Converted TMobile to International Firmware Question - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

If I have a oneplus 7 pro (tmobile, flashed to international stock 9) am I able to use the latest international firmware flasher to wipe the phone and go straight to 10.3?
this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/op7pro-collection-unbrick-tools-t3956595
I'm on 9.5.11 GM21AA and I've had the upgrade nag screen showing for what feels like forever now and I guess im ready to update, but I really like clean upgrades instead of just flashing ontop of whats already there to update.

I think you have to use beta 3 to unlock the phone (oem unlock), unless that doesn't matter to you

Dumb question. Whats beta 3? and does it matter that I already have the device OEM unlocked? ...or wait..that gets re-locked when you use these tools doesnt it?

Need to sim unlock it. Bootloader unlock it. Flash international firmware via fastboot. I have the same phone and the 7t. Same process when it's T-Mobile.

Installed wrong version

I'm in a Verizon pixel and installed "v" version instead of "u" everything is working. What's different about the international version?
Just a fix for European carriers. I'm using the same on Verizon as well with no issues. You're good.

Nothing it will work just fine. From what I understand just a slight difference for Europe. It will be fine.
What I'd like to know is if I were completely stock on V, bootloader relocked, what updates would I get, if any? Would I get the next version for Europe, or would it be the other? I'm in the US on Verizon (device from Google).

You probably wouldn't get any updates. The trigger for that version probably wouldn't get to you. But I am not certain on that. Might be able to pull it via wifi with no SIM in it.
Do NOT relock your bootloader unless it is just before you are going to put it in a box to send back for warranty.

Why would you think you'd get the European version if you are in the US? Did I miss something in your question? You'd get the U version if you're on Verizon and you can lock and relock the bootloader at your discretion since you have the Google Pixel. I mean if you want to keep wiping your data each time, that is.

He made it sound like his pixel is from Verizon. In that case he can't lock and unlock the bootloader whenever he wants.
To the OP. What are you trying to do? It doesn't matter if you are on V. If it makes you feel better just flash U then. As long as you don't have twrp or root you will still get OTAs. Why would you want to lock your bootloader? You can have an unlocked bootloader and still take normal OTAs just fine . it its a Verizon sold pixel you won't be able to unlock once you lock.

It was certainly a little bit confusing, however, the last part of his post it said.. (device from Google) so I figured it was a GPixel activated on Verizon.

Buying Verizon Pixel, have some questions

Hello guys.
I'm going to buy used and bootloader unlocked Verizon Pixel tomorrow and I'm interested in couple of things:
1. Can I flash all the ROMs that are available for Pixel on Verizon version too?
2. Can I properly install TWRP, root using Magisk, etc?
3. Can I properly flash (and downgrade if needed) official system images (and are they ever available for Verizon models?)
4. Can I take part in Android Beta program?
5. Is there anything I should be afraid of?
Thanks in advance.
Make sure it is bootloader unlocked, and not just SIM unlocked. There are not many VZ ones around that are bootloader unlocked. You need that to do the items on you list.

As I already stated, bootloader is already unlocked.
No one has an answer?
If it's bootloader u locked then yeah u can do all those things. Just do not ever for any reason ever relock the bootloader. Also I believe there have been a few cases where ppl have had semibricks or other issues which required locked stock to fix or somehow resulted in locked stock
I got a replacement about a month ago on my small Pixel and that one was unlocked. However, the one I got from Verizon in store did not have an unlocked bootloader. I'm not sure what the deal is, but maybe getting a replacement from an "accidental" break might do the trick. just to clarify, my first Pixels' usb port got completely fried and started to smell bad whenever it charged, and the phone would get really hot. I am now on 8.1 with an unlocked bootloader but have yet to actually root the phone

^This. You need to sim unlock before converting to international, or you will be unable to unlock the bootloader and have OEM unlocking. At least until they fix the MSM to be able to skip sim unlocking.

Yes, you can try it that way. If the device is already fully paid off you can also simply contact Tmobile and they will be able to sim unlock it for you already as well, or if you haven't paid off and want to chance it, you can try contacting them on twitter or through the tmobile app and try to get the customer service rep to unlock it. Though if you haven't paid it off it's probably easier and faster to DM the OP from that thread.

I have the international version and am also stuck with the greyed out OEM Unlocking option. My bootloader is also still locked. Any help would be very much appreciated. I have tried using fastboot to oem unlock but I get this error
FAILED (remote: Please enable OEM unlocking in developer options first)
finished. total time: 0.007s
It was on a Chinese ROM before and I did use https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/Fulldowngrade_wipe_18821_190425_0253_user_fix_revision_MP_release.zip to downgrade so I could switch to the English ROM.
I also have a one plus 7 pro. It has been carrier unlocked but still the OEM unlock is greyed out. It is running Android 10. Is there a way to 'ungrey' the OEM unlock option? Thx
Do a search for this "The T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro’s bootloader can be unlocked by flashing Android Q" and fallow the instructions. Instruction are on xda.
There is no need to unlock the sim on the T-Mobile phone to unlock the bootloader.
Phone needs to be on the international firmware. This can be done with the patched msm tool. Then downgrade to android development preview 3 using local upgrade on phone. Unlock via fastboot and finally root and install a working rom or do the rollback to android p via local upgrade. Search for the guide and fallow the instructions. It really simple.
Kind of related. I converted my t mobile oneplus 7 pro to the international version and am eligible for a sim unlock. I tried to do it over chat but they said since it's not their version of android I would have to do a factory reset (which wouldn't convert it back to t-mobile stock) in order to sim unlock it, does anyone know how to sim unlock it on the international version with t-mobiles help. I would have thought t-mobile could just do it on their end but I guess not, and I guess they are kind of idiots over there to, because initially they had no idea what i meant when i said i converted it to the international version (heck they still didn't understand that I changed the firmware/ROM) so resetting it wouldn't make it a t-mobile phone again.

I just realized that when I boot up the phone, it shows the "Redmi by Xiaomi" and below it says unlocked, (IDK if it has any relation). But the Developer options say that BL is locked and OEM Unlocking can be enabled. What does this mean?
This is same with me miui 11 stockrom
Magisk flashing creats bootloader locked
If i uninstall magisk it show unlocked again
Even Netflix installation works by this in playstore

Well that's cos at one point you had unlocked your bootloader and might have dirty flashed MIUI or used fastboot images, which aren't able to recognise the state. But in reality it remains unlocked and it just shows locked in the settings.

Woah. Unauthorised seller eh. Are you sure you are running the Orginal MIUI? The reason Xioami started locking away the bootloader was cos of these unauthorised sellers, unlocking the device and flashing it with an outdated ROM. You should try, Go to Developer settings, link your current Mi account and then proceed to unlock. Or if it says an acc is already linked, lock the bootloader (only if on MIUI Stock, Custom ROM would lead to a bootloop), and now go link your account. (Do take backups before proceeding)

Well, I did flash the latest MIUI Indian Global ROM a few weeks back so maybe I am running Original MIUI?
But I'm still gonna try to "unlock" it. And is there an option to keep all data after the unlock?
EDIT: I just read the Mi Unlock Tool's disclaimer and how they say some features won't work after the unlock. I mean, I know mine is unlocked but I think I'll just keep those features.

Usually the first time you unlock it wipes your internal storage , but it doesn't wipe it in the subsequent unlocks (as far as I've tried). Yep it doesn't actually affect any system functions.. everything is as smooth as before..Find my device works fine as well..the only risk is that if your device gets stolen they could easily wipe MIUI and bypass that account lock by flashing a custom ROM.

Sprint Oneplus 8 5G Bootloader unlock?

Has anyone been able to get any information? I checked the Oneplus site and the tmobile phone has an unlock .bin page but no mention of sprint. Now, I know Sprint has merged with Tmobile so im not sure if this changes things..
Any thoughts/information?
I'm not 100% sure on this as I haven't confirmed it however, I did get the OnePlus 8 5g at their discounted deal due to the merger and can say without a doubt that it is a T-Mobile phone with T-Mobile branding on the box and in the phone the only thing that it is currently using is a Sprint SIM card. Therefore I would assume one of the many methods that are listed over on the T-Mobile side should work I will check into it tonight and get back to you with my findings. I can also say that all of my roaming issues that I was having at my house with my OnePlus 7 pro 5G have been corrected and resolved with just this phone alone. No need for an airrave or any other device to get internet at home. I'm not sure if you live in a 5-g city or not however they have not officially activated it where I live it just recently came on line a day or two ago and that is through T-Mobile's Network only and I'm actually able to pick that up now to. (Just not at home )

They are the same phone but you need a Sprint sim if you're using Sprint for your carrier. There is an 8 Pro but it's not available through any carrier in the US. You need to buy it from OP or Amazon. I don't think it'll work on Sprint as it's not an approved device. It will work on t-mobile This will all change after August when they begin merging customers.
Edit: The OP8 is the exact same phone, IN2017, on both networks.

Yes. I am fully rooted, xXx rom and smurf kernel
You need to network unlock (sim unlock) permanent in order to make available the toggle for OEM Unlocking in settings.
Once sim unlocked, enable oem unlocking in settings and get the unlock from phone and then from OnePlus.
After unlock_code.bin is provided from OnePlus you need to flash that via fastboot. This will wipe.
Then download latest stable twrp from mauricio (thread in xda OnePlus forums)
Only BOOT twrp. Backup boot partition. Install magisk manager app once phone fully reboots.
Patch boot.img backup you made using magisk manager app.
This creates the file "patched_magisk.img"
Move that to ADB folder.
Test patched boot by <fastboot boot patched_magisk.img>
If successful, open magisk manager and press Install Directly.
You will be rooted.

this is the first post in probably 5 years i hit the Thanks button for
can you please confirm if this is supposed to be the method for all carriers, or specific to certain region models, or excluding certain carriers?
i'm emerging from a 1000 year slumber after becoming satisfied with a previous phone, and finding it ridiculously difficult to find a new haven for rooted phones lol
Once you are rooted and unlocked, I'd suggest switching to the Global rom for future proofing the device.
I just did this last night and it was fairly painless.
There's a thread on switching to global. In that thread there is a reply to my post. That reply is a very concise guide to flashing over to global and updating to A11. Regaining root is also simple. Use Magisk Canary and download the stock boot image for global. Patch that stock boot using Magisk Canary.
Reboot to fastboot and flash patched_magisk.img to boot_a AND boot_b
Reboot.
Enjoy root and Magisk.
I also recommend flashing the xXx Magisk rom. Will re-enable VoWiFi and VoLTE for global rom!

Yes. I'm on exact same thing as you.
5g works great after A11 update!
I just got an IN2017 model now and still trying to apply for a SIM unlock, do I need any services enabled for that process? Or can I disable/wipe out any crappy bloatware that my system has, and if so then what's safe to uninstall from sprint?

I"d leave it all for now. Once you unlock, i'd recommend switching to global rom anyway. It receives updates faster and modem is better than tmo. even without standalone 5g.
And when you do that, you'll eliminate most of the bloat.
