Eonon/Klyde unit is not starting - MTCD Software Development

Hello,
After a failed update my unit is not starting, is a px5 unit with hal9k installed.
Recovery v8.0.6 , error: E: can't mount /cache/recovery/last_locale, and rebooting in loop
Is possible to recover unit somewhere?
I try to create with SD_Firmware_Tool a card to boot unit from GPS card, but everytime when card is inserted is entering in some test mode unit, like card is not correct.
With same tool when I choose sdboot, card is created, unit booting, but recovery is old v6.
In the end there is a way to rewrite recovery, and after that to install some firmware?, stock was android 8.
I do not want to open unit and solder cables until to end all resources.

Try another MicroSD.
After creating the card, you have to overwrite the sdupdate.img file with the right one.

Sure I was overwrite sdupdate.img, I tryed with 4,6,8 Gb card, many times, with recovery for android 9, 8 also, unit is booting in test mode always.
Ok maiYe cards are not ok, I will search for some 2GB cards.

I just try with another 2x2GB and 4 GB card, using Hal9k_Mod_3.x_upgrade_to_Android_8.0 , run with administrator, and replacing sdupdate.img for each card,...I don't think that is something wrong until here,...maybe unit is not compatible with this cards?

Hmmm... I don't know ?*
The easiest way is to use Modinstaller Pro.

Cannot use Modinstaller, is not booting old install.
Picture attached with chineste test.
Picture with error now on device.
Picture with a card made with recovery 6, from where I can do some update, but what images (recovery,firmware) to get?

No, Modinstaller is not the same as Modinstaller Pro.
Here's my video for Modinstaller Pro.
https://youtu.be/X0qsmwnaQA8
The chinese test came from your MicroSD. Eject the card, the chinese test will not appear anymore.

To be clear, cannot install Modinstaller or Modinstaller Pro (nothing with apk ) i know that is different, i cannot boot into Android.
That card is created with SD_Firmware_Tool.exe to boot from, why to remove? the idea was to install new recovery, but my unit is not booting that card, question is why?
On picture 3 I have a card created with option sd boot not firmware update, and unit is booting, but with v6 recovery, from here I can write some other firmware?, recover my unit?

With recovery 6.1.2 you can install a Android 6 Rom.
https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr/RockChip PX5 Android 6.1/MX/update
Take the newest
Download archiv, extract Update.img, copy on a Fat32 formatted usb drive, choose apply update system image (I'm not sure, maybe package).
From there you can use Modinstaller Pro to update to 8 or 9 with USB.

I recover unit, now I have android 6, I will read if Modinstaller Pro can do upgrade from 6 to 9, and I will update.
Thanks, I was sure that with boot sd card can repair, is curious why I can boot unit only with sdboot checked not with firmware upgrade, card is created ok but enter in test mode always.

Hi, can you tell me the steps you followed to install android 6 along with recovery. I am in a similar situation on a px5 gs device from xtrons.
Thank you

Boot from sdcard

Solved. Needed a 32 bit Windows to be able to make a bootable card.
1. My Flytouch II/Wowpad refuses to boot from the sdcard.
I am using the correct slot, the card is bootable, but no way.
Anything I forgot ?
2. I can use the recovery console to upgrade, but that requires an update.zip version.
I got the android files for the 3245 build, but how can I convert these 5 .img files into an update.zip version ?
Thanks, Wolfgang

[Q] Can anyone boot any Smartphone from the external SD Card?

These are my current problems:
1) I lost my Galaxy S3 overboard!
2) I had not made a backup because I detest Kies. Kies crippled my PC performance and hid my backed up (*.sbu) files from the PC file system.
3) I want to avoid the use of all proprietary software on my PC in order to manage my backups (including OS backups).
Proposed solution:
1) Buy a replacement Smartphone (a Galaxy S4?) which has an external SD Card slot.
2) Flash a custom bootloader with complete Backup / Restore functionality.
3) Backup Function: A complete phone Backup, (i.e. OS, Apps, Data and MyFiles), is made to a new folder in the root of the external SD Card. I can give this folder any name, e.g. “OriginalPhone” or “2013-04-21” etc.
4) A single file in the root of the external SD Card called “current.txt” contains a single folder name - that of the default folder for booting, e.g. “2013-04-21”.
5) Normal Booting uses the files originating from the folder specified in “current.txt”.
6) If there is no change detected in the boot files of the “current” boot folder, the phone boots “normally” from the OS copy in NAND flash if this results in a quicker boot than booting directly from the external SD card.
7) Booting with a combination of keys enables the Bootloader Restore function which allows the user to choose the boot folder to restore from.
8) I can use my PC file manager to manage all OS and data files for archive, backup and restore purposes. I will not need to use any proprietary software!
9) If I lose my phone again, I simply buy the same model as a replacement, change the bootloader, copy my most recent backup folder from my PC to a new SD card, insert the new SD card into the phone, and restore my "complete phone".
Can anyone help me to create a custom bootloader with complete Backup / Restore functionality that can boot any Smartphone from the external SD Card? Thanks in advance!

Hello
It is the second time, I buy a Smartphone and after the garanty time (1 month after it due to software error my smartphone doesn't work anymore.)
I have bougth a honor 7 premium. During installation process may be due to obsolesence programmed or battery low during loading, it stucked I think in boatloader /EMUI (emui install failed error). the honor image stays and also after wipe cash partition and wipe to factory reset, it doesn't start.
I would like to start and if possible flash a new android SW on the honor 7 to be able to connect to it.
Actually I can not connect it with the PC. It is not visible.
Is it possible? Do you have any boot SW I can put on SD card. It would be very helpful.
My wife needs his mobile before leaving for 3 weeks on monday.
Feedback would be very greatfull
thanks in advance

Micro SD Card no longer recognized issue ....

Ok, I have searched high and low to try and solve this issue without having to post it on the forums. There are several old threads about the Micro SD having issues here, and many many more across the net. At any rate let me start from the beginning.
So, I decided to root my stock tf300t and try the KatKiss 6.0 rom. Micro SD working excellent at this time. I also installed TWRP recovery image 3.0.2.0. Then for some simple reason ( read it somewhere) I dropped back to TWRP 2.5 and Micro SD still working excellent at this time. So, everything is great up to now.
I had found out that I had not formatted to f2fs and somehow with my big hand while doing so on the bootloader screen my pinky brushed the wipe data button. Yep, I lost it all and was stuck in the splash screen or TWRP 2.5 If I booted to recovery. My Micro SD and my TF300T's system files (all of them) showed 0mbs across the board. My file partitions were a mess to say the least. --- I posted about it in another thread.
Finally with the help of forum member gs-crash-24-7 I was able to flash the factory rom back to my TF300T and got my tablet back, with the exception of the fact my Micro SD no longer shows in my Tablet or on my pc when plugged in via the data cable. Now when placed in a card reader on the pc all my files were shown on the MicroSD< so I saved them elsewhere and using SDFormatter did a complete format and complete overwrite. (currently in fat32 mode - but have tried them all) Put a file on it and the pc reads it like a charm.
So, I went installed KatKiss 6.0 again in hopes the MicroSD would magically show up, also installed Kang TWRP 2.8.7.2, pico gapps, and supersu 2.52 to gain root access. But to no avail, I still have a Micro SD card that works great in my Galaxy S5, TF101, and my pc. I tried several different Micro Sd Cards as well, from a 128mb to 8gb one, which is the card I use in the Tf300T.
Ok, throughout my search of the net I found a similar issue that had been solved by adding a few lines of code to their phones permissions/platform.xml file. I have not tried this (honestly it was late and I forgot to bookmark where it was posted. lol Anyway, I did however go into my platform.xml file and did not find very much code in there at all and nothing mentioning External Storage R/RW etc etc ..... so Now I am wondering if I should revert back to JB 4.2.1 and start over in hopes it will restore my files and Micro SD. what are your opinions????? Open to suggestions.
Or if someone who has an Asus TF300T with a custom rom or factory rom (with a working MicroSD, could possibly take a look at their Platform.xml file and see if what is mentioned in it about External Storage etc .... I really feel like something somewhere that got deleted/wiped was not rewritten during the unbricking of my TF300T.
I Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions you may have to offer.
Flash back to stock 4.2.1 JB and still the card does not show up when inserted.
If I add the following lines into my system/etc/permissions/platform.xml file do you think it would bring back the ability to see my External Micro SD?
Code:
<permission name="android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >
<group gid="sdcard_r" />
</permission>
<permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >
<group gid="sdcard_r" />
<group gid="sdcard_rw" />
<group gid="media_rw" />
</permission>
<permission name="android.permission.ACCESS_ALL_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >
<group gid="sdcard_r" />
<group gid="sdcard_rw" />
<group gid="sdcard_all" />
</permission>
Anyone ever try this?
BTW, my Micro Sd was working just fine in the tablet until the accidental data wipe. I am stuck here, I would really like to get the ability to use the Micro SD card/cards again.
Thank you in advance.

It seems there is an unknown issue remaining after things you have done in the past. Please start your TWRP and "Format /Data". It may take one hour plus. Wait patiently until it finishes. After that your system is clean. So you can clean install the ROM of your choice. Simply follow the install instruction given by Timduru carefully!!! Finally the SD card issue should be solved.
Thanks will give it another try.
Several attempts at this using the latest stock rom and my own twrp backup (from when the sd card was showing up) and still not showing up. Tried to change files system in twrp and got this e:block device not present, cannot wipe ext_sdcard .... only close reference I found so far was in the following thread and according to post #16 my sd card partitions are not correct???
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tr...kang-twrp-tf700t-2-8-x-xarea51-t3049395/page2
also, according to twrp manager:
Storage Info
External SD Location
/Removable/MicroSD
But of course it does not show up in file manager. Thoughts?

This thread deals with Data2SD. That's not your problem. The SD card should be FAT32.
However what's the result of Format /Data? Has it been accomplished successfully? Does your TWRP finally show the external SD card?
No, I have yet to get it to show any SD from 128mb to my 8gb card, I have tried them all. The card is formatted in fat32 (I have tried all formats though). The only time TWRP seems to see it is if I want to fix or change the file system, (now when I was in twrp 3.0.2.0 was the last time it worked) TWRP shows it as vfat. If I try to change it I get the error string below (red text).
All of this started when I corrupted the partitions in the tablet and had to flash a factory rom on to get it going again. Since then no SD card, well actually no SD card while it was corrupted either only before the mess I made.
I feel confident that the SD card issue has something to do with where it's actual path or permission might be placed or written. As the card works excellent in my galaxy s5 and Tf101 and Windows. just not the tf300t. Attached several images maybe one of them will give a clue. Keep in mind under mount, when I choose the Ext SD it just greys out and will not accept a check mark for selection, same when I choose where I want to install a file from.
Again thank you for your help.
Well I have tried going back to the latest stock rom and now I am flashed to the latest KatKiss 7.1, but still no luck. is it possible that somehow when I messed up my file partitions that it, that they just will not clear up completely for some reason? Grasping here I know.
This happened to me and I am still currently dealing with this. I believed that there is a problem with that device recognizing the SD card, as in the card is not making contact with the device. The SD card comes up as corrupted when the ROM is running. I had to side load the last few time through TWRP to get a new ROM flashed because I wiped everything. On this last try I was able to get the device to recolonize the SD card by pushing and hold the SD card all the way in and holding it there for the duration of the flash. I went through all the same as you did including flashing back to stock. Sorry you are dealing with this.
Thanks, I will give that a try also when I load my next rom.

Tried the hold the Micro SD card in deal, didn't work for me.
So now I am currently on a clean install of KatKiss 6.0 with same results. Micro SD card not being recognized.
My install process:
Wiped everything then formatted data
Even fastboot erased everything again just in case via fastboot:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase misc
fastboot erase cache
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot bootloader
Flashed KANG TWRP 2.8.7.2
Wiped davlik and cache, then changed data to F2FS file system
Rebooted to Bootloader then entered RCK / KANG TWRP where I did a TWRP BACKUP (it will not backup I know this) so I would have the TWRP folder it would create, so I could load my zips etc, once I was no longer in fastboot. Once in Twrp, you can see internal files then like the TWRP folder, where transferred my zips via the pc to. (now I have a place to load them from)
Loaded the Micro SD just in case with my zip files and also copied them from my pc to the TWRP folder in tablets internal storage.
disconnected from pc and loaded MicroSD into tablet slot.
rebooted into recovery (TWRP still would not load Micro SD ... so plan b) from internal storage via the TWRP folder that was created I flashed all my zip files together:
Flash KatKiss 6.0 rom
Flash the SuperSU 2.52 zip
Flash gapps nano
Wipe cache/dalvik
Reboot
Everything was done per Timduru's instructions, except where I had to load my files via the internal TWRP folder, and I use the Nano gapps over the pico. Also, one tablet reboots to the system i updated the SuperSu Binary.
Some of the Erasing was probably overkill, but I was trying to clean as much as I could in hope my Micro SD would show back up.
Tablet is working fine, in fact very fluid and speedy. I just do not have access to my Micro SD card, except via a usb adapter when used on the pc, which does me no good lol.
At any rate If you do not have a Micro SD card, maybe my process will help someone do a clean install at least.
I hope a solution appears. I just upgraded from cyanogenmod 4.4 to katkiss 6.0 today, and have the same problem . microsd was there for the install, but after booting, ES file explorer doesn't see it. Can see the usb drive plugged into keyboard, but not microsd. frustrating. was thinking of trying to reflash everything but what I am reading in this thread, it seems like that won't help. (btw, there was also issue of tf300 not rooted after install. I reflashed superSU, and after a few reboots and attempted binary updates, suddenly root appeared. I don't know really what fixed it)

What version of TWRP are you running? .... I also had a problem at first with root, but none since and I have flashed every katkiss rom and my back up of JB 4.2.1 and even the fresh stock Asus JB rom with no success as of yet. But I have yet to stop messing with it, going to keep on til I break it, fix it or possibly shoot it. lol
Also, mine still does not work at this time. I actually went online with lj50036 and went through lots of force load commands etc etc and it still never showed up. Crazy thing was at one point it was showing I has 2 Internal Storage folders both with the exact same file size and files within it. I suppose there is a possibility that the card slot stopped functioning in my tablet, but I just keep coming back to my original issue before the card disappeared (corrupted file partitions). I don't know why, but I just feel something somewhere is still fubarred with the file partitions dealing with external storage. Plus with all the research I have done on the issue and such close to it, there seems to be an issue with happening with many devices and custom roms and recovery.
I wish you luck and if I do find a solution I will most definitely post it here.
Issue solved:
Turns out one of the SD Slot connecting pins was broken in the back of the card slot. Oh well, at least it's a 32gb tablet.
Many thanks goes out to Josh lj50036 and the others who tried helping me.
I installed (4 th install, 3 with 6.1) kat kiss naugetella, 7.1. microsd card is now seen. I have no idea what was different about this install other than the 7.1 and different supersu, version 2.79.
still not having keyboard recognized during sleep. previously I could wake the tablet by hitting the keyboard sleep key. No more. have to use the tablet power button.

PX5 - Can't install Malaysk's ROM

I want to replace the current ROM on my device with Malaysk's ROM. I have attached some photos of my system information menu for more information.
I wanted to install the 8.0 one (https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-malaysk-roms-px5-2-4-gb-8-0-android-t3762724) but I can't get my headunit to boot off of the SD card. I tried several SD cards, both SD slots on the front, and a couple of different methods to make them bootable, but nothing works. When reset, the unit boots for a while and eventually goes into the current OS.
So, I decided to try the 6.0 one (https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...lopment/rom-malaysk-roms-mtcd-device-t3598908). This one at least has easier instructions, but when I tap "System updates" in the about menu, nothing happens at all. I can see that the SD card is detected and I can even browse the files and see the update image, so I know that part works at least.
Is there a better way to get malaysk onto my unit? I can access system recovery and I am familiar with using it, is there a way to use that instead?
Sorry Didn't mean to post in your thread, meant to post a new topic

There are two important requirements for installing. First a GPS sd card slot and secondly a way to get into recovery. Did you check your system for these requirements?
Did you prepare both sd cards as described in the installation? Did you use the tool for creating the first sd card? Did you replace the image as described?

Huawei Mate 8 - System deleted

Hello,
Bevore I start: Please excuse the bad english.
A while ago I rooted my Huawei Mate 8 (Android 7, Emui 5) and installed root.
After a few months I tried to factory reset the phone. But instead of factory resetting I deleted the complete system.
After this I tried to recover the system (twrp) but I didn't manage it. Then i tried to recover via Huawei and it said that I unlocked the bootloader/installed root and they can't recover.
After that I was so "smart". I uninstalled root and relocked the bootloader.
Do I have any chance to recocover the system or do I have to throw it away?
Thank you in advance:

Hi there, do you know which brand is your device? Is it Chinese version, or international version? Trust me, my device was bricked multiple times, and I was always able to recover it.
Share the info I asked for and I might be able to give you some tips on how to recover it.

Hi,
I have the international version of the mate 8. (NXT-L29C432B582; FRP Lock; Bootloader relocked)
Thank you for dealing with my problem.
Got almost same problem. I've got C432B581 version.
I got nothing but TWRP now.
Can you tell me how to install clean system version step by step?
All right, both of you can use the below method, if done correctly, you should be up and running in a short time.
Read, and follow the instructions carefully. The operation consists in downgrading and rolling back your OS to Android 6. Do not worry, once rolled back to 6, your device will still get prompts to update and you can upgrade to Nougat if you want.
First thing first: open this pdf link which includes the instructions: https://bit.ly/2KYAEhS
Second: download the rolling pkg NXT-L29_from Android 7.0_EMUI 5.0_to Android 6.0_EMUI 4.0_C900B500: https://bit.ly/2GUtI2X
Third: Download NXT-L29C432B192 version here: https://bit.ly/2JcxJ8a
Now, I am sure you are unable to mount and access the Micro SD card by plugging the phone on your computer. So your alternative would be either to mount the SD card directly in your computer if your computer has a Micro SD slot, or use another cell phone that can be mounted, insert the micro SD card in order to transfer the first file.
Mount the Micro SD card and look in the rood of the SD card for ''dload'' folder without quotes, if you are unable to find the folder, simply create one
The 2 files are in zip format so you have to unzip them. Start with the first file, the rolling pkg. Extract ''update. app'' to your computer first and then move it under the ''dload'' folder in your Micro SD card.
Now the fun part can start and hopefully your phone will revive from the dead
With the phone powered off Press and hold simultaneously the power button, and volume up and down buttons, this will force the phone to enter in update mode. You can let go off the buttons once the update start.
These instructions and a couple of other ones are in pdf file. Read and follow carefully and you should be good to go.
Good luck!

Guys, once you install the rollback package, you still have to move the ''update.app'' file you extracted from the second file, put it into the ''dload'' folder and perform a force update again

Hi.
Just unlock the bootloader and install TWRP then diwnload full package ROM(zip file) and flash it by using TWRP.
It will install the ROM again and will fix it.

"FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.015s"[/QUOTE]
Hi.
for unlocking the bootloader, you must check "OEM unlocking" in developer option.
check it and try again.

Good luck!
