[How To] Installing Play Services on Chinese Honor 9

It seems that the Google Installer that actually work was pulled out from HiApp,
Using other installer like v 4.4.2 from Meizu, or v2, the one that circulate a lot wont work on this phone,
So here's the download link for GMS Installer that will install the Play services properly through recovery

Simply install the app, and press the "One Click Install" and let it auto reboot

Hi, just bought Honor 9 Chinese version. I have 1 question. Is he phone need to be root? Or I can just simply install the apk you provided after turning my phone on the first time? Thank you in advance.

Hi folks, you can refer to my previous Google Play installation experience for Honor 6x with EMUI4 and EMUI5.

I've just bought the Honor 9 in China and can't get this to work. When I try to install the GMS Installer it tells me "The parser did not find any certificates in the installation package." Googling this phrase made me none the wiser.
It then suggests I get the official version from HiApp, but there is of course no official version. I'm on the STF-AL10 model, build B175, EMUI 5.1, Android 7.0

There has been some progress, but not really. I've managed to install the following:
Google Account Manager
Google Calendar Sync
Google Contacts Sync
Google Play Services
Google Play Store
Google Services Framework
But still when I try to open Play Store it tells me to install core GMS packages I was under the impression that Play Services was the same as GMS?

Yes its the same.
You need to update your play services n play store to latest version first,
Download it from apkmirror

Using a chinese version of the GMSInstaller solved it for me. If you have the same problem ie can't install GMSInstaller with error about missing certificates, or error after installation about missing GMS core despite it being installed, try this version of the GMSInstaller:

It's the very same file but with a Chinese name for all I can tell. Same size, looks, version number etc. But for some reason the only one my phone would accept.

Hi,
I previously installed google services successfully using GMSinstaller when I first got my Honor 9 in August.
Now it is upgraded to B201 and because it always crashes when it comes to google play, I ran GMSinstaller again which asked me to uninstall every google related apps.
I did so but now it is impossible to install google again
GMS installer will only propose me to uninstall previously installed google apps, then reboot.
I tried several "Google Installer" none of them are working.
Any help would be appreciated,

I tried to make it work for a week. Thanks to you it works now on Huawei Nova 2s. Though I did unblock of the bootloader. Thank you!
One more question: Can I delete the GMS after it made its work or should it stay?

i have Nova 2s too.
just download the GMS Installer from the link given by thread starter, and then install it, open the app, and then press the install button and let it reboot, and voila!
you can check if there's an app called Google Play Services installed in your apps list.
next step is download this list from APKMirror.com :
- ConfigUpdater
- Data Transfer Tool
- Google Backup Transport
- Google Calendar Sync
- Android Services Library
- Android Shared Library
- Market Feedback Agent
- Google One Time Init
- Google Partnet Setup
- Google Services Framework
- Google Play Store
make sure to download the version which specific for your android version.
install all of that and reboot, and you're device will ready to go!

if i use this gms installer on my chinese honor 9 (STF-AL10), can i update the phone on later date? (ex. for emui / android os / security updates)
will there any problem i should aware of if i update my phone?

Does not work for emui 8. Any other solution?

Hi , there is a simple guide to install GMS on HONOR.

#3 STEPS
[1] Download the GMS Installer and install the APK, open the app and press One Touch Installation, your device will automatically reboot and automatically install Google Play Services in Huawei eRecovery.
[2] After your device booting back into system, check in Apps if the Google Play Services installed correctly.
[3] Download the rest from APKMirror : Google Account Manager, Google Calendar Sync, Google Contacts Sync, Google Play Store, and Google Services Framework. Keep in mind you should download version that fit to your android version.
You can even update the Google Play Services to the latest version using the apk's from APKMirror.

Public testing
Step 1: Download the Google Installer V3.0.apk and transfer it to Android phone storage. Place it in Download folder.
Step 2: Launch the installer APK file
Select the Install button. Allow the app to install.
Continue to accept all the apps and wait for the installation to complete.
That’s it. Reboot the phone once.

unfortunately it still stuck at 3% even with the new files ,
tried to force close and clear cache + data but still the same
i must add that after the installer runs for the first time it crashes and opens the second time without issues

The app installs but I cant log into google account manager, also the google framework still gives errors about device certification.

Follow Ilham Pradanto to fix notification - gps, flickering white screen when install align APK

I follow tut by this guy Ilham Pradanto one year ago, everything work perfect. Recently, I factory reset my Huawei P40 Pro (Poor me), I completely downgraded from EMUI 11 -> 10.131 (Install Google) and apply the same way to fix these errors, but when I install align-apk I got flickering white sccren (Remove Apk fix this problem). Is there any google update that led to errors ? I can prevent it ?

I alreday did it, but GPS not working and after 1 day, I got google verify error (already follow 3 tut videos of him)

So for gps you have to install the gms with a different version and for errors you have to disable automatic updates on the playstore
