation that it actually fixes the issue I'll merge changes in repos and next official build will have working ext SD.
[ someone else already confirmed it works thus I merged required change ]

You can flash the boot image located a few posts before for the external storage fix, I'm sure it will come officially in the next build.
Now that today's build is out I disabled downloading of kernel image from page #1 so that less smart people won't think they need to flash it on newer builds.

No, but dual sim feature won't work properly. You can keep using it as a single sim device tho.

Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Please make sure before upgrading to LineageOS 16.0 to read the Official Instructions here in LOS Wiki carefully!
Make sure before flashing you upgrade the TWRP version with the one provided in the instructions page due to changes to support hardware accelerated encryption on our R7S!
You will run into issues if you do not upgrade to the provided TWRP version!
I recommend a clean install due to above changes.
Followed the instruction exactly but wifi does not work (mac address 02:00:00, it can not find any AP...)
If someone has this issue like me, flash back to Spectrum then boot into it and connect to some AP, then flash LineageOS again, but do not wipe anything.
Does Pixel Launcher work for you?
It crashes on my phone. A workaround: https://www[.]reddit[.]com/r/LineageOS/comments/awjvnk/lineageos_16_stock_open_gapps_pixel_launcher/
Working well so far even though I updated using twrp 3.2.3
Only issues are, app permissions seem to show up when they want and bluetooth connection can be ropey depending on device. Have one receiver with no issues but my Sennheisers cant keep a connection from two feet. Will try re-pairing.
Thanks to you all. :highfive:
I needed this for root, so for anyone who needs it...

Edit.....Just updated to latest build and root disappears so the above will be needed.
Will the SU binaries be reinstalled for future builds?

I do use magisk, I need to install this beforehand or magisk doesn't work.
When I first installed 16, I read that lineage removed the su binaries so there is no root out of the box.
Bit of a pain really.
When the screen is locked, you're still able to swipe down from the status bar to expand it to show buttons. Is there any way to disable expanding the status bar when the screen is locked?
Just tried the recommended TWRP image and it screwed it up. Now i have no recovery! I'll have to attach to a computer to see if I can reflash it to get back in. Anyone else try this with the same result?
Hi, is there any difference between the build 16-04 and 17-04 ? No changelog is shown.

The recommended TWRP image is actually a lower version than the official image through the TWRP app, and that's why my recovery got screwed up. I'd flashed an earlier image onto a later one. The recommended one would probably be the one to use if you were switching to Lineage for the first time, maybe? Just to warn people not to be as careless as I am!
I spent half a day messing about with getting the tools again to perform a flash from my pc. Every time, I end up relying on "Minimal ADB & Fastboot" because I have no luck getting any other driver package to work. But this package really is the smallest pack to get it done and it makes it easy to use, thank goodness.
Thanks to the developers for continuing to work on the phone. I'm loving Android 9/Lineage 16. There isn't much of a visual change, which is great. Under the hood, it's more obvious, but it's definitely running much smoother than L15 already.

There will, of course, be changes, or it wouldn't be offered. Most changes are bug fixes or security updates, so you wouldn't necessarily notice any change.
Maybe the gestures are sensitive but every time I go out, the phone always opens my music player at destination. Have turned them off see if it happens again.
Never happened on 15.
Bluetooth seems to be a mixed bag so far. When it works it's fine, but when connection is lost re-pairing and forget/connect can be hit and miss. It will show the device but not be connected so you have to go deeper into settings to fix it.
More often I always end up going the long way round just to get connection.
BT ended up rock solid on 15 so I'm confident it'll improve.
Update. So clearing storage and cache in 'App info' seems to have fixed connection issue. Let's see how we get on...

Mine keeps connecting, disconnecting, connecting... But only when there's no music playing, like it's trying to save power (so maybe it's one of the battery saving services under Android 9). Mine isn't forgetting, though. At least not yet...

Tried again today, it has the device listed but wont connect. Have to go all the way in BT menu to connect manually.
It's a problem with Pie on the whole apparently.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
MAKE SURE YOU'RE ON THE LATEST OOS FROM HERE
DO NOT EVER WIPE SYSTEM OR VENDOR ON THE OP7T!!!!!
Considering how the 7T doesn't have TWRP and has dynamic partitions, I'll try to explain everything in detail:
1. If you're coming from another ROM (including OOS) or need to perform a clean flash:
Boot into the bootloader (if you don't know how to do this, you should probably not flash)
Connect your phone to your PC and in an ADB/Fastboot shell, wipe device using
Code:
fastboot -w
Connect your phone to your PC and in an ADB/Fastboot shell, type
Code:
fastboot reboot fastboot
NOTE: If command prompt/line complains about fastboot not being a valid target you need to update fastboot from HERE
Your phone should now be in fastbootd (the UI is exactly like recovery mode so don't get confused)
Read about fastbootd HERE
Type the following to make sure your phone is in fastbootd while also making sure your phone is in the recovery-like UI
Code:
fastboot getvar is-userspace
If the above does returns the value true you can now flash the ROMs, if it doesn't try figuring out what went wrong (I don't want to hear about the failed attempts, please don't spam the thread with them)
Type this command to flash the ROM:
Code:
fastboot update <ROM.zip>
NOTE: IF COMMAND LINE IS SAYING:
Code:
archive does not contain 'xyz.sig'
This is normal, ignore it.
After the above is done, your device will automatically reboot to AOSiP, have fun!
OPTIONAL:
If you want magisk, patch the boot image from the AOSiP site which ends in the name -boot.img, in Magisk manager
Boot to bootloader
Boot into that image (DO NOT FLASH!!!)
Code:
fastboot boot magisk_patched.img
Install Magisk manager and from it select Install > Direct install
Reboot and enjoy AOSiP with Magisk!
Enjoy
OPTIONAL:
If you'd like to convert to F2FS:
Open settings>system>reset options and select Erase all data (factory reset)
This'll wipe all data and convert your device to f2fs automatically!
2. If you're updating the ROM:
a. Via the inbuilt Updater
When you get a notification of new build available, tap it
Tap Download
Wait for Download
Tap install
Wait for install
If you use Magisk, open Magisk Manager, select install, select Install to Inactive Slot (After OTA)
Tap reboot
Enjoy!!
b. Manually via bootloader
Disable all substratum overlays if you have a theme applied
Boot into fastbootd
If you're booted into the system
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
If you're booted into bootloader
Code:
fastboot reboot fastboot
Flash the ROM using
Code:
fastboot update <ROM.zip>
NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO WIPE DATA WHEN UPDATING
Reboot to system and enjoy
NOTE: If you have issues with Settings or Play Services force-closes you need to clean flash (Method 1).

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
Include your OOS base versions in reports. (Eg: 10.0.1, 10.0.2, 10.0.6 etc.)
Mention any and all Magisk modules you might be using along with the Magisk version
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg .
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Fastboot isn't allowing me to flash system image, what am I doing wrong?
A: You haven't booted to fastbootd (the UI looks like recovery and fastboot devices command shows the device in fastboot mode)
Q: What GApps do I flash?
A: You cannot flash Gapps on the device, use the Gapps variant build instead if you need Gapps.
Q: When booting to the Magisk patched image, it leads to crashdump mode.
A: You didn't select the first two options in Magisk Manager before patching the boot image under Advanced settings (i.e. Preserve force encryption and Preserve AVB 2.0/dm-verity).
Q: Do I have to wipe data if coming from another ROM?
A: Yes, I will not be providing help/support to users that haven't wiped data when coming from another ROM.
Q: How often will I be getting updates?
A: The plan is for weeklies, if unavoidable circumstances come up, please don't spam the thread. I will release a build as soon as one is ready.
Q: Does VoLTE/VoWiFi work?
A: VoLTE works, I have tested on Airtel in India and a couple of my US based testers have too.
VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) works based on my testers in the US and for me on Airtel (India), let me know about other carriers.
Q: Does Android Auto work?
A: I don't have accessibility to an Android Auto vehicle nor the hardware but my testers have confirmed that it works! Let me know if it does for you too so that others have concrete proof about it.
Q: I ended up on CrashDump mode, how do I get back to my system?
A: Theres a valuable thread HERE which can help restoring your system, you WILL LOSE ALL DATA and I will not be blamed under any circumstances.
Q: Is the ROM official?
A: The ROM is Official.
Q: I use Telegram, where can I find help on that platform?
A: There is a common AOSiP Group Chat for all devices, the link is HERE
Q: Does SafteyNet pass and is the SELinux Enforcing?
A: Yes, SafteyNet does pass out-of-the-box and SELinux is Enforcing.
Q: What OOS Base firmware do I use?
A: OOS 10.0.6 is the recommended base firmware right now.
Q: I'm having high idle drain, please fix.
A: I'll need more data from you to figure it out, Install BetterBatteryStats and let me know about what it tells you after 3-4 charge cycles. Please do not report issues when having apps like Greenify, Naptime, Wakelock blocker etc.
Q: My phone is stuck on the "Bootloader is unlocked" warning page, why isn't my system booting?
A: Since there are a bunch of scripts being executed when the device is sent a power on signal, it might take some time to boot. Don't panic, your system will boot fine after some time. All builds are personally tested by me and a few testers.

Yay, aosip is here. You are the man @anirudhgupta109 glad you got Verizon going. Kudos to the Verizon tester and whatnot.
Thank you for the perfect Rom.
This has all the customizable features like android 9
so when you say a clean flash, does it mean wiping the internal storage as well cause it'll be a little vexing to transfer all the data again and again

Very well written op and following couple posts. OP's like this is why I still use XDA everything right where you need it instead of having to go through thousands of lines of Chat.
This is the most detailed instructions I've ever seen on xda. Very well written. Thanks for your patience teaching a newb everything he should know. And congrats for your nice work!
I installed it. Great work. Thanks.
All looks fine so far. Didn't setup fingerprint yet so no comments on that.
The only thing that I did not like much is the camera app. Can we have camera of Oneplus or GCam please? I know, I can install gcam separately but would be better if it is included instead of the one available right now in the rom.
So far the experience has been great. Fingerprint is pretty good, about 9/10 success times.
I noticed that the FP icon when pressed is only a white circle, while on OOS it's white with red in middle, that wouldn't factor in accuracy?
Additionally, on AOD, does the screen stay running at 90Hz? As that would make it drain battery quite fast.
Either way, great ROM, thank you.

Yes, clean flashing includes internal storage.
The only time you need to clean flash is when coming from another ROM.
When updating AOSiP you don't need to so it's basically a one time process.

We are an open source project so including any form of closed source apps we can do away with irks me. The idea of having GApps inside the ROM itself feels wrong but it's a necessity.
Anyway, the latest Urnyx GCam works perfectly with AOSiP without any magisk modules nor setting permissive selinux. It's literally install and use so you can do so if you need to.
The OnePlus Camera also works, just that it needs to be launched from the long press menu on your launcher.

That's an interesting observation, I'll look into the red center.
No, there is nothing to refresh on AOD so it doesn't run on 90Hz.
You can also choose the type of 90Hz you want to run with in OnePlus Settings (forced or auto)
Hey the google bar seems to be permanently affixed to the home screen, I cant drag it away like a normal widget, is there anything I can do about that short of installing a launcher?
10.0.7
What are my chances if I start from 10.0.7?
I've got problems with an updated rooted 1903. Tried to keep root but didn't work. Now I've got no wifi and no sound.
Will this get me rolling again?

Anyone having weaker WiFi signal compared to OOS? On a 5GHz WiFi that is. Same testing position, yet much weaker. Additionally, frequent disconnections.
LineageOS is a free, community-built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Important information:
This thread is for LineageOS 18.1 builds for OnePlus 3/3T. The following will not be supported here:
Custom kernels
Mods
Xposed
We don't support Xposed and any logcat which includes an Xposed module will be ignored. You're kindly invited to not report bugs if you:
Flashed a custom kernel
Installed or did mods from untrusted sources
Modified system files
Tips:
You need at least OxygenOS 9.0.2 firmware, otherwise you'll get error 7 when installing the zip. Latest firmware is recommended.
Installation:
First time flashing LineageOS 18.1 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s)
Install a compatible Recovery (Official TWRP 3.4+ is highly recommended: https://dl.twrp.me/oneplus3/)
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM (Optional)
Wipe data/factory reset
Flash LineageOS
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package
Reboot

Yes, the key for signing the build doesn't matter.
My initial testing of this rom is that everything is working (based on my usage): WiFi, phone calls, SMS, NFC (Google Pay) all work.
I had a bit of problem setting the wallpaper initially (FCed), but the problem went away on its own after waiting a bit of time.
I'm missing the settings option to specify the duration of the capacitive key backlight, but that's no big deal.
I'm using Opens Gapps pico 210130 and Magisk 21047.
I've seen evidence of the sensor_SMD kernel wake lock issue that I've seen on all Android 11 roms I've tested previously. I'll post more details on this once I've captured a logcat of the problem.

Last time I used NapTime, it drains more battery than it should and my phone was almost all the time in idle untouched with WIFI and everything else off
Regarding the sensor_SMD wake lock:
Generally, the rom can go for long periods without this wake lock showing up:

But the wake lock can start at random times:
And when it starts, it will stop the device from going into deep sleep (look at the "Awake (Screen off)" figures). This will drain the battery a lot faster than normal. See 210209-174541-log.zip for logs.
However, I find that the wake lock will always start when the phone is fully recharged (I usually do this just before I go to bed). See 210209-174541-log.zip for logs.
Fortunately, a reboot gets rid of the wake lock.

If the plattform key is changed a clean flash is highly recommended (though not required if you use a migration script or zip - NOT!!! recommended). Since los recovery (as well as current twrp for that matter) and los boot image are signed with aosp verity key, you don't need to unlock bl if you run any version of los with a locked bl.
I've explained the three different keys and signatures used in a single build in depth in the llos 17 thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...or-oneplus-3-3t.3990061/page-60#post-82568467

Nice finding. Just check the source and that should be the Significant Motion Detector if I'm not wrong. Dunno if there are any drawbacks but you should be able to disable it by adding " ro.vendor.sensors.smd=false" to /vendor/build.prop, please try if it helps.

I set the property as you suggested. After more than 12 hours, including a full recharge, there's no sign of the wake lock. It's looking good.
Thank you!
May be a stupid question and definitely not belonging here, but can not find the answer anywhere else....
When is /vendor/build.prop used and when /system/build.prop?
It seems settings of /vendor/build.prop are used earlier in the boot process and are vendor specific, where afterwards /system/build.prop settings are added later in the boot process and are OS specific.
A lot of people are messing with build.prop settings but have no idea what they are doing and if settings are even working or not. As I see it, some settings put in /system/build.prop are in fact settings which belong in /vendor/build.prop, but I do not know if everything put in /system/build.prop will overrule /vendor/build.prop or the other way around....
In some Android 10 code I found the order default.prop, build.prop, vendor.prop, where /vendor/build.prop is loaded after /system/build.prop, though not sure if this is the default then....
You see, no idea what I am talking about; I hope someone can clear things up...

First of all: since op3/t has no dedicated vendor partition /vendor is a symlink to /system/vendor.
/default.prop is read first and contains settings necessary for basic boot (historically this file has been part of the root partition which has been ramfs contained in the boot image as cpio archive prior to system as root, which allows to set these props before system was mounted - obviously that's not longer the case with system as root.
/system/vendor/build.prop is read as second source containing vendor specific props. Systematically this should contain settings specific to the vendor(s) of the device and the actual os (which are the same, as long as you use stock roms, but obviously differ if you use an custom source build rom like los).
/system/build.prop is reaf as third source and should contain general android settings.
If the same prop is set in more then one file the last one wins as long as it's no read only prop (ro.*). For ro.* prop the first one wins, because it can't be changed after setting. Exeption: if you use magisk, you can alter ro.* props (by command from the commamdline or a script).
Additionally to these three sources some props are set by init (first os process started by the kernel and controlling the boot process). See:

Thanks for the clear explanation nvertigo!
Does this rom support encryption?
Thank you for your hard work and look forward to the arrival of offical los18.1.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:
Follow the instructions on the wiki page for your device https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#samsung
Only the provided lineage recovery will be supported, using TWRP might result in a possible data loss!
Note: You may use Odin instead of Heimdall, for this you will need to rename the recovery image to recovery.img and pack it into a tar archive.

What is different between this build and your previous one ?
Big guy, can you come up with a LineageOS that d2q can use, d2q users feel distressed, and there is no rom available

No, sorry hardware is too different.
builds have been removed from the lineage os website?

Yes, see this for the reason
This affected all devices so builds of last few days were pulled and sadly we had only that one build yet
There will be new ones next week
Does the build support hardware encryption or software encryption?
You should put what models this is for as to avoid confusion
just flashed the recovery image via heimdal (got recovery upload success message), but when I try to boot into recovery mode (or even just boot into Android now) I get pushed into download mode with a 'dt load fail' message at the top
says dt entry not found
load kernel could not do normal boot
error verifying vbmeta image - hash mismatch

I recall getting a vbmeta error too and I think it was a locked bootloader issue? Not sure. Definitely a d2s model?
I just reflashed stock and started again. Long press the volume up button at download selection to unlock bootloader.
I'm fairly sure Odin accepted the recovery file if you convert it to .tar. and disable auto reboot so you can button combo directly to recovery. From there install the main ROM zip.
ROM runs fine, few thing missing that I needed so came away from it unfortunately.

certainly no locked bootloader here (have had it unlocked since right after I bought it at launch)
but yea, I'm going to try and reflash the ROM and start from scratch. I was on an outdated version of ONe UI (maybe from December) so maybe that was part of the issue
EDIT - oddly enough, I couldn't get LOS recovery installed via Odin. I tried, got success messages, but a reboot into recovery mode just showed stock recovery (I wasn't missing the button combo, to my knowledge). tried a few times before going back to using heimdall
the second attempt (with a fresh install of OneUI's latest firmware) helped me get past that vbmeta error with heimdall
got LOS recovery installed, the ROM sideloaded, and I'm up and running
thanks for the hard work @Linux4 (and all others involved in working on lineageos)
First, thanks a lot for your work and for making it official, @Linux4 !
One question: I'd like to use MicroG instead of the google stuff. But since I'd rather keep it all simple, I'd not use Magisk, if possible. Is there a recommended and/or simple way to get the signature spoofing patch into this rom? Preferably so that OTA updates still work? Would NanoDroid in system mode work?

I guess the best way here would be waiting until there's a build for your device on https://lineage.microg.org/ (they build for all officially supported devices)
is the bug with registering a fingerprint common? I noticed the issue after I first installed it but then was able to add one very quickly
had to format /data to record a tutorial and after installing the build again, I can't seem to get past the fingerprint register issue I noticed before

It is not broken or whatever, see this from my telegram group in case you just don't figure it out on your own:
If fingerprint enrollment fails for first fingerprint do the following to get it working (doesn't apply to beyond0lte):
1. Retry adding fingerprint but this time tap fast and don't press too hard when putting your finger on the sensor for the first time
2. Repeat step 1 until enrollment continues without error
3. After that it will work fine and doesn't need any special handling anymore

All samsung devices using FOD have that issue it seems, only on first enrollment tho, after that it's completely fine

EDIT - was able to get it working through a factory reset with the 'tap fast' being the key thing. it needs to fail that first attempt or something?
but it's quite quick once that hassle is over with

but yea, it's not working right now. you need a logcat or something?
it's immediately throwing up the enrollment error message right when it attempts the first scan (every time)

No need for a logcat, it does work, for retrying you will need to close settings completely, just going *back* is not enough (HAL will stay in that error state)
I'm 100% sure you didn't do so also it works for everyone else
