What is the exact sequence of how you rooted? Please describe it step by step, with as much detail as possible, and include Magisk version (and TWRP version, if applicable). I suspect you did something wrong.

I have solved, making all action from the start again.. TY!

Umidigi one plus - fingerprint. Please help!!! Please help!!! Please help!!!

I tried to install custom rom an root my new UMIDIGI ONE PRO Android 8.1 Oreo. I couldn't root the phone because it was impossible to mount data partition. No tutorial could help me. However I installed the rom, (I got from the official website of UMIDIGI), the phone is still not rooted, and the worse about all ist, THE FINGERPRINT FUNCTION IS MISSING FROM SETTINGS. And there is no installed "com.fingerprintauthentificationservice installed in the apps. I guess the installed rom doesn't include the fingerprint. Unfortunately, I apparently lost my backups trying to fix the problem with twrp. Could anyone help please. Is there any custom rom for UMIGIDI ONE PLUS sopporting the fingerprint or does anyone know how to fix the problem? I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance
I think that the only solution as of right now is to flash the stock rom.
And if you still need help will root and TWRP give me a heads up, maybe I'll make a post about the whole process.
It's quite tedious but it can be done, and it works great.
Thanks but I tried three difeerent stock rom versions without satisfaction. People said it just gone because I've formatted the whole flash memory (Formatt all + download).

Bricked S8+

Hello,
I have a problem with my S8+, I will type bellow what i did to end up in the situation i am now, in the hope that someone can help me:
I installed a Custom Rom.
After successfully installation i rooted my device using Magisk.
I was curiously browsing Magisk modules in the Magisk Manager and installed a module named Miracast, i think it was this one .
After installing i was prompted for a reboot and proceeded.
After that my phone went dark and now i can only boot into donwload mode.
I downloaded the official Rom from this post to try and fix it, but when i try to install it using Odin I get the following errors :
https://ibb.co/Gt61d3t
https://ibb.co/x2sSv1x
Is there anything i can do to save the phone, or can i just throw it away?
If there is something i can still do, please lay it to me simple as possible, step by step if you got the patience.
Thank you!
No worries. You're trying to downgrade from binary 5 to binary 4 and that's why it fail.
Download a firmware where the first number is 5, like FXXU5. and it should be ok.

Oxygen 11, lost root

With every update until this one, I was able to keep root (download update, local upgrade via settings, install update, install magisk to inactive slot, reboot and done) but it did not work with this latest one. I tried mauro's toolkit but it didn't work either. What are my options to get root now? Thanks in advance!

Flash the patched img!
I'm a ****ing genius. Managed to bootloop/temp brick my phone. MSM tool saved my ass but it took a usb 2.0 slot and lots of tries to get into edl mode. I am getting tired of fighting for root and it's such a jarring and unpleasant experience to suddenly lose root.

I feel you mate, when my phone arrived I immediately managed to brick it, but it's just part of the game. To be honest I found the unbricking and rooting pretty easy on OP8, I'm quite sure when the next OTA arrives you just have to follow the same method (installing magisk to inactive slot then reboot) just like in OOS10.
Recovered, tried again, same outcome. Patched image installed correctly according to the command prompt but actually resulted in a boot loop. Will hold off from Android 11 for now.
Are you flashing the right img? What's your ROM build version? I bet you flash a wrong img for your ROM. In the above mentioned thread there are only imgs for EU, global and Indian ROMs, if you using some kind of US specific ROM then tell me and I can make you a patched img.

what to install first and second??

In general, what is the best (only??) order too flash Magisk and TWRP.
And is there a way to get older versions of MAGISK? Seems the only the current version can be installed.
Also the better way to install Magisk; Using the APK in regular phone mode or the .ZIP file from within TWRP (if flashed first).
Thanks
Sandman
If you want to use Magisk for the first time then start with 24.1.
That's where Magisk starts its new life with zygisk and the now already famous deny list.
You don't need TWRP anymore to flash Magisk.
It's even better to choose for a Direct Install.
But first of all study the module or app !
TWRP is a nice and very good backup program and so much more .... but not needed for Magisk.
Dive in the deep and don't be afraid.
BACKUP FIRST !!!

and be patient .... it's not as difficult as it seems.

I guess I have to go back and study some more. Every time I flash the "patched" boot image (output by Magisk 24) my devices enters a boot loop the the only from which I can escape is pulling the battery.
There are lots of phones with a battery that can't be removed .... So pulling your battery is old fashioned but very effective method. I am happy that you are not afraid to learn.

Well the main reason I started on this project was to deycrypt my phone. Without decrypting you can't use TWRP to do backups of /data/media with tar. I don't like other backup techniques like Titanium and others.
I finally figured out that MAGISK was the source of the boot loops. Switched to SuperSU and everything worked out fine. I am now rooted, have TWRP installed and BL permanently unlocked.
But here's the "kicker"; when flashing SuperSU it gave a notice that rebooting to system make take a longer time than usual. And further THE DEVICE MAY BOOT-LOOP ONE OR MORE TIMES!!! Just be patient and it will finally boot to system just fine. I'm a happy camper although, SuperSU doesn't provide for "fooling" the the outside world that you are rooted.
Thanks for your efforts/advice on my behalf.
Boowho??
