You can now purchase the original bootloader unlock code for your Huawei or Honor phone, for a one-time fee of 190 USD.
Huawei stopped offering these codes to the public in July 2018, but FunkyHuawei is now able to provide them. Codes are available for even the latest Huawei / Honor phone releases.
The bootloader unlock code will allow you to unlock your bootloader and make various modifications to your phone. Codes are available for any Huawei or Honor phone, with exceptions outlined in the terms of purchase.
Yea but if you're running emui 10 you still can't root the phone even with the BL unlocked.

Yeah it's look like that !! I'm going to keep money back and watch for a Oneplus 8 pro if it doesn't move to something nice for this phone!!! In addition i'm in trouble with the last upgrade because my garmin 735 xt does not connect to my EVR AL00... That point, restriction (bootloader locked), i think no security patch(nothing for me for febuary patch ...) and no upgrade to newer version of android (and no way to get it with this bootloader locked!!!!) it's , for me, the first and maybe... the last Huawei of my life !!! For me bootloader today was "obligatory" (? i'm not sure if this word exist.... I'm sorry for my bad english) unlocked but it's appear that i was wrong...

even if they were available, let alone rooting, emui android 10 cannot have b/l unlocked. only 9/9.1 from what I have seen and experienced-my device is stuck on 10 (dload/hisuite does not work for downgrading-but issues are different as I messed up the vendor/country and device name)

This is the official FunkyHuawei support thread.
FunkyHuawei is a (mostly) paid service which allows you to do the following:
1. Install the latest system software, even before it's released by OTA.
2. Install beta/prerelease system software, without needing to be a beta tester.
3. Recover a bricked phone.
4. Rebranding / Change the region of your phone (China -> Europe, for example, to get Google and so on.)
5. Enabling dual-sim features on single-sim phones.
6. Root your EMUI 8 phone, even with stock recovery (This feature is free)
--NOTE: SOME OF THESE FEATURES NOT AVAILABLE ON P20 SERIES YET. SEE NEXT POST--
You do not need to unlock your bootloader, or void your warranty to use the service. (except the free rooting feature)
To find FunkyHuawei, please Google it. Or you can find a link to the service as well as our rebranding tool within the following XDA Portal article.
https://www.xda-developers.com/exclusive-att-huawei-mate-10-pro-firmware/
We are pleased to announce FHUnbrickFlashTool -- You can now repair any recent Huawei phone via fastboot, even if you cannot access eRecovery or boot the phone! Even if it doesn't show the Huawei logo, as long as you can get a fastboot connection to your computer, you can recover the phone! Google FHUnbrickFlashTool or check FunkyHuawei's reddit for details.
In cooperation with XDA, FunkyHuawei is offering a free credit to Recognized Developers and Recognized Contributers on XDA.
Please PM me for more details.
We will continue posting in this thread with updates regarding new software versions and releases regarding this device.
We will also be monitoring it so we can help anyone who has issues.
FunkyHuawei, due to popular request, is now offering an unlimited pass. You can break your phone all you want, and turn to FunkyHuawei to unbrick it however many times you need to. You can also install all the latest updates, beta versions, and so on, without worrying about spending credits. You can check out more details on FH's reddit or homepage.
For device-specific information, please see the next post.
Please be sure to read the terms of service as well as the instructions very thoroughly before using the tools, to understand the potential risks of using them.
FunkyHuawei can now offer bootloader unlock codes for all Huawei models (including recent models like P20, P20 Pro, Honor Play, and so on.)
These unlock codes can be provided for free to customers who purchase an unlimited pass from today.
See details from the link on the main page of the site.
P20 and P20 Pro Device Information.
Currently, here is what we support on the P20/P20 Pro series.
Installing new firmware/unbricking via eRecovery: SUPPORTED
Rebranding with unlocked bootloader: AVAILABLE NOW!
Rebranding with locked bootloader: COMING, MIGHT BE A WHILE
Unbricking from fastboot: COMING, MIGHT BE A WHILE

Those who would like to test rebranding with an unlocked bootloader before we release it, please contact us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does FunkyHuawei cost?
A: You need to buy credits on the FunkyHuawei website. The price per credit varies depending on the number of credits you buy. Different operations cost different amounts of credits. However, the Root feature of the Mate 10 tool is free, and as mentioned above, Recognized Developers/Contributors of XDA can ask for a free credit.
Q: My phone is bootloader locked, and FRP locked. My bootloader unlock code dosen't work. It won't boot. eRecovery doesn't work. Can you help?
A: Yes. With the Mate 10 this is now a common situation. Contact FunkyHuawei for help in this situation. We'll need to access your computer remotely and the procedure is a little bit complicated, but the phone can be unbricked.
Q: I can't get my bootloader unlock code/don't want to unlock my bootloader, but I want to change my phone to something other than Chinese. Can you help?
A: Yes. Our new FunkyHuawei Rebrand Tool works on recent Huawei phones (Sorry EMUI 8.1 phones not yet supported. Coming soon), to rebrand them to another region even when the bootloader is locked.
Q: I'm not seeing the latest version listed on FunkyHuawei or elsewhere as an OTA. Why not?
A: Huawei has a very odd and unpredictable way of rolling out OTA updates. You can use FunkyHuawei to install the new version immediately, or can wait for the update to be rolled out. It might be a month or more after release until the update reaches your device from Huawei directly. We have no idea why.
Q: Why isn't FunkyHuawei free?
A: Because many of FunkyHuawei's features cost FunkyHuawei money to provide. Features that don't cost FunkyHuawei money to provide, like rooting the Mate 10 or our TWRP build for Mate 9/Oreo, for example, are generally made available for free. There are also bills to pay, kids to put through school, and so on.
Q: I noticed FunkyHuawei in an XDA Portal article!
A: FunkyHuawei loves XDA, and is cooperating with them as much as possible. Recognized Developers and Contributors on the XDA forums are welcome to claim a free credit from FunkyHuawei as well.
Q: I have a different question.
A: This is what this thread is for! Post away!

Yes. But it's possible the phone has an internal secondary IMEI which it simply doesn't show on the settings. We haven't had a way of figuring out exactly how it works IMEI-wise, but both sims do work. It's been this way for generations of Huawei phones.

Going to receive my P20 Pro on Friday
Hello everyone
I got my Huawei P20 Pro 6/64 CLT-AC01 today in the mail.
It is locked to Chinese region, and doesn't has any of the gapps installed.
I looked for several hours through the forum and on Google today, and I can't find any way to flash a different region ROM to it (often referred to as Debranding)
Also, I read that Huawei canceled the option to unlock the bootloader - I tried it on several ways today and got to a 404 on the unlock page.
Could someone tell me how do I change the region of the device to a normal international one?
Thanks! Can't wait to start using this beautiful device.

Yours is uncommon one indeed. 90-99% P20 Pro out there is 6/128GB, yet you have 6/64
I talked to Huawei support in 3 countries.
They refuse to supply me with an unlock code and it looks like i'm stuck with this device
You probably got either a early test device or a fake one.

It's the Chinese P20 Pro is normal to have 64GB...
I was in the same situation, same model of phone, two weeks ago but I had luck getting the unlock code the last day. When the unlocked bootloader I could debrand the phone following the guide in this forum. As they won't give the unlock code, your only option is funky or dc-unlocker when they support the phone. Also I found an indian guy that maybe could do it, his webpage is called ministry of solutions . But I don't know if it is reliable.
Good luck

The way and the price to obtain BL code, but also the way how to rebrand HEAVILY depend on what is your current EMUI version.
(,If you don't care about that and just follow some YT guide, you can brick the phone)
So, what is exactly
- EMUI version in Settings/System/About
- also from Settings/System/About, what is the month and year of the Security patch
See the attach

Unfortunately, you are not on Nougat or Oreo 6/2018 or older to make things cheaper and easier
See this answer (yesterday, last in the thread):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...e-firmware-versions-gpu-t3917826/post80486637
If you go with their Telegram group service (cca 30 EU), you should ask them to rebrand - IMO, they will do it (they have to flash some firmware upon erasing by Testpoints, anyway).
They flash remotely, you have to provide TeamViewer connection
If you go for your own (also by Testpoints) you will have to use (VM and) Linux, you will have to find (maybe pay for some) drivers and board firmware.
Shortly: you would have to downgrade to eg Nougat as described there, then to buy BL code for 4 EU from DC Phoenix, then to rebrand (there is an older thread here on XDA about rebranding Mate 9 with Nougat or Oreo Sec Patch 6/2018 or older), and finally to upgrade back to Pie
If you search for Ministry of Solutions, they can do the same/similar thing for you (requiring also to open the phone and use Testpoints, and TeamViewer) but they will ask more, about 45 EU
You could also search and explore Chimera and FunkyHuawei services, but AFAIK, they will cost even more.
With Chimera, you would not even have Bootloader code at the end to reuse, if ever needed

Got that update two weeks ago, no idea what it did.
I decided I would like to. Make a petition about terrible support for custom Rom community on Huawei devices. It's not the support itself, it is Huawei (how we all know) you know it sucks when you get an amazing deal on eBay for an p20 pro in this case and it turns out to be a demo model and you can't use it properly. Normally you as a member of the custom Rom community would unlock it and flahs latest official software on it, well not on a Huawei device, because they shut down their official unlock service quite some time ago, but I think this needs to stop. That's why I created a petition for unlocking Huawei phones officially (or whilst this isn't my goal, someone telling on how the read the code manually, but I prefer an official unlock)
http://chng.it/NW5vbSJ8
Yes, I published this once already but... It got removed I think... Never got an response
Why not just use the dload method to flash the last firmware? No need to unlock.
Huawei wants its own echosystem, unless locked bootloader affect its profit seriously, Huawei won't think bit of the choice at all. So I don't think Huawei would care about your petition.
And, after buying P20 Pro, I say thousands times of 'good bey' to Huawei.

Yeah, I would try the dlaod method via USB OTG. Huawei is not going to unlock their bootloaders because of a petition. There are larger issues that motivate them to keep it locked.
Best petition, stop buying their bootloader locked devices.
