What you think about the speaker?
A friend from China told me that the Mi10 speaker bang the Mate 20X and for now the Mate 20X got the best speaker, even better than ROG2.
After Mi6, Mix 2s and Max 3 (this got the worst stereo speaker ever) Xiaomi fail at speaker, only mono (Mi8, Mi9, Note 10), like Huawei (P30 Pro and Mate 30 Pro).
I'm not sure to get the Mi10, because curved never again but if you get one, how it sound compare to your old phone?
Stereo and clear , best in class
Ok, after few weeks, the Mi10 is still behind a Galaxy S10+ but the Mi10 Pro is a banger!

Yes, with Mi10 and Mi10 Pro.
Mi10 is good but not as good as S10+. The Mi10 Pro is a banger, it's on a level with the Mate 20X.

I guess I need to hear it again then...
My last impression was, that the S10+ was much louder, but not necessarily better.
The S10+ are louder and richer in aound quality but nothing compare to the Pro version.
I'm getting kinda excited:fingers-crossed:
I hope with next release they will keep this speaker. I will wait for normal phone (no curved no holes)
You could be waiting for a long time then as the trend is set, everyone wants what Samsung have discarded.?
I had the S10+ and yes the sound is stronger and better quality in general but what I like about Mi 10 is that both speakers reproduce the same frequencies due to their location, with S10+ I noticed that one speaker sounded different and that was something annoying for me.
i played cod mobile and sound when someone calling me or notification comes game sound changed and very buffy and reversed footsteps and shot
anyone any solution for this ?

Just recently upgraded to p20 Pro but really not liking EMUI so was thinking of getting the OP6 128gb.
One concern is audio quality as I use Bluetooth headphones everyday, can anyone advise if the audio quality is any good.
I'm using the Sony MDR-X650BT headphones and have been happy with that. I don't profess that I'm some audiophile but it's clear, punchy with good bass and higher Max volume then my OnePlus 5 had before adjusting that with a custom Kernel and the headphones support apx not apxhd though. I'm waiting for a good Bluetooth 5.0 with apxhd without spending $400
I got the free Bose QC35ii with the p20 Pro so was disappointed they didn't support aptx but audio is still good. I'm really just not enjoying my experience with the p20 and have always wanted a OnePlus. Managed a hands on with one today and it's a nice device and I like the idea of stock-ish android.
How do you compare the camera?
I'm going crazy thinking the op6 pictures are clearer with better details?
Bluetooth on the op6 is better.
I've played around the op6 and own a p20 pro but I can't make a decision yet.
The camera is a hard one as sometimes I think the op6 takes much better photos with more details.
Where I'm from the p20p has volte and the op6 doesn't (carrier doesn't support op6)
I also dislike emui
Speakers on p20 pro is better however
The fluidity of the op6 is addictive.

Never got to really test the camera on op6, however i fine the p20 camera inconsistent and sometimes over processed especially when using AI. I have a DSLR so camera is not a deal-breaker for me.
Speakers are great on p20, and android experience on op6 is far better as is the screen.
Still can't make my mind up

Biggest deciding factor is volte
Is it worth ditching for the op6
Given that the camera can equal each other.
The p20 pro annoyingly over-softens everything.
I sold my huawei mate p10 pro to get the one plus 6 as i hated emui , i had a one plus 3t before the p10 and having gone back to the oneplus with the 6 i have no regrets, no the speaker quality is not as good but it is adequate and the camera takes excellent pictures but the os is awesome and so smooth. o2 stores have the oneplus 6 in stores why not pop in and try it out.
My Huawei P20 Pro went back for other reasons to do with unwanted branding but if anyone doesn't like Emui then Pixel.2.Launcher.modded.5.3.build.23.apk gives a pretty good impression of a Google user interface. I ended up getting a OP6. It does loads of audio codecs - AptX included. The Huawei have a software fault and you are stuck with one AAC codec..
The Launcher above works nicely on the OP6; I prefer it to the OP launcher.
I don't have a P20 Pro, but a P20. I used it for 1 week, and I was so disappointed with it, on the usability aspect.
Why do phone companies have to reinvent the wheel? Why there are duplicate apps such as calendar, calculator, etc. that Google already provides. Google apps, in my view have more features than the stock ones. True, oneplus has these duplicate apps as well, but they can be disabled. P20 doesn't let you disable Huawei made apps.
Secondly, P20's (EMUI) interface is no heavy and clunky. I am just not made for EMUI, and I would say the same Xiaomi's MIUI and other such skins... Touchwiz, LG. Hence, I returned my P20 and bought OP6. It was like returning back home (I had OP3T before).
But, back to the question on sound quality. I really like P20's audio quality via the speakers and BT headphones (Dolby), it is rich, is punchy, is clear and has descent base. Unfortunately, to my taste, OP6 has underperforming speakers, and a very average BT headphone output, even though it has APTX(HD). I miss the audio experience of P20.
I hope lineageos arrives soon for OP6; I will then install Viper4Android.
My wish is to have a fully functional lineageos/aosp for P20. But, I know it's a distant dream. Huawei will not let it happen. P20 has such an amazing hardware, but a very limited (and annoying) software experience. I don't think P20 will ever get Android P, although on papers it supports Project Treble.
The only phone that has near perfect hardware and software is Pixel, but then the asking price is sky high.
P20 Pro audio is pathetic while OP6 is much better. I use it with Sony WH-1000XM2 / LDAC and they play just fantastic with Tidal Hifi and Roon with high res files, altough those headphones play clearer over BT than on the cable.

Depth effect sucks on op6 i guess it needs a software update
The P20 Pro does have a IR blaster which i used to have fun with in shops but overall Oneplus6 is much better. I am just confused as most sites say oneplus 6 has no mobile HDR support but people in forums say youtube HDR is working
guys m getting 23k for my nex as i bought it for 26k n used for 5 months 3k loss but m thinking to upgrade op7 is that 10k worth investing on oneplus 7? please drop ur suggestion
I would say yes, you would have a better camera (face unlock), better fingerprint sensor, better screen(90hz refresh rating), better software almost stock android, stereo speakers (Dolby Atmos). the only thing i would say is missing from the one plus 7pro is the headphone jack.
Sorry you speaking of the One Plus 7 not the Pro?
Personally I'd go for the Zenfone 6 or Redmi K20 pro. But I'm staying with my Nex because I don't see any compelling reason to change yet.

My last note, the 9, had very poor speaker and Earpiece quality and volume. Compared to the iPhones it's a joke really. The iPhone got twice as loud as the Note 8 or 9. Yes, I know sometimes we use ear buds and headphones...
Does anyone know what the 10 sounds like? Didn't they hide the earpiece or make it significantly smaller in this new model?
I don't see any of these initial impressions or hands-on videos mentioning anything about call quality or speaker volume or anything like that.

Saw a speaker comparison and the s10 plus is just slighty louder than the note 10 plus. And my S10 plus is WAY louder than my note 9.
Note 10 plus also louder than iphone xs max although i feel the iphone had better bass (and I am saying that as someone who hates apple lol)
i also listened to my note 9 vs note 10 plus side by side in best buy and it is far superior.
Best Buy has the Note 10 on display now?
Thanks for your insight.

Hi,
I was all over ZTE when their phones had front facing speakers, but they seemed to stop doing that stand-out differentiation. How is this new phone on that front (pun intended)?

They're using the earpiece as a speaker for the stereo effect, although it is technically still stereo the top speaker is not as powerful!

Hrm, interesting. The important thing about front-facing speakers, to me, is the reproduction of high frequencies, and I don't much care about stereo effect - in fact, I turn it off in the accessibility settings. I should probably give it a try to see how it sounds.
Thanks,
Max.
Sound really sucks. The Axon 7 leaves this in the dust when it comes too sound. I was hoping for something from ZTE with as good sound quality as the 7. Unless they make some changes, this will probably be my last ZTE phone.

Agreed. The bottom firing speaker is not loud at all and is very tinny. The earpiece speaker is an absolute joke. I also had the Axon 7 and those speakers blow this phone away. That said, the speakers are about my only complaint with this phone aside from maybe lack of camera OIS.

While I totally agree this phone is pretty ordinary. Nothing about it says I have to have it. In fact, phones like the Realme X2 Pro, with a similar (actually cheaper) pricetag or the OnePlus 7T for a few bucks more, seem like better values.

True, but in the USA, most of the Realme, Redmi, Xiaomi phones don't support all the used LTE bands by my carrier (T-Mobile). The Axon 10 Pro supports every single band, including the brand new ones (66 and 71).

As long as they have at least bands 2, 4, 12 they are fully functional here in San Diego. I'm also on Tmobile.
Hi,
I've been saving to get a Mi 9T pro for quite some time... and of course now it isn't available at a reasonable price, so my eyes are on a Poco F2 Pro (i live in Europe right now).
My only requirements would be:
mandatory:
- headphone jack (check)
- Super AMOLED without bloody hole (who would do that??) (can you confirm it is a super amoled screen like mi 9T pro and Mi 9 lite, not just amoled (like Mi 9T) please?) (check i guess)
slightly less important:
- stereo speakers (not checked, i live w/o it i guess! cause in that price range i can't find anything, specially with the 2 first requirements)
- microSD slot (ok i'll plug it more often then...)
and last but not least:
- good community regarding development, tweaks, custom roms and so on => will this one be checked one day ? What do you think ? I see sources are out but missing a lot of parts... are people gonna get some enthusiasm on that phone at one point ? (so, yeah, if somebody could tell me the future ^^ and the next lottery numbers while you're at it...)
So, well, maybe I'm too demanding, what do you guys think, and is there a way to be happy with stock MIUI (debloating?) to begin with ?
Sorry if all of that was already address, I take my chances asking my concern to the community before I buy anything as it is a big expense for me.
THANKS A LOT for your time and your help
Cheers !
I would suggest getting Mi9T pro/K20 Pro or better yet get One plus 7T pro. I have K30 Pro Zoom edition and K20 Pro.
To your points:
Both have headphone jack.
Both very nice screen. K30Pro/PocoF2 Pro has bigger screen. There are reports here that the poco F2 Pro may have yellow/green tint. Mine has perfect screen no issues
Stereo has K20Pro ... sort of, if u mod it otherwise no stereo for both phones
No SD Card slot for both.
Also both have USB 2.0 speed on USB C port. Speed is around 30 MB/s
I will bet poco F2 pro will not get development community as did K20 Pro.
I use on both phones Chinese MIUI with heavy debloatet script and magisk module. I have better experience this way than any other ROM (even miui eu)
Hesitating between the OnePlus Nord and the F2 Pro too, considering the F2 is vastly superior for less than 100 bucks more. If only I had some time to get back in the dev community... Some OmniROM on this things would be nice

OnePlus Nord seems nice, but:
slighty less processing power (still a lot)
LPDDR4X RAM vs LPDDR5 (still totally fine!!)
no cooling system
no LED (lol)
no jack
no IR (^^)
but:
maybe better screen (a bit smaller though)
probably better camera (OIS)
lighter weight (but no IP and plastic design)
so that could do it...
BUT.... has a f*** hole in the screen !
Let us know if you pick one
And may the time be with you one day to build some code

Because I just read that India will not get the phone at all!
Amazing phone, but MIUI with zero custom rom development is a no-go for me.
I have the poco f2 pro and owned 2 mi9t pro before as well. The phone is not bad but not great. Have it over a month now, miui 12 was a nice improvement but I see some bugs since the update. The screen sometimes go dark and take a good few seconds to recover. Happened when using chrome or various other apps. I had to even reboot at one point because it didn't recover. I know a wipe could resolve the issue just too lazy to do it and I only see the above bug a few times.
Comparing to the mi9t pro it has much nicer features such as the harptic feedback is nicer. Camera and touch response is also better, not even mention the longer battery life. However due to the size and weight I did find the mi9t pro much more usable. I have small hand and for me does require 2 hands to operate cause I cannot reach much with one hand.
Custom rom does exist check xiaomi.eu but its very limited compare how the mi9t pro\k20 pro was. I'm not planning to mess around with roms just wanted a device which works, this doesn't really bothers me.
Is it worth it? Hmm the market is fludded with good devices, if you want a full screen display there isn't much option available, the cut out or teardrop style is more common then anything else. The answer is subjective but owning the device I may look around and chose a different one.
Since this phone will 100% sure get Android 11 , I think most logical way forward (from dev perspective) is wait for that release before doing any custom ROM. Doing it now with current release base (its buggy too) is probably waste of time.
This is not the first phone with the same situation happened before.
I own both mi9t pro 128gb and k30 pro 256gb (zoom edition) and I can certainly says it surely an upgrade especially when you do gaming often.
Im not sure about everybody else, but in my experience, mi9t pro do stutter in games from time to time which I suspect comes from thermal throttling. On the other hand, my k30 pro did not have such issue at all. Mind you, it was both on miui 12 latest stable rom.
Oh yes, plus the added benefit of getting UFS 3.1, LPDDR5, bigger battery, IR blaster, faster charging, bigger battery, latest chipset, 5G (future-proofing), and most importantly for me, the OIS on both telephoto and main camera lens enable me to take long exposure and night shot without those blurry image. 3x telephoto lens not just better in zooming but also double as macro lens with AF! I can zoom up to 30x and have a decent moon-shot, albeit not so great but still good enough. All in all, its well worth to be considered as an upgrade.
Before i forgot, yes the screen is definitely super amoled, which comes with good factory-calibration on "Standard" or "Original" mode. P3 and sRGB mode as preset are great option to have which mi9t pro really missing.

Yup. Poco f2 pro won't launch in India. They'll launch it as K30 Pro. It is because of this Covid situation that launch has been delayed. Also Xiaomi India is trying to clear their existing stocks of K20 pro before launching K30 Pro

Now POCO F2 Pro is about 300,00€ in Italy. That is a so low price for these specs (Snapdragon 865), if there are two big lack:
1. no slot card at all and
2. no development due to the fact that the source code tree is partially hidden in order to block the development.
It seems like there's a collusion between the phone house to give a price to the possibility of development.
Actually google pixel it costs much more than the value of the money suggests for its specs.
Like "future development of the phone" must be paid by the costumers. That is my paranoia. :confuso:
