Hi, I received a Gear S2 for Xmas. A very nice gift. But i have a very big problem, no of my phones (iphone, huawei) or tablet (android) give me the possibility to connect with it.
I read about a new Iphone Gear manager version, but till now I didn't find it.
May anyone of you give me any suggestions to connect my device? I need to setup the time zone at least to put it on my wrist.
Many thanks in advance.
Have a nice day

Hello Marco

I had this same exact issue, any info would be appreciated
Currently Gear S2 is not compatible with iphone. Supposedly a gear manager app for IOS will be available soon.
Always good to check compatibility prior to purchase

I ve resolved this problem buying an galaxy s4 like second phone ( me too have like first one the iphone 6 )
Hello,
i'm sorry but today i have not many times :crying: , because i went to shop because my gear s2 was damaged (water in ) and they substituted it with new.
For connect my s2 with my Meizu M2 Note (first time), i used this method:
1) Phone BT ON
2) Power on S2
3) Open Samsung Gear Manager (that will search for S2 and will install plugin); when it found your gear, gear will says "setting up" or something similar. If it freeze with this message... go to 4
4) On your phone, go to settings-BT and un-link your gear s2 from BT device. Power off your phone BT and reboot it.
5) After reboot, re-activate BT and try to link it with gear (from setting-bt on your phone, NOT from samsung gear); confirm linking request on your phone and on yous gear.
6) Try to re-open gear manager.
I made this step something like 50/55 times (sad but true); sometimes on point "5" i link in my phone settings, sometimes i tried to link directly from samsung gear manager.
Tell me if this method works for you too, be patient and remember: if you have not samsung phone, BT have a lot of problem, so you have to reboot phone, gear, BT, a lot of times.
If you update your gear and connect for first time (so your gear show app and not "connect to gear manager"), i'll give you method for connect very fast without reboot and similar (but you have to pass the first activation now).
See you

I initially had the same problem too and I couldn't solve it at first. It was a pain before I was able to connect to my rooted Nexus 6p.
What I did was made sure that all permissions of the Samsung Gear app on the phone are all turned on. Then I just setup the Gear S3 as as standalone/offline mode (do not connect it to the phone yet), then once you are done with the initial setup - I had to do a factory reset again (From Settings > Gear info > Reset Gear - yup you heard it right, factory reset it again). After the factory reset, make sure you DO NOT connect to the phone via Gear S3. Set it up as Standalone/offline mode again, then connect to WIFI - run an UPDATE on the watch, then open your Gear app in the phone then try to connect. I'm not sure if this method will work for you but it did for me.

Hi Every body,
Firsty, Excuse me for the mistakes, english isn't my language. I'm still learning it.
So, yesterday I bought a gear s2 classic. I didn't know that it was a live demo unit. It worked correctly. But in the, when the battery was low, it was locked itself. When I want to start it, it show "Custom Binary Locked by reactivation lock". I hasn't activated the debugger mode. I can't connect it with my laptop.
I have NetOdin and a Rom found on the web.
Someone can Help me please?
Ps: R732X
Best regards.
Can you get into the reboot mode selection screen?
Power off -> from a powered off state keep the power button pressed until the rebooting message appears -> release the power button then continually press it in quick succession until the menu appears.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I can get to the selection mode but I don't know how I will restore it. I can get to the UsB mode. Others modes don't works. If I want to get to the Wifi mode, it restart and lock the screen at Samsung Screen

Depend on your skills...
You have to open Gear Sx... solder wires...
Flash Combination Firmware via ODIN... via USB cable...
Then you have chance to repair Gear Sx...
Gear Sx... Because I have no idea which model exactly you have now...
Meanwhile I have feedback about tested and working with:
SM-R720X
SM-R732
So I am sure this work also for:

Hey guys, it's Latrell.
So I know the solution is already on XDA, but there isn't a proper forum on it, and couldn't find a solution.
So I bricked my Gear S3 frontier (T-Mobile) (SM-R765T) and I'm still trying to find the proper firmware, but at least I can flash it. I was worried that at first I couldn't and I'd have to wait for Samsung to fix it, which would probably be around 2 weeks. And I'm impatient. At least I have my T-Mobile Gear S2 classic and Gear Fit2...
Now if you have the latest (or a flashable firmware that isn't the testing firmware, which I have, so if you need to at least get your Gear S3 started somewhat, let me know and I'll upload it) let me know. I have firmwares, but I'm still flashing them to see which one is the right one. So far no luck...
But I bricked my Gear S3 frontier trying to downgrade from Tizen 3 (specifically 3.0.0.1) because the previous version seemed smoother, but obviously that wasn't a good idea...
Anyways, enough with the rambling... let me show you how to get back to wireless download on your Gear S3 classic or frontier. It's pretty easy.
Step 1: Press and hold onto the power button until it says rebooting, then press the button about 3-5 times, and stop when you get into a menu.
Step 2: Scroll to the Download (Wireless) option until it's green by pressing the power button, then press and hold onto the option until you get the Tizen logo (the blue flower looking thing.)
Step 3: Now here's the part that's going to save you. Press and hold onto the power button for 2 seconds, then let go and press and hold for 1 second. Then repeat until you see "Searching for AP"
Step 4: Double press the power button, and you should see the "Wait for AP connection", and you're done!
EDIT: For the people asking about the "Google FRP lock" even though it's Samsung reactivation lock and you can't sign into a Google account on there, you need the login info or try to reset your password. Samsung has that stuff locked down and you can't pass it.
Now you can use the firmware you've been hunting the internet for.
I hope this helped everybody.
This is what I know... about SM-R765T
The ""good"" news:
Only 3 Firmware versions public released:
Code:
R765TUVU[COLOR="Green"][B]3[/B][/COLOR]CQL1/R765TTMB3CQL1/R765TUVU3CQL1
R765TUVU[B][COLOR="Green"]3[/COLOR][/B]BQI2/R765TTMB3BQI2/R765TUVU3BQI2
[COLOR="Red"][B]R765TUVU2AQA6/R765TTMB2AQA6/R765TUVU2AQA6[/B][/COLOR]
The red marked Version is obsolete... because Samsung Rollback Prevention.
This version is free available here in XDA.
I have also second Firmware with Software Revision 1... free available but also obsolete...
Short summary.
Software Revision 1 free available BUT obsolete.
Software Revision 2 free available BUT obsolete.
We need Software Revision 3 :good:
But I can not find it as free Download... only on paid sites... for money.
To check Software Revision on your device...
Check Odin Screen... example:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73607036&postcount=1
Code:
AP SWREV: B:
1
or
2
or
3
But as you wrote Tizen 3... you have Software Revision 3... as Bootloader sboot.bin is written...
Only as info.

You must mean reactivation lock. FRP is Google's lock. And reactivation lock is Samsung's lock.
But as far as I know... no. There's no way to bypass it. It's as tough if not tougher than the iCloud lock. There may be a solution on YouTube but I'm not sure.

Hi, sorry to revive this thread, but once in Wireless download mode and i change the AP mode to SM-R770-A301. How do i get it to connect to my Wifi? i have a google onhub router. Reason im asking is because this thing is stuck on a bootloop and wont perform a reset after selecting recovery on the reboot mode screen.
Edit: nevermind, i figured it out, the watch becomes the AP, duh, stupid me, blonde moment.

Somewhere is text how "they" use WPS Mode...

If this is not Top Secret... maybe tell what you have flashed...

Hi friend. I flashed combination level 1 or bit 1 to my gear successfully using wireless Odin. But now watch is bricked does not turn on, it goes off after Samsung logo. If I try wireless mode it goes off also after a while on the blue flower page, does not show WPS or AP mode, after while then power off itself. Only stable thing is Odin mode. I am not good in soldering. I don't want to damage watch. It is R760 model. I have firmware file, bit 2 also combination file bit 1 and 2. But I flashed successfully bit 1 combination. Maybe I should have flashed bit 2 ?
If you have a port on the side of the watch with the 5 pins underneath it, you can use the circuit board from the inside of the charger of the original Gear S to connect via USB and flash firmware via Odin (not NetOdin). I've done this for a few different watches that I have bricked while testing different firmwares.
If your watch does not have the port, just use the back casing of one that does.. the pins on the motherboard are all the same. It's just a matter of having the port to be able to connect via USB without trying to manually connect loose wires.
Hi guys,
I have the SM-R500 and I was trying to update the firmware using NetOdin, I could solve it, first with the AP installation.
Then I was able to turn on the device, all good...but then on the step to connect my smartwatch to the wireless (to change the region), and the smartwatch don't find any wireless network...
Then I was trying to do a new installation using NetOdin and when I'm facing the download (wireless screen) I'm facing the attach file error..."wd_cm_setup_ap: Failed to run soft AP -1"
Can anyone have a clue to solve one of the two situations?
Thank you so much in advance.
I‘m stuck on this screen without the possibility to go to AP mode. Any solutions?

So, I basically got my Gear S3 Frontier from UAE and it had Samsung Pay installed in it but I never tried using it, on coming to India I realised I should change my CSC to INU for better compatibility in Samsung pay.. but doing so just made my Samsung Pay to disappear off of my watch.. on more research I found out that Samsung pay for gear was never officially launched in India... Which is weird because it has been quite some time since Samsung pay was launched in India.. people use it on their phones. Anyways, back to the topic I switched my CSC again to XAR and got back the Samsung pay app however, it doesn't support any of the cards that I have also, it asks for 5 digit zip codes while adding cards whereas India has 6 digit zip codes. Does anyone have any idea or would like to suggest any other CSC which might support more Indian cards? Also, any news on whether Samsung plans to release SPay on gear in India?

I have the same issue, but only with Citibank. They refuse to allow authentication unless the proper 6 digit pincode has been inputted.
I might have a solution, but it requires someone to test it out..Link below

3. Flash combination firmware
- Load the unzipped .tar.md5 file into the "AP" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking then click "Start". This should take about 10 minutes to complete after clicking "Start".
NOTE: I had left "Automatic reboot" ticked in Odin, so once it completed the watch restarted. No issue, except had to go through step 2 to reconnect the watch to the PC before proceeding to the next step
4. Flash CSC file from stock firmware
- Load the unzipped CSC_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "CSC" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking then click "Start". This should take about 1-2 minutes to complete after clicking "Start".
5. Factory reset
- In your Gear, go to Settings > Gear Info > Reset Gear > Confirm
NOTE: I got a warning at this stage that Reactivation Lock was on. Don't know why I got this message as I had definitely turned it off in step 1. I ignored it (no guts, no glory!) and was fine. Your mileage may vary
6. Set CSC code
- In the Gear, go to the Tizen Keystring app
NOTE: screenshots of what your interface will look like https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74591475&postcount=13)
- Type in the following code exactly: *#272*719434266344#
- You will be taken to a list of CSC codes that you can scroll through. Find the code you want to change to and select it. I used "XSA".
7. Reflash complete current stock ROM
- Load the unzipped CSC_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "CSC" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Load the unzipped AP_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "AP" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Load the unzipped BL_xxx.tar.md5 file into the "BL" box of NetOdin, wait for it to finish checking.
- Click "Start". This should take about 15 minutes to complete after clicking "OK".
You are done!
After this, my Gear picked up the OTA update to Tizen 3.0.0.1
So after all of this effort, NAB doesn't currently support Samsung Pay, so I can't 100% confirm this will work, but everything I've read says it should.

I got Gear S3 delivered from Amazon yesterday in India since I was desperate about SPay I tried and followed above method to change CSC and enable SPay. Everything went smooth but now it says "unauthorized modifications have been made to this device". I guess Knox has been tripped. I don't know how, But Samsung Health is working fine.
Now I have requested for a replacement of the same device from Amazon. Can anybody let me know the safest method to enable spay on Indian Gear Device?
Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier
Was in Tizen 3 and got updated to Tizen 4 after combi flash and CSC change.
Gear Model: R760.

Use this method instead to change CSC.. what phone are you using? Make sure you pass safety net and also hide all Samsung apps using magisk hide if you're rooted

I have the same issue, but only with Citibank. They refuse to allow authentication unless the proper 6 digit pincode has been inputted.
I might have a solution, but it requires someone to test it out..Link below

Any luck with this so far? My theory is that it's not just the country code because of which some Indian cards fail to get added, it is possible that it checks the list of approved banks based on the region that is set which is why cards used only in India fail to get added as they are not intentionally recognised despite having spay support in India
I am able to use Samsung Pay in India with CSC change method, but I can only able to add HDFC , Others showing not supported , please contact bank [emoji10]

I have SM-R800 with default/US CSC. I want to use it with Indian credit card. What CSC do you have on your device?
