Yes, this is my doubt, i downloaded MIUI 11.0.5 recovery version, and when i choose it in updater, it's prompt to me that it will erase all data before install. When i made the same with 11.0.4( another version of android ) it fails saying that i have to install it trough fastboot. Now i will install the MIUI 11.0.5 with the updater and in the sequence, the 11.0.4.
Edit: Done! Now i'm restoring my backup.

So today I saw that the 12.1 update is downloaded and asking me to install it. But, when I do try installing it the screen is stuck at the Cyanogen Recovery.
The usual options in recovery screen are displayed, why isn't the OS updating?
FYI - My OPO is rooted and also has TWRP recovery installed. I also tried disabling the Update Cyanogen Recovery option but the same option.
Any assistance would be great

You can't flash the OTA with TWRP recovery. You can either flash the stock recovery and then install the OTA, or you can download the full ROM zip and flash that with TWRP.

Then try CM again.
But flashing MIUI should be done via Fastboot, so be sure to get the right version.

Do you guys flash the miui 6 room using fFASTBOOT? Refer this link for the tutorial LINK
Fastboot rom is different from recovery rom because it has all the necessary files to return your device to complete stock rom as it includes recovery img, modem files etc. Try to flash the 6.6.10.0 or 6.6.5.0. Good luck
k
okay i will try.....Thank you
looping problem
i was burning my midnights oil for haplessely flashing Cm12.1.... nothing was happening...
later found out that i was not using miui dev ROM. then downloaded both 5.1 as well as 6.6...
still stuck at languages section... GAPPS was not the correct one. downloaded arm64 5.1 stock... voila.... running smooth since yesterday....
thanks @dh.harald & @omerjerk
now ready to try CM13
When you want a clean install, use the fastboot one. It seems to be a non-system partition problem, thus try flashing fastboot rom and see its outcome
I am trying to flash cm12 with miui 7 but it gone into bootloop then i restore into stock by using twrp recovery it comes to normal. Then i tried flashing resurrection rom it hangs at language point then it again it goes into bootloop. Plz tell me how to flash ROM..??

Use MIUI 6.6.10.0 or 6.6.5.0 and then flash any desired ROM on top of it. Else you may face problems and bootloops.

I would understand, but it is barely an update, thats my point, with cm its done because of each ROM having different android versions, imo in this case ita quite pointless just to fill the dev section.

Yes, this ROM is based on Android 7 and the precious version was based on 6.

Oh, I never knew that existed, I was talking about the 6 version thread.
Hi everyone sorry to bother you all again (this is my 2nd post in one day lol)
I have been using Pixel Experience ROM on my global Mi MIX 3 for a while, going great but I decided I want to try out the Lineage OS ROM so I made a TWRP backup, copied the backup external and then wiped the phone. Now I wipe my phone via TWRP and then try to install the LineageOS ZIP. but i get an error code 7, which google says is because the ROM isn't compatible with my phone.
OK no problem, so I try to restore to my backup, but that will not complete, unknown error during restoring data partition. Not so sure about this, but nothing important backed up, happy to start again so I give up with the backup. I download the latest global MIUI rom from xiamoi (perseus_global_images_V10.2.2.0.PEEMIXM_20190228.0000.00_9.0_global_5c0bb91b94.tgz) and try to flash via MiFlash tool but it tells me error "device and image mismatch" which sounds strange... so i try the latest china global MIUI rom from xiaomi (perseus_images_V10.3.1.0.PEECNXM_20190330.0000.00_9.0_cn_2ca826a027.tgz) and this one works, i am booted back into working chinese MIUI.
I am global phone so no idea why global xiaomi TGZ is an image mismatch but china is fine? Not a huge deal because I do not want this ROM anyway, so I install TWRP again and try to install LineageOS rom one more time, still get error 7. Now I am really confused. I would be so happy for anyone's help
1.format date
2.flash latest EU firmware
3.let it boot
4.reboot to TWRP and wipe
5.flash 9.2.15 firmware (to have proximity sensor working) without rebooting flash Los and gapps
6.flash magisk if you like
7. Reboot
See if this helps

thanks for your reply
what format do i expect to see "latest EU firmware" and "9.2.15" firmware? are they zip files i can find online or image files or something? do i flash them via TWRP or MiFlash?
sorry for extra questions
Sorry latest EU you can flash in TWRP and you can download from xiaomi.eu which is 9.5.9 let it boot up and after you can reboot to TWRP and flash https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397963751
Without rebooting flash gapps and magisk if you want root

thanks so much for all the advice man. i'm keen to give this a try, hope it solves my problem!
i'm having some troubles navigating the xiaomi.eu website. the only 9.5.9 i can find is "xiaomi.eu_multi_POCOF1_9.5.9_v10-9.zip" which seems to be for poco phone? and then i found this "xiaomi.eu_multi_MIMix3_V10.3.1.0.PEECNXM_v10-9.zip" which is Mi MIX 3 but not 9.5.9 like your suggest. am i doing something wrong?

just want to let you know you are a life saver, your advice worked perfectly, my phone is now 100% working again and with the rom installed too. thank you so much, and i am really sorry for when i couldn't find the firmware and you had to find it yourself and send a link. that kind of thing is really annoying so i'm sorry for that and thanks again for your help. i'm really happy
