Question [Q] How do i unlock bootloader on Nokia 2.2 - Nokia 2.2

Please help me to unlock bootloader on this phone please.
When i do fastboot oem unlock it just returns
Unlock operation is not allowed.
This is my first thread please help.

I need help with that too.

I can't post it bcuz if it gets widely spread, they'll patch it. If they haven't already. I can however tell you where to go. Search on Reddit, you'll find it in no time. At least, that's where I found it. You have to search deep, but you'll find it.

Maybe we have to contact Nokia itself? Can you send them message on Instagram or Facebook?

I have kind of the same problem (I just want to root the Nokia 2.2), and I've just seen this announcement on this forum, from Oct 13 2020: "Official LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10 is here for the Nokia 6.1"
It says that "HMD Global’s Nokia is known for offering a clean stock Android experience on its devices and the stock Android One ROM on the Nokia 6.1 is no different. The OEM, however, cracks down on the ability to modify the software on their devices, which means there is no simple way you can unlock the bootloader of your Nokia phone and install a custom recovery like TWRP, root, and flash custom ROMs (either in the form of GSIs or device-specific ROMs)."
From this it would seem that is actually impossible to root and / or unlock the bootloader of any HMD Global’s Nokia phone (like the 2.2, 6.1, or any other). Is this really the case?

Which Smartphones have Unlockable Bootloader & Can be rooted?

Post amended for better notability:
According to Sir Zelendel's recommendations and this website's list of top smartphones, I have the four products to choose the refurbished/pre-used smartphones from:
Google Pixel
Samsung Galaxy
One Plus
Honor

So my next query is:
Can the earlier editions/versions of these products also have their bootloaders unlocked/re-locked and be rooted/unrooted?
The explanation behind my brief query in details:
I have assimilated what my teacher here has advised.
I decided that I will buy a 2nd hand, Out-Of-Warranty smartphone for regular use and all sorts of experimentation.
I have been perusing the forum threads. I then searched the forum threads via Google (I know how to ) for better results . Appears that I have found some encouraging posts.

The problem is that people don't leave proper information about whether their problem was solved. This creates problems for the newcomers. They dont have enough guidance.

Skimmed them. A few of them look encouraging. Will take some time to assimilate
I also found that the forum lists the following as the top SmPh:
Samsung Galaxy S9
One Plus 5T
Google Pixel 2
One Plus 5
Samsung Galaxy S8+
I assume that these mobiles can have their bootloader unlocked as well as the OS rooted?
I remember from my earlier lesson that Honor and One Plus 5T are definitely compatible with my plan to experiment.
Since these are new arrivals in the market, I might not find a 2nd hand SmPh from these said models.
So based on your vast experience, please feel free to advise me to go ahead and buy a SmPh in which I could exercise either of the two options: unlock the bootloader and root/unroot the OS.

Just a little clearification. All devices come locked when you open the box. Unlocking the bootloader and rooting it are allowed on those devices and on the One plus devices it doesnt void your warranty. Unlocking and rooting are really easy. a couple of PC commands, and one zip flash and boom you are unlocked and rooted.
Thank you, Sir.
But can those smartphones, that can easily be unrooted and their bootloaders, unlocked, be again re-rooted and bootloaders, locked, after necessary amendments, respectively?
After I have bought one of these devices I shall proceed to seek advice on how to do these.
In the meanwhile, and needless to say, I shall also search the forum posts using Google, for further info.
Thank you, Sir, for replying to the post.

Yes removing root is as simple as flashing a stock rom and then relocking the bootloader with one PC command.
If you have Firefox on PC you can use the XDA search plug in. It is far better then the built in search.

Not all devices can have an unlocked bootloader. The vast majority cant. I have never even heard of that device so I cant say for sure. But is you cant unlock the bootloader with the switch in developer settings and the PC command then you may have a device that you cant unlock the bootloader on.

Yes, Sir. In Linux it is very simple, almost a no-brainer. But I don't know why the Android programmers have made the issue complicated.

In Linux you don't really remove root access. It is still there in the system. Not so on Android due to it being turned off in the kernel and having no built in UI.

This part I don't really understand because of my lack of experience with android.
I am studying android-x86, but I am not making much of a headway.
I would really want to know as to how is it turned off in the Kernel. Which portions of the kernels are removed, or hashed/silenced.

Realme 1 will get Android P{Confirmed}

Rejoice realme users.Your beloved device will get the Android P update.

Update:Now it has been confirmed by the company directly.

Im eager to buy Realme 1 but ColorOS is blocking me!

If Oppo doesn't Provide the Unlocking Code or Support Fastboot Binaries, then it would only depend on some Tricks or Any Loopholes that would do the same.
Lets take the Eg. Of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 , it has got bootloader unlocked and within a month Custom Roms have started to come up.
Now lets take the Other Eg. Motorola Droid Turbo (Int. Version of Moto Turbo which i was using in 2015) it doesnt have Unlockable bootloader , but within 1 year developers have successfully Unlocked the Phone!
And another, Droid Turbo 2 (Int. Version Of Moto X Force which im using now) it also had unlockable bootloader , and its going to be 2years but till now People are unsuccessful for getting Root/Unlocking due to the fix in Loophole.
So if Oppo is Not Providing the Unlocking Code or It doesn't Support Unlocking (as far as i know now) its not to be correct to assume it would get rooted/unlocked but can only hope for good.
Realme 1 has mediatek P60 AI chipset. Also Android 8 doesn't support AI feature but Android 9 (Android P) does. ColorOs 5 is supported and powered of AI feature like Battery, Camera, etc. Maybe Company push stock Android. But isn't bad ColorOS.

I think its never gonna happen! Its like Same, Mi rolling out Stock Android 8.0 insted of MIUI 10 or Honor rolling Stock Android 8.1 insted of EMUI!
I didnt used colorOS or any oppo phone before but MIUI,EMUI,UX5.0,Touchwizz... and i didnt keep up with them especially with MIUI and EMUI!
I keep Moto as my primary device (since 2013) due to stock android and simple interface.
ColorOS wouldn't be the deal breaker for the most but for some (like me) its making me think twice before buying

The phone is running on 8.1 Oreo, that means it has project treble support, so there will be no issues in unlocking the bootloader and developing a rom for the Realme 1. Just have a little patience.

Project treble means to have separate Vendor partition , so that GSI can be boot without compiling a seperate rom with a specific vendor tree. But it dosent mean treble=unlocking

Yeah, but it's a little less difficult for the developers to unlock the phone. I think you know that starting with Android 8.x (Oreo), Google separated the Vendor and Manufacturer. That means the OS can be updated without having to touch the vendor implementation. Before project treble, The Vendors have to wait for the Unlock Code from the manufacturer which was very lengthy and delaying process, at least project treble solves this issue.

Only Manufacturers signed images can be flashed with locked bootloader , so if you are planning to boot a LOS GSI you will need a Unlocked bootloader , and by no way you can sign a image as same as manufacturer so jt will fail, as far as unlocking is concerned its in the hand of oppo only bcoz i heard that oppo deleted the fastboot binaries of the phone and to unlock the bootloader ,there must be a loophole or some think which can be exploited otherwise it would suffer the same fate as droid turbo 2. In future what happens i/we dont know but till now its correct to assume that phone is unlockable bcoz oppo is not supporting bootloader unlocking
Here, look at this,
There's an option to allow permissions for unlocking Bootloader, so i think in future maybe Oppo will allow modifications.

Can I root with a locked bootloader

It's been a long time since I've been online(Samsung note3 lumia 950xl and back to note3) but now I'm back coz of the mate 9 I've got from my wife.
Question seen as above I'm on android 8.0, i think with a locked bootloader.
Reading all sorts of stuff that scars me.
Can this phone be rooted and custom rom(med?) , simple yes or no... But if there is a yes.... Please paste a video link(I'm better in watching and listening then reading) or past xda link.
No matter the answer still thanks in advance greats mike
Did you get the unlock bootloader code by July? No? Then no. (or read this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/development/unlock-bootloader-t3869735 )
Sorry for my late reply, a to bad but also a shame so that the future no other phones of the brands can be flashed.

There is a possible workaround which I did yesterday(1/21/2019).
First, I had upgraded version of Android 8.0 (MHA-L29 8.0.0.375(C567)(Stock Official) and possible obtain the bootloader code when I start this process.
Here is what I did.
1. Downgrade to Android 7.0(EMUI 5.0) by using Huawei's HiSuite software
Click "Update" and select earlier version.
Current : MHA-L29 8.0.0.375(C567)(Official)
Earlier : MHA-L29C567B190(Official) | 2.45GB | Android 7.0(EMUI 5.0)
2. Using 3rd Party tool/service(about $5), I was able to get the bootloader code
In my case, I used DC-Unlocker tool(FREE) and purchasing 4 credits($4.71).
With the bootloader code, you can move to the next steps(root, custom ROMs, etc...)
Hope it helps!

[URGENT ANSWER NEEDED] Are the methods mentioned here legit or are they scams/malware/virus?

I know that using unofficial ROMs and firmware is always risky, but I'm wondering if this is legit. I want to update my Vivo Y51A (unsupported) to at least Android 8 (Oreo), and this website claims to have all the supplies needed for that, but would they actually work?
How to flash Vivo Y51A. Update to Android 9Pie, 10 Q, 11 | Guideroot
Download firmware for Vivo Y51A. Updating smartphone firmware to Android 10 Q

Edit: So it seems that the rooting apps suggested could be dubious. What alternatives (noob-friendly and free) can I use instead, if the rest of this is legit?
Thank you in advance!
Note: I am a noob, please make your answer noob-friendly

Hopefully someone here knows about this variant or has a better plan for you.
My POV: rooting a phone or replacing the stock rom with a custom rom has become a pointless popular sport. At the end of the day, no better device comes out than the one you bought.
To be on the safe side only use rooting tools / custom recoveries / custom ROMs authored by non-chinese people and introduced and provided here on XDA.

I know you people are modding enthusiasts but sorry to let you down. Iqoo feels like it's similar to apple. It doesn't allow bootloader unlocking. You may see bootloader unlocking option in developer menu but it's just redundant. Iqoo and most Vivo phones doesn't support bootloader unlocking. So please don't waste your time searching for this. Take a look in the Vivo x70 pro plus forum, they already unlocked serval devices and I also saw iqoo 7 in the list.
I will try this also on my Iqoo7. Step by step procedure will coming soon.
